Segmentation in SAP B1 - comparison of segment-wise financial results

Dear Group,
We are in a trading industry using SAP B1 at our 15 outlets.. we have created 15 segments in SAP B1 to know the actual performance of each segment.
i would like to know how to get comparison analysis of segments in sap b1.. As p&l , b/s allow to choose only one segment. We can get the report of the selected segment at a time but we can not choose more than one segment to compare the results for analysis purpose..

If this person was an "Expert" on SAP Business One then the only way they would have changed dates would probably be directly in SQL itself. The best way to determine this would be to hope that they slipped up somewhere and forgot to change a particular date in let's say one specific table.
For invoices, start with the post date, doc date & create date. Then check each of these to the OJDT/JDT1 tables for any discrepancies. Next check the ADOC/ADO1 table for multiple instances on the invoice. If only 1 instance then check the create date, time & user as well as the aforementioned dates between OINV/INV1 & ADOC/ADO1. If multiple instances, check the dates from 1 instance to the next (This will indicate dates being changed in the system).
Next check the same dates against OINM table. If any of the dates do not tally then the SQL was changed directly.

As standard you cant get this.
A Plant would need to be linked to a Profit Center.
Do you use ERP 6.0
Perhaps you could add it as a field for document splitting. However you would then have to maintain you business splitting rules as well.
What is a plant used where you are.

Getting Segment in the Asset Master ( Using SEGMENT Badi and not Prt Ctrs)

Hi,
We need the field Segment to be populated in the Asset Master to get the correct P&L Statements ( The depreciation run, retirements etc to post to the Segments) . We are using the segment Badi: FAGL_DERIVE_SEGMENT to derive Segments and NOT the Profit Centers
However, the field Segment missing in Asset Master (Class). The field segment is missing the Time Dependent view while creating the Asset Master Data. This is so because in the Configuration of Asset Accounting --> Integration with GL --> Additional Account
Assignment Objects is not showing the Segment field.
According to SAP help, I CAN DO THIS as mentioned

But, as mentioned in the SAP help link above, I am not able to find " Activate segment reporting in

I found that activation of Business Function FIN_GL_REORG_1
or FIN_REP_SIMPL_3 could also get us the Segment Field in the Asset
Master Data's Time Dependent Field
However, when I goto Transaction SFW5 - Change Business Function Statuswe are not able to find these Business Functions (FIN_GL_REORG_1
or FIN_REP_SIMPL_3 )

Hi, Activate segment reporting is available only in EHP5.
If you'renot using EHP5, then you can't to update segment as well as profit center in asset master data.
The only way is to put co objects in asset master data, and derive PC,segment based on this co objects

DB02:Space management/Segments/Most allocated extents in any segment

Hi ,
in My SAP server: DB02 > Oracle Database Administration > Alerts > Alert monitor, there are few red alerts.
1. Space management > Segments >Most allocated extents in any segment 263 > 200 - 263 > 200: number of extents > threshold 03.03.2009 09:35:46
in RZ20 Most allocated extents in any segment having thersold value :200
Can anybody knows what it is about? How to fix this? And what are the risks if I ignore this?

Hi,
What is your Oracle database version.? If it is 9i or 10g then you can ignore this warning as from Oracle uses Localy managed Tablespaces.
Please check below mentioned SAP notes, it may help you.

Thanks for the replies. I reviewed them shortly after they were submitted but I'm also working on other projects at the same time (hence the delayed reply).
Building a time table and doing a cross join to my original resultset gave me the desired resultset of the months assigned between dates. What I can't figure out now is how to filter months I don't want.
Doing a cross join between my original resultset that had two dates:
08/27/2010
10/24/2011
and a calendar table that has 24 rows (each month for a two year period)
my new resultset looks like this:
I need to filter the rows in yellow as the months assigned for stage 3 that started on 8/27/2010 should stop when the patient was assigned to stage 4 on 10/24/2011.
You'll notice that Jan - Sept 2011 isn't listed for Stage 4 assigned on 10/24/2011 as I included a filter in the WHERE clause that states
the Months Assigned value must be greater than or equal to the date assigned value.
Any advice would be appreciated.

We have one active transaction in rbs01,now when rollback segment grows and extents are allocated to it ,if all the extents will be allocated to one data file or it can be allocated to any of the two data file.

file.I don't think so. E.g. if you have a long transaction, you will need to create a larger RB segment and allocate this segment to be used. That's why you should be using automatic undo management as opposed to manual rollback segments.

segment when undo_management parameter is set to AUTO?No, when you use automatic undo management, you create one tablespace for undo management. THere is no concept of individual rollback segments.

