Selection of a field in data source

Hi,
I have to select the check box for a field in the Selection column of a data source. But the field is in non editable mode.
Can any body please let me know how to make the field editable.

Thanks for your quick response. But here I am doing exactly how you said, by going into RSA6 and changing the data source. But the other fileds are in editable mode and only the filed which I want to select is in non-editable mode. May be any other reason for this?

Hi Hari,
If you choose Select fields, you'll be able to filter this IO in Selection tab of infopackage (set IO's value(s) to be loaded).
In case of hide field you'll not have it in the transfer structure at all.

Select the language field in the source system ?

Hi,
when I schedule the load for 0cust_sales_text there popups the message 'Select the language field in the source system -> Long text'.
Long text says: 'Either no language field is selected as a selection field in the source system KC1CL005 in DataSource 0CUST_SALES_TEXT, or the language field is not assigned to InfoObject 0LANGU in BW.'
In the DataSource there is not an object for language? I don't know what to do.

the psa tells me, which records are marked as error, but i don't understand it.

Can't add field in data source 0CRM_OPPT_I

Hi,
I have earlier added several fields to this data source but this time I have a peculiar issue, This is what I did
1> RSA6--> DISPLAY THE DATA SOURCE double click on the extract structure> go to append structure --> add new field ZZ... and activated the append structure
2> confirm that the new field is available in the extract structure CRMT_BW_OPPT_I .
3> GO TO RSA6 --> change data source 0CRM_OPPT_I, the new field should be available for me to unhide.. Here is my problem the field is not at all available. And therefpore the field is not included in the data source..
What can I do to resolve this..

i think normally you can select the Enhance extract structure option directly from RSA6 transaction . You dont need to go to display and->then select the extract structure-> then append
coming you your append structure .is it active ?

Adding new field to data source -can not see them

Experts,
I have added 4 fields to the data source 0FI_AA_11 .
I can able to see these fields in the append structure or in RSA2,but i can not able to see in RSA6.I reactivated append structure ,still i can not see these fields in RSA6.
Please advice me how can i see them in RSA6.

What is the way to find out in <b>SAP r/3</b>, A field is used is what Datasource. Say for example "SPBUP" (Fisc Period)....How to find out what all Data sources have this field?

Hi Ashwin,
You can look up SE16 > ROOSFIELD. Put SPBUP in the FieldName field and F8.

Unable to view enhanced field in Data Source

Hi All,
We recently upgraded our R/3 system from 4.7 to ECC 6.0. Now when we are enhancing the data source, the field is visible in the Extract Structure. But we are unable to view it in the data source. We checked out in RSA2 the enhanced field attribute is specified as 'Field in OLTP and BW Hidden by SAP'. We have written code to modifiy the ROOSFIELD table to make the enahnced field visible. But this is the problem with all the data sources. Whenever, we have to enahnce, we have to go thru this process to make the enhanced field visible.
Is it like that we missied out any patch in ECC 6.0 while upgrade? If any person faced similar situation, please help us.

Hi Ravi,
I think you are missing a step here. As soon as you enhance your datasource with new fields, by default, those 2 check boxes are checked ( Hidden and Field in User exit only). You go to RSA6, edit your datasource and here, you can uncheck these added fields so that you can use them. You do not need to write any code to change the fields settings in ROOSFIELD table. Do the step I mentioned above after enhancing and you should be good. Hope it helps.

Addition of new field in Data Source.

Dear Experts,
I want to add new field in full upload data source based on Table view. After adding field in table & i have modifited data sorce in R/3 220 client. It is showing that field but in r/3 200 client it not showing that field , when i using t. code rsa3 for data extracting.
Please suggest me , while editing data source it creating request , that also reflected in 200 client .

How to make enhanced fields of data source delta enabled?

