Selection of load

I have to do a selective load of 125 documents to a cube. The documents have customers as a part of selection criteria.And this list of documents have the customer no.s in no particular order. Do I have to do 125 full uploads or is there some way of doing a selection to include the list of customer no.s in the load?

Hi Ashmith,
Even if the values are not in a particular order, you can do many individual selections in the InfoPackage. On the Data Selection tab, select the row for the InfoObject and then click on the green + button at the bottom. ANother row will be generated and you can fill in another value.

Hi Wijey,
1.If you are talking about selective data load, you need to write a ABAP Program in the infopackage for the field for which you want to select. Otherway is to write a start routine in the transformations and delete all the records which you do not want. In the second method, you get all the data but delete unwanted data so that you process only the required data. Performancewise, you need to observe. If the selection logic is complicated and taks a lot of time, the second option is better.You try both and decide yourself as to which is better.
2. Only the fields that are marked as available for selection in the DS are available as selection in the data package. That is how the system is.

Selective data load using DTP

Hi,
We have created a data flow from once cube to other cube using Transformations. Now we would like to do selective data load from source cube to target cube. The problem is that in DTP we are not able to give the selective weeks in the Filter area because we can give filter conditions in change mode only and in production system we canu2019t go to change mode for DTP. So we struck up there. Can any one of you tell me how to do selective data load in this scenario

As a try, createe a new DTP and try to get in to change mode.It might accept that way.
otherway round,you can go the way as manisha explained in previous post.
Do the load and do a selective deletion. you can do selective deletion using a program.

What does per Wlan Band select and load balancing do ?

Good morning.....We recently upgraded our controllers from 4.2.185 to 6.0.188 and have noticed many clients having connectivity issues. We have Aggressive load balancing turned off globally but have noticed that band select and load balancing are enabled on the
Wlan. Are these settings mutually exclusive or do they do the same thing ? Does the Wlan setting override the default ? We have noticed that there is
output doing "debug dot11 load-balancing"

I believe we never had load balancing turned on when running 5.2 code. We jumped from 5.2 to 6.x temporarily and then to 7.0 within a 30 day time frame this summer. We're a large university and we had very few users on WiFi during that time.
The Macintosh laptops are having nothing but trouble since school began, and I have gone over everything and found that band select is turned on as well as load balancing. Since band select didn't exist in 5.2 (I believe) I know it wasn't on. As for load balancing, I don't believe it was on, and I discovered it was turned on when recently reviewing our configs.
The Macintosh laptops have been debugged and our Mac gurus tell us they're getting a message that equates to "the AP is busy, or the AP is full". This leads me to believe that load balancing got turned on during the upgrade and we didn't notice, which caused the Macintoshes to have issues.
We don't have any VoWiFi clients so we don't have to support them, and we don't officially support smartphones, either.
I turned off load balancing and will see how it goes....

Can we use 0INFOPROV as a selection in Load from Data Stream

Hi,
We have implemented BW-SEM BPS and BCS (SEM-BW - 602 and BI 7 ) in our company.
We have two BPS cubes for Cost Center and Revenue Planning and we have Actuals Data staging cube, we use 0SEM_BCS_10 to load actuals.
We created a MultiProvider on BPS cubes and Staging cube as a Source Data Basis for BCS.
Issue:
When loading plan data or Actuals data into BCS (0BCS_C11) cube using Load from Data Stream method, we have performance issue, We automated load process in a Process Chain. Some times it take about 20 hrs for only Plan data load for 3 group currencies and then elimination tasks.
What I noticed is, (for example/) when loading Plan data, system is also reading Actuals Cube which is not required, there is no selection available in Mapping or selection tab where I can restrict data load from a particular cube.
I tried to add 0INFOPROV into databasis but then it doen't show up as selection option in the data collection tasks.
Is there a way where I can restrict data load into BCS using this load option and able to restrict on cube I will be reading data from ?
I know that there is a filter Badi available, but not sure how it works.

We do have other characteristics like Value Type (10 = Actual and 20 = Plan) and Version (100 = USD Actual and 200 = USD Plan), but when I am loading data into BCS using Load from Data Stream method, the request goes to all the underlying cubes, which in my case are Planning cubes and Actual Cube, but I don't want request to goto Actual Cube when I am running only Plan load. I think its causing some performance issue.
For this reason I am thinking if I can use 0INFOPROV as we use in Bex queries to filter the InfoProvider so that the data load performance will improve.
I was able to to bring in 0INFOPROV into DataBasis by adding 0INFOPROV in the characteristics folder used by the Data Basis.
I am able to see this InfoObject Data Stream Fileds tab. I checked marked it to use it in the selection and regenerated the databasis.
I was expecting that now this field would be available for selection in data collection method, but its not.
So If its confirmed that there is no way we can use 0INFOPROV as a selection then I would suggest my client for a redesign of the DataBasis it self.