Division Wise Financial Statements

Hello Gurus,
My client requires Division Wise Financial Statements through Profit Centre. Document spliiting is not active, leading ledger is active but the scenarios are not assigned in assign scenarios for Profit Centre. Now we have assigned the scenario of profit centre. But while creating sales accounting document for VAT and excise line items, profit centre is not flowed. Please suggest us what we should for the same.
Can I activate document splitting now. Please suggest.

Hi Prasanna,
One advise is when document splitting functionality is not active management demands reports at below company code level as in your case divisional financial statement then Profit Center should have been made mandatory in field statues otherwise there will be potential chance of line items missing the assignment.
Your line item is not flowing to profit center for which you check the balance sheet accounts assignment in 3KEH. Check here whether you VAT and Excise accounts are lying here.
If you are working on New GL functionality and there is a need for segmental reporting then it is advisable that you start working or activating Document Splitting functionality.

We are on ECC 6.0 with New GL Active. We have three profit centers and we want to have Profit Center-wise Financial Statement (i.e. three profit center values are required in a columner format against each GL Account and a Total Value).

How to find the month wise Overall result

Hi,
calculating share percentage of order quantity based on Overal result.
if given the fiscal period range in the variable(for ex 001.2006 to 009.2006) Overall result considering sum of all Order quantity data between this range.
But need to calculate share percentage based on month wise in this fiscal period range,for this regard should consider the sum of overal result in month wise.
How to calculate the month wise overall result?

Hi Hari,
You need to enable the results row for your Month char in the query. Then use a new formula with the function %CT to get the percentage share of individual values wrt to overall result of that month.

SAP Bex: Not Enough cells to display result

Hi,
In BW 3,5 Analyzer, if user typed some values next to the reported columns and then tried to drill down on columns say characteristics profit center, the system used to display a message with options like below:
''SAP Bex: Not enough cells to display result
-TO extend the result areas to the right:
0 Overwirte the existing cells
0 insert cells next to the results area
0 insert entire columns''
After upgrading the query to 7.0, the Analyzer does not pop-up this information and it simply overwrites the existing cells.
Can you please advise, if there are some settings in BI 7.0 which can enable pop-up of this information window with above options?

Try setting the cells which are not to be overwritten as formulas and refreshing them which may not overwrite those cells.

How SAP handles Child Idoc segment data insertion automatically

Hello,
We have some Infotypes with extra segments and IDocs are getting created with Parent and child segments.
To fill the data into the parent/child segments, we are currently using User-Exits.
Is there any settings/config in table level(e.g. T777D etc), or any other way, so that SAP handles the data filling into parent/child segments automatically.

No I dont want to change the value in WE19.... In runtime I am changing the value of schedule Line quantity and the same is getting update in SDSA also but when a new idoc is getting created that value is not getting reflected in that Idoc segment field.

How to Conditionally enable a date segment in flex based on Prior segment

i need to enable 'Retest Date' - Date segment, only if a prior segment 'Result' has a value 'Fail'.In case 'Result' is passed, the 'Retest Date' should not be enabled.
Retest Date should allow all possible dates . These values dont come from any table.
I can use :$FLEX$.Result or :$FLEX.Result_valueset in my where clause of table validated valueset if the datatype is varchar2 . For date type, I have always used validation type as 'None' .Where do i mention the :$FLEX$.Result and what should be the validation type?
Any ideas about how to achieve the beahviour mentioned above?

Sap script for Delivery(item wise)

Dear ABAPer's ,
I am working on a SAP Script for Delivery(<b>Item wise</b>).The requirement is I need a print out for each line item in a delivery.I am using tcode VL71 for taking prinout.
I have modified the routine <b>RVADDN01</b> according to my requirements.But the problem is i am not able to capture
which line item is selected.Whichever lineitem i select it is giving the details of all the line items.
Am I using the correct routine or someother routine is available for item wise details.
Please clarify.

Inbound side idoc segment defination is showing instead of segment type

Dear all,
i created z idoc ZMIGO961 and z segment ZJ1IW in both source and destination, when i send the idoc from the source to destination, in destination it is showing the segment defination i.e ZJ1IW000 in idoc instead of segment type ZJ1IW in my idoc.

segment defination : ZJ1IW000 indicates segment is ZJ1IW & version is 000
Go to T code we31 in Destination System
Enter the Segment Name and Check Defination Screen.....then you will see the segment defination : ZJ1IW000
