Selecting a driver

I have an M-audio firewire 410 audio interface hooked up to 6 speakers, and it works great with my FCP and iTunes. Then I go to Logic, and go to Preferences, Audio, Drivers, and set it to the firewire 410 multi-channel selection. When I go to my timeline and press play in Logic, there is no sounds, even though the sound is showing up visually in the audio gauges. Even when I quit Logic, no sound will play in ay of my programs unless I restart my computer. Then everything is back to normal until I use Logic again. Can anyone please help me with setting up Logic with this driver? I've recorded a few things with Logic, but I'm very much a novice with the program. Thanks!

mmhhh... buggy drivers?
Did you install last version (1.8.2)?

    Hi,
How do you connect the printer to the XP machine ? If USB, you need to make that machine as a Print server. Please try this:

  • Windows 8.1 installation select the driver to install

    Hi,
I am trying to install windows 8.1 64 bit onto my late 2012 mac book pro retina using the latest version of Maverick.
I have used bootcamp assistant and am installing window 8.1 from a Microsoft created disk.
After progressing through the partition and initial installation without any issues, I have reached a point during the "collecting information" phase and a windows set up dialog box has appeared asking me to select the driver to install.
I have browsed the USB with bootcamp 5.1 on it and the windows disk and "rescanned" but i get a "load driver" dialog box that reads:
"No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contacts the correct drivers, then click ok"
Where will find the correct device drivers if not on bootcamp 5.1 or the windows disk?
I have successfully installed another copy of windows onto an iMac and didn't encounter this problem.
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

  • "Please Select a Driver or Printer Model"

I have 2 identical HP OfficeJet 4215 all-in-one machines in my house. One is connected directly to my mac via USB. I am trying to connect the other to an Express in another part of the house. The Express is set up correctly to connect to my wireless network, and the connected printer is recognized as the correct model. However, when I try to add that printer as a Bonjour printer, the drop down box says "Please Select a Driver or Printer Model", even though the other (identical) printer directly connected via USB is already set up just fine. I have no idea what to do next, as the drivers are supposedly included in 10.5.2, and the local printer already is working.
This seems like it should be brain-dead simple, so what am I missing?

  • Trying to reingtall win7 on pavillion dv7 cant get past a dialog select the driver to be installed

Hi I have a HP Pavillion DV7-4065dx Refurbished Notebook PC with the following specs:
    AMD Phenom II Triple-Core N830 2.1GHz
    4 DDR3
    500 HDD
    Blu-ray
    17.3" Display
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
    MPN:  RB-WQ861UA
    Serial Number: [Personal Information Removed]
I recently tried to reinstall my windows and made the mistake of loading windows 7 Home Premium x86 (32 bit) when it should have been Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and my fingerprint reader wouldn't install. I tried upgrading to the 64 bit which failed with a message about incompatible hardware. I tried doing a HP System restore from both the restore drive and from backup disks I didn't have any luck with either. The restore using the 5 cds I created made it to the 5th cd and then failed without any reason other than error code "HP Recovery Manager error Code 0xe0ef000e" and told me to contact HP Support.
I have deleted my partitions and created just one partition at this point and tried to install windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and it starts off ok but gets to a dialog that says install windows => select the driver to be installed => and I can't get beyond this point. It doesn't tell me what driver it is looking for and my only options are browse and rescan because next is grayed out.

    Hi:
Your PC should not require any special drivers for W7 to install.
Try downloading the W7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit iso file from the link below and follow the instructions to use the Microsoft ISO to USB tool.
Make sure you get the whole file to download. Make a note of the advertised size and compare that with the actual file that downloaded. Sometimes it states the download was complete but the whole file isn't there.
Use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link  below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
    http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

  • Won't cold-boot "reboot and select proper drive"

    Hello all,
I am an experience PC tech but I have run into this issue that I can't seem to fix. I am working of my friends HP Pavillion P6597 desktop. For some reason it just won't coldboot. Start the PC and it displays the message to reboot and select proper drive or bootable media. Go into BIOS, then exit BIOS without changing anything and it boots fine. Restart it once it's running, boots fine. I have obviously checked the boot sequence, the HD with several test, the SATA cables. If anyone has any ideas I can try that would be great. Thanks for your time.

  • Unable to select two drives for time machine backup?

