Seeking a filter for an eMac display

Hello. I'm looking for an anti-radiation, anti-glare filter for the display/monitor of an eMac computer. Would anyone be able to suggest products and vendors? No store in my town seems to sell filters for CRT displays any more. Thanks.

The problem is really that you have introduced those resonances. What if the resonance happens to be at the same frequency as your desired signal? Then the resonance may get so large as to destroy the accelerometer! If the frequencies are close but not exactly the same, it becomes difficult to design a fliter which can adequately separate the signals without too much error on the desired signal.
The best solution is to modify the metal surface or the attachment method so that the resonance does not occur or else occurs at a frequency far removed form the desired signal frequency.
If that is not a possibility, consider adding a second accelerometer mounted in such a manner that it does not respond to the resonances but does respond to the frequency of the desired signal. Even if the second accelerometer does not accurately measure the amplitude of the acceleration due to its position, it may permit determination of the signal frequency.
Remember, the device you are measuring is likely also experiencing accelerations due to the resonances, so you may need to measure them.

Fix for Dead eMac Display

I found a fix for my dead psychedelic eMac:
1. Reset the PMU (explained in the battery replacement screen)
2. Reset the PRAM on the first start (Option-Command-P-R)
3. Hold the Power Button down on the first start. Listen for the loud tone.
This worked for my dead eMac. I had tried everything. It was dead for two months. Sometimes I'd get weird psychedelic colored vertical lines.
The Apple Store looked at it and wanted to replace the Logic Board for $700. I said "Thanks, but No".
PS. Unfortunately, I got so frustrated that I bought a new Windows machine. I'm ashamed now. What a waste.

Given Macfixit is an independent entity from Apple and has a tendency to hide many of its repairs behind a pay only site, I would printout their suggested repair, and take it with you when you next visit an authorized repair shop and ask them if they can see whether they think that repair would fix your machine.

Problem in ALV during Filter for display of no. of records on header

In one of the ALV report I am using FM: 'reuse_alv_grid_display' by passing the final internal table t_final. Also I am using the FM: 'reuse_alv_commentary_write' for header and displaying the No. of records by describing the t_final internal table.
If the user does Filtering in the ALV output and displays the filtered records, the no. of records count is not getting changed and showing up the total no. of records that displayed originally. How can I display the No. of records that are filtered in the header after filtering in ALV output. I appreciate if any one throw light to resolve this problem.

I am using REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY to display a report. The sample report as below :
Matnr qty1 qty2
1234 1.00 0.00
ABCD 0.00 0.00
5678 0.00 1.00
After display of the report, user wants to filter on the quantity fields where qty1 = 0.00 AND qty2 = 0.00.
User will execute the report. Output is displayed. Then user clicks on qty1 and qty2 field heading. Then user clicks on filter (funnel) button. Then a small popup will appear which will display two filter fields qty1 and qty2. Then user will enter filter criteria for qty1/qty2 columns as :
qty1 = 0.00 (here '=' symbol is in red meaning 'exclude' the rows having zeroes
in qty1 column)
qty2 = 0.00 (here '=' symbol is in red meaning 'exclude' the rows having zeroes
in qty2 column)
Once the user presses the enter button of this popup window, the filter criteria is applied and the whole report is becoming empty. Because in the above example all the three rows are having the zeroes in qty1 or qty2 columns. So logically the filter criteria applied was qty1 = 0.00 OR qty2 = 0.00
The expected output after applying the filter was just one row like below because both qty1 and qty2 are having zeroes. Logically the filter criteria applied should have been qty1 = 0.00 AND qty2 = 0.00
Matnr qty1 qty2
ABCD 0.00 0.00

Where can I find a 17" desktop anti-glare filter for my iMac?

I checked a couple of sites that sell anti-glare filters. I'm trying to find one to fit my widescreen 17" iMac, however, both sites charged exorbitant prices, one $80, another $100. I remember ten years ago I was able to buy an anti-glare filter for my old Windows PC, but for some reason, neither the Apple Store, nor Best Buy sell them today. I need one because for the second time in two years, I had to get new glasses as the glare from my iMac is hurting my eyesight.

As I said, I don't think the result from putting a filter over the glass will be satisfactory, regardless of cost.
You may want to find an external matte screen digital (DVI) LCD that you find comfortable to look at, and connect it to your iMac as a second display. Then set System Preferences Displays pane so that it is your primary display (with the menu bar and dock on it). Put that display in front of you, with the iMac off the right as the secondary display. You can still use it (as you desktop extension); hopefully the "glare" will be less of a problem if you are not staring at it constantly. You can go up to 1920x1200 resolution for an external digital display, which is a typical 23 or 24-inch (measured diagonally) widescreen LCD display. I use my iMac that way, with an external display (that I really like) as my primary display and the iMac to the right as the secondary display. Note: It's to the right because putting it to the left blocks the optical drive.
Alternately, if the iMac is in good shape, you can sell it and put the proceeds toward a new Mac mini, and get a display that is comfortable for you.

