Selecting the audio to use in a multiclip?

I have a multiclip that has three cameras and all three cameras have audio. I only want to use the audio from camera one, not the other two. How do I select which camera's audio is active in the clip. Also, I want that audio to stay the main audio even when I switch to the other cameras. I know that I can tell it two switch only the video under "multiclip active tracks" in the view menu. Any help would be great, I'm new to fcp. I have been an avid/pinnacle editor for years, and I'm looking forward to my new system!
Thanks,
John

I moved camera 1 to angle 1(top left on a quad split), but angle 2 still has the green square around it which says it it the active audio angle. Camera 1 has the blue square which says it is the active video angle. How do I switch the active audio angle?
Thanks for your help!
John

how can i detach the video from a clip so i can only use the audio when using imovie?

First, go to iMovie/Preferences and enable the Advanced Tools.
Import the video clip into an iMovie Event. When you get ready to use it in an iMovie Project, select the clip in the Event and drag & drop it on top of a video or photo clip in the project at the place where you want it to begin. When the pop-up menu appears, choose Audio Only.

  • Clicking the Stamp tool doesn't select the most recently used stamp - Acrobat X

My issue is pretty much what the title says. Clicking the Stamp tool doesn't select the most recently used stamp. According to the Help screens and training videos, it should. I've checked Edit > Prefernces and could not find a setting that adjusted this behavior of the Stamp tool. Does anyone know what can be done to fix this? BTW - It's not just my installation of Acrobat X. Other users at my firm are having the same issue. The OS is Windows 7. Users have administrator rights. Thanks in advance.

    Hello Abhilasha,
So, what your saying is that this function, the ability to select the most recently used stamp by clicking the stamp tool, has been removed, in spite of the fact that Acrobat's Help pages says it can be done (Using Acrobat X Standard > Collaboration > Commenting > Apply a Stamp > Step 1 > Second bullet). I wish they would put it back. It was quite handy.
Perhaps I should adjust my request. Do you (or anyone else) know of a way to use the same stamp several times in a row without having to choose the stamp from the stamps list? For example, if you needed to put a check-mark stamp in several places in a document, it would be a pain to have to go back to the list each time. Is there perhaps an undocumented feature (maybe holding down a particular key while using the stamp) that would allow for multiple stamping?
    Thank you,
    Phillip

  • I have iMovie 10.0.1.  I used to be able to adjust all fonts, color, even make nice transitions to the in/out of the fonts.  Now, with the latest version, I can't do any of this.  Also -for the audio, I used to be able to add tracks, adjust voume, etc.

What happened the ice features of the previous iMovie  -  I have verson10.0.1 and have lost all the abilty to crete nice titles (most of the fonts are not even adjustable,- and when Ii have the title created, I ca't adust the fade in/out of the titles.  Same with the audio.  I used to be able to add audio on different tracks, and the adjustments of the volume was easy.  Now, it's practically impissible to adjust the volumes to a nice level.    I have never seen Apple create an upgrade which turns out to a serious down-grade from the existing version.    I wonder if versioin 11 fixes all these bugs.  Any one have any ideas.

Yes, that appears how Mavericks works right now. However, you can open the Address Panel, select all your contacts, then click the To (or CC, or Bcc) buttons to move the selection to the address field.
If it is not already in the Toolbar, right-click on the Toolbar and select Customize Toolbar…
Then, drag the address panel up to wherever you want it.
You may also want to add it to the New Message window in the same way.

  • I get recurrent drops of the Audio bridge (using Meetingone) any suggestions?

During presentations using Adobe Connect we use audio bridge for presenters, and the attendees get audio over internet.
We use Meetingone for the telephone connection.
For the last two presentations we've had the audio bridge go down repeatedly (every 10-20 minutes), it reconnects but it takes 5-10 seconds usually, its disruptive, a hassle and of course creates apoor impression. Any ideas whats causing it or how to avoid it?
    Thanks

Well, the first thing I'd ask is how MeetingOne knows so unequivocally that it isn't a problem on their side. What they provided to you as an explanation, other than the words "It's Adobe's servers." Second, have you raised this as an issue with Adobe Support? That's what they're there for. Their monitoring is not sufficient to tell them that there is a disruption in the communication with the MeetingOne servers as its happening, therefore, they don't know there is an issue unless customers call them and tell them.
If their cluster host is not providing them with sufficient throughput, Adobe would want to know that, and again, the only way for them to find out is through complaints of users.
It sure doesn't sound like there's anything you can do about it. This is Adobe's issue to fix. I wouldn't count on it as a resolved issue simply because you were able to have one successful bridge. It's more likely there's a larger issue at hand on the Adobe side. Especially if this is a frequent issue for you.

    Hello,
I have got a problem with 1.4 Printing. I would like to specify the printer tray for printing on Windows platform (XP and NT4.0). I am trying to use the attribute javax.print.attribute.standard.MediaTray class (ex. MediaTray.BOTTOM).
Howerver, I can control the printer tray if I use the PCL driver of the printer. If I user the postscript driver I am not able to control the printer tray. I can reproduce the problem with 3 different printers (HP, Lexmark and Nashuatec).
I used the getSupportedAttributeValues to check the supported values of the Media

    for (int k=0; k<med.length; k++) {
    System.out.println("Name : " + med[k].getClass() + " - Value : " + med[k].getValue());
With the PCL driver I have the following output and I can control the printer tray.

