I faced a similar issue (for what I understand your request is).
My requirement for the Variable Screen was to do:
1) place a link to a ppt file
2) remove buttons "Save", "Save As...), "Delete"... the standard buttons come when running the Query or WebTempl
We were using a Web Templ for BI7.0
I struggled trying to find out how to do it. My conclusions are:
- WAD, not sure we can accomplish it using a Web Template but i did not "play" a lot with the Web_Template Properties in order to know
- XHTML, I was told in my post HTML modification was the way, but I have close to nil background in HTML and couold not find the way of accessing the Variable Entry screen
For instance, I had to remove similar buttons and change some font size from a link on the Web Template (WAD), which was pretty straight forward. In WAD the buttons come with its own icon and to increase the Font size for that link we used XHTML (). But the heck of the variable screen...well, i just did not get trhough to it to modify it in any way.

Selection Screen for BW Query

Hi,
We have a requirement where, in the Selection Screen of the Query we have to show a Table, the data will be fetch from a Info Object. There will be a last column for taking data from the User.
Once the selection screen is filled and executed Report will be outputed.
This can be achieved in R/3 ABAP by using Table Control on the screen.
but have no idea how this can be achieved in BW.
Can anyone help me out ?

Thanks for replying. Let me explain the scenario little more in detail.
We have a selection screen which will have some slection fields and a table like structure for displaying some values by default. When the execute button is pressed the final report is generated.
There is no link between table structure and the final report except one of the coulmn field is used to derive a flag value in the final report.
The problem we are facing is how the Selection fields and table structure be displayed when the Report transaction is called.

Changing sequence in selection screen of ABAP query

Hi,
I have added a field(ZEXTLTCA - Exclude LTCA lots) as SELECTION in a Infoset selections.We can add additional fields and selection fields to infoset.I am using the option selection field.This will appear in the selection screen when we execute query.
Few more fields i have declared as part of table in infoset.
These table fields will be visible in the query to change the sequence and its characteristics.
Now the problem is as selection fields of infoset are taking priority over infoset table fields ( which will be visible in query) selection fields are coming top when i execute query.
Ex:
Exclude Cancelled Lots
Material number
Plant
Material type
Inspection Lot Origin
I need to change the order of appearance in the selection screen.
As
Material number
Plant
Material type
Inspection Lot Origin
Exclude Cancelled Lots
Can anyone help me in solving this.

Hello Nirmala,
Go to Sq01, select the query and goto to change mode.go to the next screens till u reach Selection fields. Here u enter the NO field in the sequence which u want ot appear in the selection screen and it is done. Save and execute.
Ex:
Selection fields          No
Exclude Cancelled Lots     5
Material number            1
Plant                      2
Material type              3
Inspection Lot Origin      4

i have created a query with 5 selection screen fields, now i want to change the order of the fields in the selection screen.

Now i want

In sq01 i tried but there are possibility to change the output fields but not selection screen field sequence.

Hi,
In SQ01, enter the query name and click on the change button.
Next click on the next screen (top left) arrow button until you reach Change query xxxxx: Selections.
Here under the column No enter the number like 1,2,3, 4 ... against the checked fields that want to see in order. Then save the query.

Restricting to few values in F4 selection in selection screen of the query

In my query selection screen i am getting all the values which are in provider & master data(in F4 selection).
But I want to see only few vallues how can i achieve this in my selection screen.

F4 help on selection screen in BI Query

Hi All,
When I execute a query in BI, I get a selection screen. Now when I press F4 on article number in that screen, I get all the values in the resulting screen.
Ex.
Plant                   Article Number
100            5000
200            5000
300            6000
Now the requirement is that I do want only one article number to be displayed as follows.
Plant                   Article Number
100            5000
300            6000
How can this be sorted out.

May I know, on what logic you want to display selection values?
One way to achieve that is to restrict values in query, this will display your query result with only restricted value. But it will show all values in selection.
Another option can be of using authorization, user will see only his authorized values in the selection.
If you can describe your requirement in more details, more help can be provided.

Error with 'At Selection-Screen' in Infoset query (Urgent)

Hi All,
I have defined a field as a selection criteria in Selections tab of Infoset & written a few lines of code. The syntax is ok, but when i try to run the query, the system prompts the message as below & terminates:
'Local SELECT-OPTIONS are not allowed (FORM routine or GET event is active).'
I would like to know what code should i enter in the GET / GET LATE section. Can someone help me?

Thanks for the reply, but wish to inform you, i have not written any code in GET / GET-LATE section of the infoset. I just read the SAP help files, where it mentions that i need to maintain some check code in GET / GET-LATE section if i have defined selection criteria in selections tab.
May i know what code should i maintain?
In selections tab i have defined 2 selection criterias, for one criteria i have maintained the code & for the other in Extras field i have maintained a Default value & entered 'NO-DISPLAY'.
Await your inputs to resolve this problem.

