  • How can I Migrate a Segmented Chart of Account with DTW?

    Hello.
If anyone could help me to solve this problem I would be most gratefull...
The templates installed in SAP Business One under the DTW folder do not include a segmented chart of account template, so I would like to know how can I transform (if that is possible) the standard model, or maybe find a way out, cause' the chart of account is pretty big and I have it all in a well defined CSV.
    Thank you.

  • Title account in segmented chart of accounts

    Hi,
I created a new database with Singapore Localization and User-Defined Chart of Accounts. I have also defined the segments. Now I used the Account Code Generator and it works for ACTIVE ACCOUNTS. But can any one help me how to create TITLE ACCOUNTS?
    Regards
    Sudatt

    Thanks for your reply Gordon,
How can I manually create Title Accounts? The Account Code Generator gives me an option to generate Title Accounts only. I find no option to create Title Accounts manually.

  • Field limitations - import chart of accounts

    Hello All!
I have a client that has decided they would like to import their general ledger chart of accounts.  They have decided on a segmented chart of accounts, with the first segment being 8 characters.  In that segment they want to use a '.' in the number.
    Example:
    6114.000-01-00
Is it possible to import the decimal in the first segment of the account?
    Thanks
    Kathy

    Hello Kathy,
The field is a nVarChar field.  That means any character should be fine.  However, I strongly discourage this practice since it is better to make the segment as short as possible with numeric values whenever you can.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • 'Currency' as a segment in Chart of Accounts

    Hi all,
Please pardon me for posting such a long mail :) If you could help me address these concerns, we would really appreciate it.
This is regarding Financial Accounting Hub implementation for an Investment Company. There is a requirement (details mentioned below) at my client site wherein they wish to evaluate 'Currency' as a segment in their Chart of Accounts structure.
    Requirement:-
There are two source systems wherein all transactions are already accounted for; henceforth, we have suggested a 'pass-through' approach to the client. The scenario is that, these source systems have transactions (in different Quotation currencies for each Investment they make) which needs to be captured in Corporate General Ledger financial reports (in Balance Sheet, the client wishes to have columns for Currencies to which the Investment has been exposed, along with functional currency, USD balances).
Am seeking your help/insights on the following points:-
    - What could be repercussions of having 'Currency' as a segment in Chart of Accounts.
    - Can we capture static*** (additional) information from these source systems in 'Supporting References' and could we generate reports for the same (I mean, there is standard functionality in FAH to attach supporting reference to the journal lines; having said that, could we capture the balances of 'Supp. Refs.' in any report).
    - What are the pros and cons of having Multiple General Ledgers and finally consolidating them into one ledger. What is the best practice followed in the industry?
    - Pros and cons of having single Chart of Accounts and Multiple Chart of Accounts.
    - Which reporting tool could be used for developing Financial Reports (like B/S, P&L, Cash Flows) and monthly reports (like reports as per static/additional data)?
I would appreciate if any document/insights pertaining to the same could be shared. Also, if any requirement definition document (RD50) , for a Financial/Investment Company (*which invests its Govt.'s surpluses into asset classes across the world).
***Statics Data in our case, for instance, there is an accounting entry Marketable Securities Dr 1000, To Bank Cr 1000. Other than that, there is static information, like Portfolio Region, Portfolio Currency, Portfolio Dept., etc. linked to this accounting entry.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Transport of Chart of Accounts- Company Code segment

    Hi everyone,
i´m trying to transport a chart of account from one system to another.
i´ve used the tx OBY9, but while it works fine for the Chart of Account segment it doesn´t transport the Company Code segment.
Does anyone knows if is it posible to do this? What transaction should i use?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
    try this procedure:
    1. Transport the chart of accounts - OBY9 (only chart of accounts segment)
    2. Create the file containing the Company Code segment - tx FS15 on the source system (leave <i>Target Company Code</i> empty, erase ticks <i>Update file immediately</i> and <i>Check file only</i>; enter <i>File name</i>) -> you can see the file using tx AL11- Directory Global
    3. Transport the file from the source system to the target system (I have asked my base colleague to do it)
    4. Receive the file in the target system - tx FS16 (tick <i>Update File Immediately</i>)

