Selection Criteria in Batch Determination
Hi All,
Can you please guide me on how to make selection criteria for batch determination in production orders? The scenario is that I am creating a production order for plant A and Plant B. When I create for plant A, the batch determination in the component overview screen does not take into consideration any selection criteria, hence no batches are shown. However, when I do the same for Plant B, it works perfectly fine.
I wanted to know all plant specific settings for Batch Management.
Thanks
Hi Javed,
Check CORW . I guess urs problem will be solved

Reg. Invalid batch according to selection criteria in batch determination
Dear Experts
I have configured newly batch management in our IDES ECC 6 system in which while posting the GRN I am getting the following error:
Invalid batch according to selection criteria in batch determination
Batch WHITE has already been posted in stock
For batch WHITE of material YARN40SCMBD 1001, no class could be deter
Deficit of PU Ordered quantity 5 KG : YARN40SCMBD 1001 YN01 WHITE
and also the system response is
For batch WHITE of material YARN40SCMBD 1001, no class could be determined
Message no. M7207
Diagnosis
The system has been configured so that batches have to be classified for the current movement type. Since neither the material nor any batch of this material has been classified, batch &V1 cannot be classified for the current movement type.
System Response
Depending on how the system is configured, either a warning or an error message is issued.
If the message issued is a warning (W), the system allows you to enter batch WHITE without classification. The warning is, however, issued to prevent you from making a wrong entry.
If the message issued is an error message (E), you cannot post batch WHITE.
Procedure
You either have to classify material YARN40SCMBD in the material master or manually create batch WHITE in the batch master and classify the batch there.
As soon as a class has been assigned to the material or a batch of this material, you can classify other batches of this material upon goods movements.
Pls help me. how to solve this problem.
Thanks
Rajakumar.KHi,
Follow the steps:
1.Field---VFDAT and table-MCHA should be created as a charecter in CT04 and assigned to a class in CL02N.
2.create MM01 and add the class to it in classification view.
3.In mm01 plt storage1 view give data for remainning shelf life and total shelf life and in purchasing view activate batch management.
4.OMJ5- activate SLED for your plant and mvt type 201.
5.opj2- set BD for your plant.
6.create sort sequence in cu70 and assign your charecteristic value to it.
7.create batch serch strategy in MBC1 for access sequence(plt/matrl/mvt typ) create a condition record.
8.Do a GR using 501 and enter SLED related details.(production date and exp date values)
Repeat the above step and enter diffrent values for SLED details.
So now two batches are created with SLED as the charecteristic.
9.Do a GI using 201 mvt tye in MB1A and enter * in batch field(system will determine the batch using the SLED value basedon the criteria(ascending or descending which was set in the sort rule.)

Invalid batch according to the selection criteria in batch determination
Good day to all!
I am trying to Post Goods Issue in my Delivery but I cannot proceed because of the Batch. When I am trying to use a Batch in the Picking tab of Delivery Create Overview, this message appears: Invalid batch <BATCH NAME>according to the selection criteria in batch determination. Do you have any idea how to resolve this? Thanks!you work with batches,
and your system is customized to check if a manually entered batch fulfills the criteria of your batch determination.
This is not the case, hence you get the error message.
So you have to decide whether your batch determinatiion selection criteria wrong, or if the customizing to check this criteria is unwanted, or if you better do not send this chosen batch to your customer as it may result in a return. -
Invalid batch according to selection criteria in batch determination
Hi all,
When I am trying to post a goods issue for a material the above message is displayed.
And when I am trying to post the same material with mb1c-561 the system shows No batch numbers could be determined.
What can be done over this?
Also when I am trying to remove batch management indicator from sales/general plant view it shows it is already in some sales documents.
Pls advise
Regards,
Sam.Dear,
Message no. LB026 ??
MB1C 561 is mainly used at time of Go-live when we have to upload initial stock in SAP There is no use the the automatic batch determination for 561 movement.
In MB1c with 561 movement first time its going to create a new batch check the setting of OMCZ.
Once you activited the batch managment it is very diffuculte to remove better to create new material code.

