Self-registration with compaines -- Auto approval urgent

Hi,
I would like to automatically approve users who have self-registered themeselves. Is it possible to automatically approve users when they self-register with companies.
Any help / suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Rgds,
Janvi.

Thanks for the reply Michael.
Yes, i have already gone thru company based self registration. But it does not specify the role assignment part :(. What i read was ok ... you register then u get assigned to the portal as guest user and then if approver approves the request the user becomes a COMPANY user. But then when the approver approves the request, does he assign the company related roles to the user? Or can that be coded somewhere?
Please help.

  • Self registration with Approval

    Hi,
I need to understand how this self registration with approval works. What we need in something on these lines
user self registers -> approver approves -> user gets access to portal
Can i create a user without any role assigned the him and when the approver approves, automatically some pre-designated role gets assgined to the user? I want my approver to just click on approve YES and not actually get into UME stuff.
    Please help

    Hi
you cannot do it because when a user self reg  eu_role gets assigned to it and its administrator job to assign the role.if you need to built in any addon functionality you have to change core selfreg.par file use a search at usr directory.this par can give you lot of  ideas how to preassign roles without approval of administrator.also check UM configuration under systemadministration system configuration notification and direct editing tab.

  • WLS 10.3 - Self Registration with External LDAP Fails (somewhat)

I have a WLS 10.3.5 instance with WebCenter Spaces.
I've added an OpenLDAP provider to the security realm, set the OpenLDAP provider and the default authenticator to "sufficient", and reordered the providers in the console to list the OpenLDAP provider first. I've also set "virtualize=true" via the enterprise manager interface, and added the <extendedProperty> attributes for "user.create.bases" and "group.create.bases" in the jps-config.xml file
Using the self registration feature in Spaces, I fill in a proposed new user name, and select "check availability". The check returns "available".
I finish the registration, and submit. I receive the following error, and the registration page remains on the screen:
"User not created. Either the user name or the password does not adhere to the registration policy or the identity store is unavailable. Specify the required user credentials or contact your administrator for assistance." NO ERROR in the Spaces logs.
But I look in OpenLDAP, and lo and behold, the user DID get created.
So remember I still haven't left the registration page. Clicking the "check availability" button still returns "available".
Now clicking the submit button throws the following message:
"A user with the name <insert name entered previously in the "failed" registration> already exists. Choose another name."
The following error is logged in the Spaces log:

  • OIM Self Registration without approval

    Hi All,
I am very new to OIM, I need to know how to do self registration without an admin approval.
I just gave shot by adding those mandatory fields from the approval form to the self registration form by editing the
formmetadata.xml. but i get a bunch of exceptions and the request itself is not getting registered, i couldnt see any pending approval tasks in the admin screen for that particular self registration.
    I went through this post
OIM - auto approval of self registration
From that i could get that i need to create a task adpater and populate the other mandatory fields
which aren't captured in the self registration screen.
But is it the only way of doing it??
Please let me know how to do it (any method).
or any pointers would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    HI Nitesh,
    Thanks for the reply,
What i did is I added the mandatory fields to the self registration page, The probllem was with the value which i had passed during the self registration.
For user type, i gave it as "Full-Time Employee" , but the actual value is "Full-Time" when i gave the correct value
    it worked.
To summarize, i just added the madatoy fields like org name, user type and role to the sefl registration page
and gave the correct values while registering and it worked.
i am sure i cant live with this for a long time, I have to start work on the adapters.
    Thanks.

  • Self registration request and approval process

We are looking to implement self-registration with a bit of workflow when we move to Portal 10.1.2 A system where a user requests access, their request is approved (or denied) by another person and then an account is created with appropiate permissions.
We are currently using an Excel spreadsheet e-mailed back and forth, we have begun designing the process with standard forms and reports in it's own schma, but the last piece will still need to be manual (creating the account).
Does anybody know of a way to automate this process of account creation?
Does Application Server 10.1.2 self-registration have similar capabilities? if so, where could I look to learn what it can do?
    Thanxs,

  • "Forgot Password" functionality with self-registration

We configured self-registration with approval in our portal. One of the functional requirement is having a "forget password" functionality. We are aware that portal password are encrypted one way, and we can't send the password back to the user. One option, is to reset the user's password to a temp password. How can we do something like that? And, are there other options?

