Seeking general knowledge of functional areas(FI, CO HR, SD, MM, CRM)

Hello Experts,
I do come across this phrase in my job searches:
"knowledge in at least 1-2 functional areas. (FI, CO HR, SD, MM, CRM)"
Can you help or direct me to get a general overview of these functional areas?

Friends,
I have less experience in BI and want to be keen knowledge on other modules which has linked with BI. I would like to extend my knowledge on functional areas as SD, PP, MM and FI based on BI. If want to get good experience on this, what are the main key areas I have to be concentrate? and where should I start to learn? and what are the things to learn? I mean to say is as a SAP BI consultant with knowledge on function areas (SD, MM, PP and FI).

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

However, since it works with other networks that really suggests a problem with your network.

Functional area(FKBER( field in the selection screen))

I have a requirement to add functional area field in the selection screen for a report painter report. This report using library 1VK and table 'CCSS'. I added functional area field in the general data selection . After the execution of report with functional area field filled with value. report not giving any output. do i need to maintain any setting to achieve?

1. Call GR22 and click "Characteristics".
2. Check FKBER and assign a position number to it.
3. Save and close the library.
4. Call your report in GRR2 and you should now see FKBER as an available characteristic.
5. Use it in the General Data Selection or as a Lead Column, as per requirement.
Or,
1. Call GR21 and create a custom library. Provide a name and description and also provide a library you can copy from (scan for the best-fit library).
2. Now follow the steps 2 through 5 above to achieve your result.

FAGLL03 doesn't display functional areas

Dear All,
Whenever we run the FAGLL03- Display GL line item report, it's not displaying the functional area value for some line items (for some it displays), even though the original posted document shows the functional area value. I would appreciate if anyone provides solution for this issue.

Hi Arun,
Check if note 1151397 is applied. Then check point 52 of note 1070629.
The functional area is determined as in classic General Ledger
Accounting. That is, the functional area characteristic is not
determined until documents are saved.
By default, after activation of New General Ledger, the reports only
read the tables for New GL Accounting if the the indicator 'read
from Classical GL' is not set in table FAGL_ACTIVEC.
I hope this helps. I'm taking a guess here since I don't know your system.

Financial statement version:functional area

Hi,
I created a financial statement version with functional area and run it(S_PL0_86000032 ) , most items are correct, however, the item which assigned function area always 0, this means that system can not get any data via function area. would anyone help me?

If you want to define a financial statement version with functional areas, these functions are limited. You cannot use the following functions:
        Balance-Dependent Display
You cannot display functional areas dependent on the balance, that is, assign them to a different item dependent on the balance.
·        Debit/Credit Shift
You cannot define items to which you have assigned functional areas as debit/credit shift items.
·        Check for Completeness
You cannot use the check for completeness for financial statement versions with functional areas.
You also have to carry out the following additional activities:
       1.      When you enter the general data, set the Functional area permitted indicator.
You then have the option of assigning either accounts or functional areas to an item in your financial statement version.
       2.      Assign the required functional areas or functional area intervals to your P&L items

Sustitution for Functional Area in CO

Hi,
I have defined a substitution step for functional area. When I run activity allocation I receive a messge (KI176) that the functional area has been changed. Despite this, when I review the final document, the functional area is the standard pre-substitution one.
General explanation - the original functional area is derived from the sender cost cented. I am changing it to a different one.
Please advice,

Problem of Functional Area in Allocation

Dear All
We want to allocate some ADMIN Cost Centres which have "x" Functional Area with Secondary Cost Element (SCE) which *does not* have any Functional Area to BRAND Cost Centre which doesnot have any Functional Area using a Secondary Cost Element (SCE) which has "Y" Functional Area.
The Cycle is Dr & Cr the correct cost Centre,and forcing both Functional Are,so in the P&L report in the collector cost centers we see a debit still sitting in FA X (because it didnu2019t clear) and a credit in FA Y (because it was forced).
We tried everything within the cycle to make this work correctly; derive functional area checked and unchecked, each with forcing correct sender and receiver functional areas within the cycle and even removing the functional area from the SCE "Y" with various options above,but still the problem persists,Can any one Guide how to do ,is there any Note available

check SAPNET note 764485, especially point 2 and 3:
"2. Set the functional area derivation of characteristics so that the functional area is already derived on the entry screen, and not when you are posting as is the case in earlier releases. For more information, see Note 740519.
To capitalize the functional area derivation on the entry screen, proceed as follows: Financial Accounting (New) -> Financial Accounting Basic Settings (New) -> Tools -> Customer Enhancements -> Enhance Determination of Functional Area.
3. To set the update of the functional area in the CO totals tables, proceed as follows: Controlling -> General Controlling -> Include Characteristics in CO Totals Records. You can activate the update of the characteristics can independently."

Document splitting characteristic - functional area

I try to Define Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger Accounting - I need to do splitting by functional area, but although I assigned Scenario FIN_UKV - Cost of Sales Accounting, I do not see functional area as possible splitting characteristic.
Have anyone faced such problem already?

SAP T-Codes with Functiona Area, Business Process, Sub-Process wise details

I am Involved in GRC AC5.3 implementation Project. In this we need to work on complete Role-Redesign Process, which involves building of New Roles as per their requirement (Transaction used in past one Year). We find 3500 T-Codes, which are used by the client from past one year. We need to segregate the All the T-Codes into Functiona Area, Business Process, Sub-Process wise.
*Is there any data source available on Complete information on SAP T-Codes with Functiona Area, Business Process, and Sub-Process wise details.

As per my knowledge, Since the role design is more specific to any client there is no standard classification.
However you can classify them taking leverage of sap provided rule set for RAR or Existing customized ruleset in your landscape, based on that you can start grouping the Tcodes and start framing the roles.

Functional Area Issue

I need to correct a functional area difference that has occurred in few of our GL accounts. Originally, some of our order numbers were set up to only allow posting to cost/profit center 123456. This was incorrect, so the order numbers were changed to allow posting to cost/profit center 456789. I reclassed the entries that had been posted to 123456, but the functional area changed. So now, I am out of balance between functional areas 65432 and 98765 and it is causing errors in some of the reports we run. Is there a way I might book an entry to zero out the functional areas affected? I have attached the GL activity for reference.

I tried debiting and crediting the same account with the same cost center but different functional areas. I believe even if the functional area is generally derived from the cost center a manual override will take a preference.I made all the accounts and cost centers the same, but I do not see an option where I can manually override what gets posted to the functional area.
Can you send me the screen shots to do the same?

Change in the functional area impact

The budget data was stored at a Cost Center level. The cost center was assigned to a Functional Area ahich was changed on a later date. The data for the cost centers that were migrated from the old to new functional area was locked. Any changes that i make to the cost centers impact the new Functional area.how do i proceed ? is it possible to erase the data stored in the previous functional area?

A bit more detailed explanation of the prob:
The General Marketing Budget data was stored in ECC at Cost Center level, on the 17th of January (using SAP transaction: KP06) At that time, all the General marketing Cost Centers (Gen Mkt CCu2019s) were assigned to the Functional Area H240.
By the 27th of Januaryu20192012, the functional area of some GenMkt CCu2019s was changed to the new GenMkt u2013 Product Manager functional area (Q240).
This mean that for the CCu2019s that migrated from H240 to Q240, budget data is u201Clockedu201D in H240 functional area. Weu2019ve tried to delete Budget planning for these cost centers (using transaction KP06) but data remains in H240. Any changes that we make for these CCu2019s (delete/overwrite), impact the new functional area (Q240).
How should we proceed? Is it possible to erase the General Marketing data stored in the 17th of January?
