Selected images disappearing from compiled CHM

I've got a project that I'm trying to get compiled into a CHM file from RoboHTML 8. Everything seems to have gone fine, except that four of the images I added to the project prior to compilation don't show up in the CHM. They seem to be fine when viewed from RoboHelp, they're where they're supposed to be, and the source code of the compiled CHM refrences them correctly. And yet... they don't actually show up! I have tried renaming them, and reimporting them into the project, but these tricks didn't work. I'm hoping someone out there has some suggestions!

I've had this happen a few times.
I deleted the image from the topic and then inserted it again from the
RoboHelp project files (from the "Images in Project Folders" section on
the left side - not from the open folder icon).
This solved the problem for me; hope it helps you as well.

Problem with images disappearing from project

I have inserted a number of images into my Robohelp 9 project topics using the Insert >> Image function. Typically the images were stored on my hard drive on my pc, but some I pulled from a shared network drive that were prepared by other people. They seemed to load into the project OK. I had them grouped in a about 5 different robohelp folders to keep them organized so after I would insert, complete my topic and save. I would move the images to their respective folder. This was fine for a while, I had no problems generating printed .pdf documentation, making changes to my topics, etc. But now the images keep disappearing from the Robohelp folder structure and the printed documentation. I can see the images when I open up and view the topics. I can also see them when I look out onto the drive on the computer. However, they do not show up in the Robohelp Project Manager and are not included in my printed output. I keep re-inserting them, but they continue to disappear.

Certainly it won't hurt anything to add the images to baggage files, but I'd be shocked to find that solves the problem.
If an image has been used in RoboHelp, it should be present in the project. End of story. The fact they seem to be disappearing seems to suggest that maybe something has gone awry with folder naming or image naming or the project in general.
So what version and flavor of RoboHelp are you using?
RoboHelp 10, RoboHelp 9, RoboHelp 8, etc.

Derive project file from compiled chm file

Hello. I have CHM file which I wish to edit. I can de-compile
using HTML Help Workshop, but I do not get the Project file, which
I need to import back into Robohelp.
Can anyone tell me how to do this derivation? I need to use
Robohelp for this action.

Grainge's site at the moment, the short answer to you question is:
decompile the .chm file with KeyTools, which is available from
here:
http://www.keyworks.net/keytools.htm
Its decompile function provides the option to re-create the
.hhp file — albeit an approximation of the original.

Images disappear from drop zones

I'm using the "Bands" template, and I'm adding a photo to 3 different drop zones: the first one (the animated one) works fine. But when I add a photo for background on either the menu or "extras" page, it goes in fine, turns black and white and has the shading around the top edge, but when I click on another page in the DVD and back to these two pages, the image is gone and it again says "Drag Photos or Movies Here". Any ideas? I'm using 7.0.4, don't have any compelling reason to upgrade to 7.1 unless this bug is fixed there...

Sorry to hear you are having issues with iDvd regarding background and drop zones not staying with the images or photos you picked. I just tried the very same thing you described above running iDvd 7.0.4 on a Dual G5 2.0 Ghz and I cannot duplicate this issue. Mine runs fine and exactly as expected. All choices remain in place. So I'm not exactly sure what's going on with your own particular configuration. But like you I don't recommend updating unless this issue is first addressed in the next update. My feeling is that it won't be. What you may want to do if you haven't already is dispose of the plist for iDvd. Go to your HOME folder > Library > Preferences >
com.apple.iDvd.plist
Drag and drop this file to the trash or to the desktop and relaunch iDvd.
Come on back if this fails to help. Please also let us know exactly how much available hard drive space is remaining on the boot volume (your main HDD). You may also want to repair permissions at this time from apple's disk utility.

Images disappearing from slideshow - also unable to export these photos

Hi I hope someone can help me....
I made a slideshow of holiday photos and it played successfully 5 or 6 times, but when I came back to it recently some of the photos just don't appear (black screen) - when I went through it the photos that weren't appearing are still in the preview strip at the top of the page, but when selected, a grey box with a dotted line around it and a question mark in the middle appears.
I didn't worry about this for a while, but now I am finding that I cannot export these photos either. It seems to be random - some photos I can burn to disc and some I can't. Is there anything I am missing, should I be looking for some info regarding these photos to see why they are behaving differently from others? This is now also happening to photos in my library that I haven't put in a slide show....