Urgent 100 days selective deletion & loading

Hi All,
we have some issues regarding our architecture, now we are going to stabilize our project can any one through light how to solve these issues.
Changes done for Service ticket, 100 days after the Creation date is not reflected in BW
If service ticket is changed after 100days from created date, the updated values is not available in BW at Report level for that particular service ticket.
It will be applicable for following subject areas.
     1. Service Tickets ( 100 days )
     2. Complaints ( 100 days )
     3. Document flow analysis ( 45 days )
     4. SOM Analysis ( 100 days )
Reasons for 100 days selective loading
1. Volatile characteristics
We have characteristics that will change to multiple values and many times in CRM side. E.g. Status , Accessory & category etc..
Why no delta load to cube
If we do the delta load from ODS to cube we will get multiple records in cube level as characteristics have multiple values. ( which is the Out of the box functionality )
Business requirement is to see only latest change to transaction, and not to have the history of transaction.
Why do we do full load with deletion
To get only latest record in report we need to have full load of cube from ODS after deletion of cube. If we run full load from ODS to cube, the load will happen from active data table where we will be having one record per transaction which is latest one.
The old record in cube has to be deleted to avoid duplicate records in cube.
Why 100 days
If we do full load of all data from ODS to cube, it will take more time to load due to huge volume of records. Hence we load for a particular period ( ie life cycle time ).
The life cycle of service ticket normally will be with in 100 days. If its in INPORCESS it gets to CLOSED status in 10 days and then the auto close program will set the status to COMPLETED after 90 days.

This can be handled by a Design Change.
All you need to do is make a copies of the InfoCube that you are using currently and make them as
1. Cube 1 to hold Fiscal Year data for 2006.
2. Cube 2 to hold Fiscal Year data for 2007.
3. Cube 3 to hold Fiscal Year data for 2008.
(If you want to hold 3 years data and can change it as per your requirement)
Depending on your requirement you can also do this kind of physical partitioning for Calmonth or Calquarter also.
When you are loading data, you have to load only 2006 data to Cube 1 and 2007 data to Cube 2 and 2008 data to Cube 3 by controlling the load in the InfoPackage selections.
You can build a MultiProvider on top, if Business wants to report on the complete Data Set.
You can do this kind of Physical Partitioning of data like the above example and use it as the case may be.

In place of R/3 system you have to consider BW itself when you are reading the note.

Selecting and loading songs into an already full Nano (8G)

Hello: I had loaded months ago my Nano with all my songs in the Library as it was less than 8G. Now I want to connect my Nano and 'reload' (not sure the right term) songs I want on it (along with Playlists). My current Library has many more songs now (meaning, I just can't tranfer my whole Library to the Nano any more). So, do I need to delete all the songs on my Nano, then some how select only the songs I want loaded, and transfer? Do you select the songs you want transfered by marking the box to the left of each song or do you create a Playlist and dump it into the Nano. Sorry for this basic question. FYI -- I have iTunes 7.6.x. Thanks in advance.

The easiest way (in my opinion at least) to do this is to manually manage the songs on you iPod. To do this open itunes and connect the ipod. When it loads select the iPod (so you see the restore ipod and update ipod options). Towards the bottom of the screen check the box that says "manually manage music." To update the songs and play lists, just drag them to the icon for you ipod. To delete songs click the arrow next to the ipod to bring up the submenus. select the music menu then go through the ipod and delete what you don't want. This might be an extra step or two, but its sure to get you exactly what you want.

Selection for loading hierarchies into BW

Hi friends,
I have a hierarchy to be loaded into BW from R/3. I created an Infopackage and there is only one radiobutton for hierarchy. I refreshed the available hierarchy list but still, I get only one selection. I checked in RSA3 and there also, I have only one selection available. But, in R/3, I have many more hierarchies to be loaded. I have to get the remaining hierarchies in the available list. How can I get them into the available list? Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Only the top node of a hierarchy is displayed within an infopackage.
Is it possible that your several hierarchies are actually lower level nodes of a higher-level hierarchy? For example, it is possible to have several cost element groups (hierarchies), which rollup to higher level nodes. It is only the top nodes which are available for extracting into BW.
Using the cost element example (sorry, but I'm not well-versed in Funds Mgt), in R/3, access t-code KAH3 to display cost element groups. After clicking the drop-down arrow, the system presents a dialog window which includes options of displaying "All nodes" and "Top nodes". Within a hierarchy infopackage for 0COSTELMNT, you should see one hierarchy available for each top node displayed in R/3.

