Seems to be a bad update
Hopefully some people check these forums regularly, which I will surely start to do. Seems to be a bug in the new update - I suggest not letting your iPhone battery run out, or hope you never need to reset. I had to restore, and I'm sure I've not only lost data in my apps (daily planner!! argh) but photos of my newborn baby smiling (very rare, double argh!!!) Just make sure you sync/ backup daily!! and don't forget to independently backup your app data
I've had no problem with the 3.1.3 update and letting the battery run all the way down. About once a month, I let the battery discharge all the way and then I fully recharge it.
A reset is no different than rebooting a computer. A reset won't cause a loss of data.

restart, reset, restore.
Have you checked your settings to make sure that you do not have something running that you do not want to run? -
I currently use OS 10.6.8 and Aperture 3, and just got a Nikon D600. It seems the the RAW Compatibility updates (4.01) are for use only with OS 10.7.5 or later, is that right? Do I need to update my whole OS to use this camera? Thank you!
Thanks to Bobthefisherman & Turbostar. Turns out I've got a corrupted disk (which I found out via "verify disk" on Disk Utility First Aid. Previously, I never thought to verify disk -- only to repair permissions -- so I never knew my HD had been corrupted.
Wasn't able to do a clean install of OSX10.6 because my SuperDrive only sporadically will load discs, so I am taking it to the Apple Store to see if they can do a clean install, and depending upon costs, get the Superdrive replaced.
The HD wasn't partioned by the way. And I did have just over 40GB of contiguous space.

I updated to Acrobat Pro 9.5.5, now I want to delete the bad update.
I updated to Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 and it won't print a pdf, all it does is stall at the very beginning of the printing and hangs up. Adobe: How Do I Delete this bad update? I need to use this as a pdf maker. Thanks for your help.
It deletes the entire program (just click on the link and that is what it tells you). The only way I know to backup is to reinstall. When you say it will not print a PDF, I assume you mean create one from some other application using the Adobe PDF printer. It is probably worth trouble shooting the issue a bit as it may be a simple problem.
First, what os are you running, and if Windows xx is it 32 or 64-bit? Have you tried to print to file with the printer and then opening the file in Distiller to complete the creation? If that works, is AcroTray running in the background? You may actually have to stop it if it is and restart it (it is located in the Acrobat folder). -
I cant seem to be able to update to iOS 6.1 through my PC for my iPhone 5...The error reads: 'There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone 'Thomas Honiball'. You do not have permission to access the requested resource".... please help!!
Only developer's have access to iOS 6 now. Thus, if you are a developer you have have access to the developer's forum for iOS 6.
Otherwise you have a bootleg copy and are on yur own./ -

How do I update my iPad 2 to iOS 5, I tried going to settings,general ,software update but I can't seem to find the software update button pls help :)
Go to Settings > General > About and see what iOS version you are running. If it is lower than 5, you won't find the software update button. It was added when iOS 5 came out. The current iOS is 5.1.1. To update to the current OS, you'll need to connect to the computer you sync with (this is important - do not connect to a computer you do not sync with as you will lose you apps) and update the software in iTunes. Once you have updated to the 5.1.1, the software update button will be in Settings going forward. Make sure you have a lot of time. Updating from below 5 to 5 or higher is a somewhat lengthy process.

This really ***** that they sent out and update to the iPhone ISO6 and I can't send or receive pics! Being that its apple you would think they would know better than to send out a bad update like this! I'm paying for a service and I can even use now!!! I'm very upset! We regularly use Cocktail by Maintain software. You run the whole gamut of options but the important one is in System - Databases - Rebuild launch services. Also in Files - Caches - then clear the lot.
This is just houskeeping really but there are so many 'links' in A/cad it needs 'cleaning' -

I am in the midst of setting up my new iPad Air, and the process seems to be stuck on "Updating iCloud settings..." What is a reasonable time for this step to take?
Shouldn't take more than a few seconds to a minute. If it's stuck, you might want to give Apple support a call to see if they are experiencing unreported server issues. Since your device is new, you are within the 90-day free call support period. You can set up the call here: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/. You will need your serial number, which is on the box and (I believe) the back of your iPad.

I am having an issue at the moment with my MacBook Pro updating anything! Here is a list of the problems I'm getting.
- App store is not loading correctly and cannot navigate or select updates for my programs/apps installed on my computer (see photo).
- iTunes store will not load correctly in the window, same issues as App store.
- iTunes gives errors to both the iPad and iPhone when trying to update them to iOS 4.3.5 saying it could not contact iPhone Software update server.
- A download of an album on iTunes resulted in only 3 of 13 songs being able to be downloaded, the rest had "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." errors 8007 and 12004.
- The most recent OSX software will not download with the following error, "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." I have tried this on at least 4-5 separate occasions over 3 days with the exact same errors. Same error for minor update to iWeb although updates to iDVD and Remote desktop updated successfully.
iTunes software will not update giving similar errors. It goes on and all seems to be server related.
Where do I start? This is crazy and I really want to upgrade to lion but can't connect do anything.
Thank You.Ok seem to have cracked it. Seems to be a DNS setting. There were no obvious differences between Ethernet and Wireless in the settings as you suggested I check.
I recalled having changed from one network location to a copied location at one stage to correct something on a previous network. So I switched over and gave the old, unchanged one a test. Under the original location iTunes, App store and Facebook (which was performing badly too) worked sweet. Changed back to the location I was using and they ground to a halt again.
When I compared the two locations against each other I discovered the only differences were in the DNS tab. There were two others that were being used in the problem location setting, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. So yeah. I assume that was causing issues for certain websites/web based programs.

Solaris 8 x86 doesn't ask for default route at install time
The Solaris 8 installation program doesn't ask what the machine's default route should be. This means that when you configure DNS servers later on that aren't on the same subnet as the machine you get error messages. Anyone know a work around?