  • Hierarchical ID Recursion for Chart of Accounts

This must be a pretty standard report format but so far it looks as though I’m not smart enough to figure out how to get ‘er done. I’m using 2008 R2 to work with a hierarchy of about 30k GL accounts. The hierarchy is narrow at the top—only 5 subtrees (Assets,
Liabilities, etc.)—and it is only four levels deep but the bottom levels are several thousand accounts wide.
In addition to the original Account_Number and Parent_Number columns, a straight-forward T-SQL recursive CTE has produced 3 new columns which I suppose should be useful. I’ve tried to work through the SSRS help examples on How To Create a Recursive Hierarchy
Group but it’s not getting me where I want to go.
    Level     Hierarchy
    Node
    Account_Type
    1
    /1/
    0x58

    /2/
    0x68

    0x5B40

    2
    /2/1/
    0x6AC0
    Liabilities -> Acct Payable
I would like to a report which opens showing only the top 5 accounts but which will allow User to drill down through each of the remaining 3 levels. Using an expression to indicate level by simple indentation is not an option.
Please point me to an example or some more instructions.
    HomeCookN

    Hi There
As far as I understand you  have charts of account which have three levels and by default you would like to open first level and from there user will drill down to next level.
You could do it easily by creating three row groups and visibility of the second and third level will be hidden initially and use display can be toggle by report item as shown in the figure.
However if you don’t like to go on this track and give your user the option to select which level he would like to see after the first level then please create a parameter and give user the ability to go straight to that level.
I am putting some screenshot for your help.
If you still have a questions please let me know.
    Many thanks

  • How to use my own chart of accounts

    Good afternoon,
I installed EBS 11i on WinXP a month ago for learning purpose
and never learned it before, so I am very new.
I got problem using my chart of account to create new journal.
    That I did :
    1. using VIS data, login as user operations
setup flexfields key : segment (Company, Division, Account), values, chart of accounts
    setup calendars,periods,books
    example : Set of Books = BOOK1
    Chart of Accounts = COA1
    2. using VIS data, login as user SYSDAMIN
setup new user = USER1 assign rolle : general ledger super user
Then Login as USER1, tied to create new journal,
than the windows show up automatically the account,
It was chart of account with seqment company, department, account, sub-account, product.
Actually that I wanted was to create journal using my chart of accounts with segment company, division and account.
I thing it's about the responsible "general ledger super user" that I assign to USER1,
my question how to make autorized so USER1 can used BOOK1 or my Chart of Account COA1,
Is it something to do with responsible ?
if Yes, what is the step / procedure to define responsible ? should we define data group or ...???
    Thank you very much guru

  • Urgent : Doubt in Chart of accounts & Report generating

    Hi Gurus,
Hope all are doing well !!
I have a doubt in generating Balance sheet & Financial statement report for country specific COA.
    The Scenario is like this:
We have 3 Company codes and all company codes are assigned with single operating chart of acconts.
In one company code there is an addtional requirement of maintaining country specific COA.
All three company codes are maintaining same Group (consolidated) chart of accounts.
    Now my question is :
How to generate FS report for Country specific COA for the Company code along with the operating COA? And also would be helpful if you can explain me how it can also be for Group chart of account.
As per my understanding once you assign an operating COA to a co code and account determination is done, the table SKB1 (GL master co code segment)will get linked to the respective co code and you may not be able to creat data in co code segment of GL master record for another COA (Viz.Country specific COA). There is no such customisation has given to adopt this. Probably there should be some report or program need to be executed to copy the relevant table and country templates.
It would be helpful if you can provide some documentation on this please forward it to me.
Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.
    Best regards,
    Sudheer

In IMG, under 'Global parameters for company code', you need to mention the country chart of Accounts in one of the fields.
In the GL master, you need to fill in the Alternate Account number field with the Account from the country COA.
As for reporting,COA is one of the selection criteria for any standard report anyway.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • Best Practice for legally required Chart of Account

