Selecting different email addresses for a contact

On my iPad, I have several contacts that have multiple email addresses. When I try to send an email, it always brings in the first email for that contact and doesn't seem to offer a way to select the alternate addresses. Is this doable?

Don't be upset...this is very easy to do. Go to your Address Book -> hoghlight a contact and click Menu button -> Edit -> click Menu button and select Add Email Address. You Done!!
You can add up to 3 email addresses.

    How do I select when I send an email to a contact in my address book to send the email to more than one of their email addresses?

    you have to enter those addresses separately in the "To" line of the outgoing message. that's the only way.

  • How to make a distribution list that includes all email addresses for each contact?

    Is it possible to create a distribution list that allows you to select all possible email addresses for each contact within a group? I am running into the problem that I can only select one email address for each contact, but need multiple. How can this email list be generated using the Contacts app and Mail?

    You can't with the way it currently works.
    I've never tried, but you might try multiple groups, each with a different email selected.
    I think I created an Applescript that would grab every address of every selected person and address an email. It is probably buried in the bowels of these forums.

  • How do I add multiple email addresses for a contact to a group?

    (I'm a recent convert from eMailer to Outlook Express, to Entourage, and finally to Mail.app)
    I'm trying to set up a group in Address Book that includes multiple email addresses from a given card. These are folks that want me to include, for example, both their work and home email addresses when I send to this particular group.
    I see that Address Book has the ability to use "Edit Distribution List..." to select one email address for a given card/contact, but I can't get it to allow me to use two or three for a given card.
    I suppose for now I can just create a duplicate card, and pick one address from each.
    Is there a better way?

    Sorry, but Address Book does not allow you to select more than one email address to send to in a group. There's really no reason why people need multiple copies of a message, anyway; they have the option of forwarding email to another email address of theirs.

    I have a new iPad. I am using Comcast as my email provider but when I send a message, it pulls up the facebook email addresses for my  contacts  instead of the addresses stored in my comcast account.  How can I get rid of the Facebook email addresses? The comcast addresses are stored in the comcast (xfinity) app.  I do not use the "mail" or "contacts" apps ....I go straight to comcast (xfinity).  I wish I could start over!!!  thanks.

    I could be wrong, but it sounds like Facebook imported to your contacts.  I have the Xfinity app on my new ipad, too, but none of my stored contacts from the online version are showing, only what I manually entered into the iPads contacts are there.  When I did add the FB app, I did not grant it permission to push and pull from my ipad (not a fan of FB knowing every detail about me), so that may be where our difference lies.  You could try to open the app and change your privacy settings, or delete it and then reinstall without granting permissions to integrate.
    I'm sure someone here with a lot more knowledge then me can probably diagnose your issue better, though.  Good luck!

    how do I set up a different email address for HPePrint

    @poloacuna
    At this time you cannot reassign printer email addresses.  Also, keep in mind If you delete a printer email address then you will not be able to use that same email address again for six months.

  • Setting up a different email address for outgoing emails from Iphone

    I receive all my incoming emails to my iPhone through my @me.com account (mobileme).  This way I can have all my other email accounts set up to automatically send an email to my mobile me account which in turn gets pushed to my iPhone.  But I want to be able to respond to any email using a differnet email address so subsequent replies from third parties to my emails will not go directly to my mobile me account. (I just want to use it as push server for emails to other accounts).  So what I did is to have my incoming email server be a mobile me account.  On my iPhone I turned off the primary server "smtp.me.com" as the outgoing server and turned on an "other" outgoing server.  But here is the problem and the question.  I can successfuly send out replies using the "other" server but the address of sender on the email is still as being from my @me.com.  So how do I have a different email address for the outgoing emails even though I can use that different email address outgoing server.  Hope this explanation is not too difficult.

    Hi Steve
    is Mail - Preferences - Composing - Send new messages from...
    set to the required account ?

