Seeing purchased music on another computer

I purchased music on my home computer and I want to be able to see it on my work computer. Is this possible? Sharing doesn't work, because it is two different networks. I was thinking that since both computers are authorized I would be able to see my purchased music list, but that's not so.

Tom,
Burn your purchased files to an iTunes "Data CD" (Preferences -> Advanced -> Burning) and take the files to work. Copy them onto your PC and then into iTunes. When you start playback on one of them, it should ask for your iTunes account password to complete the authorization process on that computer. At that point, all songs bought under that account and copied onto that computer will then playback.
You cannot redownload the tracks directly from Apple, you have to get them to the other computers on your own.

  • Plyaing purchased music on another computer

How do you play your purchased music on another computer?... I downloaded an album on to my other computer, is there any way where i can get it onto this cmoputer without purchasing it again?

You'll need to physically move the files any way you like (email, usb key, CD, etc...). The other computer will have to have iTunes installed. You bring the files into iTunes by dragging into iTunes' window or doing File->add to library from iTunes. When you play the song it will ask you for your iTunes account and password.
You can authorize up to 5 computers to play your iTunes purchased songs.

  • How to view purchased music on another computer

I am trying to login to my iTunes account on a computer other than the one I usually use and listen to my purchased music. Supposedly, I am authorized to play purchased music on 5 machines simultaneously. however, I cannot view or find my purchased music when I logon to the second machine. Only the purchased music from the normal iTunes user on the second machine shows up. Is there a way to accomplish what I am trying?

Charles, we often see posts here from folks who mistakenly think that their iTunes library is on a central server somewhere, and that they can log in from anywhere and see it. It is not. Your iTunes library is right there on your PC.
If you want to see (or listen to) your songs on another PC, you have to copy the song files from your PC onto the other PC, perhaps using a flash (USB) drive, and add them to the iTunes library on the second machine. If any of the songs are protected, you will need to authorize that computer to your account.

    Hello,
I purchased a song on itunes, using my login, on my work computer. I would like to move it to my home computer. Is the only way to burn it and import it into my itunes? Is there a way to let my itunes do that automatically?

  • How do I download my music onto another computer, when I no longer have the music on another computer, ipod, or any other storage device?

Just as it says: How can I download music again that I have already bought and downloaded once on another computer?
I no longer have the music on another computer (I no longer have the original computer) and the only other place I put the music was my Ipod that I lost. (Im sure its somewhere in my house, but can't seem to find it)

Whether you can re-download your past music purchases will depend upon what country that you are in. On the iTunes store home page on your computer there should be a Puchased option under Quick Links on the right-hand side of it - go into that and see if music is an option for re-downloading

  • Giving purchased music to another user?

I'm posting this here because Apple tech support has apparently given up trying to help me.
My wife and I recently split up. Over the years, we've purchased a decent amount of music through the iTunes store. We also shared an iTunes account. Maybe you can see where I'm going with this...
Along with all our other belongings, we're trying to split up our music. I'd like to "give her" her music so that it will work on her computer. And no, I don't want to authorize her computer for my account. I dont want to keep a copy of her music. I just want to give her what's hers.
Had we purchased our music on CD, this would be simple. Surely Apple can figure out a way to accomplish the same thing with digital music. But they can't. Or rather, they don't want to try.
I've emailed tech support and received basic (and irrelevant) copied-and-pasted instructions on how to transfer music to another computer. When I pressed a little further for a solution that would work for me, I received this response:
"We are working quickly as possible to handle each request in a timely matter due to a increase in requests. We will contact you as soon as we find the correct solution for you."
    That was 6 weeks ago.
When I sent a follow-up email 2 weeks ago, I got the same copied-and-pasted response about transferring music to another computer.
If anyone is still reading this, I ask: Has anyone else in this situation gotten a good response from Apple? (And no, I'd rather not burn each track to a CD and let her re-import it.)
    Thanks.

    Can't be done.
When you purchase a song, the account info it was purchased with is embedded in the song file by Apple when you compete the purchase and download it.
(And no, I'd rather not burn each track to a CD and let her re-import it.)
Sadly, this is the only way you will accomplish it.
Since you don't want to authorize her computer (I wouldn't) with your account, the easiest way to give her "her" songs would be to burn them onto an audio CD and delete them from your computer.
After you burn a CD, leave it in, select it in iTunes and go to menu Advanced -> Submit CD track names.
Then when she inserts the CD into her computer, iTunes will read the track info from the Gracenote database and correctly tag her songs.

If they were purchases from iTunes then have you checked to see if you can re-download them (it's not possible in all countries), assuming that they are still available in the store : re-downloading ? If you aren't in a country where you can re-download past music purchases and you haven't got a backup, then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

How do I added my music to another computer thats not my home computer???

Are you wanting to add music to an iTunes library on another computer?  That shouldn't be a problem.  Just import it or rip the same way you would on your iTunes library on your home PC.
Or are you wanting to extract content from the iPod into this new/different iTunes library?  If so, see this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 on different ways to extact the media on your iPod and back into iTunes.

I lost purchased music on my computer that was purchased in the last 4 to 5 months because of virus. I did not back up the few songs I purchased on cd. I also lost all data on my Ipod nano and had to restore it. How do I download these purchases I lost?

Go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the Purchases link under the Quick Links. From there you should be able to re-download some or all of your purchased content. Note that not all content has been licensed for re-downloading in all countries at this time; you can see what content you can download here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085
You can also re-download content using an iOS device.
    For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
This if course will not apply to songs you did not buy through the iTunes Store.
