Select multiple playlists for burning to DVD Data disc?

Hi, i need to burn about 5 playlists to a DVD Data Disc for temp backup, iTunes only is allowing me to select one playlist at a time. Of corse one play list is about 300 meg and this is totally wasteful of a DVD.
Anyone know how to burn multiple playlists to a single disc? maybe some other app can read iTunes's playlists and provide burning?
I want each playlist to create a self titled folder on disc with the tunes in each.
Thanks

Hi man, good idea.
Unfortunately, in iTunes, the "Burn Data Disc" button disappears when the folder is selected, in addition to the burn menu item. The burn button reappears when a single playlist inside the folder is selected, unfortunately again, more than one playlist cannot be selected.
It does appear iTunes can burn only 1 single playlist to a disc or the entire library and nothing in between which is very problematic for me right now.
Sadly the "Back Up to Disc" option in the File menu provides the following options :
"Back Up entire iTunes library and playlist"
"Back Up only iTunes Store purchases"
This appears also to be useless.
Toast 8 won't import exported iTunes XML playlists either and just burn the tracks in each playlist to a folder on the disk.
Suppose we need "iTunes Pro" to do something simple as I require :-((

  • Burning & playing music burned on dvd data disc

after i burn a regular cdr in audio mode and i play the newly burned disc, i can change the format of the screen/playback by editing/amending the screen and right clicking on "copy play order" and it saves the changed settings each time i insert that cdr.....but.....when i do the same thing and copy wave music files to a dvd in data mode, when i insert the dvd after it's burnt, itunes will let me change the screen format (ie; name, song, year, album, rating, beats per minute) but when i right click on the inserted dvd, it doesn't give me the option to "copy play order" so i can save it to the disc.......any way around this??

why not rip the CD's (to _*Apple Lossless*_, for example), then add the files to iTunes and play them through iTunes ?

  • Burning DVD data discs?

When I insert a blank CD-R in my Superdrive(tm), the blank disk appears on my desktop, making it easy to drag and drop files to it to be burned.
Blank DVD+R discs don't show up on my desktop, however. Is that by design? I'm guessing I could still burn a DVD data disc by using a burn folder, correct? Is there a better way?
I know the disks I'm using are compatible with the Superdrive because I've successfully burned DVD movies to those disks using iDVD.
    Thanks.

It is possible that when you insert a blank DVD, it is set to open up in a specific application (maybe iDVD). Open up system preferences, click on "CD & DVDs" and make sure that the category "When you insert a blank DVD", the drop down menu is on "Ask what to do" so that you have the option of opening it in the finder.

  • Selecting Multiple Playlists in iTunes 5

I'm moving a LOT of playlists (>1000) into folders. So far, I haven't found a way to select multiple playlists to move into a folder (using the usual "shift-click or cntl-click" techniques for selecting multiple items).
Any ideas? Or am I stuck...dragging a single playlist at a time (ugh!)
    Thanks, Steve

Aha! That makes perfect sense. I assumed they used the ITL file for operations...but hoped that the XML that gets generated would have all the information that would reside in the ITL file (thus, if you modified the XML, blew away the ITL & rebuilt from the XML, your information would be updated). Looks like at least for now, the folder information doesn't make it to the XML.
    Thanks, Steve

  • Selecting multiple playlists

Searching for an answer to my question it seems I'm not the only iTunes user trying to select multiple playlists or multiple folders at once.
I used Doug's iTunes script to create a playlist for each album. Great script by the way!
Now I have several hundred playlists, which I'd like to organise in some categories. I would like to select several playlists to drag and organise them in certain folders.
No such luck. I need to drag one by one.
Does anyone have a solution to select multiple playlists?

  • How do I select multiple contacts for an e-mail?

Using an iMac and wondering how to send an e-mail to multiple people in my contact list without having to open the contact list every time I select a name.  It would be nice if I could just open the contact list and select multiple people for the same e-mail.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi there Kathy, The easiest way is Window (along the menu bar) > Address Pannel, then you can select multipul contacts and then click the "To:" Button in the top left of the window.
(Tip: You can use comand and click to select multipul at once, then click the "To:" button in the top left)

  • Creating folders in playlists for burning to CD

    Hi
Is it possible to create folders within a playlist for burning cd's with about 8 albums on in mp3 format so that it is easier to direct access a particular album on the disc rather than start at track 1 & keep skiping until you reach say the 5th album which will be about track 60 & so on & so on, I have no problems burning the files to disc but like ive explained it just shows as about 160 tracks but no individual folders for each album
    many thanks

