Selective Deletion of Synchronous Messages Possible ?

I want to delete  messages for  few synchronous interfaces only.I do not want to archive these
messages and also I understand that archiving of synchronos messages is possible.
I scheduled the job  SAP_BC_XMB_DELETE_<client> to delete the messages but this job deletes all messages(all asynchrouns and synchromous) based on the retetnion period even though I added the required few  interfaces only in SXMB_ADM in Define Interfaces for archiving.
The job  SAP_BC_XMB_DELETE_<client> should not delete all messages falling in the retention period but only the messages  for the interfaces which I added in SXMB_ADM.
I have gone thru many threads and SAP notes but could not find a solution to my requirement.
Is there any way to delete  synchronous messages selectively ?
Your suggestion is highly appreciated.

Sorry,I made a mistake in my question .

I cannot select more than one message at a time to delete from the trash. I did not have this problem before I updated to Maverick. What am I doing wrong?

This works in many different ways and in lots of apps.
Hold down the command key and you can select from a list (leaving some not checked) to exclude them from the delete process.
To empty all of the trash folder use command-a keys to "select all" and then the delete key to remove them.

  • "Command-i" which was so useful in being able to selectively delete messages from the servers no longer works. Is their a replacement? Will it be fixed? Or should I change my mail application?

"Command-i" which was so useful for selectively deleting messages from servers has disappeared in  Maverick. I wonder if it has been replaced by something else or should I look into other mail applications.

Hmmm.  Which Mail program are you referring to?
in Mac Mail command -i used to bring up the Account info pane on the server  (10.8.5)
Now it seems you have to use the gear at the bottom in "Mail Activity" to get the drop down (10.9) :

  • Can't delete previous unread messages in hub pinch view via select previous (hold date line)

Happily running OS 10.2.1.2141 on my Z10 (STL100-3). I was thrilled to see the hub's Pinch Selection Criteria option in 10.2.1 but did not have the occasion to try it. Then this weekend, my mailbox got flooded with email notices from our alert system and I was facing having to delete hundreds of emails the old tedious way, multi-select each email one at a time and hit the delete option.  Well, that's when I tried to use the hub's new pinch selection option to "hide" my read messages. I then held the date line to select all the previous messages and hit the delete option which asked my if a really wanted to delete those messages. I confirmed by choice and poof! nothing happened. I tried several times to no avail, even trying with flagged messages. It looks like you can't delete messages while in Pinch Selection view if you select them via the Select previous (hold date line) method. It does work if you select/multi-select the messages manualy but what's the point then?....
So, unless i'm doing it wrong, this appears to be a bug.

Oh, yea for hundreds. Do you get hundreds each day you need to delete?
Once you get caught up on your deleting, then your daily upkeep should be a reasonable low effort.
    Anyways, that's how it works.

How to delete my 500 messages at one time without selecting one by one?

Could you break this down for me more specifically?  Hit menu after I've gotten into my email?  I don't see delete in the menu (only the box to the left of the actual email itself).  Thanks for any help!!

  • Why can't I delete all incoming messages at once without having to select each one first. It can be done while in the "Trash" folder, but not the "IN" folder.

Why can't I delete all incoming messages at once without having to select each one first. It can be done while in the "Trash" folder, but not the "IN" folder.

Well, what I see happing is this: Tapping edit and checking the first message brings up the “Delete” option. Holding it until the red message “Delete Message” appears, then letting go of the red button and tapping the checked button makes the “Delete Message” message go away. The checked message is still checked with an option to delete just that message. Tap the checked message again just cancels the whole process and I’m back to square one.
However, if I check a message that is part of a thread of messages and tap Delete, I have the option of deleting all messages in the thread.
Perhaps the fact that I’m using the 3rd generation of the iPad is the problem, but your suggestion isn’t working.

  • Selective Deletion is possible based on request ID?

    Hello Friends,
Our Cube is Not Compressed where Aggregate Rollup was done and Compression of Aggregate rollup are done.
In this Case, Can i peform selective delete of data based on Request ID? If yes,
    1) Any special procedure and need to take care of any thing?
    2) Does Aggreagte rollup and its compression will adjust automatically with next run ? (or) do we need to do any thing for aggregates rollup and its compression?
    Thanks
    Tony

    Hi,
Before you do Compression you can perform Selective Deletion for Req ID. And it automatically changes your Aggregates also.

