Selection of template in Output causes paper size to reset to International

I am trying to use the Output module for the first time in Bridge CS4 (3.0.0.464).  I am trying to print some photos.
I have selected Document > Page Preset > US Paper, and my template changes to "Custom".  If I try to select another template, my Page Preset switches back to International A4.
How can I use templates and still use US Paper?  Is this a bug/problem or am I doing it wrong?
I can use the Layout to change the number across and down.  This is working.
Thanks,
Marina

i3 will then use the lowest common subset of screen resolutions, the rest of your screen will be left untouched (it will show the X background). So, in our example, this would be 1024x768 (my notebook has 1280x800).
Looks like it is meant to be that way described in the userguide.

  • Resizing Brochure to different paper sizes

I have created a brochure using an Apple template and have my paper size as 8.5 x 11.  However, since each page in the template is 2 actual pages, when I go to print, the brochure is half the size.  When I try and resize the page, the brochure image remains the same size, leaving white space along the edges.  How to I get my brochure images to automatically adjust to the new paper size?

    OK.
Here's the preliminary result for the first (Cover) page in the template.
The part inside the thin black rectangle is the finished size. I used Oversize Tabloid as the sheet size (12x18") and centered the page on that. Your printer may want this size to allow for trimming the pages. If not, use Tabloid (11x17), and ignore the black rectangle shown here (not part of the finished page, and not used in the revised procedure listed below).
I would start by making a duplicate of the file, then work with the copy, not the original. That way, if you make an error (or if I did) you'll have a quick route back to the original.
    Here are the steps:
Open the copy of the document.
    Go File > Page Setup.
Set Format for: to Any Printer
Set Paper Size: to Tabloid Oversize
    Click OK
Open the Inspector. Go to the Document Inspector.
Set all four margins to 0.5 inch. Set Header (position) to 0.75 inch.
In the document, select on object, then press command-A to Select All (of the objects).
Go Arrange > Group to group all objects (except the header box with its text) into one object.
(This should create a separate grouped object on each page. You can scroll down to check.)
With all of the grouped objects selected, go to the Metrics Inspector.
Set Width to 17 in, Height to 11 in, and both position values to 0.5.
Go Arrange > Ungroup to ungroup the grouped objects and make them individually editable.
At this point the basic resizing of the document is completed. You will likely need to do some tweaking. Individual graphics may require re-shaping to remove the 'NFL Lineman' appearance of people in photos stretched this way. That should be fixable by reinserting the original graphics files into the media frames. This will remove the stretch, but more of the original image will ve visible. Text size will not have been changed by this resizing. That requires resetting the font sizes. Text will also flow differently in the larger text boxes.

  • Pixma 330 fax output error check paper size

I received a fax on my Pixma 330. The document came through fine, but now I have "fax output error, check paper size and press OK". The paper size is correct, and when I press OK, it prints out the original document again, then gives me the same error message. If I turn off the machine, when I turn it back on, it again prints the document, then gives me the error message. The machine will not let me do anything except press OK. How can I get this to go away? Thanks.

    Hi JWK,
Please make sure that the paper is loaded correctly and the settings are correct.  To do this, please follow these steps:
    1. Flatten the four corners of the paper before loading it.
    Note
Align the edges of paper neatly before loading. Loading paper without aligning the edges may cause paper jams.
If paper is curled, hold the opposing curled corners and gently bend them in the opposite direction until the paper becomes completely flat. See Paper is curled..
To avoid curling, handle paper as follows.
    - When you do not print, remove unused paper from the Rear Tray, put them back into the package, and keep it on a level surface.
    - Take out only the necessary number of sheets from the package, just before printing.
    2. Load the paper.
    (1) Open the Paper Support, raise it, then tip it back.
    (2) Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.
    (3) Slide the Paper Guides (A) to open them, and load the paper in the center of the Rear Tray WITH THE PRINT SIDE FACING YOU
    Important
Always load paper in the portrait orientation (B). Loading paper in the landscape orientation (C) can cause paper jams.
    (4) Slide the Paper Guides (A) to align them with both sides of the paper stack.
Do not slide the Paper Guides too hard. The paper may not be fed properly.
    Note:
Do not load sheets of paper higher than the Load Limit Mark(D).
    After loading paper
When using the machine to copy or print without a computer, select the size and type of the loaded paper in Page size and Media type of the settings screen in each mode.

