Selecting a favourite doesn't close the list

Explorer (all versions from 3) has always closed the drop down list once the favourite has been selected. This is vital, particularly on a small screen netbook. After all who wants a third of the available viewing area taken up by a non-required list?, and anyway it's simply annoying. I quite like Firefox otherwise. Is there a method of making this 'auto hide/close' happen?

Hving recently moved from IE after many years, I suspect the problem is one of interpretation.
I had assumed that the 'starred blue book' icon (Display your Bookmarks), worked in the same way as the 'gold star' in IE 7. (I tried loading in Safe mode and got the same problem, which led me to realise that the 'blue book' means permanently display your bookmarks!).
It would seem the only way in FF to access the full bookmark list, is; "click" Bookmarks, "click"From Internet Explorer, "click" relevant bookmark. This seems a bit long winded after the simplicity of the 'IE star' which simply displayed the list when clicked.

Is there some way I can open the contact list, click on all of the individual addresses to which I want to send the email without the list closing between each address entry, and have all of my address entries be listed to the email at one time? Something like it works in Gmail. I do not want to use set lists, I want to enter different addresses each time I send an email. And I am a very slow typist, so I don't want to type the first few letters of each recipient's name. It is much faster for me to just click on the e-mail addresses in the list as a group. It doesn't make any sense to me to have to reopen the contact list for each address, when it should be so easy to click on all of the addresses I want at one time and then click once to add them all to the email as a group. If there is a solution to this, please tell me. Thanks.

Try this:
1. Select Mail>File>New Message.
2. Select Mail>Window>Address Panel.
3. Use (command+click) on the desired addressees in the Address Panel to create the list.
4. Click "To:" on the top left of the Address Panel.
The group that you selected will be added to the "To" field in your New Message.

Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox

SiteManager doesn't update the list of websites after creating a LiveCopy

Hi,
I am facing a strange issue with the SiteAdmin LiveCopy feature.
I have created a LiveCopy website from a BluePrint site. The new livecopy site is created successfully with all the necessary rollout config changes. But for some reason the SiteAdmin refresh doesn't show the website list. The page is blank. I can only see the list of websites on the left side frame. The right side frame is empty. Please see the attached image and the firebug error log.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue are most welcome. Appreciate for your time.

The trial can only be loaded 1 time as far as I know. You could try http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, and reboot. Then try an install again, but my guess is you will have to purchase Acrobat at this point.

Builded executable doesn't close the main VI front panel

I created an application with the Application Builder. All of it runs well, except that when the operator ends the program, the front panel of the main vi (the only top-level VI) remains open.
Moreover, inside the VI window appears the toolbar with only the Run button on (in the VI properties I choosed to hide toolbar and menu bar).
Is there a way to close the front panel when the program completes execution?

I ussually use the "Quit LabVIEW" function found in the application control palette when application finishes. I use a utility that checks to see if it is running in the development or run time enviroment and only quits LabVIEW if it's in the run time enviroment.
This wouldn't work to well if you were running other LabVIEW programs though.

ICal under 10.5 doesn't print the List view with To Do's correctly.

The problem is this: I have a bunch of To Do's in iCal. I usually print them out on paper using the LIST VIEW (print dialog) so that I can take my To Do list with me. Unfortunately, after updating to Leopard 10.5, all the URL's in my To Do's have wierd links to my email and print funny code on paper now. It's like the added feature of To Do's in mail has caused something here. Anyone else experiencing this? By this way, this only happens with old to do's (before the upgrade), not new ones.

This has happened to me as well. Our school uses phpicalendar to publish lesson plans to our web server. I have had this happen to three other teachers as well. In order to get them back to the correct server I have to export their calendars to the desktop, create a new calendar and publish it to the correct location, then import their calendars from the desktop. I haven't been able to re-enter the correct URL in the existing calendars - get an error when publishing.

