Select area of image for enhancement?

In PhotoDeluxe, it was easy to select an area of any shape (rectangle, polygon, trace etc.) on the image and apply enhancement (e.g. brightness) to just that area. I can't figure out how to do this in Elements 9 - can anyone show me how? I do it all the time to deal with sharp-edged sun shadows in particular.

Make the selection with one of the selection tools, e.g.lasso, selection brush tool, magic wand, etc. You should see "marching ants" around the selection, indicating that it is active.
Go to Layer>new>layer via copy, placing the selection on its own layer. This maneuver is handy in order to adjust the blending mode and opacity of the layer if indicated. With the selection still active, you can refine it via Select>refine edge
Shut off the visibility of the original layer and apply the change in brightness to the selection.
I prefer to open an adjustment layer (e.g. brightness/contrast) above the layer with the selection and link the 2 layers so that I can go back to make further adjustments if needed

Adobe Premiere Elements 7 - Selecting Multiple Still Images for Time Stretch

Hi,
I have Adobe Premiere Elemetns 7. I would like to be able to select multiple still images on the timeline so that I can timestretch them all at the same time.
I understand that you can do this when you drag the photos over to the sceneline, then get the dialog box that asks for the time duration or transition duration. I would like to do this after they have been placed on the timeline though.
I would like to put say an hour of music on the music line, then drag over say 400 photos, then timestretch the photos such that thier time matches the music timeline. Smartsound does not seem to find the music on my computer to do this, I would like to use my own music.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Tonight why don't you download the free 30 tryout of Premiere Elements 8, check out the feature of interest in particular, and determine if it is worth it. Check out it's stability in your computer environment. You do not have to uninstall Premiere Elements 7. When you install Premiere Elements 8, the installation process detects prior versions and tells you that you do not have to uninstall them, just use one at a time.
Depending on how things go, get on the phone to Adobe Customer Service Monday morning and be pleasant but determined, express your need for the new feature(s), and request an exchange, the new for the old. As a last resort, request your money back for version 7.
Please update us on your progress. But, in the back of your mind, keep the old thought of "be careful what you wish for". You may win one with the duration feature but lose some ground with stability and other features.

Delta records are not populating for enhanced fields in 2LIS_17_I3HDR

       I have an issue with 2LIS_17_I3HDR datasource, i have enhanced the DS with Zfields, these are populated from AUFK through user exit. When i fill setup table, i can see the values being populated for enhanced fields, but for delta records, i dont find any values for these enhanced fields, even though the values exists in the AUFK table and i even tried degugging the user exit code, it doesnt go through it during the posting of delta records.
Can some one give some suggestion on this issue.

                 Yes, delta records cannot be populated by enhanced fields. Here the issue is different,
i have added a closed date to the extract structure, this is order specific, so when i create a new PM order after the full load, and release the order and close it, the AUFK table get an entry for closed date, my exit compare the object number of the extractor to object number in AUFK and get the closed date value to the DS, this is not same as enabling delta on the enhanced fields (which cant be done).

My client requirement is Data has to be loaded on company wise .. means the respective responsible person only carryon loading person as per his profile(Authorisation)load has to be happen...this is one requirement,
one more is (whether in this scenario can we go for Delta)
we enhanced the Datasource with new field in R/3 and when we are trying to make it selction condition in infopackage we are not getting filtering as per that ..
could u or anyone who knows through a light on this..

regarding your question about selection field I gave you an answer in one of yours previous post !
Just some considerations about your authorizations requirements.
If I right understood, you want to build a scenario in which there are different persons that, manually, have to access on the system to perform a data loading restricted to a particular company code (so, person A could load only data from company A, person B from company B and so on...)
I think you can obtain this (also with a dedicated infopackages per person), but if you want to manage a delta (your second question) just remember that you can perform different init (with different selections), but the delta channel will be only one and only one will be your delta request management..so, your previous profiling will no longer make sense...

Cannot select certain background images for lock s...

When I try to change my lock screen image with one of the preloaded background photos, some of them work fine. But some of them do not bring up the image crop selector tool, and simply drop back to the lock screen settings screen, keeping me from being able to use them. This makes me think that there's something about some of those images that the photo selector cannot handle and perhaps silently crashes the photo selector. For example, even there's about a dozen problematic photos, one image I cannot pick is the one with the sea turtle in it.