  • How to select the particles after using the Particle Analysis

Can I select the particles after the particle analysis directly, like chosing #1, #2 ..., or should I run the particle filter using the measured parameter?

    Hello Ishi,
I now have a much better idea on what you are trying to do.  If you run the IMAQ Particle Analysis Report VI on the thresholded image that contains particles, an array of clusters will be returned that will contain specific information for each particle including the area, number of holes, bounding rectangle coordinates, center of mass, orientation, and dimensions.
To find out which particle is which in the image, index the Particle Reports (Pixels) output of this VI, unbundle the cluster to extract the Bounding Rectangle cluster, and then pass it to the Rectangle input of an IMAQ Overlay Rectangle VI.  This VI will overlay a bounding rectangle onto the image to show where the particle is located.  You can specify which particle you want highlighted by changing the array index of the Index Array VI that is responsible for extracting a specific cluster of particle information from the Particle Reports output of the IMAQ Particle Analysis Report VI.

  • How do I select the audio output on iTunes...

It keeps playing music through my HD Tv and not my speakers?

My computer is hooked up to my HD Tv through HDMI, and then my speakers are plugged into the audio port

  • If I want to transmit the audio infomation use my own format, how can I do?

In order to transmit the sound for secret, I want to change the default format by encrypting it.
    Is it viable?
If it is viable, where can i find the correlative data?

Seems like there are two directions you could go in. First, you could extend the Processor class to add support for transcoding a new audio format, and then you'd be able to encode/decode it the same way normal audio works. Good luck figuring out how to do that, and good luck find any sort of helpful documentation.
The second idea, which is going to be more documented, is to developed a custom RTP payload. You could then use any audio format, and just encrypt the actual packetized data with whatever data encrpytion scheme you wanted. Most hosts would simply reject the RTP payload if they intercepted the stream, and even if they did receive it, they would have to be able to decrypt it before they could play it.
For more information about creating your own RTP payload type, take a look at:

  • Selecting Sections of the Audio Tracks

I'm doing a lot of tweaking of the audio on my clips. I'm adjusting the volume levels in sections by selecting small sections of audio and moving the level up and down. This works quite nice.
But I can't seam select a smaller section between two others. For example in say a 120s clip, if I select a section at the beginning, modify it and then select a section at the end and modify it, this works. But if I then want to select a smaller section in between, I can't. iMovie selects the full clip between the two sections at the beginning and end that I have already modified. Does anyone know a way to do this?
At this point my work around is to work through the clips from start to finish. Trouble is if I miss something, I can't simply add another section, I have to undo/delete all the ones that are there and then re-add and adjust all of them.

Looks like I need to clarify and add some more details.
But first, I just deleted my preferences, then tried it again and still experience the same exact problem.
Here's a detailed explanation of how to reproduce what I'm seeing.
    1) Create a new project.
    2) Add a clip of at least 35s
    3) Turn waveform view on
    4) Reduce the audio level to 80% between 10-12s by:
    a) Click in the audio around 10 seconds. A yellow audio selection box will appear.
    b) Click to select and move the left and right edges such that you're selecting the audio from 10s to 12s.
    c) Put your cursor over the level bar so the cursor changes.
    d) Reduce volume of this range to 80% by clicking and moving the mouse down.
    5) Reduce the audio level to 0% between 30-35s by:
    a) Click in the audio around 30 seconds. A yellow audio selection box will appear.
    b) Click to select and move the left and right edges such that you're selecting the audio from 30s to 35s.
    c) Put your cursor over the level bar so the cursor changes.
    d) Reduce volume of this range to 0% by clicking and moving the mouse down.
    6) Attempt to reduce the audio level to 50% between 20-22s:
    a) Click on the audio around 20 seconds.
It is at this point, I expect iMovie to show a selection range of 20-23s (assuming 3s is the default selection range). But instead it selects a range from 20-30s - the full duration between the end of the first selection and the beginning of the second selection. This is the problem.
To be clear: I can't select anything less then the full time between the previous two selections.
Yes, I can change this middle range to 20-22s by moving the left/right yellow edges, which was my goal in this example, but doing so causes the ranges of the one before and after to extend and thereby extending their audio adjustments of the clips over these much longer ranges. In other words it ruins the audio, I don't want to touch at all.
I think this is an oversight in the design because there doesn't appear to any way to select just part of the range between the two ranges already defined.
Put another way, if you create two ranges that don't touch, you can then only create one more range in between those two. You couldn't say create 10 ranges between the first and second ranges you created.
I'm thinking that clicking with some sort of modifier key would be the natural UI solution. For example if you click between two ranges, it selects the distance as it does today. If you command-click between two ranges, it could perhaps select create a new range between them with a duration of 3s (or some default).
Another approach to fixing this would be to command-click-move the left/right edge of the range in the middle and by doing so you it would leave the first range alone and shrink the middle range. In essence creating 4 ranges.
For reference, I'm using iMovie '11, with all updates released as of 3/20/2011 on a DualCore iMac from a few years ago. It is running the latest OS with all updates as of 3/20/2011. I'm using a Magic Mouse, just in case anyone is worried I have some strange mouse attached.

