Seeking a Mellotron sound

Can anyone tell me if there's a Mellotron sound anywhere within Logic's instruments or samples? Or has anyone tweaked any synths to get close?
For those too young, it's the retro string sound beloved of early Genesis / Yes etc.

I like Mtron pro so much, that I've never yet got round to uploading this free mellotron; tapeworm. It's free though, so I suggest you give it a go -and I'm going to try it myself now that this thread jogged my memory of it

  • Mellotron sounds missing

I have downloaded all the additional content and Mellotron is showing up in the EXS24 but only ONE sound
As far as I understand it should show up in the presets as Vintage Mellotron and have 10 sounds inside
Mine only displays Mellotron (no Vintage) and loads with just one sound (no extra choices listed)
The additional content size is only 237mb for Mellotron? is this size correct it seems small?
I have already tried re-ntalling the additional content for this but no change

  • Seeking Hurdy Gurdy sound

Hello all. I've been googling like crazy trying to find a good Hurdy Gurdy sound. I got the one from Boulder Sounds, but it's just too mild. I'd love to find a fff Hurdy Gurdy -- it's aggressive and cuts through a mix, and sounds great in techno and hip hop. I used it years ago and now I can't find it anymore.
Seriously, I've been trying for days -- anyone know a good Hurdy Gurdy?
    Thanks awfully.

Funnily enough I'm working on a project with a fabulous Hurdy Gurdy player .... there was a slightly embarassing moment when one of the films' producers had a problem with a mix that I was particularly pleased ...... I had a note to ask "what was the odd digital sounding thing that sounded like an electric guitar through a fuzz box? ...... whatever it is - THIS IS A PERIOD MOVIE - please could you remove the strange digital noise-!!
When I was writing stuff for the Hurdy Gurdy, I found some very useful stuff on QUANTUM LEAP "RARE INSTRUMENTS" - see Disc 3 "Europe" ..... I have a version for Akai S-1000 that comes translates fine in ESX24. (I first bought Rare Instruments Hurdy Gurdy in 2002 and used this instead of a player .... it may still be around)
BTW - there are some amazing performances on You Tube if you simply put "Hurdy Gurdy" in search.
    happy new year

If u havent's used , just seek for a sound or a part of speech witch is very evident to sing
    Do it before cut video

  • Sending mail with multiple recipients as one mail?

The project I'm working on to migrate users to the new 7.x messaging platform keeps asking me to do some special configurations.
    I got this question today...
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    4. As inquired, when sent from SunMail to/copying multiple addresses, the outgoing email is replicated as many as the number of addressees
(For example, if you are sending an email to 10 people, the email is sent as 10 emails)
In the Exchange system, email to multiple recipients is replicated in the Top Mail Server. But in SunMail, such email is replicated to 10 emails when being sent.
We want SunMail emails to remain as a single email when being sent and only to be replicated to each recipient in the Top Mail Server.
This may be dependent on the specs of mail software, which means it may not be able to fix, but please confirm.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The "top mail server" is just some postoffice product, appliance type mta for sendmail.
Is there anyways to pass along the email without expanding the recipients into individual mails?
    Thanks.

Hey Kelly, longtime no chat. Thanks for such a detailed and informative answer. I read over the link, that explains a lot. The old system is a 6.3. Unfortunately I have a very limited access to the old production systems and can't do much. Otherwise information is like pulling teeth around here. I've copied over all the configuration files and I am going through that stuff now.I recommend you compare the old MS6.3 configuration with the new MS7u3 default (configuration) settings and make changes to the MS7u3 settings only where necessary. Using the old MS6.3 settings may no longer be appropriate for the new environment.
I think the main thing here, is that the default behavior in the proposed 7.x system will give them the results they seek, does that sounds like a fair assumption?Taking a step back I question the initial statement:
"4. As inquired, when sent from SunMail to/copying multiple addresses, the outgoing email is replicated as many as the number of addressees".
From a strictly performance/storage perspective it makes no sense to "replicate" an email and the MTA goes to great lengths to avoid such replication where possible. Kelly has pointed out one scenario where replication will occur ("single" channel keyword) but this is not enabled by default (for good reason). There could be other causes e.g. conversion channel or sieve filters or spam filtering that operates at the envelope recipient level.
So if this "replication" behaviour is occurring in the old environment then without understanding why it is occurring you cannot assume it won't occur in the new environment -- especially if you are copying across the old config files.

    Shane.

  • How to extract the number from image using java

    Hello every one
i want to develope a project which can extract the number from image
that i can use as inter or String or char.
Is there any API in java which provide this type of facility.
    right now i m using java 5
    thanks in Advance
    Jignesh

In my project i have a image in that i have a
co-ordinate (x,y) I am still puzzled as to what you seek. It sounds to me like you have a point (x, y) represented by p. in java it's just p.getX() p.getY()
i want to convert that cordinate to numeric form,
i mena i want to use that cordinate in somewhere else
    in project.point.getX() point.getY()
So need to convert it into numeric form u can called
it OCR also.OCR is optical character recognition. If I want out and took a picture of the US Declaration of Independence and then wanted the words on the parchement in the picture in text form, then I would run the picture through a software program and it would try to optically recognise what lettering and number were present in the picture. In the end, I would have a text of what is written on the US Declaration of Independence.
    Is that what you want?

