Seemingly trivial but can't see to do it

Hi,
I always liked using the arrow keys for moving objects in situations where I need more precise control e.g. I use this technique in Photoshop all the time. Is there a trick to using arrow keys in PrE 9? For example, I'm trying to position my text on my video layer but I seem to be able to move it around only using my mouse. Is there not a way to use the arrow keys to move objects like that?
Also, in once situation, I needed to put a white background behind my text to make it more legible. So I placed a white rectangle behind it. Then I tried centering the text inside the box. I used "Align Objects" from the right click menu but the Vertical and Horizontal Align just didn't do the trick. The idea was the center the text inside the box with equal margin around the text.
Such trivial things seem to become challenges for me. Is it me or can you not do these things in PrE 9?

One thing that might prove useful is an alignment grid, as outlined and provided in this ARTICLE.
There is also a pair of alignment tools in Titler - vertical and horizontal center for alignment.
For a Feature Request, see this ARTICLE. I've filled in one from PrE 4, but no luck so far.

Just got my first MAC and love it.
I do however have loads of files on my VISTA PC that I am trying to access from it. I have set-up sharing so I can see the Vista Machine and Folders from my MAC, however the Folders always seem empty ie. I can open the Vista Folder but can;t see what's in it.
Any ideas?

Is the Vista PC asking for a Password? It should & needs to be setup for one if not.
Also, what happens when in the Finder>Go menu>Connect to Server, and then type the ip of the vista pc in the windows, like...

You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com.

Numbers doesn't have pages. It has a canvas that holds objects such as tables and charts.
Drag the objects from the bottom of the canvas onto the white space above. That will reduce the number of "pages" (sheets of paper) that will print.

I can play my own tunes by selecting them on my iMAC and directing them to Apple TV. I think that I should be able to see my entire library on Apple TV shouldn't I?
Am up-to-date with iTunes and using Mavericks OS. I am connecting to Apple TV with an Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-FI and a brand new Apple TV.

Okay, so HomeSharing is not working. Most likely due to a network issue.
Is the ATV and computer running iTunes actually on the same network? Many new routers create seperate networks for the wired and wireless portions of the local network.

Missing in this equation were the version of Premiere Elements that you were using and the computer operating system on which it was running. But...
The deed is done. But.....Until now and after you went ahead and moved to version 12, we now learn what version of Premiere Elements you were using. We still do not know the computer operating system involved.
You just said Premiere Elements 10. Premiere Elements 10 is hit by a serious known display issue if the computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card. In this issue, the only remedy is to roll back the driver version to about May 2013. The description of the problem and how to do the roll back are described in one of the Announcements at the top of this forum. What video card/graphics card does your computer use?
On another front, Adobe will be releasing a new version of Premiere Elements any day now. No one but Adobe knows the feature set for the new version. That type of information is announced at the moment of release of the new version.
So the remedy to the problem that you presented in this thread could have been...
1. Rolling back the NVIDIA GeForce driver version to about May 2013 if possible (Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, may not be possible)
2. Move to another version of Premiere Elements (which you did)
I offer the above for consideration so that you can review your decisions. We are pleased to learn that Premiere Elements 12/12.1 works for you.

Thanks Kurt! I had tried all that and had tried closing both programmes from the application monitor, but SyncServices Agent refused to close. I tried closing Launchd which is their mother application, but that just caused the screen go go blank. In the end the two programmes let themselves be closed next time I tried the installation process so all was well. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check the location setting for the iTunes Store is correct.
You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
If you are still having problems try a restore.

Would like to move iPod touch files to my new Windows 8 computer -- read on how to do this, but this involves being able to see the hidden fiels -- but can not see hidden files...any suggestions. Would like to transfer these files from iPod Touch to new laptop without software -- is that possible -- if not can anyone recommend a good free software to use?

There is no way to do so without software. I recently had a similiar task and was suggested to use iExplorer. It worked like a charm.

ISight, other person CAN listen but CAN'T see me on Video-Conference online

My iSight is recognized by Skype, iChat, etc..
But not by Wengomeeting Video-Conference (free chatting online with NO applications and NO downloads).
The other person can hear me but can NOT see me.
The other person is using a PC.
Can anyone help??

As discussed in Email, wengomeeting and MeBeam this is a Web based Site that uses Flash.
This means somewhere there is a setting (or in the case of Mebeam an Automatic pop up) of the Control for allowing your camera to be used by the Web browser.
Part of this is setting it to the spec for your camera
