Selection indicators.

Usually, selection indicators are visible at the bottom command bar of QuickTime display.
Why are they invisible in some .mov files
I've transcoded a VST files(from a tv program I've recorded with my DVD recorder) in MPEG with VisulaHub. Once opened with QT, the selection indicators are no more visible that makes impossible to edit this .mov file.
Usually they are visible.
Is there a solution to make this indicators visible?

QT does not consider multiplexed formats (e.g., MPEG-1, MPEG-2, VOB, etc.) to be edit compatible formats and so QT Pro no longer displays the "selection" tool for these formats.
Usually they are visible.
Only for "edit" compatible compression formats using the current QT version.
Is there a solution to make this indicators visible?
No. You're best bet would be to use MPEG Streamclip (free) here. It is a third-party, MPEG-based application specifically designed for such content. Unfortunately, if you plan to convert you MPEG content to other compression formats, you will also need the QT MPEG-2 Playback component ($20) which I assume you already have if you are opening MPEG files in the QT Player. (Of course visual Hub could convert directly to other compression formats which will edit in QT Pro.)

I want to edit a piece out of a Quicktime movie (mpeg2). There appear to be no 'selection indicators' on the player. I can't find any place in preferences to activate the selection indicators, nor does or (o) work to set the in and out.
Any suggestions?

I use Streamclip regularly. And did a quick perusal when I couldn't get Quicktime to do the job. But I couldn't figure out how to 'edit' with Streamclip. I don't have a manual for the beast. Where might I find out some quick instructions for editing with that app.?

Revealing "In" and "Out" selection indicators in Quicktime 7 after Snow Leopard Upgrade

When I upgraded to snow leopard, I used quicktime 10 for a while. But recently I wanted to edit a long movie, and trimming sections out of the middle was unworkable.
I found the Quicktime 7 program in my Utilities folder (I guess it was put there during the upgrade process). I reinstalled my Quicktime Pro registration.
But when I opened the movie, I couldn't find the "In" and "Out" markers to select the sections I wanted to cut. Trolling the web for answers didn't help. Typing "I" and "O" didn't help.
Finally I looked through the Preferences Pane for the third time. The item "Hide selection indicators for empty selection" was NOT selected. Yet the selection indicators remained hidden.
So I selected that choice, to hide them. Closed the program. Opened it again (they remained hidden). Then I UN-selected it and voila! The selection indicators appeared, and have remained present ever since.

After installing SL, i cannot get wellsfargo "account login" to work for any account of mine, other financial secure sites work fine, i.e. fidelity or vanguard, I can access the main screen of wellsfargo but login fails ... screen i get says Safari can't connect to the server and as follows: "Safari can’t open the page “https://online.wellsfargo.com/das/cgi-bin/session.cgi?" plus some more gibberish stuff.... i tried switching to firefox and it works fine .... never had any trouble before ..... tried safari reset, safari empty cache, and maintenace that applied ...... still no luck!! hope they get this bug fixed , my other computer an older mac mini works fine. any help????? never had any problem before SL

Selection Indicators in Browsers Ruin the Look of Spry Accordions

I've created some simple navigation on the left hand side of http://www.buelowvetter.com/team.html, using a Spry accordion in Dreamweaver. The top buttons are in the accordion, and the bottom ones are not, because they contain no sub-navigation. Safari and IE both put a "fence" around the whole accordion when you select a button. This ruins the look of the navigation I designed.
I suspect this is just what you have to live with, but is there any way to get rid of this browser indicator?

Okay. In trying to clean up site validation errors, I stumbled onto the answer to my own question. The culprit is the "tab order = 0" found in the Spry's code. Removing that gained not only validation of the page, but removed the unwanted selection indicator from around the accordion.

Layer bounding boxes and selection indicators

Any way to toggle bounding box mouse-over feature on/off?

Thanks for the response, I tried that dialogbox, but the bounding box option does not appear there. There is of course the option to turn off ALL the layer controls but this new bounding box feature seems to be ever present. It just irks me to have things flash up on the screen as I work on it, distracting me from the composition itself. And frankly never had an issue of distinguishing my layers in the past. Photoshop and Illustrator have similar "auto guide" features, but they both have the OFF option.
On another note, has anybody been bothered by the inconsistent behavior of the "Shift" flowchart shortcut? The idea is to press shift and the left arrow to move back out Ovenesta composition, but in practice pressing shift does not always bring up the flowchart immediately, you often have to press shift twice or navigate to your comp window-- defeating the purpose of a consistent useful shortcut.