  • HP psc 2175 all in one not responding to paper size selected

Im trying to print out wedding invitations using the downloaded template from the invitation company, through microsoft word 2003, windows xp, sp3. And my printer wont respond to any aper size selections other than 8.5x11. It won't even let me change to one of the other options in the paper size drop down box. I can put in the paper sizes, but when I print, it's not changed. And in print preview, it won't let me change the document at all. I've made sure everything is up to date.

A complete re-install worked. I completely formatted and the reinstalled Snow Leopard and life is good.

  • I cannot select the Paper Size when I try to print with HP Photosmart B110a with Windows 8.1 64bit

I cannot select the Paper Size when I try to print with HP Photosmart B110a
The same printer was working OK with my old PC with OS Windows 7
However I got a new PC with OS Windows 8.1 64bit
I installed the new driver for HP Photosmart B110a that I dowloaded from HP site. Driver forWindows 8.1 64bit.
In addition to not being able to chose the paper size, also when I go to Printer Properties in Options, all the characters are non-ascii.
Do you know what may be the problem?
    Thank you

    Hello Nanu64,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some issues when attempting to print from your computer.
I also see that you stated that not all the options are available in the printing preferences options.  This could be because the installation was not complete or it failed.
I suggest that we do a complete uninstall/ reinstall as well as some additional steps.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
If you have the printer connected to the computer with a usb cable, please remove the cable from both ends and leave it disconnected until further notice.
The next link that I have for you will give you detailed instructions for Uninstalling the Printer Software.  Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer so that the changes take affect.
When the computer is back up and running, please disable any firewalls or anti virus protection you may have running. We don't want anything getting in the way of the reinstall.
The following download is the HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers.  Save this download to the desktop of the computer so that it creates its own icon.  This will make it easy for us to find when the download is complete.
Double click the new icon and follow the installation instructions.  The installation will give you connection options (Wireless , usb or Ethernet), if connecting usb, please wait for the prompt to connect the cable.  Connecting the usb cable before hand can cause an issue with the installation.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • How can I select paper size while in print preview ?

I have a printer with four different paper trays, and each one is loaded with different size of paper: A3, A4, Legal, envelopes. When I use IE 11, I can easy go to print preview, click on page setup (little gear icon), select paper size , margins, etc.. there, and when i hit OK, the page is adjusted to the settings I selected and its ready to print, and printer selects the proper size of the paper automatically
In Firefox v32, I can almost do this same, but I'm stuck with printing only on A4 style paper, as I don't see where to select the paper I want to print on !
I tried to select A3 and legal paper in the printer driver, but then firefox used the selected paper, but printout on the paper came out as set to A4 size, and rest of the page was empty ! Also I was not able to see the page preview of the selected paper either. How do I then print on other size papers than a4 ?
I found only one workaround which does not suits my needs but works: First: Go to printer driver and select legal or A3 paper as default, and then open firefox. If I do that i can print on any paper I select, but thats a horrible workaround, because then I often forget to change the default paper size back inside the printer driver, and i print my documents on wrong paper, wasting paper, ink and time...
Please let me know if there is a way to fix this printing feature somehow.
    Thanks.

    MichalB,
Sorry, IMO there is no real "fix" for what you are experiencing. Printer prefs set or changed in the operating system won't affect Firefox printing ''[IMO, either ancient code in Firefox or a "cross-browser thing".]'' Firefox has its' own settings for prefs and it defaults to the "last used" for all printer preference setting. And there is no way to set a pref as "use now and return to my defaults after this print job is completed".
As you have found out, there is no way of changing paper size from the Print Preview screen. Other prefs - Margins & Header/Footer can be changed via Page Setup and you can see changes in the Preview window, but not for paper size. As ''CoryMH'' mentioned, '''paper size''' is selected thru what called the "native print dialog" box using the '''Properties''' button which shows a window provided by your printer software for the Printer which is selected in the "native print dialog" window, and accessed after you hit the Print button in the Print Preview screen.
Problem is that you can't '''"preview"''' what is going to be printed when you change paper size. If you go back to Print Preview without printing from the "native print dialog" the change for Paper Size isn't saved for viewing in Print Preview!
IMO, it would be nice if Firefox recognized each "tray" as a separate printer, so that a user could set Margins & Header/Footer prefs AND paper size per tray. IOW, a feature sort of writing a completely new print module that would reflect "today's" environment with multiple tray printers; rather than to continue using the print module that was built by Netscape back in '94 - '95, which we are stuck with almost 20 years later.
''As I sit here shaking my head after composing this reply, wondering why the issues I had back in 2002 with printing from Firefox / Firebird / Phoenix haven't been corrected in the last 14 years.''

