Selectively lifting parameters

According to the Aperture tutorial for the Lift&Stamp tool here http://www.apple.com/aperture/whatisaperture/ it says you can choose to selectively lift only certain parameters by deleting the ones you don't want to lift. I don't mean by way of the checkboxes, but for certain modifications under the "Adjustments" category. For example, the tutorial implies that I can lift an exposure and white balance adjustment from an image, but I can choose to not lift a crop adjustment applied to that same image.
By following the tutorial, and selecting that particular adjustment and hitting "delete" I get the system error beep, and not the desired behavior as depicted in the tutorial. I am using Aperture 2.1.4. What am I doing wrong?

Apparently after quitting and restarting Aperture the problem I was having went away. I started to notice weird behavior when a 3-star rated photo was not appearing in a smart album for photos 3-stars or better. When I quit and restarted Aperture the photo appeared properly, and I was subsequently able to delete adjustments from the lift tool. Thanks for the replies

Selection Screen Parameters in SQL statements

Very new ABAP programmer here, so sorry if this is a really dumb question.
I'm trying to use my selection screen parameters to limit what is pulled in by my SQL statement (which seems to me to be a very logical thing to do). But I'm having a problem, that when no values are entered in the parameters, no data is returned in the table instead of all the data being returned.
Here is the code I have now:

When you use parameters and no value is entered, it is treated as initial value. and the select statement looks for the initial values for those fields in the tabl;e...
you can make the parameters mandatory..then the user would be forced to enter something....
also you could do the following..
instead of parameters, use select-options with the addition no intervals and no extension, then practically it looks like a parameter but internally it is a select-option...
and in the select statement, give conditions like....field1 in <s_option name>....in this case if the user is not entering a value ...it is treated as *...

How to clear all selection screen parameters before calling transaction?

 I have a ABAP report that displays data using ALV.
When I double click a cell it calls transaction MB51. Before calling the transaction I need to set some parameters of the selection screen of the transaction.
My code is like below:

The problem is:
<UL> <LI> 1. First, I run the given transaction before running the report in a separate session with some set of values in the selection screen. For example: plant = AB01, Material = 990001 and Batch = 10001.</LI>

 <LI> 2. Then in another session I run my report. In the report ALV I have selected a record where plant = AB01, Material = 990001 but Batch is blank. But it opens the transaction with plant = AB01, Material = 990001 and Batch = 10001.
Even though in my ALV record the batch is blank yet it uses the batch value from the memory. That is, the batch value that was given in the transaction earlier. Why it is not getting cleared? I have also used FREE MEMORY ID code in the beginning. But still it is not clearing the values in the memory.

Its because sap memory is globally shared.
Do it like this.

How to restrict or stop the same data provided in selection screen parameters its should stop fetch the data on previously provided data?

i have issues that i need stop or restrict the same entries provided in the selection screen parameters it should no display that data but it should give an alert message by saying the data all ready viewed or displayed.
example: organisation :getha pvt.td.
              name :ramesh.
              start date:10.2.2013.
these are parameter which has been displayed by clicking execute ,if provide the same value to display again it should give waring message.
Please guide me in solve the problem.

Automatically refresh the report tabs after selecting the parameters in bip

Hello Everything!!
Is there a way to automatically refresh all the report tabs once we select the parameters? The report are not refreshed automatically in each tab and users have to either hit apply button or refresh button for each report tab . Is this a lacking feature in BI publisher. I am using 11.1.1.6.6.

What is the diff b/n Selection Criteria & Parameters in Infoset?

Hi All,
I would like to know what is the difference between Selection Criteria & Parameters which is available in Selections Tab of the Infoset. At the moment i am able to assign values on selection screen by defining the field as Selection Criteria or as Parameter, so not very clear on the difference.

You can use the declarative language elements PARAMETERS and SELECT-OPTIONS to generate a default selection screen (screen 1000) with input-ready fields.
In addition to the default selection screen, you can generate additional selection screens with SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN .... and call them with CALL SELECTION-SCREEN.
You can create variants of a selection screen. A variant is a user-specific selection variant. You would create a screen variant if you frequently start a program with the same selection variants or start in background processing.
The PARAMETERS statement is a declarative language element. As in the case of the DATA statement, you can declare the fields with TYPE or LIKE. The system generates input-ready fields in the selection screen. The names of PARAMETERS fields can be up to 8 characters long. You can maintain selection texts (parameter names) with the function Text elements/Selection texts.
You can set a default value with the DEFAULT addition. If you assign a MEMORY ID , the system uses SAP Memory and the SET/GET parameter to set the default value. If you declare mandatory fields with the OBLIGATORY addition, users cannot leave the selection screen until values have been entered in these fields.
You can also define parameters as checkboxes (AS CHECKBOX). Doing so creates a one-character field that can contain a " "(SPACE) or an "X". You can evaluate the contents of checkboxes using IF/ENDIF control structures.