Edit Selection Indicator For Template Buttons

I have been searching for an answer to my question but have not been able to find an answer. Perhaps because I'm not searching for the proper terminology.
I applied the Apple template "Wedding Classical Index" to a menu, and am now trying to customize it in order to create a template for automated chapter index creation. I have been able to reposition everything so far except for the indicators that show which button is selected. I repositioned the button text... but now these indicators are not in the correct location. Is there a way to move them... or is there a way to turn them off and export the menu to photoshop and create my own overlay in photoshop for button selection indicators?

I think you could take a screenshot of the menu, then use that in Photoshop (after resizing to 720x480 if needed) and create an overlay, then select your new overlay in DVDSP. It might require some tweaking. You also may then have to create a new template.

Having trouble selecting part of a movie

hi,
have just upgraded to qt pro.
am trying to select part of an existing movie (a .mpg in this case),
in order do some editing.
i can't get the selection in and out indicators to show up in the
player window in order to do the selection.
i followed help instructions re unchecking the 'hide selection
indicators for empty selection.'
but doesn't help.
can anyone give us any help please...

QT Pro is working normally here. Multiplexed compression formats like MPG (MPEG-1) are "playback only" supported by the QT structure. They cannot be edited or converted (and retain audio). If you wish to select a portion of such files, use the free MPEG Streamclip application. Selected content can then either be saved using the "Save As..." option or converted to a fully supported compression format (and retain audio).

The cause of my confusion is as follows:
On one of my G5's I had long ago selected the QT preference: HIDE SELECTION INDICATORS FOR EMPTY SELECTION. And, for some reason, this also eliminates the dotted line in the playbar even when the indicators are visible or there is a selected section of the movie. But on my other G5 I had not selected this preference... so that QT-7 was displaying the playbar differently. D'OH!
It had always bugged me that I couldn't see the location of the selection indicators unless the cursor was located over the playbar area... so I had unchecked this preference and this caused the dotted line to vanish.

A subsequent debit/credit exists when an additional invoice or credit memo is received for a transaction that has already been invoiced.
Use
When you post an invoice or a credit memo as a subsequent debit/credit, you should note the following:
The system records every subsequent debit/credit in the purchase order history.
By posting a subsequent debit/credit, the system updates the ordering transaction on a value basis but not on a quantity basis. The quantity invoiced therefore does not change, but the total value invoiced does.
The maximum quantity you can subsequently debit or credit is the quantity that has already been invoiced. It is not possible to post a subsequent debit before an invoice. The system does not check the quantity delivered. A subsequent debit/credit cannot be blocked due to quantity variance.
If you are entering invoices or credit memos containing both standard items and subsequent debits/credits, you have the following options:
If the invoice consists mainly of subsequent debit/credit items, you choose the transaction Subsequent debit and deselect the field Subsequent debit/credit for the items that are not subsequent debits.

Account Movements When Subsequent Debits/Credits Are Posted
The account postings for a subsequent debit/credit depend on the quantity that the subsequent debit/credit applies to:
If the quantity of the subsequent debit/credit is smaller than or the same as the quantity delivered, the system tries to post the subsequent debit/credit to the stock account. If the material is valuated with a standard price or if there is insufficient stock coverage for the quantity to be debited or credited, the amount is posted to a price difference account.
If the quantity of the subsequent debit/credit is larger than the quantity delivered, the system distributes the relevant amount proportionally. The part of the subsequent debit/credit that does not have a goods receipt is posted to the GR/IR clearing account. The remaining amount is posted to the stock account or in the case of standard price control or insufficient stock coverage to a price difference account.

What does the fine dotted pattern in the QuickTime Player playbar indicate? Some movies display this, but some don't.

GObject : Replace Method

Hello. I am working with labview scripting in order to create a script that will replace all selected indicators with an indicator from a ctl file. However, I can't seem to figure out the GObject method "Replace". Attached is my current script. I was wondering if anyone could let me know what I am doing wrong or if what I am trying to do is even possible. Thanks.