To be honest I'm not sure why sometimes there's an exclamation point, and somtimes a question mark, but it essentially means the same thing. iPhoto cannot find the file.
Assuming that you haven't been changing this in the iPhoto Library Folder then we have to assume that the database is corupt - which can happen from time to time. Sometimes the rebuild will fix it. Let's try an different method of rebuilding:
Download iPhoto Library Manager from
http://homepage.mac.com/bwebster/iphotolibrarymanager.html
and use it to rebuild the library. It has a more robust series of tools for the job.
In any event your pictures should be safe in the iPhoto Library Folder.
In this folder there are various files, which are the Library itself and some ancillary files. Then you have three folders
Originals are the photos as they were downloaded from your camera or scanner.
(ii) Modified contains edited pics, shots that you have cropped, rotated or changed in any way.
This allows the Photos -> Revert to Original command - very useful if you don't like the changes you've made.
(iii) Data holds the thumbnails the the app needs to show you the photos in the iPhoto Window.
So, if you back up the iPhoto Library Folder it will save your photos.

Images disappearing from Numbers

I'm trying to write up a list of editions for an artist, using a Numbers spreadsheet. My first column is for images. While I can easily insert them into the spread sheet, everytime I save the document (an an excel doc), close the document, and then reopen it again, the images totally disappear.
Anyone have an experience with this? I've re-done it 4 times now, with no result.

Numbers does not support images as the contents of a cell, only as an image fill for the background, or formatting, of a cell. Neither does Numbers really "save" as an Excell document; that is an export operation, which does not keep image fills.
If you want to use Numbers, you should save in that format and if you want to use the excell format, you should use Excell, because each time you translate back and forth, you will probably lose something.

hi there! i just started learning java. I am having problems making my image appear in JLayeredPanel. I have this array of panel in which the JLayeredPanel is placed. Also, I have a MouseListener for my actions...
The problem is when I click twice or thrice the image would disappear whenever a new one appears.

i just started learning javaThen it might be a good idea to learn java basics first by using the core classes through the console (command prompt), and only when you're confident with those, move to GUI/Swing stuff and the like. But that's just my opinion.

Selection screen disappeared from CRM_UI

Hi All,
When I click on reporting link in CRM_UI, it is taking me directly to result of the report. No selection screen appears for pre-filter.
I executed particular report on Bex analyzer as well as on Java portal, its working fine there. I'm getting selection screen for per-filter in Bex analyzer and Java portal. I dont know why selection screen is not coming on CRM_UI.
Does anyone have any comment on this? Why this is happening only on CRM_UI?

In general, please note that the Enterprise Portal URL is not supposed to be called in an <IFRAME> and it should be the top container in the browser, otherwise EPCM (Enterprise Portal Client Framework) will not work correctly.

Images disappearing from Camera Roll?

I have recently bought an Iphone 4 and immediately upgraded to iOS 4.02. The other day I discovered that all of a sudden I can not see any of the pictures taken with the camera. In the Camera Roll I see the thumbnails. When I try to see the pictures I only get a black screen. For the two videos I recorded I have a similar problem, I see the thumbnails but it says "The video can not be played". I have not synced any of the pictures in iTunes, just music. I tried to restart the iPhone, did not help. I tried to sync the iPhone and then restart and connect again, problem remains. Please help!

You've stumbled across another publishing bug in iWeb 1.1 & 1.1.1. When you publish a page with images that go to the "Images" folder, other pages that have images in this folder will have their images removed. Images only seem to go missing on pages that are NOT published during an editing session, so a "publish all" is a workaround. Also, if you edit a pictures within iWeb, it seems to create an "edited" copy that gets placed in Page_files folder for the page, also working around the proglem. I can't figure out why it places only certain (non-edited?) files in the Images folder, perhaps it is trying to do some images sharing across the pages.