    Hi
This issue was resolved by setting the property bharosa.uio.default.ForgotPassword.ChallengeQuestion.timestochallenge from 3 to 1. But still I are unsure how changing this property settings resolved OTP issue.

  • Problems with Auto approval workflow (WS 10000060) for shopping carts

    Hi SAP Network community,
I have got a problem with the auto approval workflow for shopping carts.
Basically the workflow approves the shopping cart once it was created.
But then the related Purchase Order remains in Status held. If the PO gets ordered manually then it is not transferred to the R/3 backend system.
For testing purposes also the one step approval workflow was activated. If the shopping cart gets approved by clicking into the detail approval screen (not by approving through the green tick box in the shopping cart overview) then the PO gets ordered and transferred to the backend system as normal.
But if the shopping cart gets approved by using the green tick box in the shopping cart overview then the same problem occurs as described for the auto approval workflow.
The system version is SRM 4.00
Did anybody have the same or similar problems with the auto approval workflow and what could be the reason for this problems.
    Thanks in advance,
    Robert

    Hi
Which SRM Workflow Scenario are you using (IS it Item level workflow or Shopping cart level Workflow) ?
Are you using customized SRM Business workflow or Standard SRM Workflow ?

    hi all,
I've configured user self registration with the approval process. On clicking the "Company Search" button, i get an error " You are not authorized to perform this action. Contact your system administrator "  instead of the list of companies that i had given during configuration.
The error occurs in EP 7 but it is working fine in EP 6.Can anybody please help me with the solution?

You need to start the useradmin tool and make a new role (not a portal role!) that contains the action UME.SelfRegister_User. Now assign this role to the Everyone group...

    Hi All,
I tried to implement the CoreId - Self Registration with approval process, after the user has enter the profile information, registration was successful. But during the approval process, when i approve the request for the self registration, i get a message saying "Approval - Completed, Enabled - Failed" , what might be the reasons for this failure.Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Dear Rahul,
If the user is locked then it cannot be unlocked as per password policy you have set.
But if it is custom development then you can check in the code whether user locked or not.
if the usre is locked with multiple attemts then you can unlock the user then reset the password.
if the user is locked by administrator then don't unlock and reset. show the message your user is locked by administrator. user needs to contact portal administrator to unlock the user.
    Hope it will helps

  • Auto approval for self registration request in OIM 11G R2

    Hi all,
We have a requirement where we want end users to be able to self-register without needing any sort of approval. We are using OIM 11G R2 with the latest patchset.
The way to do it in 11G R1 is explained in the following document:
But now that R2 does not have any request templates, we are not sure how to do this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

  • Self-registration auto populate/save approver values

    Hi,
From OOTB scenario for Self Registration in OIM 9.1.x, after submitting the user registration request, approver needs to provide ‘Organization Name’ (i.e., Xellerate Users) before approving.
We created an ‘Organizations.Organization Name’ field in Self registration form itself (i.e., in Form name="SelfRegistrationUserForm"> tag in FormMetaData.XML). Now in self-registration, this value is getting auto-populated into approver user profile page (<Form name="SelfRegistrationApprovalForm"> in FormMetaData.xml). But still approver needs to submit the values (i.e.,click on ‘update’ button) before approving. I think we need to set some task to complete, we checked in all provisioning/approval process tasks for self-registration, but not working.
Can anyone help us in suppressing the submit process (i.e.,click on ‘update’ button). Our requirement is the approver should only ‘approve/deny’, no other step is required?
    - Kalyan Mutya.

did you try updating the request with the organization name and the role after the request is submitted.
    updateRegistrationUserDetails(long pnRequestKey, java.util.Map poAttributes)
Updates the request's data with the values passed.
you mentioned that you had added the org name and role name to the self reg form, and it didnt work with that. Was the org name and role getting displayed in the table when you went to the requestDetails Screen for that request? If yes, then all you need to do is, attach to the "Approve" task the adapter tcCompleteTask and you should no longer be prompted for any approval for self reg requests.