  • Is it possible to delete individual instant messag...

I understand how to go into tools and delete my entire instant messaging history, but can I delete individual text messages and, if so, how?

    No.
Deleting individual calls requires iOS 5, which is not compatible with the iPhone 3G.  The latest iOS for the iP3G is 4.2.1.

  • Selecting and moving many messages not working - try sorting by message classes

I posted this a while back, and have an update now.
I file my sent items.  Call me crazy, but I like to at the end of every quarter, move sent items from that quarter into sub folders.  It's usually 2-4000 items, and ever since I installed OL2010, I have had weird issues when trying to clean my Sent items.
Example:  Select 2000 items, sorted by date from Sent Items.  Drag and drop to my 2009Q4 folder.  It then prompts me "Creating a new item from the selected items could take some time. Are you sure you want to create a new item from these 2000 items?"
So I figured possible Ctrl is stuck down or something, so I right click, Move, select the folder.  Same issue.
I start selecting smaller data sets.  I got to about 50-60 items at a time that I was able to move and not get that message.  I got frustrated and stopped working on it.
This morning, I decided to re-test this.  Same issue presents itself.  So instead, I sorted by message class.  I was able to select 3800 message items.  The remaining items were messages with attachments, text/mobile messages, and calendar invite responses.
It appears that some combination of selecting multiple message classes was triggering my issue.  I suspect the newest of them, the mobile messages to be the issue, so I deleted them, and retried, nope, same error, even selecting only the show message class types.   Would like to see this fixed, of course, and will be sending a frown with the link to this thread as well.
    Chris

I had this problem too.  For me, simply sorting by message class, then finding all the calendar items and moving them first, then going back and doing the rest, allowed me to move them as I liked.   However, its not clear to me that I have
all message classes (not sure what they all are), so it could be there are other message classes that cause problems when you move "mixed classes".   I do think this is an MS Outlook bug, but not clear anyone has reported it to MS.  ;-<
You can prove this by simply selecting a calendar item and a msg, and try moving the two.  You will have this issue.
However, you'd think that MS itself would be a vast user of MS Outlook and if we're discovering this, you'd think MS internal folks are too, so I'm deferring to them to self-resolve.   Until then, I'll just use this workaround.
Definition of "Message classes" for others reading this...  You may have already inferred, but two examples of "classes" are a normal email (.msg) and a calendar item.  You can sort these by clicking on the "icon" field at the top of your email
folder, just to the right of the "bell" (Reminders).   Not sure how to put a .JPG in this posting, since a picture would explain this much better than I can using words.

  • How do I delete all email messages in just one touch (delete all feature)?

Does anyone know how to perform a "delete all" in order to delete all email messages rather than going through each message one at a time to move from the inbox to the trash folder, then delete from the trash folder permanently?  Currently, we seem to be able to only select one message at a time, rather than perform "Delete All".
I read in a forum post about the "Delete All" button being available only when pressing Edit in the Trash folder.  Could someone please provide the sequence of steps to successfully delete all messages in one step?  Thanks.
    John Bottiger

It is not possible other than as described by yourself - singly to the Trash folder and then collectively from there if you so wish.

  • Is synchronous scenario possible with JDBC & JMS adapter?

Suppose,JDBC adapter is updating a table or deleting some entry from a table. Can we have an acknowledgement back that the work has been done successfully??
same qstn for JMS adapter also..
Suppose JMS adptr is communicating with any messaging system, can we have acknowledgement back?