After I import pictures from a canon camera to iphoto, they do not appear in the camera menu when I click on it in the program. Does that mean they are deleted from the camera or are they just hidden on the program but still on the camera?

Does that mean they are deleted from the camera
Did you delete them after importing the photos? If so did you reformat the memory card using the camera (recommended) or have iPhoto delete then after importing (not recommened) or did you choose to keep the photos?

No one but you can answer this - are they still on the memory card when you put it in the camera
BTW it is strongly recommended that you never have any computer program including iPhoto delete your photos - after importing keep the photos and then after at least one successful backup cycle you can use your camera's format command to reformat and erase the memory card - personally I rotate between three large cards so I do not delete the photos from my memory card for a year or more

Still image disappears from menu background on burning to DVD

I’ve just completed a project in Adobe Premiere Elements 9 in which I’ve personalized the menu background with a still image (trying two different disc menu templates - sport swimming and one under memories - can't remember the name of that one). With both these templates the still image shows up perfectly on my computer screen while I'm in the project but when I burn the project to DVD the still image doesn't appear on playback of the DVD. I have done other projects in PE9 with no problems with still images in existing disc menu templates - travel ship template and the template that comes as standard with PE9 before adding additional templates). I would prefer not to use either of these templates for my current project.
I see previous treads have commented on changing the size of the image...this doesn't seem to make a difference for me and the other suggestion is to somehow change the name of the file for the templates to get around this problem but i'm not understanding this. I still don't understand why some templates work and others don't. Does anyone have a simple to understand solution to this?
Or does anyone have a list of the disc menu templates that work with personalizing?

There does seem to be a bug that affects some menu templates.
Try the Generic template under the General tab.
There are also a number of menu templates available at Premiere Elements support site http://Muvipix.com that will work with no problem and can be easily customized.

Images Disappear from Collection

I installed Bridge CS5 Version 4.0.3.9 yesterday. The first time I opened it one of my "Collections" that originally contained 8-10 photos only contained two photos. I dragged and dropped all of the photos I had wanted back in that collection. I quit the program. When I restarted it, again, only two of the photos intended for that collection were actually there.
Anyone else having this issue? Any solutions forthcoming?
(Using Bridge CS5 v4.0.3.9 on Mac OsX 10.5.8)

There seem to be some issues with collections in CS5. As far as I discovered
this can be caused by 2 actions.
First is renaming the folder after you have put some files in it instead of
renaming it by the first opportunity you get when creating the collection.
Second I think it is caused by not letting the collection cache or index
itself to the end. The last one seems a bit difficult to control because not
all the caching and indexing is always that clear in the activity window.
Could you try those two options for yourself and see if this does a better
job?

Images disappear after being selected from galleries

I created an app in Project Siena that serves as a product catalog for our Remote Sales team to use on their tablets. The app relies heavily on image galleries for navigation. Everything works fine, except that as you navigate back and forth
through the app pages, images that have been previously selected start disappearing from their gallery upon returning to their page. Anyone seen this happen before?

Hi Bruton, thanks for the quick response. I'll try and break this down as simply as possible:
-Built on Excel tables containing links to images. The images are located in a mapped network drive that is synced offline.
-All images appear fine at first as you navigate through the app; then, as you go back to the Index page and go back through the same pages, you start to see previously selected images disappear from the gallery. All the other images show up fine in
the gallery. Only the ones that have been selected previously disappear. If you close that app and re-open it, voila, all images display without issue.
-This same phenomena occurs while running the app in Project Siena; when the images start disappearing, I will update the data sources, and voila, the missing images come back.
-There are four basic pages that each contain an image gallery: Index, Brand, Group, and Product
-You drill down by selecting a brand, then a product Group, then an individual product (hence the 4 pages)
-Note: some "brands" that are chosen take you directly to the Product page, bypassing the Group page
-The image galleries on each page are used for the navigation (drilling-down to next level)
-When you tap an image from the gallery, you launch the next page... below is the navigation code for the image gallery on the Brands page. (I used "UpdateIf" function w/ 1=1 so it's always true, because I wasn't sure how to use other "Update"
functions.)