    Dear all,
our client has a global defined chart of account. Now they are going to implement the SAP template in France, Belgium and Russia. These countries have legally required chart of accounts. What is best practice to fullfill these requirements in SAP.
    1) Do I use the alternative account number?
    2) Isn't this field on the central level of the account master data record? How do I manage to realize the different number for Russia and for France at the same time?
Thank you very much for your help.
    Best regards Timo

    Hi,
the best way proofed by real life is to define new chart of accounts for the country specific accounts. Then to assign this chart of accounts as country chart of accounts in company code parameters.
Then you can use field alternative account number in company code segment of G/L accounts.
Just keep in mind that the assigment should be 1:1, i.e. one operative (global) account is assigned to one local account and one local account should be assigned to one operative account.
You can't change the alternative account number if there is balance on that account. You can just repost the balance to another account, then change alternative acccount number and then post the balance back. For some accounts its difficult to do such excercise so I use short ABAP which changes directly the field in table SKB1.
You can also define financial statement strucutre based on local chart of accounts - which is usually easier for maintennace, because you can use intervals. Just do not forget check "Alternantive accounts" in RFBILA00.

    Michal

  • Oracle Financials for India - Local Chart of Account

    Hi,
We have to implement Oracle Financials for India, I know that the calendar is from APR-MAR, but my question is: Is it needed to report the statutory books in a local Chart of Accounts or we can use our corporate ones based in US GAAP.
    Thanks and regards,

Refer this query, you can get
    select FIS.SEGMENT_NAME, FFV.FLEX_VALUE, FIF.ID_FLEX_STRUCTURE_CODE , FSA.*
    from FND_SEGMENT_ATTRIBUTE_VALUES FSA, FND_ID_FLEX_SEGMENTS_VL FIS, FND_FLEX_VALUES_VL FFV, FND_ID_FLEX_STRUCTURES FIF
    where FSA.attribute_value='Y'
    and FSA.ID_FLEX_CODE = 'GL#'
    and FSA.SEGMENT_ATTRIBUTE_TYPE = 'GL_ACCOUNT' --Natural Account Segment
    and FIF.ID_FLEX_STRUCTURE_CODE='ACCOUNTING_FLEXFIELD'
    and FSA.APPLICATION_COLUMN_NAME = FIS.APPLICATION_COLUMN_NAME
    and FIS.FLEX_VALUE_SET_ID = FFV.FLEX_VALUE_SET_ID
    and FIS.ID_FLEX_NUM=FIF.ID_FLEX_NUM
    and FIS.ID_FLEX_CODE=FIF.ID_FLEX_CODE
    AND FSA.ID_FLEX_CODE= FIF.ID_FLEX_CODE
    and FSA.ID_FLEX_NUM=FIF.ID_FLEX_NUM

  • How to load Chart of Account in GL

    Hi guys,i hope u all r right.
i wana upload chart of account in gl.can anyone guide me ?can you provide me any sample script?
    Regards,
    SK

If you have setup the Chart of Account manually in a other instance, you can download and upload in a other via FNDLOAD.
Examples are in My Oracle Support, search after FNDLOAD, then you can transfer the defined Accounting Flex Field.
Same way is possible for the Values of the Chart of Account.
Other option is to used Dataload (search Dataload and download tool from the Internet).
A template for segment values exists, over this, you can upload the values via Excel -> Dataload into Oracle.

  • Report for cost centers with alternative chart of account

    Hi.
I try to make a report in cost center accounting and in profit center accounting with alternative chart of accounts. We have primary chart of account for 20 companies and alternative chart of account for 1 company. How can I make a report in CO-OM and PC accounting with alternative accouns? Is there any metod? Are on the intrenet somewhere instructions?
    Thanks

    Marko,
CCA reports are possible only by cost elements (which an have different description from a GL account).
PCA reports are possible only for main account (alternative account not available in GLPCT table).