  • Need second email address for a contact

    I need the ability to add a second email address for a contact. I have tried using ";" and "," characters in the email address line, but get an invalid data format error when saving. Short of adding a custom field, is there any way to do this?
    Neil

    Neil, I believe your only option is adding a custom field.

  • Selecting individual email addresses for Mail inbox

    Hi everyone,
    Does anyone know if there is a way on Mail for it to not download all your email's but be able to select certain email addresses that you want to recieve email from?

    I reckon they should probably either make an app or put it in one of the updates so that you have this option otherwise people will get loads of emails that they don't actually want, like me. I'm expecting a few emails from select people that are quite important and I don't want my phone downloading a new bit of junk email every 5 seconds. Oh well, guess I just have to live with that for now

  • I want to use a different email address for my iTunes account.

    My Apple ID is tied to my old email address at Comcast. I no longer have Comcast. I am told that I can't change this. If I create a new account using my me.com address how do I export/import all of my music and apps that were bought under the old ID? This sounds like it would be a pain

    You can set up an email address for your husband by following this guide.
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44610
    Unless you either use different web browsers, ie you use Chrome browser and your husband uses Internet Explorer or you both have different Windows users accounts on your computer you can not have different homepages as such.
    The work around would be to set your browser to open with two tabs, one being your homepage and the other being your husbands home page. I don't use Chrome so I am not sure exactly how you would do that but it would be similar to open your home page then in a seperate tab open your husbands then got to tools in the browser menu and find the setting "set as home page" and save it.

  • Can I use a different email address for the forums than my Apple ID?

    Hi,
    I generally use a particular email address for all my computer/IT forum questions.  This email address is different than my Apple ID email address.
    Can I change my forum email address (doesn't look that way) without changing my Apple ID address?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Fair warning... years ago I went with my work email address as my Apple ID. Now, with the advent of iCloud and all the other 'services' attached to your Apple ID, I find that half the time I cannot log into any one particular service. Apple's servers and ID system is getting way too messy. Keep it as simple as you can. If you add a different email address you are pretty much guaranteed that things will get more complicated.
    These days, to log into these forums I actually have to log into Apple Store first. The discussion log in page will not allow me to log in any longer.
    Keep it simple!

  • Different email addresses for Apple ID and iTunes!

    My daughter got her first iPod Touch today and set it up herself.  Somehow, someway, she set up her iTunes account with her dad's email address and her AppleId on her iPod with my email address.  I can't seem to correct her iTunes account with the correct email address; therefore, she cannot download any music on her iPod!  Please, please help!!

    So she has two Apple ID's at this point?
    Or one Apple ID with two different email addresses set up?

    I am coordinating a large group of people and created a group list of over one hunderd people.  The group is families and each person in the address book has several e-mail addresses. How do I select all the email address under each person in the address book so every family member recieves the e-mails?
    It appears I can select any ONE email address but selecting multiples from any one person is not allowed, why is that? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Odisendmail - Different email address for different context. Flexfields?

    Hi
    I am using odisendmail to send error alerts in packages.
    I want to set up odisendmail to send to one email address in DEV environment and another email address in Production.
    I would like to set up odisendmail to take email address from a user defined variable of some kind, so that when I run the packages under DEV context I get one address and when I run under PROD context I get another address.
    I think I need to use flexfields for this, but I can find very little infor on this in documentation.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can achieve this?
    Thanks in advance
    Tradtshirt

    That is OK too... and quite easy once you wanted to do at design time...
    Just create a query like:
    Select case when '<%=getContext("CTX_NAME")%>' = 'YOUR_DEVELOPMENT_CONTEXT'
    ====== then '[email protected]'
    === case when '<%=getContext("CTX_NAME")%>' = 'YOUR_PRODUCTION_CONTEXT'
    ====== then '[email protected]'
    from dual
    quit the '==' used just to indent the command
    And put this variable in refresh mode inside the package. (as the select is "from dual" you can set any logical schema - oracle in this example)
    Does it help you?