Selective hierarchy load

My customer wants to restrict the F4 help on the ORG UNIT hierarchy to a certain node and the nodes below. As far as I know, the only way to do that is to use another hierarchy.
Is ist possible to restrict the nodes to be loaded from R?3?

I believe the BW hierarchy infopackages are developed to display only the "top nodes" of hierarchies.
Using the example below, only the TOP NODE will appear as a selection within the hierarchy infopackge. User will not be able to select "Level 2" or "Level 3". However, node data for levels 2 & 3 will be included as part of the extraction.

If you have a need to extract only node data for lower nodes, you may consider remodeling the hierarchy in R/3 where Level 2 of the current hierarchy becomes the top node of a new hierarchy.

Spliting deliverables according to multiple selection and load it

There are some couple of Deliveries and I need to split them into multiple selections .Then I need to load them based on selections to ods and cube .
Please tell the steps to do this in BI7 Verison.

you can create two transformation groups to splitt data. maintain rules for both groups
or
start routine can be used to split the data
loop at source_package into <source_package>.
If <check if this record should be splitted>
wa_newdata = <source_package>.
Modily your new line accoridingly..
append wa_new_data to it_new_data .
endif.
clear wa_new_data
endloop.
append lines of wa_new_data to source_package.

Selective data load to InfoCube

Dear All,
I am facing the following problem :
I have created staging DSOs for billing item (D1) and Order item (D2). Also i have created one InfoCube (C1) which requires combined data of order and billing and so we have direct transformation with billing DSO (D1-->C1) and in transformation routines we had look up from Order item (D2) DSO.
Now all the deltas are running fine. But in today's delta particular Order has not retrieved, say 123, but corresponding Billing document, say 456, has been retrieved through delta.
So now while DTP ran for C1 cube it has not loaded that particular billing doc (456) and corresponding Order details(123).
I thought of loading this particular data by creating new Full DTP to Cube C1. Is this approach ok?
Please help on the same.

Hi,
Yes you can do a full load. Just make sure the selection condition in your DTP is EXACTLY THE SAME as selective delete on C1.
I'd suggest put a consolidation DSO D3 in the position of C1. And you can always use delta update C1 from D3. In my company there are similar cases and we love the consolidation DSO.

Selectively deleting load from ODS using Process Chain

Hi All,
I have a requirement in which I have to delete the last load of the current month if any and leave the load of the last month untouched which has to be done using process chain.
I will try to elaborate the condition required like say we have a data for June in the ODS already (date 10) and when the load for July will come it will not touch the June data but on 2 July the load of first July will be deleted without touching the load from June 10. (The PC will run for the first 10 days of the month).
How can this be implemented, There seems to be some FM for this but are there any other method by which the same can be implemented without much use of ABAP.

I tried to generate the program but that can be used for selective deletion from the ODS i think soo.
But my requirement is basically to delete the complete request from the ODS and not any selective deletion and at the same time I cannot use the complete deletion option as that will delete the request from the last month also.
Are there any optioin at the level of Info package which can be used for these type of deletion.

No audio selection after loading Driver for M-Audio MobilePre USB

I recently downloaded the latest Driver for my M-Audio MobilePre USB on my Mac Pro and the audio input out put selection in the system preferences are not showing up. However it does show it listed in "Other" in system preverences, but only the volume control.
How do I get it the input and output selection to work?

I tried calling them but they said you need to have a service number, when you registered, which I got mine about 9 or so years ago and dont remember any numbers!
You need to purchase a number to talk to service, its a bunch of c#@@p.

Dyanmic selection data load in DTP

I need to load data one after one in terms of Cal week from 2000 to 2012 thrugh DTP.
I can write a routine in DTP for the field Cal week
But can any one help me to guide how to load this DTP multiple times through Process chain?

i think, he want to load: calweek 01.2000 per full, then 02.2000, 03.2000, ...
=> you have to create 53 * 12 = 636 DTPs
other solution:
- create a Z-table. there you saved the last loaded calweek.
- create a Z-program to trigger a event.
- insert in your dtp a filter: read z-table. add 1 week. save the new week in the z-table.
- create a process chain. insert the dtp. insert the z-program.
=> so you have a loop. the process chain starts himself.
=> the next dtp load the next week.
=> you need a break for this loading. For example: when you are in 01.2013 create a shotdump.