Jms Adapter supports Asynchronous scenarios only but If u want to use Synchronous then possible with Standard module beans :
For ex: JMS to Rfc synchronous scenario:
    In id:
Sender jms adapter supports Asynchronous scenarios so we have to use standard module beans in Module tab.
    Like :
    AF_Modules/RequestResponseBean -> 0
    CallSapAdapter
    AF_Modules/ResponseOnewayBean -> 1
    And Provide  values in configuration:
    0 -> passThrough -> true
1 -> receiverChannel ->provide RECEIVER JMS adapter name ( have to create one more JMS receiver communication channel for responce )
1 -> receiverService ->provide receiver adapter service name (that is  provide sender business component because need response for sender )

  • Selective Deletion of Infocube data

    BW experts,
I have a scenario where in "rough" data already stored in an InfoCube will be replaced by a more "intelligent" data from another source. The deletion/replacement of data should happen without manual intervention (cause flat file data files arrive at a schedule time and should be loaded "automatically"into the cube) What are my options here? I currently know that it is possible to delete infocube contents using function module 'RSDRD_SEL_DELETION' (perhaps do it in the Update Rule).
    1) Is there another way (more "SAP Standard" or more "intelligent")?  I need to delete based on characteristics  that can be found in the file (e.g. the file has data for 0MATERIAL, 0CALWEEK).
    2) What are the "watch outs" for using function module 'RSDRD_SEL_DELETION'?
    Please advise.
    Thank you very much.

  • Statistics (overview) for Synchronous messages processed via AAE

    Hello,
    We are on PI 7.11
Is there any way to get synchronous messages processed via AAE displayed on RWB Message Monitor Overview view?
Maybe there is some parameter available similar to messaging.syncMessageRemover.removeBody for persisting payloads for sync messages.
    Thanks!
    Best Regards,
    Artsiom Anichenka

    Mark,
But I think there is already (PI 7.11) a possibility to persist payloads for java-only sync messages. I was mentioning this parameter in my original post:
    messaging.syncMessageRemover.removeBody
this parameter is true by default and if you set it to false payloads will not be deleted, but this is not our aim. We want payloads to be deleted from sync messages, but we also want to see those messages on RWB MessageMonitor for overview.
For me this is somekind of frustrating that the overview page doesn't really give you overview of what is happening on your system, like what and how many messages where processed...
So can you please specify what is really planned for 7.31. Did you meant that parameter I am mentioning above or we will really get sync java-only messages to overview?
    Best Regards,

  • Archive synchronous messages

    Hello Experts,
As successfully processed synchronous messages cannot be archived in PI and I have gone through the various documents and threads(mentioned below) in SDN which  also confirm  this point.
XI: synchronous messages can be archived?
Can synchronous messages (EO) be archived in XI?
But if the requirement is to archive the successfully processed synchronous messages, what can be the other possible ways and what are the points needs to be considered for performance.Kindly suggest me the best and easy way of doing this.
Also ,as we can persist synchronous error and without error messages awaiting deletion for some time by specifying RETENTION PERIOD using SXMB_ADM but what should be the appropriate values for this retention period keeping performance in view and how can we decide these values. My scenario is RFC-SOAP.
    Kind Regards,
    Kubra.

    Hi Kubra,
Actually sync messages can't be archived. According to the note #872388, there's no archiving parameters for SYNC messages. See:
"Per default only asynchronous messages (EO and EOIO) will be persisted on the ABAP and Java side. Synchronous messages (Best Effort) will only be persisted if an error occurs during processing or if the parameter LOGGING_SYNC (ABAP only) is set. Setting LOGGING_SYNC is not recommended to reduce processing overhead. Note: Also on applications systems
connected to XI via ABAP proxies the messages will get persisted and archiving/deletion has to be configured. Performance data on the other hand are persisted for both, synchronous and asynchronous, messages (tables SXMSPFRAWH)."
Also for your reference on this question:
    "Archiving Sync Interfaces
"Can synchronous messages (EO) be archived in XI? (you mentioned this already too)
    Hope that answers your queries

  • Is there any way to disable the use of the "Delete" key to delete an email message?

It's very frustrating when I hit the delete key and iCloud automatically erases the selected email message.  I receive some HTML formatted emails that include a text box that I can utilize to directly reply to something.  If I don't make any mistakes at all, I can utilize this box and post a reply.  But if I mess up and need to delete text, instead of deleting text iCloud deletes the email message.  Is there any way to disable this?
    Thanks for your help.

I don't believe it's possible to disable the delete key, but could be wrong. However, if you delete an email in error, you can restore it by pressing cmd + Z to undo the deletion.