It's just that you are a tad bit behind the times here, shouser. When iTunes 11 came out your issue came up many times a day for many weeks. The question was asked and answered time and time again. I'm sure that Apple is very clear on the response to that decision. I'm not saying that I liked it any better than you, but the discussion is SO over....

Finder doesn't refresh the list of files

I have a problem in Finder, it has stopped automatically refreshing the content in folders. Earlier I could move/rename/etc files and folders in other applications and the finder would automatically keep my view up to date.
Now i have to go out and back in to the folder to view the new content.
What's wrong?

first, restart the computer. if that does not help reset your finder preferences. delete the file /users/yourusername/library/preferences/com.apple.finder.plist, then control-option-click on finder in the dock and choose "relaunch". see if that helps.

How to calculate the last selected item in a tree node where we can customize the list to the node.

I'm new to the Flex field. I got a task where i have a tree (TREE is the id) with X and Y as nodes. In X i have got a list of pages(dataprovider is array collection) added dynamically(means User can configure the pages).On selecting last item(last page) in the list of X node, the view will be presented with a component say Xlast on the right side which is in view stack. In that component , there is button called NEXT which has to be greyed out for the last page. I tried by calling the below code on viewChange event
if(viewstack.selectedchild == XlastpageId)
Nextbtn.enabled = false;
but this will work only when we know XlastpageId is the lastpage for the tree. but how to implement this when we dont know which is the last page of the X node in a Tree.
I also tried by calculating the children of the tree on tree click event which is
if (Tree.selectedItem == TREE.numChildren - 1)
Nextbtn.enabled = false;
i know this is wrong because we have 2 children for the tree( X and Y) so it is showing 2-1 and the button is greyed out for the first click.
Please help me out.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to monitor the last login user’s details.
There is no out of the box way to achieve it in SharePoint.
We can use cookie to be a flag for checking whether there is an user just log in. After the page loaded, if the cookie is null, it suggests that there is an user just log in our site, then we
can get this user’s information using JavaScript Object Model and add the information into a custom list. With this list, we can monitor user’s login details.

How can i show the first item in the list as selected item

How can i show the first item in the list as selected item when user click on the list. Right now when user click the list the list shows the last item in the list as selected or highlighted. Furthermore if the list item have large no of value and a scroll bar along with it then the list scroll to last item when user click it with mouse. I want that when user click the list item with mouse list should show the first item as highlighted.

You can set list "initial value" using When-Create-Record trigger.
I.g.
:<Block_name>.<list_item_name> := Get_List_Element_Value('<Block_name>.<list_item_name>', 1);

My Macbook keyboard and trackpad become unresponsive for periods of time when I shut my mac off or when I close the lid.

Sometimes it starts working again when I turn it back on and sometimes it doesn't. It's not the keyboard. I installed a new one and still have the same issues. I am not sure what to do to fix this problem. Has anyone experience this before? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would like you to create a new admin user with Users & Groups for testing purposes. Turn off auto-login if you have it enabled. Restart the computer and log into the new account. Test if the problem still exists or has ceased. If it has ceased then the issue is most likely something in your user account. You can start by using software like CockTail, Onyx, or Mountain Lion Cache Cleaner (look for them at www.macupdate.com) to clean up system, user, and font caches, check for old log files, etc. Do this all in your usual account, btw.
See how that helps your situation. If it's not in your user account, then it's a system issue. You can then try reinstalling to see if that helps:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

How are you viewing your library? In Song view or Album View?
If in Album view pull down View > Show View Options and select Sort by: Artist, then: (whichever choice you want here).
If in Song view I like to see the album artwork so pull down View > Show View Options and select "show album artwork" and close the small window. Then click on the column that contains the artwork and sort it by Artist.

My iMac doesn't load past the start up white screen and doesn't reach the login screen.

I'm having issues trying to load my iMac up after i had to to shut it down the other day. when i start it up it makes the chirme
and reaches the white screen with the loading symbol but doesn't move on from there! Doesn't anyone know how to fix this to get to the login screen?
