Selectable Mail Sync

Hi all!
I'm using Tiger's Mail as my main mail software. There is an Exchange among my mailboxes, that grabs mail from my work's Exchange server through VPN.
Besides inbox, outbox(and other common boxes) there're Public Folder's stored on the server. Everytime I'm checking mail, it tries to get all those millions of posts and files in Public Folders.
The question is - is it possible to prevent Mail from syncing certain folders with Exchange server ? Or maybe any other solution ?
I don't need those Public Folders on my Mac!
Thank you!

Did you ever find a solution to this? We need something similar here...
Cheers
Dan

  • "Sync selected Mail Accounts" has disappeared...

So when I go to iTunes with my iPhone plugged in, and i go to the info tab, everything appears as it should except I can't select the "sync selected mail accounts"...now all three accounts run imap, so maybe that's why, but I thought that last night (before 1.1.2), I had the option of syncing all three. Anyone have an idea what happened?

This isn't normal but FYI - the email account sync process syncs email account setup information only from your computer to your iPhone and is in this one direction only. The sync process for this data is not bidirectional as it is for Address Book contacts and calendar events.
Unless you make a change to the account information on your Mac that is synced with or transferred to your iPhone that you want transferred, it isn't necessary to continue syncing this data after the selected email account setup information has been successfully transferred to your iPhone.

  • Syncing selected mail accounts

I used multiple email accounts on multiple servers. Some have imap available other do not. I've been trying to use the "sync select mail accounts" feature in iTunes but I'm not having any luck!
I have one account (pop account) that I'd love to be able to delete mail on either my iPhone or Macbook Pro & when I sync have the two talk to each other.
    Please advise...
    Thank you

The sync select mail accounts option is for transferring the account settings from your computer to your iPhone so you don't need to manually create the account with the iPhone's Mail client.
This is not for syncing mailboxes and messages for an account between your computer and your iPhone.
A POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only. If you want the mailboxes and messages for an account to be synced between the email client used on your computer and the iPhone's Mail client, you need an IMAP account.

  • Mail Syncing Error

I just added a new IMAP account to my Mail.app, I know have three mailboxes in my Mail.app. Now the third won't sync over to the iPhone. Is there a limit to how many mailboxes you can have syncing?
This is the error which comes up:
"iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "Wes' iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers."
    Thanks

FYI - email account mailboxes are not synced between your computer and your iPhone with the iTunes sync process. The sync process for email accounts transfers email account setup information only from your computer to your iPhone.
Under the info tab for your iPhone sync preferences, uncheck sync email accounts.
Select apply in the bottom right corner.
Quit itunes and disconnect your iphone.
Launch the iSync application in your applications folder.
    Go to iSync preferences.
    Select Reset Sync History.
Restart your Mac and connect your iPhone. Select sync email accounts and select all or the new email account for the account setup information you want transferred to your iPhone.
Select Apple and try syncing again.
After the email account setup information is transferred to your iPhone, you can deselect this option via your iPhone sync preferences. This is a one way transfer process from your computer to your iPhone for email account setup information only. It doesn't need to be selected unless you add a new account that you want transferred to your iPhone, or change email account setup information on your Mac that you want transferred to your iPhone.

  • Windows Mail Sync popup problem?

For some reason, I keep getting "WindowsMailSync has stopped working" (popup) everytime I select the a tab or sync using iTunes. This is since a costly and disappointing attempt to use Outlook 2007 to sync my calendar. I have uninstalled Outlook 2007, but this problem persists. Suggestions...?

This happed to me after installing Office 2007 (and Outlook). "WindowsMailSync Stopped working" would pop up, these were the steps that I took to resove the issue:
Go to the info tab for you iPhone in iTunes.
Look at the Mail Accounts section. Where it says "Sync Selected Mail Accounts."
Check the box if the drop down menu is grayed out and click on the drop down menu.
If you are running Outlook and it still says Windows Mail that could be creating a conflict.
Switch it to Outlook (or if you are running another default mail system that is supported by iTunes switch it to that instead). You may want to check all of your other selections as well.
I don't sync my mail via iTunes, so I unchecked it before syncing.

  • Mail syncing ???

I have deleted 5 Pop account from my iMac mail account. When I sync with iPhone it doesn't delete the email accounts on my in my iPhone, even when I select advanced syncing, that says it will delete all the mail acounts before it will transfer to iPhone.
    Is this a bug?