A few tips.
It looks like you are using the selection on the BD, therefore the objects you find will be ControlTerminals. You need to get the corresponding Control property and call its replace method.
To handle this, and allow for other random objects in your selection I would use To More Specific Class to cast each object to a ControlTerminal. If there is no error, then get the Control Property and call the replace method. If there is an error, simply do nothing. This way if there is a wire or two in the selection you are ok.
It also appears that you are using this from the Tools Menu, which is cool. You can add a check of the VI.FPIsFrontmost property to detect if you are calling from the FP or BD. If it is the FP, you can simply cast everything in the SelList[] to a Control and for the successful ones call the Replace method.

How to include CRMT_BW_SRV_PROC_H_SPEC include in datasource

Good morning everybody
We are integrating BI with CRM for reporting. One of the datasources we
are using is 0CRM_SRV_REQ_INCI_H. This uses transfer structure
CRMT_BW_SRV_REQ_INCIDENT_H. Within this is include
CRMT_BW_SRV_PROC_H_SPEC. This contains field BWSTONESVTK which we need
to include in the datasource.
However, from BWA1 we can do the mapping for this field but then we get
an error message "Dif. selection indicators in ROOSFIELD (P) and
SMOXRELP". We cannot find any documentation which clearly explains how
to include the standard field BWSTONESVTK in our datasource.
Any ideas anyone?

Importing Image Sequences into FCP

Hi, My animator sent some instructions for trying to import an Image Sequence into FCP. It said to change the Still Freeze Frame Duration to 1 frame per second, then import the folder and drag the folder to V2 or higher. I've done this and got the error message 'insufficient content for edit' and got it again when I dragged the first file from the folder onto the V2 in the timeline.
Any suggestions as to why the error message is coming up. Does the Still Freeze Frame duration have to be changed?

Ok, now I'm curious because I've done a bit of animation files in FCP before.
What kind of files are they? .tga?
Can you drag just one into the Browser from the Finder, then drag that into the timeline? What happens?
How are you putting the images into the timeline? Dragging the folder? Have you tried a new sequence to test it?
I've had issues with FCP not recognizing them before because they were in some weirdo quasi-.tga format before but I haven't seen that error associated with this before.
Oh, do you have your tracks targeting buttons set correctly as well as the toggle auto-select indicators?

Cells inset & tabs

Is anyone else having trouble with type in cells running too close to the column lines when left or right alignment is chosen? I don't see a format or option for specifying a space/inset from cell margin. I thought that I could set or change a tab, but tabs don't work per the Help feature. Clicking on ruler just sets off a "ding!" error sound. I can't ever set a tab!

While I haven't notice this problem (perhaps its the font you are using or something about your boarder thickness), you can adjust aspects of the margins in cells. Use the inspector's "Text Inspector" panel. Try the various sliders there. Perhaps adjusting "Inset Margin" is what you need. Note that the effects apply to the selection. If a single cell is selected, only that cell's properties will be effected. If an entire table is selected, denoted by the square selection indicators on the perimeter of the table, then all the cells will be effected.

Why am I unable to select the boolean indicators on my front panel?

Hello all,
This has to be an easy one for you guys, but here goes...
I created a front panel with approximately 20 boolean indicators on it (LEDs). I realized that I only had 10 functional, so I made the others 'greyed out and disabled'. Well, now the ones I disabled are functional again, so I want to enable them. Problem is, when I go to the diagram and select 'show indicator' it is still grayed out. I cannot click on the indicator on the front panel to 'enable' the indicators. I cannot select them at all.
I've tried creating property nodes and enabling them that way. They are no longer grayed out when I do this, but I still cannot click on them to move them about the front panel.
All
I want to do is select them so I can rearrange the way they look on the panel, but I cannot click on them.
And, yes, I've had my tool palete on both 'Automatic Tool Selection' and 'Position/Size/Select'. It is also interesting that I can select and move the indicators which I never disabled in the first place.
Any help would be great!

What happens if you go to the diagram and double click on the control? It
should take you to the front panel and highlight/select the control.
