Self-closing an open question

How can I mark a question as answered when I've managed to determine the solution myself and posted it as a reply to my own question? I marked the "My Question is Answered" checkbox, but it was ignored when I submitted my reply. (I am the only one to have posted to the thread).

If you give the link to that thread, I can post an "Already answered" message, and the you can use that to declare the question as answered. Too simple to be true?

Overcoming a challenge: combining UI Shell dirty tab + self-closing-BTFs

I'm finding it difficult to utilise facilities of the ADF UI Shell from self-closing-standalone bounded task flow.
What the ADF UI Shell does well: from the UI Shell you can open a standalone BTF as an activity, and if the BTF closes itself (ie. given the user selects a ok or cancel/close button, the the standalone BTF navigates to a Task-Flow-Return option), the BTF closes and the ADF UI Shell correctly closes the tab around the activity.
My challenge is I want to add the ADF UI Shell's "dirty tab" facility to the BTF, such that if the user inside the BTF selects a custom cancel/close button (not the UI Shell close button for tabs) that navigates to the Task-Flow-Return option within the BTF, they get a chance to confirm/cancel the close via the ADF UI Shell dirty tab popup. (Note that the Task-Flow-Return options are critical to self-closing BTFs as they not only give the BTF the chance to commit/rollback, as well as make them re-entrant, or play with the savepoint features.)
If from the ADF UI Shell shellLauncher bean we call makeCurrentTabDirty method on opening the BTF, the BTF's activity tab is italicized correctly. Yet if the user selects the BTF's cancel button, the BTF closes (it actually disappears from the ADF UI Shell) but the UI Shell activity tab is still visible, then the dirty tab dialog shows, which is too late, the BTF has closed already.
So my solution at this point is on the BTF close button being pressed, before it navigates to the BTF Task-Flow-Return option, I can get the ActionListener of the BTF close button to raise a Contextual Event to the ADF UI Shell to capture the "Close Event" occurring. The UI Shell then has a chance to show the dirty tab dialog by capturing the Contextual Event.
My sticking point then is the TabContext class provided in the UI Shell has no way to invoke the dirty tab dialog without calling the removeTab method. It's not desirable for the UI Shell to close the BTF as the BTF's Task-Flow-Return activities must still be called.... remembering they have additional functionality that is required for the BTF.
Even if the TabContext method did have a solution for displaying the dirty tab dialog without closing the tab (TabContext is easy enough to extend yourself if you have the source code), the problem to which I can't think of a solution is, how to get the dirty tab dialog to communicate the result (yes/no) back to the standalone BTF such that it can make a decision about aborting the close action and leaving the user on the current page fragment, or navigating to the Task-Flow-Return node?
It might be suggested I could expose the dirty tab dialog to the standalone BTF such that it could show the confirm dialog itself. However the point being is the BTF is standalone, and should not have any knowledge of where it's being used, in the UI Shell or some other application supershell. Publishing the intent to close the BTF via a contextual event seems fine, but alternatively loading in components from the UI Shell seems to break the standalone I-don't-know-or-care-about-what-my-parent-caller-is-doing BTF principle seems on the border of wrong.
Anybody any pointers, suggestions, or comments like you're-an-idiot-Chris,-do-it-this-way? Your help appreciated.

GL balances differences between Year end closing and opening balances

Hi friends,
One GL account balances showing differences between year end closing & year opening balances.
Example: 2006 closing balance is 250000 $
2007 opening balance is 150000 $
difference is 100000 $ . why should coming like this. already completed balances carryforward (F.16) in 2006 & 2007 year.
any programe for this solution ?
One more point is just 2 days back i posted 2 entries for 2006 year equal to 100000 $ . after this entries shall we need go for F.16 (carry forwarded balances).

HI,
There shouldn't be any more postings to a GL Account once Balance carry forward has been executed.
If postings have been made then you should execute the Balance carry forward again, otherwise you will see difference in opening and closing GL balance (as mentioned by you).

Zoom in so you can clearly see the ends of the two paths you
want to
join. Use the Subselection tool to drag the ends together.
You'll see a

I have FCE 4.0.1 and running OS x 10.7.5 when i burn my movie the audio from my movie clips don't come through . My Sound effects and music can be heard. I export to Quicktime movie, make it self contained then open IDVD for an intro and burn it.

Go to the open items list under sales or purchasing reports, select PO's on the top right and then highlight all the PO's you want to close. Then right click on the grey area on top of the report and select close. This will close all at once.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

It depends a bit on your definition of closed.
When is your PO closed ? after full goods receipt, after invoice receipt, after 2 years, after having done the payment , after having set a deletion indicator?
ME2M allows to list only POs with open GR if you use selection parameter WE101.
If you use selection parameter RECHNUNG you get all POs with a missing invoice.
Using R-ERLEDIGT will show you all POs having an invoice, but if you dont use GRbasedIV you have to check if you still have open GRs, if you use GRbasedIV then you can be certain that it is closed (even you dont know if there will still come invoices for unplanned costs)

Setting node value of self closed tags

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to this problem, I'm new to this level of java programming and I've been reading documentation till my eyes have started bleeding. When I use the setNodeValue() function on an element, it works fine UNLESS the node is self closed, in which case i cannot access it as it comes up as null. If anyone can give a sample code, or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it

by "it" i mean the node itself, and by "comes up as", i mean that the value of the node (and data type apparently) is null. Here is the code snippet that i currently have;

I realize that there is nothing wrong with xmnl being formatted in this way, I just need to find a way to set values in those nodes. From reading the documentation on setNodeValue() ( [http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/org/w3c/dom/Node.html#setNodeValue(java.lang.String)|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/org/w3c/dom/Node.html#setNodeValue(java.lang.String)] ), the function cannot be used on a node that is of type null. What I'm trying to figure out is what to use instead yo be able to set the values of those "null" nodes.

When you say 'open loop' and 'closed loop', are you referring to running the application in position and torque mode? If not, how exactly are your controlling a servo motor in open loop?
In closed loop mode, the encoder values will be used as reference and the motion VIs can be used to configure the software limit as required. Are you currently losing the software limits? If so, how exactly are you losing these values? I am not sure I understood what exactly is happening with software limits in your program, so any more information on this would be useful.

Self closing tags appearing in xquery

I am working on a migration project where the weblogic is getting migrated from weblogic 8 to 10.x
my application uses xquery and when upgraded to higher version i can see some self closing tags getting created in the transformed xml which is not the case with 8.1.
for example:
I have given a simple declaration as below
let $a := <find an attribute value>
return
<abc:value>{$a}</abc:value>
if the "find an attribute value" returns null then in weblogic 8 the node will not be sent in transformed xml but in weblogic10.x it is parsing the node as self closing one like <abc:value/>
Is this an issue with migration? I know that the xquery upgraded to 2004 and I did took care of that part.

So workaround for me in this case would be? as i have number of direct mappings happening in my code of 8.1 and definitely I can't keep an if else block to make it work.
Well, as you've been relying on a bug then I guess you now have to correct your code.
I don't see how you can do it without using a conditional block.