I need help on selection screen parameters.
requirement is that,
i am having input fields for material, plant ,start date and end date and a check box and an input field for getting the txt file.
when i select the checkbox, it should ignore the mandatory fileds in the selection screen.
and when i get the file input, it should take the input data material, plant, start date and end date from the flat file and populate the corresponding input fields in selection screen.
How to do this..

While declare the Matnr, Plant etc dont use the OBLIGATORY addition.
instead of the based on the value of check box validate them .
AT SELECTION-SCREEN.

Auto-populating the selection screen parameters for web report

hello
i am having a scenario where my web report is a link to another internet application (a BSP application) and it is called by clicking some link or button on the BSP page.
can i pass the selection values for BW Web report directly from BSP application through a query string or by setting some cookie values so that the user will directly view the report on click of that link?

Submit program with selection screen parameters - getting blank values

Hi, I'm submitting a program with selection screen parameters. when I pass '000' (I_TPLSCN )value for Planning Scenario and when this goes to selection screen then I don't see value for Planning scenario as '000'(I_TPLSCN ) but the value is blank in selection screen. I'm using the below code for this.
SUBMIT RMCPAMRP WITH MATNR_GL EQ I_MATNR   SIGN 'I'
                  WITH WERKS_GL EQ I_WERKS   SIGN 'I'
                  WITH PLSCN    EQ I_TPLSCN SIGN 'I'

Could anyone please help me how to display value '000' rather than blanks.

Reset selection screen parameters.

Hi,
I enter values in parameters on screen and generte output(add values to table/view report). After I return to originial screen, the fields should be reset to initial empty status.
How do I do that.

U Clear the Selection Screen Parameters in At Selection Screen event, before clearing the value pass the Parameter value to some global variable for further use.
eg:
PARAMETERS : p_matnr TYPE matnr.
DATA : gv_matnr TYPE matnr.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN.
gv_matnr = p_matnr. "Passing the P_matnr value to global variable gv_matnr
CLEAR : p_matnr.
START-OF-SELECTION.
WRITE : gv_matnr.

Get selection screen parameters from sap query

Hello. I use SAP Query Reporting, so I added a report assignment for detailing (sq01 -> Change button -> Goto -> Report Assignment -> Insert row -> Other type row -> Abap Report Program)
and put there ABAP program.
When I run query and press CtrlShiftF1 (or double click) It calls my abap program.
So the question is: how to get selection screen parameters in my program ?
to be more precise I want to get date parameter (begda, endda)

There is a Z query which I can see in sq01. I set reporting period and run the query; when I run it, it gives me the employee list.
So I wrote the abap report to get an employee details, customized query as I mentioned above.
The query calls my report and I need to get parameters.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK frm1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
PARAMETER : p_pernr LIKE p0001-pernr OBLIGATORY MATCHCODE OBJECT prem.
PARAMETER : p_date LIKE sy-datum.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK frm1.
Parameter
p_pernr
passes normal. ALV Query contains it, but I'd like to get one more parameter from selection screen of the query and don't know how to get it.

This you do in the menu where you can find text-elements, selection texts.
menu Goto->text elements->selection texts.

Passing select-options parameters type to the class

I am creating one class and I want to pass the select-options parameters directly to it like s_plant,s_mtart etc .
So while specifying these as paramters what type I should give them?

Whatever you finally decide upon, you must have a Data Dictionary definition. So either create one for each type (bukrs, vkorg, etc.) or use a general one like RSELOPTION. However with the general one you have to put extra code in the class to convert back from a CHAR 45 field to your special field.
Anyway, using the Data Dictionary is fun! So go create as many new tables as you need. In the long term, the work you do in the Data Dictionary is never wasted and it may save you time in the future when you need that structure / table again for a different program.
Creating these structures and tables is easy if you use shortcuts. For example in local definitions in your program you can code...
data range1 type range of bukrs.
or
data wa_bukrs type bukrs.
ranges range1 for wa_bukrs.
either of these gives you the structure... no need to manually type sign, option, low, high...
What about Global (data dictionary) definitions? yes, there are also shortcuts...
start transaction SE11, enter range table name in the 'Data' field (e.g. ZMYRANGETAB), Hit Create, choose to create a Table Type... now you are on the blank new Maintain Table Type screen. enter a short text for your new table, then choose
Edit->Define as ranges table type
next enter your data element (e.g. BUKRS) under 'data element', hit Save and activate. You just created your range table without manually entering sign, option, low, high...
But wait there's more... on the same screen you can now (after saving the range table) also enter a structure name such as ZMYRANGE in the field 'structured row type'. Hit Create and you are taken to the Maintain Structure screen where the sign, option, low and high are already populated... add a short description and save and activate... you just created a workarea for your range table.
You just created a table type ZMYRANGETAB and a structure ZMYRANGE with minimal effort.