I found the problem, my gmail box was 86% full so I remove most of the mail down to 17% via webmail.

  • Itunes mail sync

on my laptop i use Windows Live Mail as my email account, and on my itunes there is only one option for email syncing and that is Outlook. I want to have my emails to be syncing to Windows Live Mail not to Outlook. How do i change it?
And for some reason my emails dissapear off my phone after a while without deleting them? Is there any reason why it is doing it?

Do you have any accounts set up already?
Scroll down to advanced and select to sync accounts the next time only. Obviously sync mail accounts.
Once they have been added, you can select which account you only wish to sync under Mail Accounts in iTunes.

  • Songs cannot be synced: playlists selected for syncing no longer exist

"Songs on the ipod cannot be synced because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist"
I finally filled all of the memory in my nano for the first time, and I got a popup to put all of my playlists in one file so it wouldn't take up as much space. When I saw it, I deleted it, I wasn't aware of what was going on. I tried to fix it by changing the settings to manually sync music but that didn't work. Then I restored my ipod and now it doesn't have any songs on it. So I tried to uninstall everything, itunes and ipod to restore the settings back to normal but that didn't work either. Everytime I connect my nano, all it says it can't sync because the playlists don't exist anymore. I don't know what to do anymore. Can someone help me?

But then it says it can't read or write to my nano.
is that the message discussed in the following document?

  • Playsists selected for syncing no longer exist? ipod won't update

My new ipod won't update because it says that playlists I've selected for syncing no longer exist. For this reason I can't get any of my music onto my ipod and I don't understand what I am supposed to do to fix this

Hi guys, I've been having the same problem. Specifically, when I try to transfer songs from iTunes to my iPod I get the following error message: "Songs in the iPod "My iPod" cannot be updated because all the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist". I did some searching around at this site, and found that one possible problem is that my library is larger than my iPod's capacity, so I have to eliminate some songs. I did this, but I still get the same error message.

  • I don't get "Manage my Account" when I select the Sync tab, but if I try to create a new account it says my userid is already in use. How can I get my password & sync key?

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.
    My Firefox version is 4.0.1.
When I try to setup Firefox Sync, I get a choice of "Create a new account" or "Connect".
The first tells me my email address is already in use, but selecting the Sync tab does not give me "Manage my Account."
How can I find out my password and sync key?

    Hi Russ!
Apparently you already configured your account but you don't have nor the key or the password. You can get the password in the [https://account.services.mozilla.com/forgot following link] but you would need the Sync Key to sync your device to the rest of your devices.
If you don't have the Sync Key the best thing you can do is to reset it, by deleting the previous account and creating a new one with the same user. You can perform this tasks from your [https://account.services.mozilla.com/ account dashboard].

    Hi NWL1,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • Unable to sync new iPhone 4s. I have iTunes version 10.6.1. Using Windows 7. My device appears on iTunes but I am not able to select the sync option and it does not automatically start the sync option when plugged in. Ive tried reseting the device.

I am unable to sync my new iPhone 4s OR my iPod Touch 4 to iTunes.(this is the first time I am plugging them into iTunes) I have version 10.6.1. Both devices are up to date with the latest software version. Once I plug the device in, it is recognized on iTunes. The synce process does not start automatically. I am unable to select the sync option. I've tried reseting the device and restarting iTunes and the same problem happens. I have plugged in my husbands iPhone 3gs and the sync process starts automatically. I have also added my computer as an authorized computer for the new devices. What now?

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Option to select/deselect "SYNC" function no longer exists on Windows 7

iTunes, version 9 (64 bit) no longer has an option to select/deselect "SYNC." I can choose to manually sync & if I REINSTALL iTunes, it RESETS to AUTOMATICALLY SYNC, but the option to choose AUTO-SYNC mode still does not appear.
In the past, this function was available. SYNC funtions fine, but this feature is no longer available.

This is resolved. Probably obvious for most but coming from windows 7 I didn't know. For anyone who finds this on a search if you will go to windows update and on the left select recovery, then under advanced setup click on restart now. When this menu
finally loads you will have the option to change this here. Somehow mine was set from a 30 second menu to 0. I didn't change it or if I did I don't remember it. Any, Cheers!
