Self installing Apps.... At Lenovo S90u custom ROM

Hey guys...
I can tell that Lenovo mobile topics are not a "hot topic" yet inn this forum... But I hope that will change...
I was thinking if anyone could help me on my latest issue...
I installed the custom rom which I got from "NEEDROM" and the version I installed on my Lenovo sisly S90 is the following
ROM: ROM 2 – VIBEUI_V2.0_1504_5.14.1_ST_S90-u
Since than every freaking morning when I wake up and I change my settings from Airplane mode back to normal I get the following installation hint... The apps, trying to install are called:
- Hot Girls
- Caller ID
- 2048
- Flashlight
My anti-virus is not flagging anything either.... And I just have no idea where this stuff originates from.
If anybody could help me on that issue would be fantastic.

Had loaded s130 scatter and unable to get to Rooting Menu (blue font), it just flashes for 1/2 second and blackout itself. tried repeatedly but to no avail. thereafter found a s139 image and it worked.
before rooting, if you check the version on your A820, mine read as S130 and was worried might brick device.
must have tried 20 times before gunning the s139 download. all working now.

You will have to root your phone,install custom recovery and then flash gapps. You can still change the language to english though

Ok,when you installed the custom ROM you also changed the Stock Recovery whit a Custom Recovery (TWRP).That's why OTA doesn't work. How to use clockwordmode on st15i to install custom ROm like CM10 JB?

I have rooted my phone alreasy and its on stock ROM & kernel. Now I want to use CM10 JB for ny device for that I should have to use clockword but it doesn't support my device. While the threadd for installing the JB is telling that I have to install it for to be ble to use the JB. But I have downloaded the adb shell for CWM and install it on device through laptop and then downloaded the ROM manger form the play store, Rom manger is finding the CWM but it says that it soen't support my device. I can't backup current kernel and ROM. I just want to know how can I use it on my device to use custom ROM. Also if any one can (specially moderator @nabeel) upload the custom ROM to 4shared.com I'll highly thankful to you all.

K1 custom ROMs Broken Apps (Sygic)

I have flashed my K1 twice; first with the "official" ICS released by Mark Lenovo later with the JB AOSP provided by khanning. I still haven't reinstalled everything I had under the original Honeycomb so I don't know if anything else is broken but one app which definitely is is the GPS program Sygic. I received a reply from their tech support stating that they don't support custom ROMS so having paid for the full version of the app I'm a little disappointed as I was quite impressed by Sygic under HC.
Question I am now facing is whether to try to search for a "fix" for this problem. I would prefer a solution that would let me continue to enjoy JellyBean however, I might consider rolling back to ICS the official download from Lenovo if I were confident that Sygic would work with that ROM.
Has anyone had any positive experience with this app under ICS or JB?

[Q] Xperia ray rooting, installing custom ROM procedure

Hey! Guys,
I wanted to know what are the steps to follow in-order to install a custom ROM on my xperia ray. I've read few tutorial but still I've got some questions to clarify. Just tell me whether below steps are correct.
First root the device
Unlock the boot loader
Flash a custom ROM
And if I'm installing a custom ROM on to my device I want to achieve below point too.
Want a complete back up with SMS/MMS, Apps ..etc (can be acheived via some back-up apps)
Want to take a complete copy of my current stock firmware (as a ftf file), may move back to stock
Any else, that I should follow which I missed here ...
I'm still curious about this.. Please advise me if I missed anything here since I'm a newbie when it comes to android rooting, flashing stuffs..

A1 - Lenovo App Store doesn't list installed apps or possible updates

This may be because of my inexperience with the Lenovo App Store, but whenever I start the Store app, I get an empty list of current and available apps. I did download and install Firefox cleanly, but no other installed apps are shown by the Lenovo Store app. I expected to find a list of pre-installed apps with potential updates to many of them. Am I missing something?

Yes, but you can't uninstall the pre-loaded apps unless you root the tablet. You can uninstall updates, but not the base app. I have not rooted my A1 and have no plans to do so. I am content with it the way it is. BTW I have a total of 166 aps with no problems. I would suggest you install anti-virus software (any of the free ones are OK), and look into a replacement launcher (I use GO). I suggest that if it sounds interesting, install it. You can always uninstall with no problem. I have moved any apps possible to the internal SD card. Can't install on the external card without rooting. I think that the A1 is the best sub $200 tablet out there.

Instal windows 8.1 with CD-rom on new lenovo ideapad flex

Hi,
we are struggling to start to use our new computer : lenovo ideapad flex 14. We got it without windows 8.1 installed and got therefore a CD-rom for installing windows 8.1.
We dont want to USB key and are willing to install windows via external cd drive connected through USB plugs. is it possible and how?

Lenovo X2-EU rom for Lenovo X2-CU phone?

Hello to all,
I have bought Lenovo X2-CU phone (dual-sim) and was wondering two things:
1. Is the Lenovo X2-EU rom for dual sim phone? And if yes, could it be flashed in the X2-CU phone?
2. Why isn't the lenovo suite capable of contact sync with outlook on pc directly. (Correct me if it is, but I haven't found a way..)
3. Is there a way to have the theme center in English language? I only get Chinese..