I had a notification from Time Machine saying "This backup is too large for the disk..." and that I needed to omit items or select another drive. I've read online that it's possible to select multiple drives for Time Machine backups (so it switches between the available drives). When I go into Time Machine preferences and click "Select Disk" the drive I want to use in addition to my current Time Machine is there, but when I choose the additional drive I do not get the option to replace or "Use Both" (like pictured). Instead the additional drive is selected as the sole Time Machine and the current Time Machine drive is replaced.
In short, Time Machine is not giving me the option to "Use Both" - why would this be and how do I remedy this?
    Thanks.

The reason is that that feature is Only offered in "Mountain Lion" OS X 10.8; and you are using "Lion" 10.7.
    Hope this helps

  • HT3986 To install windows 7, I am stuck on a screen that asks for me to select the driver to be installed. I do not know what I need to do from here. Please help!

I have been stuck at this point for well over an hour and stillhave not solved this problem. The windows 7 installer isasking me to selet a driver to be installed. I have tried a blank USB, a USB with bootcamp on it, and also a blank disc. No results.

I click next, then it asks for me to select a driver.
That's where I am stuck at.

  • Can I select certain drives only for Time Machine backup?

I have several internal drives and several external drives connected to my MacPro desktop computer.  If I backup everything in all of the drives using Time Machine, the capacity on my designated external drive for Time Machine backup will soon be filled.  Is there any way to selectively backup via Time Machine from  only designated drives, not all drives connected (internally or externally) to my computer?  Is so, how can that be done?  I assume that Time Machine will start deleting data when its capacity is exceeded.  If that is so, and I remove the designated Time Machine drive at that point and replace it with a new drive, will the removed drive thereafter be able to be reinserted and the prior material read and transferred as needed? Is there any way to utilized Time Machine after I insert the replacement drive to only archive new material saved after the switch of drives?

Yes, mount the drive by opening a new Finder window and clicking on your base station's name in the left column that says 'Shared'. Then double click on the drive name to mount it on your desktop. From there, open Time Machine prefs and select that mounted drive as your backup disk. Time machine will then back up to it. Theoretically.
If you want that disk to automatically mount every time you login to your computer, go to Sys Prefs Panel and select 'Accounts'. Then click 'Startup Items'. From there, drag the mounted drive's icon from the desktop in to that startup items list. It will then auto-mount from there forward.
I have had many problems backing up this way with Time Machine. It will, 9 times out of 10, fail over a wireless backup with an Airport Extreme Gigabit base station and a 1TB Western Digital My Book. Nothing seems to fix, so I have given up. When TM is finally fixed - I will use it. Until then, it's junk software as far as I'm concerned.
But - best of luck. The instructions above are how it's 'supposed' to work..

  • How can I partition an external hard drive with data in it? When I select the drive, the partition option is grayed out.

I am having a problem partitioning an external hard drive with data in it.
When I select the partition, everything is grayed out.  I can't add a a partition for some reason.  When I asked this question to other people, they told me to select my partition "io" to do it from there.
As you can see, I can't seem to partition it form there either.  I ran the Verify Disk utility but the volume came out okay.
Any ideas as to what the problem would be?
    Thanks!
    Luis

Select the main hard drive entry (topmost one.) Click on the Partition tab. Shrink the existing partition by grabbing the sizing gadget in the bottom right corner and pushing up until you free up enough space for your second partition. Be sure you do not shrink to less than the space currently occupied by your files. Click on the Add[+] button to create a new partition in the free space. Click on the Apply button and wait until the partitioning is completed.

  • Lion won't install can't select hard drive that is used for time machine backups

I installed Lion, agreed to the eula but both drives are greyed out. My Macintosh HD - ( this dirve is used for time machine backups) and my external drive (this drive does not use the GUID Partition Table scheme...). Though I don't use time machine, I tried turning it on and selecting the external drive with no luck. I'm stuck - any ideas?

"Backups.backupdb" if the file in Time Machine.  As the discussion says, you have to find that file and trash it.  Try spotlight to locate it.  If that does not work, down load OmniDiskSweeper from the Internet (free) and go through an organized search to find "Backups.backupdb".  If that takes too long or is too tedious, then if you have everything backed up, erase the HDD and start from square one.
    Ciao.

  • Satellite Pro 6070 Slim Select Bay Drive won't regonize CDs

I have a problem with my Slim Select Bay DVD drive. The disc motor is running and the laser unit is moving, but it won't recognize any disc until I flip the whole notebook on the right side.
Then after a few attempts with opening and closing the drive, the drive reads the disc at most times. So i think it's a problem with the contacts inside the notebook because windows does recognize it everytime.
Has anyone here any idea how to solve it?