  • Why is firefox randomly playing advertisment clips that are not present on the screen?

I just downloaded Firefox 4 and now whenever I choose a new website or search, some kind of advertisement clip plays. I cannot find any ad box to close it or pause it, but it cuts itself off after about 30-60 seconds. If I stay on the website it repeats the same ad again. (Even on this site I have had random ad clips playing). I am not very computer literate so I don't know if its something I need to do on my end to shush these ads (preferably permanently) or something that I might need to seek help for.

  • Loading samples into GarageBand

My recently obtained Mellotron samples, in .aif file format, load into GarageBand using the loop utility by dropping into the track timeline area. This creates a loop which plays fine and can be searched for and seen in the loop browser window. So far, so good. But how do I get these Mellotron sounds to play on a keyboard as a software instrument? I've tried Library>Application Support>GarageBand>Instrument Library>Track Settings>Software as a route in which to put the files but still no go. Suggestions appreciated!

If you want to do it correctly, purchase the G-Force M-Tron software instrument. It comes in Apple Audio Unit format. It costs US$129 list from M-Audio in the States, and £99 from G-Force
    http://www.gforcesoftware.com/ViewProduct.do?p=M-Tron
And it's endorsed by Rick Wakeman.
It's got all the original Mellotron tapes and then some, with every second of every tape and no looping.

  • Harddrive making noise..?

I have two HD on my macpro one is 750 gigs and the other is 250. When I write to the 750 gigs it makes like a clicking noise almost..is this normal?

    Hello Javicbr,
Seems like all the Seagate high capacity drives make noise. Unfortunately, this is normal. When the heads are seeking, it almost sounds like microwaving a bag of popcorn (in the distance of course).
I have a 7200.9 500GB (stock) and two 7200.10 750GB. When video capturing, you can hear the drives "chattering" from the next room. I'm not thrilled with this and I may look for other alternatives.

  • 5 year old iMac, screen stays black on startup.

This 5 year old iMac makes the seek optical drive sound when switched on, but does not chime, but I can hear the hard drive going afterwards.
The screen just stays black, not a flicker.
The problem is that it is located in a small pretty isolated town in NE Brazil, I will be going back out there later in the summer so if anyone has any helpful ideas it would be most welcome. Fortunately we have a full CCC clone of the hard drive and a working MBP so we haven't lost anything, but it would be very good to have it working again.
Does it have a socket for an external monitor, I really cannot remember, as I have not seen it since November, I know the old round iMacs had one.
The nearest Mac store is probably in Rio or Sao Paulo which are a good day travelling by  car and plane so there is no chance of getting it there.
Any useful thoughts? I will be pleased to hear them, anything to try we can probably do over a week or so.
    Many thanks in advance

Yes it shouldn't be that difficult. You can tell her to try some basic resets too, they won't hurt and might help. First is try resetting the SMC and PRAM. It's OK to do these multiple times, also trying to restarting in Safe Mode may work. For the SMC and PRAM resets I  will print the instructions below. To do a Safe Mode restart, hold down the Shift Key when the startup tone is heard, if she can see a progress bar appear release Shift key and let it fully boot. Then restart normally to test. If the screen is still black then the LCD or the graphics card has probably failed. In that case it's probably best to just replace the whole computer as the expense of repair will be difficult to justify.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Seek to a particular location for MONO sounds not working in AS3

    Hi Guys,
I am facing an issue seeking to a particular location for
MONO sounds with sample rate 22KHz. Another thing I observed was
that there is a problem seeking to positions greater than half the
total length of the actual sound, otherwise it is working fine. I
have been trying to test this in a browser.
Any ideas or thoughts will really help me.
    Cheers,
    TarXXXXX

I am not streaming the sound from FMS, it is normal
progressive download with audios placed local alongside my swf
file. It works fine for 44 KHz sounds.

  • Seeking a LogicPro bass that sounds good on earbuds or heavy speakers?

Some people will listen to my music on earbuds and some through speakers with heavy magnets -- the bass sound in particular is notably different in these two venues. I'm seeking a bass instrument (guitar? upright? unknown?) that can be heard over the full range of speakers, from the nearly nonexistent bass inside an Air, to the acceptable but low fidelity earbuds, to heavy floor speakers with the ability to shake the windows. I don't want to shake the windows, but I do want to be heard through the Air. Can these two extremes ever meet for a bass instrument?