I have the same problems, more or less. I don't know how usefull that will be, but heres what i found out.
1. About the EU rom, yes you could flash it but it's single sim only. You can check more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lenovo-vibe-x2-t2897967
2. Regarding this, I can't say any thing, have not even try it.
3. The "theme center" is a root app and you eather have to flash a diferent ROM or you have to root your phone, delete the app and install a flashable zip with the RAW apk for the EU version of the app. To my knowage such still can not be found. Creative Cloud fails to see installed apps

I have installed Creative Cloud in a non-standard way. I install the applications on a separate drive from the operating system (and indeed where Adobe insists that Creative Cloud installs itself), this is done for all of my applications as it means that, usually, a re-install of the operating system for whatever reason doesn't require re-downloading and installing everything again.
Recently the C drive failed completely and had to be replaced. All of the CC (2014 versions) applications still exit and can still be launched from the drive they were installed on, but the CC application itself fails to see the installed app's.
I've tried changing the installation folder to the one where they all are; changing the language; signing in and out after each action; and deleting/renaming the file in the OOBE folder.
So, two questions :
Why does CC not have an installation path other than C drive? There is nothing in it that requires it be there.
How do I make CC "see" all of the applications that are already installed? (N.B. deleting the folders and re-downloading isn't a solution, it's a work-around that is clumsy and stupid, putting the entire onus on the customer)
Finally, am I the only one who finds the CC launcher to be the biggest PITA of the new version of CS? Every other version I've used worked and updated faultlessly, the latest version just seems to be an absolute mess.

The install info is stored in the opm.db and caps.db files and those went down the drain with your system drive. There is no way to restore it without reinstalling. The rest is not worth debating. Things just are as they are.

Installed apps have disappeard from CC Desktop app

I've run into some trouble with the last CC Desktop app update (thanks a lot Adobe) and have been attempting to trouble-shoot the issue. One part of this exercise has involved me uninstalling and then re-installing the CC Desktop app. In doing so, it has apparently lost track of the fact that I have four Adobe apps installed - it now lists just the one. I've tried logging out and back in again and also junking the OOBE folder to force it to rebuild my user preference & cache: no dice. I'm on Win7 x64.
Any suggestions on how to get my installed apps to re-appear in the CC app? Starting to wonder if re-installing them is the only way, but it seems overkill to have to do so.
Alternatively: just how useful is this CC desktop app really? I can use the Adobe apps without it, and can access the cloud storage via my browser. Do I really need this bug ridden application running in Windows all the time? Anyone getting by withoth it?

Some ONTs not capable of self install?

Hello All,
Current FIOS customer - and moving to an apartment four blocks away where the previous tenant had FIOS. Scheduled the move as soon as I signed the lease, so a tech will visit on 9/10.
Our FIOS is ***CRUCIAL*** to our existence - cell phone service here is spotty (town won't approve new towers) and the wife and I work from the house.
I finally got a hold of someone in support today, who checked with their manager, and it took an hour - but they came back and said that the ONT in the new address "cannot be activated" through the self install process. I did not want to give up the 9/10 date until I verified that a self install was possible - if I give up that date, they told me October was the next available slot.
Do I have any options at all? They are trying to move the date forward, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd pay for some kind of expedited service. I would visit a local office if I thought it would help at all. I could live without for 1-4 days but 10 days?!??!
Does this make any sense that some ONTs can be self-installed and others cannot?

Self-installing script?

Hello all,
I am currently working on an InDesign script (CS3 for now, my employer has been promising CS5 for months but never delivers) which a client presumably will be deploying across many different offices with varying computer skills. In order to make this process as painless as possible, I'd like for the script to be self-installing; Double-click the script in Finder/Explorer and (after prompting the user for confirmation) it'll move itself to the Scripts Panel folder and supporting files to suitable locations.
Now the problem is I cannot seem to figure out how to get the file path to a script which was executed by opening directly from Finder. The usual methods do not work, app.activeScript fails for obvious reasons while try{}catch(error){error.fileName} and $.fileName both returns "indesign-5.0-en_us:bridgetalk" rather than the original JSX file path. Anyone know of a solution?
Here is the simplest of test cases. Save as a JSX file and see how the results differ depending on whether you opened the file from the Finder (or Windows Explorer) or ran it in ESTK or from the InDesign scripts panel.

The best I can come up with is a workaround; Embed support files into the script as binary strings (which I'd like to avoid if possible) and access the script itself through error.source which is then written out to a File object. Or simply reveal the correct location through app.scriptPreferences.scriptsFolder.execute() and then prompt the user to manually move the files there, but that kind of defeats the purpose of automation!

Since there didn't seem to be a perfect solution to this problem, I ended up embedding the support files into the script itself as strings. To deal with ballooning file size I wrote a simple compression algorithm using run-length encoding and an XOR transform. Yeah, I know people have already implemented ZIP and whatnot in JavaScript, but it was more fun to do it myself and decompression requires only a single line of code encased in a for-loop.
The script can now install itself if double-clicked from the Finder/Explorer, support files are decompressed into temporary storage when they're needed and removed automatically when the ScriptUI interface is closed. Quite a nice implementation if I do get to say so myself!
