Selecting all "error" tracks

An awful lot of my tracks (hundreds, maybe thousands) are showing up twice in iTunes, one copy of each with an error ("!" in a grey circle) icon by the side, all because I've changed the location of my MP3 folder and reimported the tracks back into iTunes. Holding down CTRL and clicking each one individually, then pressing DELETE is driving me crazy as you would expect, so is there an easy way to select all tracks which have an error status?
Dell Dimension Windows XP

Go to my iTunes scripts page and follow the link there for downloading Perl (if you don't have it already). Install Perl, and then download and run my itunesremovenotfound.pl script (by double-clicking on the downloaded file) to remove the tracks with !. Select the Library (number 1) when prompted.
NOTE: the script will run MUCH faster if, in iTunes, you select a DIFFERENT playlist to view than the Library.

  • Track Select Forward Tool / Track Select Backward Tool

I'm an regular Premiere Pro user doing more work in Audition these days.  One tool I can't find in Audition that I really miss from Premiere Pro is the Track Select Forward Tool / Track Select Backward Tool.  Is there something like this in Audtion?  It is basically a cursor that can select everything from a point forward (or back) on the timeline.  This makes it easy to shift long projects with hundreds of clips, instead of zooming out to drag-select everything.
Practical example is editing an hour long podcast with 100 cuts.  Somewhere in the middle of the project, one second needs to be removed.  It would be nice to make the cut, then use Track Select Forward to select everything from that point on, then slide it to fill the one second gap.
    Thanks,
    jb

You can either use Ctrl Click to add clips to your selection across tracks. Or alternatively if you click with either the Move tool or the Time Selection tool in an blank area on any track the Marquee tool becomes available to draw over any clips on any tracks to select any clip that it touches. Or you can Select All Clips/Tracks and Ctrl click to remove them from the selection.
In your practical example first use the Time selection tool to mark the time that you wish to delete. Then use any of the above methods to select the clips that you wish to affect. Finally use Time Selection in Selected Clips in the Ripple Delete menu to remove the unwanted part. Note the other options in the Ripple Delete menu that may also be useful to you.

  • HOW YOU GET IMOVIE TO SELECT/TRIM ALL THE TRACKS IN THE TIMELINE?

trying to burn dvd of my vacation and imported the clips from the camera into imovie. worked great. i imported my audio into garageband to add some filters, compression and eq, and imported it back into imovie as a separate track. then, i muted the origional audio track from the camera. still great. now, i need to trim some clips because idvd says my movie too long to burn on a single-layer disc. not great, *****! so, then i went back to imovie and trimmed a clip and now the audio that is after the trimmed track is totally out of sync. really really *****!!!! it turns out that imovie only trimmed the video and left my second audio track alone. WHY??? ***!!! does anyone know how to trim clips so that imovie trims all the tracks? do you hold down 'shift' or 'option' or something??? there must be a way to do it. HELP!!! god, i hope i can burn this disc sometime in 2007.

yea, thanks matt but i thought of that. if i do that i have to do my whole idvd project over again. i dont think i have enuff sanity left for that. i have a really complicated idvd project thats totally done. i think im just gonna burn it to a DLdisc instead.
but hey, maybe you can help me with this question:
i made a disk image of my vacation in maui, which is 1 hour 43 mins & chose the 'best quality' option. it has lots of violent ocean footage w/lots of motion, crazy colors, rainbows etc. its taken from a canon alura dv cam & looked awesome in imovie. my imovie project is roughly 23gb. when i watched the 4gb disk image that idvd created in DVD Player, it looked really blocky especially in the water/ocean scenes. like a bad divx rip from 1997, haha. im not happy with it at all. i kinda thought about how idvd would get 23gb compressed down to 4gb and worried about how it would look. well, my worring paid off cause it looks like crap.
then, i looked at the project info window in idvd. if i select 'best performance' the capacity changed from 3.6gb to 6gb, whoa??? uh, that doesnt make sense. \ im gonna try to encode it using this 'best performance' that they speak of, and see if it helps. i just want my movie to look good and ill do anything, ill use a dvdisc if i have to! why spend hours making a perfect imovie/garageband/idvd project if your source footage looks like dog poop in the final stage. im assuming it will look better when i select this 'best performance' thingie because common sense and logic tell me 6gb is bigger than 3.6.
then i got really CRAZZIIEE and looked at the 4gb idvd image next to 1 of my source .dv files in vlc player. vlc player says my disk image is getting about 4-6,000kb/s fluctuating, BUT my .dv file is 30,000kb/s sustained!!! how do i get 30,000kb/s sustained on my dvd??? wow, that would be great!!! prob not possible with my luck? my dvd player will explode into flames when i try to play it, right? also, how can i get the quailty higher? idvd is only going to use 6gb of a dual-layer disc, why if it has the capacity to hold 9gb? any help would be greatly appreciated!!! i thought about dvd studio pro but i would only try that if it will import my idvd theme perfectly, cause im not doing all that crap again. if im stuck with a 9gb dldisc that only used 6 gb, at least thats better than 3.6gb. ill settle for that if i have to.
    mahalo,
    jarett

