  • How do you select multiple emails from the contacts book.

Using 10.8.4. I would like to use mail and select multiple email address' from the contacts book to send the same message to multiple persons. I thought I used to be able to select more than one at a time from my contacts book. Am I crazy or did they change the way it works from the previous version of software.
Or, could you go to the contacts book and email from there. Either way it seems like it was easy to do and now I have to select one at a time and keep going back to the contacts/address book for another name.

    Hi shelereric,
Once you open a new message, you should be able to just start typing the first letters of the contact's name, and Mail should give you a dropdown to select from:
So, you should not have to go back and forth between your contacts and mail....anyone in your address book should show up on the dropdown as well as anyone you have received emails from or sent emails to even if they are not in your contacts....
Is that not what is happening for you? Are you using the Mail app on the Mac?
    Cheers,
    GB

  • TS3899 Just updated to 7.0.6. Cannot Select multiple emails to move/delete.

Just updated to 7.06. Cannot Select multiple emails to move/delete. I select Edit in any mailbox, trash or sent, then select one email to delete/move, after a few seconds, the email automatically 'unselects' the move and delete buttons deactivate, but the top status bar still has '1 selected'.
If i try to select multiple emails I get to the 3rd or 4th one and then they all auto unselect.
My Ipad without the update works fine. My daughters iphone 5 has the same issue and she just updated.

I have no problem selecting multiple emails on iOS 7.0.6
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Won't let me select multiple emails while on wifi - ends up deselecting them before I can do anything

I'm running the latest update, have restarted and even reset the settings for the whole systems. It's happening on my iPad and iPhone.. When I disconnect from wifi it acts normally, but if I connect to wifi that's when it won't let me select multiple emails. I will click on multiple but it ends up deselecting them

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore.  When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them.  What program did you use to import them?  Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

I am coordinating a large group of people and created a group list of over one hunderd people.  The group is families and each person in the address book has several e-mail addresses. How do I select all the email address under each person in the address book so every family member recieves the e-mails?
It appears I can select any ONE email address but selecting multiples from any one person is not allowed, why is that? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

Not sure about this problem. But if you don't get an answer soon, go here which is the Mail forum for Leopard (which you listed in your sig).

  • Downloaded Mountain Lion and now not able to select multiple email messages at a time for deletion what gives?

Downloaded ML last night now one little glitch seems to be that I cannot select multiple messages at a time to delete. With the massive amount of email I receive, this is a problem. Cannot seem to find any simple fixes in preferences. Any ideas?

you could use one hand to do this, before ML. select one email and drag up/down with the cursor to select more. selecting/shift key is the normal multiple selection operation. that's two handed.
if there is empty space at the bottom, it works.
i did submit this through the feedback process. i hope the functionality returns.

  • When sending a PDF form by email, is there a way to make a button into a drop-down to select multiple email addresses?

Basically, I'm wanting to have multiple recipients set up within a button, so I can pick and choose who and when I send the form to. I can only seem to get it to either send to only one email address, or to send to multiple email addresses all at one time, without the option to select a recipient upon pressing the button.
If anyone could help, I'd be really grateful.
    Many thanks in advance.
    James

First of all, a drop-down menu doesn't allow for multiple item selection. You'll need a list-box field for that.
Once you have that set up you can use the value(s) selected in this field as the recipients of the email.

  • I need to be able to select multiple emails and foward them in one email

I have to foward emails; however, only current way is one at a time.  I need to be able to select <n> emails, and then forward them to one or more people- but they want only one email with the other emails appearing in email as attached documents that they open by selecting one of the emails sent to them- need arisen as need to be reimbursed for business trip and they do not want multiple emails- only one email.  I only havevan iPad and could do this crummy Outlook but can figure out how to do on iPad...

Well, just remember, this is only the second generation iPad and tablets are not really a true replacement for a fully functioning computer.  As they evolve over time, more and more functionality will be built in.........

While in your Messages app, swipe down from the top > tap SELECT and then check the boxes next to the emails you want to select for marking.

  • Why does the Mail app (among other apps) go bananas when you try to select multiple emails to delete for instance?

I have an iPhone 4S and it's as if the function to select mulitple emails is still there in iOS 7, but it's not possible to execute it. When I try to select several emails it often automatically deselects some or all of the emails almost instantaneously. After a while, you are able to select all email that you want to delete fast enough and then press delete. Very strange. This worked so much better in the previous iOS, what has happened and how do I solve it? It's like the touch screen is totally inaccurate.
    Best regards,
    Staffan

Wasn't there a "select all" button in iOS at one time ? Where did it go ?!?

  • Selecting Multiple email addresses in Address Book

I have several companies in my address book within which are multiple email addresses. When i add a companies vcard to an email only one of the email addresses is selcted. Is there a way for me to highlight all email addresses within one vcard so that i can send a group mail to every member of each company at the same time?
    Thanks

Unfortunately only one e-mail address is used from a single contact.
You could create individual contacts for each e-mail address for that company and then create a group for that company. Then you would send e-mail to the group.

  • Anyway to select multiple emails in 10.8 to delete? can't do that anymore!

can't seem to delete more than one email message at a time in 10.8. Used to be able to click and drag which would highlight multiple messages then could deklete all selected. Any work around?

That does work - but only one at a time. Used to be able to literally scroll down very quickly highlighting messages rapidly. That appears to be gone in 10.8. I get many messages and am guilty of not deleting until I have over 1000 messages. It was very easy to group them and mass delete - now it is not.

  • Select Multiple Email addresses for 1 contact

How do I select when I send an email to a contact in my address book to send the email to more than one of their email addresses?

you have to enter those addresses separately in the "To" line of the outgoing message. that's the only way.

  • Selecting multiple address for 1 email

Selecting multiple email addresses for a single email has become much more tedious. Is there any way to go through the contact list and quickly select the multiple addresses and then have them applied to the email like it was in Mavericks, and Mountain Lion?

Try going to System Preferences/Notifications and drag Mail to the Not in Notifications Center. Log out/in and then re-add it to Notifications .

  • How to delete multiple emails in Outlook Windows XP

I have selected multiple emails in Outlook under Windows XP using the control key. I cannot figure out what combination of keys will act as a delete button. The "delete" key does not work and the combination of the delete key and the fn key does not work. What combination of keys acts as the delete button?

My keyboard is the one here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1171 and the info says that the PC Forward Delete burron is a Delet button with an arrow to the right with an X in it. There is no such button on my keyboard.