  • How do i select a custom paper size on the 6500A , specifics 18cmX26cm

I want to print on a specific paper size, 18cmX26cm.  The suggestions from microsoft don't accuratly display my features or windows or the tabs that they say to click.  Also your forums seem to mislead the same information.  For the money I paid for this printer is not what I expected and very disappointed.  The lack of info is appalling, and confusing and just down right frustrating, leading me to conclude that your all as crazy as I am for trying to do something over and over, and expecting different results.

    Hi,
Which Microsoft product (application) are you using ? Printer supports the following custom sizes:
From ADF: Custom-sized media (ADF) between 127 to 216 mm wide and 241 to 305 mm long (5 to 8.5 inches wide and 9.5 to 12 inches long)
From input tray: Custom-sized media between 76.2 to 216 mm wide and 101 to 762 mm long (3 to 8.5 inches wide and 4 to 30 inches long)
You need to select right custom size from the application.
    Regards.

  • I am unable to select the correct paper size when printing photo's in iPhoto 11. When I select the paper size in the custom window for 4x6 prints the prints only appear on an 8 1/2x11 page. My Mac is a year old iMac running 10.8.2.

I am unable to print 4x6 photo's using iPhoto 11. When I do they only print out on lettter size paper even though I enter 4x6 in the custom window in the print size menu. My older Snow Leopard system using iPhoto 9 the paper size window offered a 4x6 paper size which worked well.

Selecting paper size in the first sreen tellis iPhoto what papery you are going to use - it does not tell the printer what paper to use - printer specific options on on the last (second or third if you customize the print) screen where you tell the print any specifics like paper source (typically printers need to you tell them where a specific paper is loaded - they do not really know the sizes in each paper tray)

  • Custom Paper Size in Page Setup grayed out and cannot be selected.

I am playing with the iWork '08 demo and looking at Pages. I need to create an 8.25 x 10.5 custom paper size, which I did, but when I try to select it in Page Setup, it is grayed out. If I open a document made in the previous Pages that was done using this size, it still works.
    Any thoughts?

I'm having this same problem as well. I'm trying to set up my page size to B5. I create a new custom size with B5 dimensions in the Page Setup screen but after I save it, I'm unable to select it as my page size.
    Thanks for the help.

  • PDF auto select paper tray based on paper size

    * this was originally posted here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2586377&tstart=0 but I was informed I was in the wron g forum.
I have a Windows pc only for 1 thing - printing pdfs. My problem is that Windows printer drivers allow me to have auto select paper size/tray depending on if the pdf page is standard or legal. I have not yet found anyway to do this through the mac.
I have a Brother HD-5370 laser printer and need some assistance with the paper auto select. If any one has any suggestions or an actual fix, I am all eras.
I have used Snow Leopard, Leopard as well as 10.4 and the problem is with any pdf viewer I have tried (viewer, adobe reader, other 3rd party which names escape me). The option to auto select printing by pdf page size is selected and the drawers are set correctly. It just won't print how it's supposed to.
    any sugegstions,
    Dan

This has been an issue for at least 3 years now. I have checked for driver sin the past and have tried to look up answers via Brothers website - all to no solution to my problem. It just may be that Brother's printers do not have this feature. The options do show as valid options though.
The printer is currently connected to a Windows pc located on a different floor. So in order to test, I have to move the printer or the mac.

  • Change paper size before selecting print preview

I want to change Paper Size prior to selecting Print Preview. That is not possible in Firefox. Can Paper Size options be added to Page Setup and/or Print Preview? Please fix.

You might be able to set that thru your Printer Preferences, so look there from within Firefox first. {Ctrl + P} then hit the Properties button, on the Paper Tab you should be able to set the Paper Size.
If not, give this a try:
type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
    Pref Name = print.printer_your_printer_name.print_paper_height - 11.00
    and print.printer_your_printer_name.print_paper_width - 8.50
Is that what you see? If you see those "Letter" measurements, try re-setting the main pref, and let Firefox reacquire the info from your OS.
    in about:config
    Preference name = print.print_printer
Right-Click and select Reset, then restart Firefox.
