  • New iPhoto web galleries and iPhone

I've made several web galleries via the new iPhoto and put them on my .mac site. When I go to view the gallery from my iPhone I never get past the login window. I type the password really carefully and it just gives me a new blank login window again. It works when I check the gallery from my desktop computer.
    Thanks for any help.

Two pages for you to preview for your answer:
    Web Gallery:
    http://www.apple.com/dotmac/webgallery.html
    AND
    iPhoto .Mac Web Gallery:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/#webgallery
As I perused the two sites quickly, I didn't see their connection, but you may see something different!

  • Can't see web galleries in iweb

I've published multiple .mac web galleries but don't see any of them listed in the widget list in iweb. What am I missing, do I have to do something special to see them?
What's the best way to include my web galleries if I have a ton of them I want to list on my website?

It may not be a bug but a feature to not display any photos that are acutally in the gallery when announcing a protected gallery. I don't know. But you can report by using the iWeb->Provide iWeb Feedback menu option in iWeb.
If the gallery is password protected but your want a photo from the gallery to be in the link, add a small photo to the page, size it to a reasonable size and then link it to the web gallery. When visitors click on the photo link they will be taken to the gallery and have to put in a name and password before they can access it. You can email that info to them in a separate email.

  • 'Private' web galleries & iPhone display problem.

I shoot weddings and a number of my brides now have iPhones. I recently published a web gallery for a sneak preview of a recent wedding. I sent the link to the bride so she could view it on her honeymoon. She responded stating she could see 4 galleries, but none of them were her wedding?
I thought that was strange since I marked the gallery 'private'. I checked the link on my iPhone and found out that the 4 personal galleries on the top-level of my .mac web gallery was showing.
I suspect this is a .mac/iPhone issue instead of an Aperture issue. Anyway to change the settings so private galleries can be seen on an iPhone or is this a bug?
    Corbin

To clarify the issue; The Album is available to view by 'everyone'.
The options is set to "hide album on my Web Gallery page"
When I view the link - http://gallery.mac.com/corbinharris/100093 only the top gallery page shows up on my iPhone. Can anyone from Apple explain why the link goes to the top level of my Web Gallery instead of the actually gallery?
Unless I'm missing an option setting, this is a major bug.

  • No longer option to select iPhoto web galleries to sync to iPhone

Why isn't the web galleries in iPhoto showing up under the Photos tab in iTunes anymore to sync to my iPhone? Only the main albums show for syncing. I always synced the web gallery albums too. This is annoying arghhh
    ~.

    Follow Up:
    This worked for me:
"iLife: Cannot See iPhoto Files in Other iLife Applications"
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1192
It became more and more obvious that the problem was with iPhoto and none of the other programs. This is because I noticed I no longer had access to my iPhoto albums when selecting my desktop background. As a test, I opened iMove and noticed they didn't show up there either.
I followed the Apple support thread above, deleting the plist file, and then the xml file.
The note it mentions here is what happened to me:
"Some photos you import may have keywords already embedded within their EXIF data. iPhoto will attempt to add these keywords to your keyword list when you import the photo. However, if the keyword contains an unusual character, or is corrupted in some way, this may cause the XML file discussed above to become unreadable. In turn, this will make the iPhoto list come up as empty or blank in other applications. Renaming the keywords will help you to isolate which keyword or photo might be introducing this issue."
There was one corrupt file that created multiple keywords of the same name. I deleted the corrupt keywords through iPhoto:Preferences:Keywords. I also deleted the foul file.
Follow these instructions if you're noticing iPhoto albums not showing up in iTunes, as well as the other iLife apps.
    Cheers.

  • IPhone and web galleries

I type the password really carefully and it just gives me a new blank login window again. It works when I check the gallery from my desktop computer.

Ok - so I think i may have the solution. Apparently, my album name had double quotes in there..( " ). That's what was causing the problem. If I remove the quotes from the name, the iPhone now seems to be perfectly happy with the album.
This seems to be a bug in the way Web Galleries work, but for now, ensuring that the web gallery does not have any special characters may be a start.

