Selective trust reference material (CXO/management level)

I tried a basic search.
Just wondering if anyone knows of any good AD material that might contrast an external (non-transitive) trust with and without selective authentication enabled.
I'm looking for some ideas on how to present this to management-level executives so diagrams/pictures would be preferred.

Hi,

Based on the description, the following two articles can be referred to as reference.

  • Create material from reference material for all org.levels

    Hi,
i want to create a material from a reference material with all MARA, MAKT, MARC, MBEW, MARD, MARM, MVKE, MLAN, MLGN and MLGT content for all organizational levels of the reference material.
For instance, my reference material has 200 MARC entries. All these entries should also be created for the new material.
Transaction MM01 will copy from reference but only for 1 organizational level. To create 200 plants manually with MM01 is not an option.
I have to develop a copy from reference transaction, where i select the new material number, the reference material number and the required tables (MARA, MAKT, etc)
I can read the current tablevalues and insert new entries into the required SAP standard tables, but that is not nice.
Is there another option to do the job ?
I know there are bapi's, but these are related to one org.level. For 200 plants, i have to execute 200 bapi to get the data from the reference material and another 200 bapi's to create the new material.
    with kind regards,
    Hans

    Hi Goutam,
You can use the BAPI BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA, which will create/update the material. You can pass the reference material in the filed BAPI_MARA-PL_REF_MAT. And you can pass reference material for all view like this.

  • Changing Batch Management Level from Material to Plant

    Hi all,
We are investigating changing our batch management level from material to plant to meet business requirements.
SAP has pointed us to a note with a program to reset the batch level, as well as highlighting some things to look out for.
I've conducted the change in a playpen system and so far it looks relatively straightforward, with complexities arising only when characteristics exist, or when a batch exists in multiple plants.
Seems that batch master data is moved from MCH1 to MCHA, including the object link number to classification. Unfortunately it seems a limitation of the conversion is that the batch master data is copied to ONE plant only in MCHA, no doubt due to the fact the object number link to classification must be unique.
My question is this: has anyone performed this change before, and if so can you offer me any advice on what to look out for, or potential problems that arose after the change?
Any help or comments are appreciated.
    Mark.

    hi..
first of all try this simple one...
You will have to delete all the materials, remove stock and then switch the batch management flag.
    Or
To convert the batch from plant level to material there is Conversion Program defind by the SAP...
    1. For all releases lower than Release 4.5B, implement the corrections and the modification in the report RM07CHDX as described in the correction instructions.
    2. Create the report ZCHTCUCH, which is specified in the attachment.
    3. Run this report in the clients for which you want to reset batch level to plant level.
    4. Call transaction OMCT.
    5. Check whether the batch level for "Batch unique at plant level" is set.
    6. Implement Notes 821891, 944278, 950540 and 1091613 if you have not already done so (or you have not imported the corresponding Support Package).
    7. Execute the function "Batch Level -> Conversion".
    8. Define a plant for a plant view that may be missing.
    9. Always execute the report in the test mode first. Analyze the error log.
    10. If no errors occur, you can execute the report in production mode.
    11. If you are working with batch long texts, first execute the report ZM07CHDX_TEXT in test mode.
    try this out..hope is works,,
    Thanks..

  • Block the Material at Item level in Sales Order automatically for delivery

    Hi!
My business scenario needs a material to be Ckecked for Inspection after raising the Sales Order by thirdparty person. So, I need to block that particular material at Item level automatically for delivery and rest of the line items can get delivered. I can do this by selecting the reason for Block at Item level manually, but I want the system to get detemine this block. And one more thing is that there is NO Quality Management module for this. So, let me know what I need to configure for this effect.   Thank you.....

    hi,
pl check the user exit " userexit_save_document_prepare" or "userexit_save_document".
Take the help of your abaper to see if the logic written here can affect the item level block in the sales order for inspection. Create new reason for the item level block and have it triggered with this exit. Instead of hard coding which might require regular intervention of abaper for code changes for the business to be able to manage it, maintain a master data in the material master against some field with a key.
now use that key to identify if these materials require to be blocked at the sales order level for inspection. To release this item again the user has to go in VA02 mode to release the block. Let this be done after the inspection of that material.

  • HT5868 Suddenly, with iTunes 11.1.4, selecting "Trust" causes the iPhone to be disconnected (Win7, iPhone 5S on latest iOS).

Suddenly, with iTunes 11.1.4, my iPhone 5S (iOS 7.0.4) disconnects from my Win7 PC when I select "Trust."  When I plug it in I can hear the tone of a device being plugged in, but when I select "Trust" (haven't seen this dialog box...ever?) I hear the tone of a device being disconnected.  This happens whether iTunes is running or not.
Sync is only possible over wi-fi right now, and is not complete.  Has anyone found this same/similar error and have a solution for it?  Resetting settings on the phone does not help (except waste half an hour getting things back the way I had them), all of the services in Win7 are loaded and started as specified.
    Help greatly appreciated.