    You statement is very interesting.
I suppose its a sound driver issue lets hope Toshiba will publish an new sound driver update. This should helps

  • Bug in Flash? Mono sounds can't seek past first half (and report sound.length wrong)

I'm working on an mp3 player in AS3 and I just discovered
what appears to be a bug in the Sound class when loading mono
mp3's. The "length" property is reported as twice the actual length
while the file loads. The moment it's complete, the length property
    snaps to the correct value.
Also, even after the file is completely loaded, it is
impossible to seek to anywhere past the halfway point of the audio.
This means that if a user "pauses" the audio and then hits the play
button again (anywhere in the second half of the file), it won't
    actually play.
I found a post about this from someone on this forum back in
2005, but it doesn't seem to be resolved. I've been specifically
testing 22khz mono mp3's. 44khz stereo ones work fine, so my guess
is that it has something to do with Mono.
Can anyone help? I can post examples and source code if
    necessary. Thank you! --Ben

I'm banging my head because I can't find a solution to make my arch-install detect an audio CD
I assume that you mean the optical drive. I don't see a /dev/sr0 in /dev
Does it show up with lsblk or parted -l?
Looks like it's a LiteOn drive.
You can play an audio CD.
    mplayer cdda://
    mpv cdda://track[−endtrack][:speed][/device] −−cdrom−device=PATH
An audio CD doesn't have a mountable file system on it.

  • Seeking Sound Blaster recommendations for a notebook

I'm looking for a solution for a notebook which provides OpenAL and EAX 5.0 support for my games which use those. Ease of portability is not an overwhelming factor, though it would be appreciated. Most (≈ 95%) of my gaming as well as general notebook use is done with headphones, but I occasionally use external speakers; lack of 7.1-channel support isn't a deal breaker, but it, or even just 5.1-channel support, would be nice to have. With regard to this notebook, audio immersiveness in games is a greater priority than audio immersiveness in, say, movies, but I'm seeking a solution that is performant across-the-board. From what I can gather, and unfortunately I don't have info on the Sound Blaster X7 or any other near-future products, my options are:
    1) Sound Blaster E5
    2) Sound Blaster X-Fi HD
    3) Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3 software (for Realtek ALC892, if supported)
    4) Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro
    5) Sound Blaster Recon3D
    6) Sound Blaster X-Fi Go! Pro
    7) Sound Blaster Play! 2
I've ranked these highest to lowest by what I expect the quality to be (and my guesstimate may be completely wonky), but I would appreciate any feedback. It's unclear to me if any of the aforementioned X-Fi branded products actually offer hardware-accelerated EAX, although the X-Fi HD, which has a CA0189 chip, is advertised as offering it (http://www.soundblaster.com/products...r-X-Fi-HD.aspx), as is the Sound Blaster X-Fi Go! Pro (http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Sound.../dp/B0044DEDC0). I know the Sound Core3D/SB-Axx1 products use Host OpenAL. I also don't know if any of the seven above would conflict with Sound Blaster Cinema 2 software.

    Hi James,
Thanks for your question. If you want a device that would work well with LabVIEW, why not use NI hardware! All of our hardware work seamlessly with LabVIEW and they are all supported by National Instruments as well.
We have a range of modules that would be suitable for your application. If you prefer one of our engineers could even come onsite (free of charge) and talk to you about your application and how you plan to use your NI card. We have branches all over the world so you would be supported no matter where you are. As you know we also have local support in the UK.
For more information please call 01635 523 545 and ask to speak with one of our Sales Engineers.
I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Seeking LR5 Solution for Dolby 5.1 sound

Many AVCHD video cameras (including models from SONY and Panasonic) have the ability to record Dolby 5.1 surround sound.
These sound tracks can be played on any Windows 7 system with Windows Media Player.  They can be played and edited in Premiere CS6 and (I think) also Premiere Elements.
UNFORTUNATELY Lightroom has no codec for Dolby 5.1 sound.  Therefore any video recorded with Doolby 5.1 sound encoding is SILENT when played in Lightroom!  Furthermore, such video clips published from Lightroom are typically also without sound (unless publishing the unedited clip in original format).
Adobe seems unwilling to pay the licensing fees to Dolby Labs to include this playback capability.   Surprising, and disappointing.
This problem was there from the beginning in LR4.   It appears that LR5 is no better (for this problem).
Has anyone found a good solution or workaround?   It seems silly that it can't work better.  Is anyone offering a plug-in to enable Dolby 5.1 sound playback?

I'm facing exactly the same problem... I'm very disappointed since this problem has been reported to Adobe at the early beginning of LR4 and they haven’t change anything with LR4 RC1/2 or LR5. I see basically two ways for a workaround:
    1) Import the original files and find a way to enable LR to payback Dolby 5.1
    2) Convert the original files before importing them into Lightroom
    1) That is definitively the best way since we don't touch the original data, but I'm not sure such a plug-in exist. This way would even be better if we assume that one day Adobe will enable Dolby 5.1 playback within LR.
    2) That is probably the only possible way. I've done some testing; it is really time consuming and worst the original data will be changed.
    >> Does anybody have any good advice for converting files?
    Lee Jay a écrit:
I guess my approach would be to use a transcoder like MediaCoder or Handbrake to copy the video (direct stream copy, no transcoding) while stripping the audio down to two channels.