  • How to see web history in my sons iphone from my iphone

how to see web history in my sons iphone from my iphone

I don't believe there is a way to see the browing history on his phone from your phone using Safari. You might want to look at some of the alternative browsers which are designed with more parental controls. McGruff gets mentioned alot. You can install one of those browsers and disable Safari in restrictions. It's possible that one of them might have a feature your looking for.
You'd also want to disable downloading of any apps as your son could just download a different browser. And, for what it's worth, many apps have built in browsers.
    Best of luck.

  • Accessing Aperture Web Galleries through the iPhone

Is there a way of getting my aperture web galleries to show up on my iPhone? The only web galleries that show up are those I created with iPhoto.

I assume you are syncing your photos to your phone through iTunes, and you have figured out that you have to choose Aperture to sync with. But when you choose Selected Albums, you also noticed that your Web Galleries are missing from the menu. I suppose this is because Web Galleries are not Albums. You would have to create albums of those web galleries in order to selectively sync them to your phone. This doesn't require any more disk space of course so there is no worries there, it just means that now you'll have an Album, and a Gallery of the same images. That's kind of lame. Apple should allow us to sync the iPhone to Web Galleries as well as albums.

  • Cannot see web photo gallery in design in dreamweaver cs3

have made web photo gallery in PS- opens in browser- opens in
dreamweaver cs3- I can see the code all OK can view again in
browser--But I cannot see the thumbnails or tables-yet I know its
there hidden?--How can I make it all visible

    Cindy:
If you dig really deeply (10 levels down!) in your Library folder you will find the templates for the new Bridge Galleries. You can also use the Lightroom templates in Bridge CS4.
    Library/Applications Support/Adobe/Bridge CS4 Extensions/Adobe output Module/mediagallery/resources/templates/07lightroomgallery/styles
    I duplicated one of the enclosed Styles and dragged it to the Desktop;
    opened it in GoLive (because I like the way that GL displays html code although any text editor will do);
edited the code to give me the background colors, text and image frames that I wanted; and Saved the file with a new but similar name (starting with next two digits in the series and with the .xml suffix) in the same location as the original.
    And it works!
You may be able to put your existing templates in the appropriate areas.
Or, you could install the Optional Plug-ins which let you use the Photoshop/File/Automate
web galleries and put your old templates wherever you kept them for CS3.
    WARNING:
You should be perfectly safe doing this but if you screw-up CS4 and have to re-install it I accept no responsibility!!!!!!!

  • Bridge Help | Create web galleries and PDFs with Adobe Output Module

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/using/create-web-galleries-pdfs-adobe.html

    Plug-ins that failed to load:
It seems to me that something is wrong with your install. Maybe you did clone a former mac to install on this one? or copies old stuff to the new one. Don't know, it seems easy and quick but I prefer always a new install using a new computer or switching to a new system upgrade.
Lightning effects shows to be 32 bit while I think to know that Photoshop CS5 and CS5.5 are both 64 bit, however Bridge was turned to 64 bit in the CS6 version but that should not mater for you to use both applications from the same install disk (or download?)
And variations is something I tried to find in CS6 but can't find it there. I had long forgotten this feature that presented different previews and you could switch to color corrections and brightness (not sure) while looking at the result in the previews.
So I think you have some old material residing on your system. I would advice you to back up all custom settings (actions, tools, workspaces etc. and keywords in Bridge) Then do a search for the Adobe Cleaner tool :
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html?promoid=GYTAU
(don't know this links work for you but you can find it easy with google).
Read the instructions carefully and follow this using the official uninstaller that came with PS (see application folder). Also be sure to have your serial number and AdobeID present and while an activation of PS is for the computer maybe for security first deactivate before uninstall.

