Selection screen field not accepting 0 as a value

i have declared a field in the selection screen as
SELECT-OPTIONS: s_level FOR crmm_territory-level_id .
and this field will comprise of values from 0-9. but when im executing the report this field is not accepting 0 as a value, instead it is treating it as a blank and providing me all the values for s_level from 0-9.
its working fine with any other value and is displaying their respective values for 1-9
only problem is when i give the value as zero.
also in the debugger i tried to IF s-level[] is not initail...its showing it as initial
while i have provided it a value of 0.

Hello Divya,
If you are giving 0 in the select-options....
if that field is numeric... it means that it is inital.
If that field is character... then it will display the result accordingly.
Check with the data element of the reference field.

I have a small problem with one of my query that I just created for finding status of our customers. I have a code section which handles it all . The problem is that I ahve a user field called "Check date" which I ahve used in selection screen as well as the layout, when I put a value in this field in the selection screen the report dosent give any output " NO data to display" but when I leave it open it does give me the out put with the saem check date as I ahd entered earlier in my selection screen.

Selection Screen - Field dehighlight

Hello All,
How can i make an Selection screen field not as an Input field.
The field is a parameter P_GJAHR which will always be set to 2005. So, i would like to see FY 2005 on the selection screen field as dehighlighted.

Selection screen fields are not getting detected in an infoset in code

Hi All,
I am developing an infoset query using logical database 'PNPCE'. I am facing problem while writing a validation on selection screen fields on an infoset query at infoset code level.
The fields that are under program specific selection are determined at runtime with variables viz. SP$00001, SP$00002 etc. There are actually select options on selection screen of an infoset query.
So I cannot write a direct code on these fields as they do not exist at infoset level and hence cannot be detected.
I want to put down a validation that if user does not select anything on selection-screen and executes the query, then he should get a pop-up message 'Narrow down your search...' and he should go back to selection screen again.
Is there any alternative way to achieve this?

Your Screen resolution is more in the system that's why while creating it was fine and while executing it was gone after the next field.
so you better create a frame and place that inside it or you can change cols size in the properties about the columns you want

Selection screen field

Hi,
A field in the selection screen of the report program should be disabled by default.
I have written the logic for the same in at selection-screen output.
If the user enters value in another field in selection screen,the field should be enabled for input.
When the user executes the program,o/p is displayed.
When the user clicks back button in the o/p screen,the field is again shown in disabled mode as the event at selection screen o/p is being triggered.
The field should be enabled when the user cliks back button in the o/p.
How to achieve this? => by writing the code. And we cannot do that for you.

Hi,
If i understood correctly you requirement you just have to make use of a global variable i.e. gv_enabled, which will be used as flag. Before disable the field in at selection-screen output event, check if gv_enabled is initial. When you enable the field for input, for the first time just move 'X' to gv_enabled.

Selection screen field problem

Hello experts..
i have a selection screen , in that i have a field   s_bwart for mseg-bwart.
some times the user will input the data in the field and sometimes he wont. we have fixed movement types combination like
11-21 , 13-24 , 13-56 , 101-543 , 101-544 etc.
if the user did not input any thing in the selection screen , i am populating s_bwart in at-selection screen event with all the mvt types. after executing the report when user presses the back button to come to the selection screen, there the s_bwart field is containing all the mvt types in single values ie in the select options screen. So the user dont want that, if he comes back nothing should be there in the selection screen field s_bwart if he has not inputted anything. if he inputs only 11 mvt type then when he comes back after executing the report he should see only 11 in the select screen field ie s_bwart. Please send the replies on how to solve the problem.

in ur program try to display values for users in START-OF-SELECTION event as it triggers after the selection screen displayed for users. if user doesn't give any input then display default values in this event. and also create a variable
for ex:
data: ws_flag type c,
         p_value type i.
after u display default values for users in selection screen assign the flag as ' X '
ws_flag = 'X'.
before leaving ur program based on flag try to do like this.
if ws_flag = ' X '.
    clear s_data. // s_data is the select options for u.
else.
     s_data = p_value. // the value which user gave in selection screen as i/p.
endif.