Filter for LOV

Hi i am using Jdev 11.1.1.4
i have a table with LOV column.
where the LOV which i attached is coming from different VO.
now i want the filter for this column where the filter works for the list attribute not the display attribute
is it possible to implement filter that filters the value according to the display attribute?

SVG objects with the feSpecularLighting filter effect do not display

When I open a Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg) file in Firefox, any objects having filters that contain the <feSpecularLighting> filter primitive, do not display at all and in rare cases, even causes Firefox to crash.
For example:

It should render like this:

In order to get the SVG file to render like the PNG, you need to edit kernelUnitLength from 0.01 to approximately 1.0 (or delete it). Not sure whether something might have changed in how Firefox handles this attribute to cause such a drastic difference.
I should test in a clean profile to see whether I get the same result...

Resource list filter for filtering on timestamp

Hi,
We need to implement scenario where only XML form messages active in the timestamp are displayed to end users.
For this we have done the following changes :
1) The KM folder permissions are Everyone has read only role and Admin users has Full control
2) IN XML form we have a property which has unique name.
3) There is layout set created , collection rendered and resource rendered, CM repository for having the KM folder under /root
4) the collection rendered has configuration of resource list filter
5) the filters par file is deployed refering the blog : Resource list filter for Flexible UI navigation
In this ,the code references the Folder path and checks for the filter property.
6) the resouce list filter has the java class as the one from par file.
still this is not working. Please let me know if I am missing something.

this is not really correct. A NoClassFoundException is not part of Java core. There only ClassNotFoundException and NoClassDefFoundError do exist.

Alv grid filter problem with oops display

HI experts ,
i am using o_alv->set_table_for_first_display
for displaying the data in the grid ,
i have a problem in filter for fields, when i am selecting any field for filtering , then size of that field becomes less then the orignal size , even search help on that field is shoun only 4 characters of dat fields.
ex: Bulding (field in alv) is a 9 character field but in filter when we select f4 help then it shows only first four characters, plz tell me the solution.

How to use filter for data tables? Important topic but no docs/examples.

I was looking at the TableRowGroup APIs:

and looks like it has getTableDataFilter and setTableDataFilter methods. Sounds to me, that we can use TableDataFilter to filter rows that are displayed. For example, we can provide users with a drop down list of fields to choose from, and input field to enter the value of the selected field, so that they can narrow down the rows to search for specifics row(s) they are looking for.
I have not seen any example, or enough documentation, to figure out how to use this filter. Since JSC is new, there are not too many resources out there or on web for such specific issues. Any gurus out there?

Creator Team: Data filtering tutorial is over due now. This is something that will be useful to most developers. We all want to display users some data and want to provide user ability to filter it down based on some criteria, i.e. display rows within a date range, display all rows that have certain value or a field, etc. If there is a built-in filter in TableRowGroup, why not document it adequately along with some examples and a tutorial?
This is one of the key elements of Microsoft/VS.NET market share -- provide tons of example/tutorials/advanced code/books/3rd party books, etc. Why can't other companies follow a well-proven success element? In spite of making a better product, the can end up loosing or not gaining enough share, because of this lack of attention.

Is there a FIND search filter for SHARED folders?

I believe Archiving will only archive the users emails not any messages displayed in a shared folder.
But when I do a FIND search by date, I still see all those messages from shared folders that other users own.
Is there a FIND search filter for SHARED folders?
Further is there a way to differentiate or filter in a FIND search for shared folders that only I own, or shared folders that are owned by other people?

The archiving process isn't "allowed" to move messages from folders that are
owned by others. This is a different matter altogether. Archiving systems
typically use either IMAP or SOAP for their access, and cannot access folders
shared by other users (Nexic Discovery is different in this if you use the API
version of it, because it can see shared folders, and will archive if you
request it).
You are comparing apples and oranges unfortunately, and the client was built to
be able to manage shared folders unlike the archiving program.
As Michael says, you can choose to not "look in" shared folders if you do not
want them to show up in a find results.

Scratch removal tips for MBP Retina Display

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to remove scratches from the surface of the palm rest on the MBP with Retina Display? One is quite superfical however the other is deep!

If it is new, take it back to where you purchased it and seek an exchange for a product with a working display. If you bought it from Apple there is a 14 day return period. Other retailers may have different policies.
If you want that machine repaired it will take time. If you can't do without the machine, an exchange is your best option.
Should you decide on a repair, contact Apple using expresslane.apple.com if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Alternatively carry the MacBook Pro in to an Apple retail store or service provider.

Msi big bang xpower2 - only boots for 10 seconds, displays error b7

Hey guys,
As the title states. I am getting 'b7' on the error display which i read somewhere means 'no input devices detected', can someone confirm this? I have tried turning on the PC with 1 GPU, 2 GPU, and no GPU in different configurations but I get the same error each time. It just boots for 10 seconds, displays 'b7' and then restarts and does it all over again. Help would be massively appreciated as I need this PC for work :(

Just providing the name of your MB is not enough info. Please supply information for rest of your system, not knowing what kind of RAM, model CPU and other components mates it very difficult to help track down cause your problem.