  • Select All Following Of Same Track ... odd

    I don't quite understand this:
I want to select all the clips to the right of cursor on a single track. But this command: Edit > Select All Of Same Track -- selects all the clips to the right of the cursor BUT ONE! Meaning, the first clip after the cursor is NOT selected. I don't get the Logic of this (excuse the pun). Or is there some other keystroke in Logic that will let me do something similar to FCP (where one hits the T key to select all the clips before or after the cursor on a single track of the timeline).
I'm editing a monster voice-over ... any help would be MOST appreciated...
    Thank you,
    Ben

    Thank you most kindly Christian,
I've got to learn to think in terms of regions, instead of clips. And to NOT look for parallels with FCP.
This makes me a very happy camper.
    Much appreciated...
    Ben
Oh, and is there any way to select in the opposite direction, like all the regions BEFORE the region I've highlighted? That would be most useful too.

  • Can Garageband NOT select all regions on a track when I select the track???

I'm recording audio on 2 tracks. When I switch from one track to the other, it doesn't look like anything's selected because all the other regions are off the screen to the right. If I record a quick region and then delete it, EVERYTHING ON THAT TRACK GETS DELETED because it's automatically selected.
So ... where is the setting in Garageband that lets you select a track without selecting all the regions on it?

When you select a track, it automatically selects all of the regions in the track, which I think is silly.
Only, you cannot avoid it. It is built in. So deselect the regions afterwards by clicking some empty space in the track.
Write feedback to Apple with a feature request, that you want it changed:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/garageband.html

  • Can not see all my tracks in environment window

    Hello everyone,
i just got a 32 inch lcd screen from a friend and i can not figure out how to see all my tracks?
is there a way to resize the tracks in the enviornment window?
It would be great to be able to see the top tear of my tracks in full as well as the bottom tear of tracks, this screen is certainly large enough.
    lol

How much stuff you can fit on the monitor depends on the resolution of the monitor, not the size.
In the inspector you can uncheck some boxes of what is displayed.  In the environment it is object specific, not global like in the mixer - so you have to select the channels that you want to hide certain parameters, and each one can be different.

I'm using jdev 11.1.1.6.0, but I've found a serious bug in our database fetch code (we're building on top of OIM, and using their programmatic fetch interface, rather then using the native DB support in ADF), namely that STARTROW was ignored, which would prevent it from discovering the table size.
I'm going to get that fixed, and expect the issue will go away.

  • Using (Select All) for report parameter

    Hi there,
I am Looking for assistance in making the the (Select All) option work for a particular report. The parameter is for product families (which there are about 47 unique results for). The report is also influenced by two other parameters, one being a date type
i.e 'MTD' 'YTD' 'MAT'. When a long date type such as MAT is selected, selecting all families causes the report to get stuck in an endless loop.
I've tried creating my own <Select All'> item in the parameter dataset, then I have the opposite issue, the <Select All> selection works perfectly but when I try and tick two or more product families I recieve the following error:
"An expressions of non-boolean type specified in a context where a condition is expected, near ',' "
    Parameter Dataset:
    SELECT '<Select All>' AS family_description, '<Select All>' AS family_code
    UNION ALL
    SELECT DISTINCT family_description, family_code
    FROM dim_item AS item
    ORDER BY family_description
    Snippet From Main Report Dataset:

    sales.oe_branch_code IN (@Branch)
    And
    sales.order_status <> 'X' and sales.line_status <> 'X'
    AND (item.family_code IN (@Family) OR @Family = '<Select All>')
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks Kindly
    SQL Novice

    Hi KCBA,
I have check the query you have provided the issue cause by the query "
    AND (item.family_code
    IN (@Family)
    OR @Family =
'<Select All>')" you are using which is incorrect.
If the parameter @Family have set as "Allow multiple values" then you don't need to add new label "Select All" for the multiple value parameter already have this section, if the parameter @Family is not the multiple values
parameter and you want to select all the values or just select one, you can modify the query as below which will works fine:

  • Using Select all to create multiple lines in a sales order

    Hello SAP experts,
In our business practice users create multiple line sales orders with reference to contracts and use the copy paste method and then assign each line to the contract manually.
After a few years of this practice i found a new way to create multiple lines but it doesn't quite work correctly. When you have created the first line of an order if you click on the select all button the system will ask you how many lines do you want to copy. I don't know if this is standard SAP but 3 things don't happen when we use this 1) The schedule line information is blank 2) conditions do not copy from the contract even though the contract has been referenced. 3) Since there is no schedule line information the order fails when saving and we get a update terminated message.
I am having problems finding any documentation around this function so any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

  • An easy way to delete a whole album without having to select it's tracks?