Regarding Selection-Screen Field Display

Hi All,
I have issues with Selection-Screen field display.
The Actual issue is i had declared a selection screen field as: s_exgen FOR embk-exgen.
EMBK-EXGEN is actually 20 Char length field.
But in output display it is being shown as 18 Char field though i can type in all 20 characters.
But display restricted to 18 Characters only.
Can anybody give me the solution for the same!

You can decrease the visible length of the field but you can not increase more than database field length. check SAP help on this :
select-options: s_exgen FOR embk-exgen VISIBLE LENGTH 5.

F4 Help for the selection screen field

I have to display F4 help for a selection screen field. i am using following code:

but is i select code 001(First Value), i also need to capture it's corresponding Text value. In return table pi_return_tab i have only Code value.
Please help me out.
Note: Based on return code i can't search into the internal table gi_code, because as shown in the example, code has multiple text.

I think this is what you need. The following code will return the key and the text (OR any other columns), if both columns are in the selection screen the selected values (both columns) will also be passed to the corresponding parameters. If you only need the text to be in the return table and not passed to the selection screen then set the parameter for text with NO-DISPLAY option.

Displaying error message while entering selection screen fields

i generated a report.
in that report, the selection screen fields are plant and material type..
now my rqmt is like this :
if user enters any plant except '8210' in the selection screen, then a pop up should appear like.. enter 8210 plant only, and the cursor should remain in the same screen allowing user to enter correct plant.
and then same with the case of material type also..user should enter 'mcfe' material type only..
im using message classes like this:
if so_bwkey-low ne '8210' or so_bwkey-high ne '8210'.

if so_mtart-low is not initial and so_mtart-high is not initial and so_mtart-low ne 'mcfe'

with this logic, when i enter plant..it is prompting

and then when i press enter key it is again prompting
2)enter material type mcfe only..
but iam not entering material type here..
i want to get 2nd error message if and only if i enter material type..

As far as i know its not possible without pressing enter/Execute or any action on selection screen.
This is because report programming is event driven. So without any event i don't think we can achieve this.
Probably u can search in SDN/Google as well. If u r lucky enough some one has found some thing for you. But at the same time don't forget to update this thread if u find some thing:-)

I am Anil.can any body explains me how to validate a selection-screen field for the following scenario?
I have customer nos ranging from 100-1000.among them i dont have any sales orders for the customers who are in between 150-250.I have sales order(VBELN) as select-options and Plant(WERKS) as Parameter on the selection-screen.I want to validate these fields without hardcaode.How can i do that?Please send me the complete code.
I am not getting how to validate a field which is declared as parameter?

How to link a search help to a selection screen field

I am using field PKWRG from PA0017 table in selection screen. I need F4 help there as in Tcode PA30 . But this field does not have value table or check table. However, it has a search help attached 'TRV_PKWRG' .
But, I donot know how to assign a search help to a selection screen field. Please help.

in the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN and NOT in END-OF-SELECTION.

Selection screen fields in query

experts
i have created a query with 5 selection screen fields, now i want to change the order of the fields in the selection screen.
Earlier:
Material
order
delivery
qty
amount
Now i want
order
material
delivery
amount qty
In sq01 i tried but there are possibility to change the output fields but not selection screen field sequence.

Hi,
In SQ01, enter the query name and click on the change button.
Next click on the next screen (top left) arrow button until you reach Change query xxxxx: Selections.
Here under the column No enter the number like 1,2,3, 4 ... against the checked fields that want to see in order. Then save the query.

Hi All,
Is there any standard function module which enables us to determine which fields on the selection screen have values entered for them. In other words, I wish to determine which selection screen fields are no longer initial.

Why cant you simply use in this way?
if sel_screen_field1[] is not initial. "for selet-options
endif.
if sel_screen_field1 is not initial. "for parameters
endif.
is it not suitable for your case?