BADI Impl. VB_BD_SELECTION to change selection criteria in batch det.
Hye,
I need to use the BADI VB_BD_SELECTION in order to change the selection criteria to be used during batch determination
For this purpose method RESTRICT_CONF_CHARS has been implemented.
But I didn't find any documentation explaining how to manage this one:
as result the characteristic record is deleted from the selection criteria instead of updating it with a new value specified in the structure CT_CONFIG-ATWRT.
For example:
in the strategy we have the value car1 = A.
If BADI is off than the system in production order uses right this criteria to determine the batches.
If BADI is on than we want to define new criteria to find batches with the characteristic car1 = B but the system deletes car1 from selection criteria.
Thanks
AnnaHi Anna,
I have the same problem for another customer project.
The big problem is I didn't found any documentation or an class example for that BAdI.
Please help us.

SLED for selection criteria for batch search
good day gurus,
Is it possible to use SLED (LOBM_VFDAT) as a selection criteria for my batch search? how do i set this up?
Thanks in advance

maintained class in t-code CL01 for you characteristics then sort sequence CU70 as per shelf life, setting expiration date check by OMJE for your plamt and movment type,
maintained strategy type in spro in production
Define Batch search procedure and assign your strategy there.
then allocate your search procedure to your plant in spro
and then maintained condition type in t -code COB1 for your plant.
also maintained your class in material master in classification view for batch class

No manual entry of batch, if batch determination fails to pick batch in DO
Dear Experts,
I have a scenario, where I want system to stop users to pick batch manually in Delivery order creation (VL01N), if batch determination procedure fails to auto-pick batch due to any reason.
By standard configuration, is there any-way to cater this requirement or we need user-exit only?
PLease suggest.
Regards,
PraveenHi Praveen
The standard SAP allows you to change manually determined batch. When the batch is selected manually, the automatic determination has failed because the batch characteristics are not proper as per the condition set in VCH1. When you manually select the batch in the delivery, then the system would throw up a message saying Invalid batch (batch number) according to selection criteria in batch determination (Message no. VL215). This is a warning message. Try changing this to an error message in the user exit.
Thanks

I had finished good with two sub-assys. one is MTO and other is MTS.
When i create production order for finished good, it determines the batch of Assy-2(MTO) but does not determine for Assy-1(MTS)
but if i change the batch number of Assy-1, by mb1b with mvt type 311 and then if determine the batch in FG for assy-1, then it displays the stock in new batch no.
i am not getting why is it happening so,
while it should determine the batch of stock material of assy-1.
it is perfectly working for the stock of raw materials
any suggestions????/

Hello,
I have configured Batch Determination Only for Inventory Management as follows:
-Created Characteristic for SLED
-Class
-Sort Sequence
And assigned them in "Startegy type"
-Strategy Type was created (from copying Standard)
and assigned to "Search Procedure"
This search procedure is assignd to Movement type
Defination of Initial Batch creation for Movement Type is also maintained as - Automatic/manual without Chk.
Batch Classification for Goods movement is activated for MvT- 101 & 561
with indicator 3.
Classification is also maintained in Material Master
Still getting WARNING message while doing Goods Reciept using MvT-561
as follows:
{ Invalid batch according to selection criteria in batch determination
Message no. LB051
Diagnosis:
This batch is not allowed according to the selection criteria assigned to it. The specifications for the batch entered do not match the selection criteria from batch determination.
Procedure:
Check selection criteria for the Transaction}
I just want to determine batches on their SLED
So that when i will issue this batch tht time i can find batch according to shortest SLED.
Can anybody help me????
Thanks
KantHi,
Configuration Steps
- Define Inventory management Condition - T.code is OMA1 (Optional)
- Define Acess Sequence (SPRO --> Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check ---> Access Sequences --> Define Inventory Management Access Sequences (Optional)
- Define Strategy Type :- Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check --->Strategy Types ---> Define Inventory Management Strategy Types
- Define Batch Search Procedure :- Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check ->Batch Search Procedure Definition--> Define Inventory Management Search Procedure
- Batch Search Procedure Allocation and Check Activation - T.code OMCG
Now in this T. code if you activate check box for Check Batch then system will throw an
error or warning massage in case of wrong Batch Assignment during Manual Batch allocation.
And I think you are finding the same error (LB051) Correct?
Prerequisites at Master Level
- Material Should be batch managed.
- Batch Class with Characteristic LOBM_VFDAT should be maintained in Material Master
- Create Sort Rule with T.code CU70 (FEFO - First expire First Out)and assign Characteristic LOBM_VFDAT with Ascending rule.
- Create Batch Search Strategy using T.code MBC1 and assign above created Sort rule and batch Class to it.
and if you want to allow more than batches in case of Sort qty then assign no. Batch Spli(Max. allow batch Split is 999)
- Most Important Shelf Life Data should be maintain in all the concern Batches.