  • Making Bridge web galleries searchable

I'm sure this will have been asked before on the forum, but after scrolling thought the first four pages of topics I can't see it raised anywhere.
Is there an easy way of adding a search engine that will interrogate a file's metadata when creating a web gallery in Bridge?
The company I work for is looking to set up a gallery of 2,000 graphics to begin with, which will probably grow to 10,000 graphics before too long.
Bridge is great because it converts Illustrator vector files to jpegs (the organisation is Microsoft Office-based, and most staff cannot read vector files). But obviously the resulting gallery has to be searchable. It seems odd that Adobe hasn't included this option as standard when creating web galleries.
I'm a graphic designer by trade, and although I can do a little bit of coding I'm certainly no expert in that area. So I do need a simple solution.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice offered and sorry if I'm bringing up an old chestnut again.

It sounds like your html files are assigned to fireworks instead of safari. Open your file browser (windows explorer or mac equivelent) find an html file and look at it properties. In windows this is where you can change the app that is the default. I am not sure how on a MAC, but hopefully it will jog your memory or someone else will answer.

  • LR Web Galleries, need help

I use LR's web galleries for my clients to view their proofs on line, I am on a Mac and my clients who are on a PC see white specs in the very black areas of the photos, I tested this out and it is only when viewed on a PC that this appears, not on Mac's. Are you familiar with this problem? Is there a way to fix this?

Can you establish a sample gallery to show the problem and post a link to it here?

  • Web Galleries on Photo pages?

I think I already know the answer is no, but... I much prefer the .Mac Web Gallery and it's options to the older photos page you create from iPhoto. I have converted a couple of albums to Web Galleries.
My questions is regarding putting those on a Photos page. I only seem to be able to put a Web Gallery on a blank page. Dropping it onto one of the default album spaces that pop up on a Photos page (where you drag in from iPhoto), of course, does nothing. My main reason is that I would like to consolidate Web Galleries on an Albums page - I really like the look of the albums themselves and it's a nice gateway. I have been able to make a rectangle, change it to a picture frame, resize it and use that, but it's not the organization I prefer, and, again, I'd like to have the gateway in those nice albums. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm searching the forum for a solution to this too; web galleries look cheap next to the albums, and there's no reason for it. Short of changing all of my albums to galleries, here's my temporary solution, but it's a half-measure:
    1) Drop a square on top of your .Mac Web Gallery widget that's just a bit larger than the widget.
    2) Select the square, and in the Inspector, go to the Graphic Inspector, and under Stroke, select Picture Frame.
    3) Select the frame that matches your album's format, then resize the square until it's just about the size of the widget, or provides the desired border width around the widget.
    4) Move the square backward, behind the widget.
    5) If desired, add a dummy album name beneath the gallery for visual continuity.
    See my example here: http://www.vehphoto.com/sandrift/Photos/Photos.html
This worked for me because I'm using a white background and white frames; your mileage may vary depending on what theme and picture frames you're using. (I can't recall if I enabled additional frames in the Inspector as described in the Keynote forums - if a matching frame appears to be missing in the Inspector, let me know and I'll double-check this.)
Still, it's a sub-optimal solution, because 1) the widget cannot be resized 2) the widget still contains the gallery name, and 3) widgets cannot be rearranged the way albums can - they probably have to be segregated from albums.
I'll be posting feedback on this at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html

  • Making large html web galleries (400-1400 images)

Please post a link to methods on how to do this if I have missed an earlier answer.
I have been building large html web galleries to provide to clients on disks along with the original images. When I do this for galleries of around 400 to 1400 images and up, the web gallery is made but there can be images that are missed and listed as 'not in the library' even though they are present and intact.
I have found a clumsy workaround. After choosing the group of images in the library and selecting the web template in the web module, I open each thumbnail index page and let the thumbnails load and then move to the next index page and let it load, etc. After finishing all the index pages I export the web page. Often I still get error messages but in fact all the images are loaded into the web page and it can be opened with a browser with no problems or missing images.
This is a time consuming method to accomplish something that should be easily automated and automatic. It seems that LR gets ahead of itself in making a page before it has actually loaded the image file...therefore an image is missed.
Has anyone found a better way to do this for large groups of images or do we have to wait for an update to correct this glitch.
    Thanks in advance.

Try setting off the gallery export overnight and really leaving it time to finish. I suspect the progress bar isn't totally accurate and things happen before and after it has apparently completed. See if this works.
