Seeking problem when the video is replayed?
Hi all,
I developed a flv player, I am able to play a video and seek any where in the when the video is played at first
if I perform seek when the video is replaying NetStream.Play.Stop event is generating and the video is stoped playing
any work around ?

I've got the same problem with downloaded ICS Event Reminders. They will save on local device, iPhone5, but will not sync to iCloud automatically like it should and did in iOS7. It will sync if you manually modify the Event Reminder in some way after the ICS is saved, but "that's not how any of this works"!
Even worse for me, downloaded ICS Reminders won't fire an alert on the device it was saved on yet alone sync.
The Event Reminder shows in the Notification Center, but does not fire Alerts, just sits in the Calendar silently.
There has to be a bug in the "Add To Calendar" function at the bottom of the save screen.
I've even emailed myself Event Reminders created with iCal, deleted the Reminder and then saved the ICS from the email. Won't sync to iCloud and won't fire an Alert for the event.
Bummer for me and anyone else dependent on saving ICS to iCal.
iOS 8...just amazing stuff here.
I suggest filing a bug report with Apple on this apparent bug so it may receive attention and get fixed in the next update.

As Tom states, that's interlacing.
Interlacing was invented when the TV was born, to carry 1/5 the frame with each Hz of the electricity rating. In the US, that's why you use 30 fps (or 29.nnn) in the US and we use 25 fps in europe as the electricity is 60Hz/50Hz.
Interlaced video should ONLY (I repeat ONLY) be used for analog TV signal transports.
Each and every digital TV set today, including all the computer screens, is Progressive, updating the full frame at each screen refresh. And most TV's even refresh much quicker, newest TV's refresh a 800Hz..! (giving then problems with the newest LTE spectums..)
If your source media in interlaced, ask why! And stop shooting interlaced.. ;-)
If you have interlaced video, make sure you apply the DeInterlace setting when you import and transcode it. -
My Mac pro tower has an "ATI Radion hd 2600 XT" video card, and it stopped getting signal to my tv, are there common problems known? How can I troubleshoot this problem when the signal isn't reaching the screen?

I am trying to connect my Sony DCR-TRV350 to iMovie so that I can make DVD's from family videos. I am having problems getting the video camera connected. Any advice on how to do this?
What happens when, after you connect your cam, you go to File > Import Media?
But before that, does your cam require you to export your video files upon USB connection? I have a JVC Everio HD and I have to "Export to Library" from the cam's menu first-thing. This was true even in prior iMovie versions. -
I need full screen video to automagically reduce back to the page when the video is done.

I want to use the "Full-screen only" option in the media widget, but when the video reaches the end it drops to a black frame and just sits there. I need it to realize the video is over and shrink back down to the widget in the page.
Similarly (and somewhat less importantly)... when a video is done, is there a way to get the widget to reset so it shows the original poster frame instead of the black frame?Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Audio problem when importing video files.
Hello everyone,
I just started using FCP X a few days ago for a university project and I seem to encounter an audio problem when importing videos in .mp4, .mov format or via the import from camera option.
Indeed I need to import videos in .mp4 and .mov format into FCP X. The import in itself is normal I can see my videos into the events/clips library and if I play them from the library I can hear the sound quite perfectly.
However, when I want to edit my videos and put it in the timeline, there is no audio. As a result I started to think that my videos could be the problem so I tried the option "import from camera" option using the Isight camera of my macbook pro but the same things happened. I could hear the sound from the events/clips library but not from the timeline (I can't see any audiowaves in the timeline).
I found a solution using quicktime and extracting the audio of the video in .m4a then importing the videos files and the audi files corresponding but it's a long process and a waste of time as FCP X should be able to import the audio of my video into the timeline directly. Especially if it can read it from events/clips library.
I hope I explained myself clearly and you could help me resolve my problem.

You have an incorrect setting when you edit. Try trashing your preferences. Post screen shots of your timeline and toolbar. -
How can i fix a clip when the video and audio are not matching up?
How can i fix a clip when the video and audio are not matching up? I imported the video from a junkdrive in a .VOB format and concerted to a .mov the videos were filmed on a miniDVD recorder.
I would try detaching the audio and the dragging the audio to the left or right until it lines up.

My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously. I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long. I'm frustrated and I could really use some advice-my kids basketball games is what I'm recording and I'm trying to send them to my family (they are not very tech savvy). Thanks
Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)

Problems with the videos in the gallery
Hi guys,
I am experiencing problems viewing the videos from the gallery on my Nokia N8-00. Turns out I have 24 recorded videos, but these do not appear in the gallery of images, only in the menu "Videos". Before I could see them in the gallery, but do not know what happened.
I've tried to copy the videos to the computer and then pass them back to the phone, but only appear in Videos menu, no at gallery.

Iam trying to import a short video in final cut express and I'm getting this error... File Error: 1 file(s) recognized. 0 access denied, 1 unknown. How do I solve this problem? The video is on my desktop and it's an mpg file. Please help me
Get a copy of MPEG Streamclip and convert your MPG file to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC). In FCE, select one of the setups that uses AIC that best matches your clip (say, 1920x1080i60). Create a new sequence, then import the converted file.
Note that if your MPG file is actually MPEG2 you will also need the QuickTime MPEG2 Component in addition to MPEG Streamclip.
What was the source of the MPG file? How about if you open it in QuickTime, then do Window > Show Movie Inspector. Tell us what it says for codec/compression, frame size & frame rate. -
Is it possible to use markers in a Premiere Pro sequence such as Chapter / Comment / Segmentation and export the XMP metadata for a database so that when the video is used as a Video On-Demand resource, a viewer can do a keyword search and jump to a related point in the video?

No idea why that was suggested.
You may have a third party video player installed that's causing an incompatibility issue.

The first four locations listed are in the root-level Library on your hard disk, not the user-level Library in your Home folder.The tilde (~) represents your Home folder.

I was faced with the legendary defect MacBook 2011. Problems with the video chip. Heard about what Apple makes replacement chips for free. My friend a year ago made the change in the service center. Is this true now?
Since Apple says that some copy protected DVD's will not function with Disk Sharing, you may need to "clone" the DVD, using the MBP, to a flash drive, and use the flash drive to perform the installation of the software.
Another alternative is to download and install the Trial version from the Microsoft Office For Mac website, and then use the activation code provided with the DVD to activate the full version install of the trial. -