I have a SAP Query and I need a variant where either of two fields should not be 0. Is there some way to add an OR between two selection options? I can't change the actual query because it's used with many other variants.

Hi,
Click on the infoobject 0calmonth in the Query. On the right side you can see the properties of the infoobject.
Here there is an option for Sorting in the tab Display.
You have options to sort on Characteristic, Sort by and Sort Direction(Ascending & Descending).

Change of variable text in BEx selection screen

Hi all,
in our BW system the key users are allowed to create queries and also create variables. In some cases, especially for often used info objects like 0DATE the number of variables is increasing very quickly. The reason for this is, that 0DATE is used for a big variety of meanings e.g. delivery date, order date, invoice date etc.
So the users always create new variables only to have a meaningful description in the BEx selection screen, because they do not want only "date" to be displayed here. As result we have many different varianbles with exactly the same technical settings with only different names.
So my question is: Is it possible to change the diplayed text in the selection screen for each query without having to create a new variable?

Wrong date format when using selection screen query

Hi all,
I have a problem in a report when usign the selection screen of the query.
the system has been upgraded recently from a 3.5 to 7.0. when a query is run in the bex web the user can put in the selection date needer to run the query.
currently if u select a month using the selection screen next to the input form, the month will show up in the input field
as 006 09 (006space09) instead of 06.2009 for the selection of june.
does anyone know how to fix this? it was working good using the 3.5 version of the bex web.

Using the list cube transaction and using the selection sceen and selecting the month it does put the right selection in the input field. ive also just tested it using de bx excel plugin and using the selection screen the correct value is set in the input field. so i think it more of a bex we b problem but i dont know where to start the search for the solution.

Collect Bex selection screen in BAPI

I have created a Bex Query in BI7.4, and i want to load a virtual key figure. To do that i have created a Bapi based on my multiprovider. For the moment all is ok.
In the selection screen of my query i have a calmonth selection (from -> to).
And in my bapi the load of my virtual KF depends of the calmonth enter in the selection screen, but i do not know how to collect the entered calmonth.
I have declared all attributes, updated the define and compute method but anywhere i found the calconth of the selection screen.
Is it possible to collect that in a BAPI?

But it is not as easier as you said.
In my report I need to display in the first column the material number and in a second column the max stock quantity depending the period enter in the selection screen.
So in my BAPI, I need to loop in my DSO (where are store the daily stock quantity) to find the max quantity for the period (from -> to) enter by the user.
Example, if the user enter 01.2013 -> 03.2013, I must display the max stock quantity between the 01.01.13 to the 31.03.13 and if , the user enter 01.2013 -> 12.2013, I must display the max stock quantity between the 01.01.13 to the 31.12.13.
I think that it is not possible with a RKF. What do you think about that, is it possible?
So a would like to collect the calmonth enter by that user in my “where” clause of my loop in the bapi.

Wrong sequence in selection screen generated by ABAP Query

Hi,
I am developing a query to display the data in the view.
My query has 8 selection fields totally.
As part of my requirement I have added selection parameter in the
selections tab of the infoset and maintained the sequence as 9.
Inspite of maintaining the sequence number as 9 in the infoset, It is
appearing first in the selection screen of the query.
I tried putting different numbers in the sequence number, but even it
is appearing first in the selection screen.
Can you please let me know how to display the selections declared in
the infoset as per the sequence required.

Actually what happen when you declare your own fields in ABAP query . you have to care about the sequence . As an example if youre selecting lets say state name , you have two variables
1-state
2- land
for state you have to select land first , if your state is first and land is 2nd it gave you the error of sequence .
Because you have to get data in land first in order to get state specific to the land .
it should be
1-Land
2-State
Just see the your fields , Im sure youre missing that .
You can also see the NO ( field ) in Query ( Sq03 ) . where you can define the seqence on selection.

Checkbox in the ABAP query selection screen

Hi experts,
The reqiurement is to add checkbox(parameter name: EX_ZE_ST) to the selection screen of the query and if its checked then the records with the quantity = 0, should not be displayed in the output.
I added a check box and now my issue is, how to suppress displaying the record having quantity = 0.
that quantity field is a custom added field and in sq02 i selected that quantity( Z_HANDQTY) field and gone into the code for the same and wrote below code...
the total generated table view for this query is : marav
if EX_ZE_ST = 'X' and Z_HANDQTY = 0.
break-point.
clear: marav, Z_MATDESC, Z_MATGRPDESC, Z_TAXIND,
        Z_TAXTYPE, MARD, MARD-LGPBE, Z_PREVMATNR,