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Lumia 520. Did something happen to your phone prior to the issue? When did this problem start happening? Would you mind telling us the error message that you are getting?
Please make sure that High contrast is turned off. To do that, go to Settings > Ease of access > High contrast > off. You may also go back to Settings > Lock screen. Under Background, it must be photo > select Change photo and choose a picture. If this will not resolve your concern, you may consider doing a reboot by pressing and holding both the volume down and power keys until it vibrates, then try again.
Let us know the outcome.

Antique Contrast on selected areas of image

I have done this once before and can not for the life of me remember how I done it.
I have an image with the main subject (a car) and the background which I wish to have set to a Antique Contrast type effect. I think this is what it was called as I placed this text 'AntiqueContrast' in the file name to remind me, but now I can not find anything in the help to show me what I may have done to get this effect.
I either selected the area I wanted to alter or the the area I wanted left alone.
Can anyone help me out here ?

Use existing image for user 10.8.4

On a new MacBook Air with OS 10.8.4 I cannot find the option to select an existing image for a user. All I get when I click on the image are Defaults, Recent and Camera. Help says there should be an "Edit Picture" option to let me choose a picture but I don't see it. Don't recall this looking or behaving the same on earlier versions of OS X.

Nonetheless, can you drag the existing image over the blank box and achieve what you're trying to do?

DW designed site, some browsers are dropping images and doing other wonky things, suggestions?

Hello, we have a small website and on the contact page there are hyperlinked images for facebook and linkedin. On some browsers or computers the images and links are being dropped entirely, including my own when I run Firefox but shows up fine in IE. On one computer instead of left aligning it was center aligned. Here is the page in question:

Possibly.
Servers are case sensitive, so a link to images/LinkedIN.png will not be directed to a file called linkedin.png on the server. Your local OS won't have an issue with it, but the server generally will view that as a separate file from the mixed case version.
You may want to go through and normalize your file names from within DW's Files window and keep them all as lower case alpha-numeric names. Don't use special characters or spaces in the names either. Instead of spaces, use underscores or hyphens. When you change the names from within the Files window, DW will update all of your links for you.
Since you're seeing issues in some but not all browsers, I'm guessing the above probably isn't the problem (still worth mentioning though). It almost sounds to me like you are caching older versions in some of those browsers. Try clearing the browser cache to see if that clears up the issue.
Also, run your pages through the validator at http://validator.w3.org to get a list of html errors in your page. HTML errors can cause all kinds of funky behavior between browsers/versions. If it's still happening once you have your code cleaned up, post back and we can take a closer look.

Sounds like you're looking for the Clone Stamp Tool. Set to Aligned, the sampling point resets when you release the mouse after painting. Untic Aligned and the sampling point stays in the original spot for the next stroke. It's a good idea to clone onto a separate layer with Sample All Layers selected. Then you don't lose original pixels. Allows you a do over later.

Hi,
just navigate to the contact you want to assign a picture.
Slide in the menu bar from the bottom of the screen and press "edit".
The contact details appear and in the top-left corner are the initials of the contact and a small "+" sign.
Press here (the whole corner is ok, no need to aim for the +) and you can chose a picture from the gallery.

Ghost image for multiple selection in JTree while drag and drop.

I am unable to create a Ghost image for drag and drop with in the JTree for multiple selection, i got some examples but all are for single selection ,
Idea of creating buffered image is good , but unable to create it for multiple selection , tried a lot but got weird results.... can any body give me any clue about this , if got any example that will be fantastic.

i heve created a an application in which user can select an area and on an image and then zoom that particular portion but when i zoom it the image keeps on going to the right bottom corner of the screen.I want my zoom to keep the selected area in the center of the screen.can anybody help me in thet.

can u solve ome more problem for me as u seem to be very comfortable in 2d.my problem is that once i'm able to zoom my image ,if i want to zoom it further either on mouse click or selecting a rectangle again on mousedrag,it throws an exception coz i'm not able to get either size or bofferedimage from the once zoomed image.

How to use the same (selection) paths in multiple images for batch processing?

I have a whole bunch of photos I need to batch process, but, when creating an action for this, I stumbled upon the problem that the paths I selected with the pen tool, and saved under the "Paths" tab need to be in every image for to be used in the action. I did try to solve it for some time, but couldn't figure out. Any ideas?

Batch processing usually involves using actions you have recorded. In Action you can insert Path that can be used during processing documents. Path have some size so you may want to only process document that have the same size. Look in the Actions Palette fly-out menu for insert path. It inserts|records the current document work path into the action being worked on and when the action is played it inserts the path into the document as the current work path..