I have only been using iTunes for the past week after purchasing an iPod Nano, and am used to using Wmp 11. In Wmp 11, if you want to delete an album from your local library or dap, you can just right-click the album art and select 'delete'- job done.
However, in iTunes, I have found I have to make sure my Artist and Album categories are shown at the top of my track list (by clicking the 'eye' button at the bottom right), select the album so just that albums tracks are displayed, select one of the tracks, then Ctrl+A to highlight all the tracks, then press Del. Is there something I am missing here? I have checked the iTunes help, and can't see any other way of deleting a whole album without having to highlight all the albums tracks.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Blimey! Why didn't I think of that? Especially as I knew to press the 'Del' key to delete highlighted tracks. I am assuming you can do the same if you want all an artists album collection removed too- highlight the artist and press 'Del'?
I think what it is, I am just used to right-clicking with Wmp11, and I am not used to using the keyboard for such tasks.
Thanks for the reply. I know now my question must seem rather silly.

  • How can I make all my tracks start at the same time? In bar 0 to be more specific

HI! I want all my tracks to start at the same time. I need teh audio files to start at bar numer cero.

Hi, first you'll have to adjust the project start to bar zero like shown here:
    http://help.apple.com/logicpro/mac/10/#lgcpce0833d7
…then select all regions in your project and make sure the playhead is positioned at the start of bar zero exactly, now follow this:

  • On closing Photoshop CC, I am getting an error message on screen that read's "Selective Palette error: no element found at line 1. Are you able to assist with this problem?

Can anyone shed some light on this error message I am getting upon closing Photoshop CC
I am getting an error message on screen that read's "Selective Palette error: no element found at line 1. Are you able to assist with this problem?

Same issue here in WI and for me it was at 6:36p CST.
I'm changed my password, removed iCloud from my phone ... tried 3G and WIFI with no luck. I also cannot check it on my Mac or iPad. I was able to get contacts and calenders back on my phone but no mail yet.
Did the whole Apple support thing and apparently I'm part of the 1%
EDIT: Question: are all of you former MobileMe users as well? Just wondering because I know there were going to be some changes as they completely move MobileMe over to iCloud and drop the "extra" services. I just can't remember if it was just a single cut off date or a series of dates. THAT email is stuck in my iCloud folders.

  • Bridge CS6 crashing after a "Select All" command.

    Hello all-
I'm running Lion 10.7.4 on a 2008 MacBook Pro Unibody w/ a 2.4GHz processor and 8GB of ram. I have an SSD as my boot drive, it also houses all of my applications. All of my data / app data is stored on another 2.5 HDD that's in my optical bay (I installed a "data doubler").
I wasn't running any Adobe products on my old setup, so I recently purchased Adobe CS6. I haven't run into any issues with any other program besides Bridge. The application opens and functions fine, it's only after I Command+A a selection of files... that I get a "The Operation Could Not Be Completed" error message. When I Command + A or drag my cursor over all of the files to select them, the program comes to a standstill and beachballs before giving me the message. After closing the error message dialogue box I can continue working, but sometimes Bridge can become completely unresponsive as far as opening folders or displaying thumbnails. Then I have to force quit the application because normal quit commands don't work.
I've noticed that this is ONLY happening with .MOV files that I shot on my DSLR that are stored on an external HD. I've been able to Select All on other files on and off the external HD just fine. It's really a strange little problem! It has to have something to do with the DSLR files. I've also realized that I could select a portion of the problematic files without getting an error message, a total of 8 to be specific.
I'm sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but a quick search through the forums proved fruitless. I'd appreciate any kind of feedback.

In Windows machine it could be the page file size, not sure what that would be in a Mac.
That probably would be page in and out and Used Swap. You will find that info when opening Activity Monitor from the utilities folder.
usually the used Swap will increase after quitting PS and also Bridge can consume a lot.
Be sure to first let the cache finish properly on the external disk, if possible use export cache to folder option in the preferences, might help also.
And ditto for me,  no experience with system divided in two disks but it seems possible. Don't know what you mean with data doubler, if you have preferences, caches and library on two disk this might conflict or at least it can be tricky.
