Seem to be losing a lot of HDD Space - How to get it back?
Seem to be recently losing at least 40GB of HDD Space when only 10GB should be gone?
How to reset Mac to get it back to normal - recently had 130Gb now down to 91GB, cleared at least 30GB of hdd space also, seem to have done nothing!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!

Download and install GrandPerspective, a "small utility application for Mac OS X that graphically shows the disk usage within a file system". Perhaps it'll help you figure out where all that space is being used.

All of my titles, themes and generators seem to be completely missing from Final cut pro x. Do you know how to get them back?
Do you mean that when you click the title browser, for example, nothing is there?
Do you at least see several categories listed in the effects browser?
First make sure that you have nothing typed into the search box (not even spaces).
If you still see nothing, try this in order:
1) Window->Revert to Original Layout
2) Quit FCP X, delete preferences using Preference Manager (a free download from Digital Rebellion)
3) Download FCS Remover, and use it to completely remove FCP X. This will NOT delete your content, just the application.
4) Reinstall FCP X from the Mac App Store: log in with the same Apple ID that you used to buy FCP X, click on "Purchases", locate FCP X and click Install. -
After upgrading my software i have seem to have lost all my contacts and photos, i did a back up but i have no idea how to get them back on? maybe im illiterate but i dont know how to find it in my itunes? please help!!

My 2 year old has deleted my 'apps store' icon and I cannot figure out how to get it back? Doesn't seem to be available in the on-line apps store, ironically enough
He dragged the icon out of the dock at the bottom and disappeared. That icon is merely a "shortcut" that opens the application when you click on it.
You still have the app. Open your applications folder and look for the App Store app icon. Click and hold down on the App Store icon and drag the icon down into the dock to replace it. That puts the shortcut back into the dock. -
I am running 10.5.8. New to mac. Cannot find iCal in apps. folder. Seems to have disappeared. Any suggestions on how to get it back?

If you are certain that iCal is no longer present on your computer...
To reinstall iCal:
1. Insert the Leopard Installation disk into the computer.
2. The disk will appear on the desktop.
3. Double click on the "Optional Installs" folder.
4. Double click on the "Optional Installs.mpkg."
5. Click on (Continue) in Introduction.
6. Click on (Continue) in Software License Agreement.
7. Click on (Agree) to agree to the terms of the software license agreement.
8. Click on the disclosure arrow ▶ next to Applications.
9. Select (✓) iCal.
10. Click (Continue).
11. After iCal has been reinstalled, download and install the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update to bring iCal up to the most recent version. -
I don't seem to have an align/unalign check box option anymore for tools like the clone and healing brush. PS CC14 Anyone know how to get it back?

Main HDD formatted. How to get music back into iTunes?

I've just had a bit of a disaster. My main (internal) HDD became corrupted and I was forced to format, losing all my data.
Not too much of a problem, as my iTunes library was stored on an external concatenated RAID. I did, however, lose the two files in the default Music folder -- the XML one and one other (I forget what it's called, But I know it's important!).
No matter -- I don't really care about ratings, playcounts, etc. What I want to do, however, now that I've reinstalled and get everything up to date, is point iTunes at the external drive, get it to recognise the songs, movies, etc, and rebuild it's library. However, I don't want to copy the files -- I don't have another external drive and there's not enough room on the RAID for two copies of everything, even temporarily...
Hope I've explained this okay. In a nutshell -- how to point iTunes at my song files and get it to recognise them?
(I want iTunes to automatically organise my music, I don't want to do it manually).
It is imperative that iTunes does not destroy these files -- I don't have a backup and won't have one until i can afford more HDD space in a few weeks time... (dangerous, I know...)
Any help much appreciated.

You cannot do this with iPhoto, but you can with PhotoPresenter.

Unknow objects taking a lot of HDD space?
Hi!
When i look at my HDD status, i see that a lot of my HDD is occupied by "Other" marked as yellow. But it also says that the yellow field is 0 K?
I have uploaded a pic.
Can anyone tell med what this can be?

HDD Unmounted, can't get it back
Hi guys,
I think this one is my fault, so hopefully some one out there can save me
I was using TechTool Pro 4 to scan and optimise the HDD's ... there are 3 x 300gig Maxtors (files and work stuff) & 1 x 120gig WD (programs only) inside.
I started to optimize my No.2 HDD and did not notice after, that it did not mount back onto the desk top, so using TechTools again I searched for the drive and found it only comes up and shows in the TEST (drives) section .. all other sections do not show it.
So I went to Disk Utility to repair the volume
The message reads as follows:
Verify and Repair disk “2.Main System Storage1”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Invalid B-tree node size
Volume check failed.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
1 HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error
this is repeated with each try
So ... out comes DISK WARRIOR
I started out with v 3.0.2 and because of Tiger it could not optimize any of the volumes, so I updated it to v 3.0.3
Bingo all volumes recignised... except HDD 2
Message reads as follows:
The directory of the disk "2.Main System Storage1" cannot be rebuilt.
The disk was not modified. The original directory is too severely damaged. It appears another disk utility has erased critcal information. (3004, 2176)
Now... if you guys can't help me, my last resort is to contact Alsoft techical to see if they can help recover the disk and get it mounted ... but I guess I trust the people that use the stuff 24/7 more.
I am really stuck, because this HDD has all the business operation files, invoices, Music files, mpeg's created for customers etc etc ....
PLEASE SOME ONE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ... AAAAHHHHHH

I tried to restore using Disk Utilities, but was not sure what would happen + got confused with source / desination / image ... no idea
can't think of anything else I did or did not do ..

I Recently updated my mac book pro to sox mountain lion v10.8 and appear to have lost my email edit button which allowed me mark multiple emails then delete those marked en masse. I now have to delete individually. Can any one advise how to correct this please. Thanks.

Well, lets try;
Toshiba display driver contains the overheating protection for GPU and therefore you should use the driver from the driver page.
Secondly I recommend setting the BIOS to default settings and to save the changes.
Do you get this issue running the notebook with AC adaptor connected or only with battery??
Please check the Win 7 power management settings. There are plenty of options one of these options controls the CPU and cooling module performance.
So now I hope you will get rid of this issue and that I will get the 7 Victoria Secret girls I am waiting :) -

OK, it's called Connect Bar. Just remove it from Extensions and re-start. This is still malware.