The solution was embedded in Apple's support page.  With the device plugged in, find it SOMEWHERE in the device list in device manager (look in cameras, USB devices, etc), and right click and update the driver.  Tell it to let you install it, select "Have Disk," then navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers and select usbaapl64 (if you are running 32b Windows the "64" may not be there).

  • Ignificance of the Industry Sector selection in the Material Master

    hi all,
We need information on the significance of the Industry Sector selection in the Material Master field. I understand that it can influence field selection and the screen sequence of the material master record.  We are particularly interested to know the influence of the industry sector u201CPharmaceutical Industryu201D .
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
    Please check follwoing links
    [MM01- Industry  Sector;
    1. Define Industry Sectors and Industry-Sector-Specific Field Selection (transaction OMS3) -> assign a field reference to field selection
    2. Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens (transaction OMS9) -> define a specific field selection for a field selection group (for example, depending on industry sector (the field reference appears on the lower table control).
Like the material type, the industry sector also has a control function. When you create a material master record, the industry sector determines:
Which screens appear and in which order
Which industry-specific fields appear on each screen
The industry sector you assign to a material cannot subsequently be changed. In Customizing, you can define new industry sectors and maintain the field reference for field selection control according to your enterprise-specific requirements.
Most data in the material master record can be maintained directly by the user. But some information is automatically updated by the system. When you enter goods movements, for example, the system updates the stock and consumption data. Statistical information, such as the date of original creation and that of the last change, can be invoked with , with the quick-info text Information on material.
Some data in the material master is used for information purposes only, for example, description, size, and dimensions. Other material data has a controlling function in an application. For example, the MRP type controls the MRP procedure and the price control indicator determines which material valuation procedure is used

  • Differentiate material at plant level

    Hi,
I want to differentiate material at plant level.
Example I have a material 3335 in plant 1000 and 1100 but in plant 1000 this material is spare part and in plant 1100 this material is main part so I have to maintain this data at plant level.
I tried to enter this data in plant data tab in material master but it will grey out after I save material master for one plant and when I try to extend the material to another plant it will not allow to change.
I want to know a field where I can maintain this data.
    Thanks and Regards
    Pavan

you cannot have one material number with several material types.
the material type is even above the material number level, as you assign material number ranges to a group of material types.
You either have to create 2 materials, or one plant has to live with the "wrong" material type name.
More important than the name of material type are the attributes of a material type. As they define what views can be used, what fields will be mandatory or optional....
You will rarely find a transaction in SAP that uses the material type for selection or does show the material type in reports.
So dont build to much logic into the naming.
If you need to seperate spare part from main part n the GL accounts, then you can allow and assign a different valuation class.

If the former, you ideally want the local Oracle db to send the join to the remote database, and for the remote database to drive the join between those 2 tables. There is a hint (<i>driving_site</i>) that can be used - or the join query can be defined on the remote database as a view, and the local materialised view can then use that remote view.
If you have 2 different db links and joining across these - usually a bad idea to perform distributed database joins. There are lots of limitations as to how the tables can be joined. Worse case, full table scans of both remote tables, pulling all the rows from the 2 remote database tables to the local database, and joining these on the local database.
I have seen some severe performance issues in the past as a result of distributed joins. I'll rather use 2 materialised views for pulling both distributed tables's data locally, and then do the join on local data (using indexes, partition pruning, etc)Hi Billy,
My scenario is i have two database database A and database B. Database A is having two schema's SCOTT AND HR. SCOTT schema have select privileges on HR schema.
DB LINK is between Database B to Database A. name is db.link.B.A.oracle.com.
What if i priovide while creating materialized view, the schema name before the table name in database B for this particuler table so it will pick up the table from that schema using same DB LINK(db.link.B.A.oracle.com.) that i am using to fetch records from SCOTT schema.
Above schnario is like two base schema's and one db link using two schema.

  • Report on Vendor selection according to material group

  • Synchronizing Material Master revision level across multiple plants

    Hello,
If an organization uses material master revision level to maintain the details of material's validity across different plants then we see a material master with different revisions in that organization. Now I  would like to understand the impact of this practice in big organizations , is it advisable to have a material master with different revisions in different plants? , if not then which is the best way to synchronize these material masters ( with different revision level ), which are already in use?

    Hello Ulf,
Thanks for your reply, the actual issue is..
There are two companies; both are using the same material.
We are building a central system and synchronizing the materials from all companies.
While synchronization, we found that revision level are different across companies.
    1.      Should we avoid using revision level in our organization?
    2.      If I can find the validity of a material with change no + material + plant, then what is the purpose
             of the revision level?
    3.     What will be the impact, if we remove the entire revision level across all companies?
    4.     In real world, across different organizations, how revision level is synchronized across companies or at least in the central system.
Please let me know your valuable inputs.
    Thanks