  • Unable to select multiple images for upload

I have Windows 7 Pro and FF 9.0
I have an online store and am always uploading product photos for items I have listed. I recently switched from XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro. I had no issues with XP. However, now that I have Windows 7 Pro I am unable to select multiple images for upload when using FF. I can only select one image at a time.
The issue is unique to FF. I have tried in several other browsers, and FF is the only one that I am unable to select multiple images from.
I had FF 8.0.1 and upgraded to 9.0... hoping that would resolve the issue. It did not. I have restarted my computer several times which has also had no effect.

I see it is about 6 hours since you posted, so I guess you will get this when you wake. (I'll be sleeping then)
This would be better asked in the forum for Using Leopard inside the Leopard Category sating which browser and which site it was.
(it probably made lots of sense to you when you were typing it but it seems a little short in facts or workable info.)

  • Dispatch center - Select multiple tasks for scheduling at the same time

    Hi!
I need a consultation regarding Dispatch center. Is there a functionality to select multiple tasks for scheduling at the same time for one resource?
    Please, guys, this is urgent.
    Jan

You can schedule a single task or multiple tasks automatically directly from the
dispatch center. The scheduling criteria applied come from Advanced Scheduler.
Make Sure, you have the advanced scheduler. With out Advanced Scheduler and by just using Advice, you can only assign one task at a time.

Export the dvd as an image from Encore, then use Imgburn to make the discs. I usually export a dvd folder from Encore and then use Imgburn to create the iso and do the burning

  • DVD data disc song order

Is it possible to burn a DVD MP3 disc in itunes. Every time I select MP3 disc and insert a DVD it switches to data disc. I then end up with a disc of seemingly randomly organised tracks which is pretty useless when trying to play in my dvd player as I cant browse by album.

If the footage was shot in NTSC and they want PAL, you'll need to convert. JES Deinterlacer is an excellent (and free) tool for that. Just export from iMovie, then convert to DV PAL.
If you have Toast, make sure you select "DATA DISC" and "MAC & PC", then just drag the video files into the window. Remember that DV PAL is roughly 13 GB/h, so you can fit about 15 min max onto an SL DVD.

  • IMac 20 will not read DVD data disc

Today I tried to copy a DVD data disc and the iMac opened the finder Cue window to ask if I want to open the untitled CD. It was a DVD with 3+ GB of data. Funny, but the same disc opens on the PowerBook G4 17" just fine... has anyone else have this problem and have found a fix?
    Thanks
    Greg

If the drive can read a movie DVD then the problem must be that the OS DVD is either dirty or badly scratched. Look at the shiny side. If it has finger prints clean it with a lint free cloth. If it has scratches you can call Apple for a replacement disc for a nominal charge.

  • Can I select the view for a CD/DVD I'm burning?

Silly question perhaps ... but when I burn a data disk I like to choose how it'll display when it's used. If I've got lots of files I tend to prefer list view, if the disk is for repro perhaps, with only a couple of folders, I prefer icon view with said icons neatly arranged.
In OS 9 if I set up the window for the disk, pre burn, to how I wanted it then it would be that way after burn.
However in X no matter how I set the CD window pre burn it always starts as icon view when used after burning.
I know there's a way to sort this, I'm probably being dense for not spotting it, so forgive me ... but a clue would be nice!
    Thanks all.

To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album or CD, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Right click anywhere in the selection and choose Get Info, you'll get a message asking if you want to edit multiple items, choose yes. In the Info box that opens change the album name and choose Ok.
To select multiple songs that are not adjacent to one another hold down the Command (⌘) key and click on each of the songs you want to highlight. If you want to change track information on these right click on any of the tracks highlighted in the selection and choose Get Info.

  • Selecting multiple songs for Playlist or deletion...

this one's probably pretty easy, but how do you select multiple songs in the Music Library to be able to use in a new Playlist or to delete...I can't seem to find the right keystrokes for this....

Command-click to select multiple items or click the first one and Shift-click the last one if the items are consecutive.
Then press Delete to delete them or choose 'New Playlist from Selection' in the File menu (Shift-Command-N) to create a playlist of the selection.
You can find most shortcuts in the 'Keyboard Shortcuts' of the' Help' menu.
    Hope this helps.