Hi ,
I have a scenario, in which we are using the DS 0CUSTOMER_ATTR to load the master data.There are some fields added to this data source but this fields are not delta enabled. I have tested these fields from R/3 side using BDCP, CDPOS tables. All the fields are writing the changes correctly. But when extracting them using delta they are not capturing.If we load the full,it is capturing all the changes.
So running full load every week is taking more time.
Can any one suggest how to make this fileds delta enabled to capture the change in BW side as well to extract only changed records?
Any help will be greatly appriciated !

HI,
It is not possible to load delta this data. Your datasource only detects changes in the customer table and when any customer has been modified the record is loaded to BW. In this moment the datasource fill the append extructure.
The problem is that if you modifies some record from the append extructure the datasources doesn't detects the changes. When you does a full load you are filling the append extructure for the entire records and it works.
If you want to catch this deltas you should make a delta datasource for CDPOS but depending on the number of records of the tables it won't be possible.
You could check if there is any event to detects the modification and create a delta queue datasource for the append extructure.
Then, you can mix both datasources in a DSO in BW.
You can look for a " how to create generic datasources which use delta queue"

I have a field(VGBEL) in the data source 2LIS_11_VAITM, but i do not have data in it. I will have to populate data into it for that, I guess i need to write some ABAP code .My question is where should i write the code.
P.S If I have to write in the functional module or user exit how do i know the relavent functional module or user exit for the particular data source

there will not be different user exit for each datsource. check this thread for the steps, which are general for any datsource.

Delta field for Data Source 0BP_RELATIONS_ATTR

I need to know how to find which field is Delta enabled for standard Data Sources.
In my requrement for Data Source 0BP_RELATIONS_ATTR.
As the Data Source is being accessed by BODS sysetm and they need to know the Delta field to extract delta.

All Fields of data source doesn't appearing in source field of transf

Hi all Bi experts,
I am working on converting our OLD bw flow (3.x) into new BI7.0 flow.
when I am trying to crate transformation from the context menu of data source I am not getting all fiels which are available at data source level.At data source level I have 13 fields.but I am getting only 11 in transformation.
After analysing our Old flow (3.x) I found that the fields whicha re not appearing are the fields which are not mapped in transfer rules or made to constant

Hi Santosh
If there are fields which are present in datasource on BI side but they do not appear in transformation, then make sure that all the fields are checked as "Transfer" in the datasource maintenance.
By default all the fields are checked as "Transfer" but there are cases were at times the fields are not marked as checked for "Transfer". So u need to manually check them.

Change the field attribute of a field in data source - 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1

Hi ,
I have a data source named 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 in CRM system.
The fields PLANNED_TS_FROM and PLANNED_TS_TO are hidden fields i.e. the field attribute is 'A' - Field in OLTP and BW Hidden by SAP.
Following are my doubts:
1. Whether the values of these fields will be extracted into BW or it will not be?
2. How do I change the fields attribute value of these fields(its standard data source)?
3. Is there any SAP note to do this ?
4. If the above doesn't exisits, then should I go for a append structure to the standard data source?

Hi,
U can unhide ur fields in RSA6 and then replicate the datasource in BW. These fileds will come in BW.
You cant change the attribute value for STD DSO.
No SAP note for the same.
You can append the datasource with the new fields with the attribute you want and hide the std. fields then goto BW and replicate it. You can then map it with the BW fields as you want.

I am extracting data from CRM using a function module.I have created a structure in CRM which I am using for populating with RSAX_BI_GET_DATA* .Now in the structure there are some fields with currency data type.So when in RSO2 I am creating data source it's giving error Currency fields are hidden.So I am not able to create the DS only.Please somebody cxan help.It's urgent.Please suggest ways in detail what needs to be done .

Since you have the extract structure and the extractor, you can try Extractor Checker RSA3.Execute ST05 (activating SQL Trace), switch on the trace and execute the extractor checker. Once the extractor checker presents the results
switch off trace. The clcik on Display trace and you will see all the tables that were hit by the extractor checker to retrieve data and present it to you.
Note: Set the break point in the Extractor Function module.
View the ST05 Extended Trace list. The Object name shows the Tables accessed.