Warning message during batch determination while doing GR for process order
Hi Experts,
During delivery against process order for all SFGs and FGs, we are getting warning message u201CInvalid batch according to selection criteria in batch determinationu201D.
Following settings maintained for batch determination in process order.
Condition table for order/material type maintained
Access sequence maintained for order/material type
In strategy type above access sequence has been maintained. The common class and sort sequence created for all materials in the plant have also been assigned to this strategy type. In batch split changes allowed box has been checked and quantity proposal maintained as 1.
In search procedure control maintained for order/material type. Search procedure has been assigned to all process order types and check activated.
In spite of the above when GR for order is taking place , system is throwing warning message.
GI of components is being done through backflush and without any warning message.
Please advise how to ensure proper batch determination during GR against order.
Regards
Sm.Issue resolved by removing required indicators from characteristics which were not being valuated but were maintained in the class assigned to SFGs/FGs.

Ability to include Batch determination within Availability Check
Hi All,
My client has a requirement where the availability check must be driven based on the batches selected from the batch determination. This works fine when the line item is initially entered. However if the item gets backordered, there is no way to carry out batch determination again.
Has someone encountered this or a similar scenario. For clarity, here are the steps :
1. Sales order creation
- Enter line item
- Batch determination executed
- Availability Check carried out based on batch found
- Schedule line gets created with quantity determined.
2. Backorder processing
- Order is accessed
- Schedule line is accessed
- Availability Check carried out ( no batch determination executed ).
- Schedule line gets updated with the quantity determined.
If anyone has ideas or has worked on getting the batch determination triggered within the availability check or backorder processing, it would be great if you can share your experience here.My requirement is as follows:
At the time of sales order creation system should check the availability check against the batch which is derived by the automatic batch determination.
Can you please tell me how to configure this senario (availability check on batch level)

Batch Determination with SLED Selection Using LOBM_RLZ
Hi All,
I am trying to determine Batches at the time of Goods Issue against Production Order (i.e. Movement Type 261).
These are the steps I have used.
1. Created a Batch Class with Standard Characteristics LOBM_RLZ, LOBM_VFDAT, LOBM_LFDAT.
2. Assigned this class to the Material Master of the Component and marked the material relevant for Batch and SLED.
3. At the time of GR for the component, the Batch is generated with the Expiration Date.
3. Created the Batch Determination Rule using Condition Table ME01 for movement type 261, plant and component.
The Search Criteria is to select a Batch with LOBM_RLZ >=1 day.
4. Now at the time of Batch Determination in CO27 (Picking TCode) the determination is failing. I can check in MB5M there are two batches of the Component available in stock with Remaining Number of shelf life as 2 days and 370 days.
Can anyone suggest what might be missing? Are you using a separate batch selection class versus the batch class?
There are characteristics that must be in the selection class, but cannot be in the batch class.
See OSS note 33396.
1. If you want to search for batches on the basis of a remaining shelf
life in batch determination, the system has to calculate a requested
shelf life expiration date dynamically from the information you
give.
2. Add characteristic LOBM_VFDAT to the batch classes.
For the revaluation of reference characteristics, refer to Note
78235.
Characteristics LOBM_RLZ and LOBM_LFDAT must not be included in the
batch classes!
3. Add characteristics LOBM_VFDAT, LOBM_LFDAT, and LOBM_RLZ to the
selection classes.
Maintain a remaining shelf life in the strategy records for batch
determination. Relational operators (> , < , <= , >=) are considered
in the dynamic calculation of the shelf life expiration date in
batch determination.
From your note you have placed LOBM_RLZ and LOBM_LFDAT in your batch class. You cannot do that.
