Self Registration for UME using LDAP as the datasource

Hi,
Am I able to config the self registration when my UME is mapped to LDAP datasource? If yes, how am I going to do this as I'm not able to find the ume.logon.selfreg=TRUE.

Hi,
Isn't this option there in /useradmin ? Go to http://hostname:port/useradmin and click on Configuration. Go to the tab User Admin UI and there select the option for enabling self-registration.
Also, should be available in configtool under the core ume service.

With iMessage, it is meant to show up on all your iOS devices and Mac. If you do not want them to go across all your devices, then you will need to turn off iMessage on your iPad and Mac Pro.

Designer takes several minutes for login using LDAP authentication

We have a issue, when we tried to login to the designer using LDAP authentication it takes several minutes and using enterprise account we are able to login to the designer with in seconds.
CMC and infoview all are working fine using LDAP authentication.
We are using BOXIR2,
FP 1.6.

There have been several changes in LDAP since FP 1.6 but if infoview is ok then hopefully you aren't running into any of them. When logging into client tools the LDAP requests are sent to the LDAP server directly from the client. An issue like this would suggest there is a problem reaching the LDAP server from the client.
Is LDAP SSL being used? If yes try disabling it, if no then you can packet scan the logon attempt on the client and filter the LDAP traffic to see how long it's taking for that communication.

Can Self-Registration be enabled using ipsadmin?

The iwtAuth-Menu defines a list of the auth menu's selected ..
The attribute would like below ..

Incremental index for UME ADS LDAP

Hi,
We are currently indexing the users in the "ume" repository in order to use a "Who Is Who" type search and using Active Directory as the data source.
The problem is that when we change an attribute in Active Directory, TREX doesn't pick up the modification when running an incremental index, only after a full reindex. This causes the attributes displayed in the search results to be not up to date. This is a problem if we want to schedule an incremental index every night, for example.
For user resources coming from an LDAP, the property modified is missing. Therefore you have to provide an appropriate mapping from LDAP property to User property in UME configuration xml file (see note 1239132). Otherwise changes of user data won't be recognized and updated in the index.
In order to find changes in the resources the crawler is using several properties. The default value contains "Date" which means that "Modified" property of the resource is checked.
This property for the user recource is retrieved from the UME IUser attribute
{com.sap.security.core.usermanagement} LAST_MODIFIED_BY
we set this LAST_MODIFIED_BY in our xml file (dataSourceConfiguration_ads_readonly_db_mailbox_flat_with_krb5v4.xml)
to <attribute name="LAST_MODIFIED_BY"> <physicalAttribute name="whenchanged"/></attribute>
but the incremental index crawler still doesn't notice that a user attribute has been changed in the LDAP.
are we missing something??

Thanks very much. The only one that seems to be a good match is Ipod Shuffle. There remains, however, one problem. Its corresponding version of Itunes is 4.7.1, and I have 7.4.2. Is it possible to get version 4.7.1 and repopulate it with my songs so that I can use Ipod Shuffle? This would appear to be a real problem.

2.contacts.. when u r in a contact, and u want to copy the contact details say only one data point -emailnid, then in themenu there should be a copy function. Everything else is there -edit etc.. but no copy.

I cant't find the tab for it?

My requirement is If the user type is Employee the user must not go through approval, but if the user type is contractor they must go to some admin user for approval.

If you look at the grants, you'll see that there are over 170 objects from the FLOWS_030000 granted to PUBLIC:

If we were go grant these privileges to a role, called APEX_APP_RU, and grant this role to APEX_PUBLIC_USER and any schemas an application is linked to (Workspace to Schema), would that be a workable solution?
The only problem I see right off hand that this might not work is that PUBLIC has synonyms created for the FLOWS_030000 objects. If we revoke the underlying privileges, because of the synonyms, this might not work.

Yes the Apple ID is the thing that ties your devices to you and shares your information and content between them.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

Self-Registration not working in EP7 SP13

i am using EP7 with SP13, in this i have enabled self registration link in my logon page. When i click on this link it shows registration page, after entering all required information and submit it. Showing message like this
The requested page has been replaced by the new Web Dynpro based administration. Please refer to SAP Note 869852 if you want to use the old administration UI. Click on the following link to access the new administration screen: /useradmin
I followed this SAP Note 869852. they guide us to enable to old UME UIs. then it will work. so develop cant use the new UME WD UIs.
is any other way to fix the issue, doing the self registration in new UME WD UI itself?
please guide me through this..

If switching back to the HTMLB UIs works for you, first I would like to say: Congratulations. No, really, I don't know anybody who really prefers the WD UI.
Nevertheless, I don't see why using the WD UI should stop someone from using the self registration. This /might/ be a bug, misinterpreting the situation, that the UME UI is needed (which is should not after filling in the self registration form). So, you should consider to open an OSS message about it to get a clarification on this. As SAP provides the new UIs as the new standard, I cannot imagine that they wanted to cut of the self registration functionality when using the new standard...

I am getting an error in the Self Registration using OIM 11.1.1.3. and heere is the exception . Any idea what wernt wrong . it seems that oiminternal does not have access to create the request but I checked the oiminternal user roles and he has all the following roles. Did I miss anything here ?

How are you doing self registration? It seems that you are trying to do self registration via some code and you are authenticated when you are trying to. Self registration is for anonymous registration and not authenticated users. Authenticate users are already registered and there is no point in they doing a self registration for themselves.

Customizing self registration

Hi
I have arequirement of customizing the self registration form which appears on clickin the 'register' link on the welcome screen. Can someone please suggest which is a better option to achieve this: through jsp file or through the um configuration on portal. Also, what additional steps are required to be carried to reflect the additional fields on the form (mapping to ldap etc).