  • How Can I select an Audio Hardware with AudioQueue ?

    Hello,
Apple is providing this Demo Code...
    http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/AudioQueueTest/AudioQueueTest.dmg
but how can I select the Audio Hardware? I want to write an application that should output to 4 different USB Audio Cards. Is that possible?
I am searching for hours now
    Thanks,
    Klaus

I confirm your issue as I just tried an audio CD in my XP laptop. "All Files" showed only the 44 byte .cda files and no others. QuickTime couldn't open them (error -2048).
I also tried "Open File" with version 7 Pro and it couldn't open.
Odd that I get the option to open using iTunes and it opens and plays just fine. Since iTunes uses the QuickTime engine I would have thought QuickTime could read the files directly.
The same audio CD inserted in my Mac allowed me to double click any track and it opened directly in QuickTime Player. The files show as .aiff files measured in MB's.
Windows users could open an audio CD in iTunes and then convert to .aiff (no compression) and then open the .aiff in QuickTime.
I guess I should have tried myself before getting your hopes up. I apologize.

  • Urgent help!! In 'export audio to movie' the final option to disable the original audio has disappeared. I am no longer allowed to deselect the audio tracks. Any ideas why Logic has stopped this?

    Greeting all
I'm creating a movie with a new music track and follow the appropriate steps as in the manual:
Choose format options for the bounced audio file, and click OK.
In the dialog that appears, enter a name and target folder for the movie, and click Save.Another dialog opens, allowing you to choose which of the original movie’s audio tracks should be used in the new movie.
Select the audio track that you want to retain in the new movie, and click OK.
The QuickTime movie is exported to the selected folder; it contains all selected audio tracks, plus the part of your project that is encompassed by the start and end points of the QuickTime movie.
However, this final dialog option 'select the audio tracks of movie to keep in new movie' has disappeared!!! For some reason Logic goes straight to bouncing without the offer to remove the original audio. My final movie ends up with both sets of audios. Any ideas please???
    Best
    Juan

It is still there and Logic did not remove it.
Did you do some trouble shooting.
Try to load a different video (with different codec) to see if it is video file related
Try a new (empty) project to see if it is project related
Try to remove Logic preferences (move the original back if this wasn't the problem because the file contains other info you might not want to lose)
    Hope that helps

  • Syncing Audio and Video but wish for the Audio not to move on timeline?

Has anyone worked out how to sync audio and video within Premiere Pro but have the Audio stay fixed on the timeline and the video move? Every way I try it Premiere Pro insists on moving the audio. Locking the track does not work as you cannot select the audio within it to Sync with.
I have a music video shoot with 14 camera angles used on the lead singer (don't ask me why). Multi-camera editing is not an option as there are too many sources for my brand new MacbookPro to handle. I think I would need the computer from Superman II to edit that many clips together.
What I am doing is syncing the first clip, the one Im going to use as the baseline fall back shot and then I need to sync other clips onto the timeline. However Premiere Pro insists on moving the audio to fit with the video not visa-versa.
    Any help would be appreciated.

@slitchfield: on the mentioned page, it is stated that "Improvements in screen real estate, with slimmer top status bar and optional (in some apps) bottom toolbar, meaning that all phones will have a larger useful display area."
But on the E6 the bottom toolbar decreases available screen size in most apps, most noticeable in Web browser where the full view has gone. The bottom toolbar is not optional, you can't configure it yourself.
And: "Homescreen widgets will now come in up to five different sizes (1x1, 2x1, 4x1, 2x2, 4x4) and allow a greater degree of interactivity.", but on the E6 they are in only one size, always with large borders and other visual effects.
So beware of differences between phones, perhaps some aspects of Belle work differently depending on the type of device.
"Notes now brings up a white (and AMOLED-unfriendly...) editing screen.": that you can change by switching themes, "Dark Solid for Anna" does a good job. It is a shame that the lines of Notes have gone though.
When switching themes, I found you have to restart the phone, otherwise the theme doesn't get properly loaded in all apps. Stopping/starting apps is not enough. So when experimenting and loading one theme after another, you may end up with disfunctional combinations of black-on-black and white-on-white, but it may not be due to the last theme. Also you may end up with a good combination that isn't around anymore the next time you restart your phone.

I am using a widget on a Captivate 6 slide and the audio will not play.  What can I do to correct it?

I had a similar problem and i was given a great workaround by lilybiri a member on here.
On the attributes for the slide assign "On enter" a "Play Audio" Function. You can then select the audio file from your library.
I also had problems adding audio within a widget, but for me it seems to work if the audio is .mp3 format. .Wav would not play
