Self-Service Requisitions

Hi,
Do SAP have a system for self-service requisitions? What are they called and what are the requirements to activate those?

Hello Jackie!
The requisition request functionality on the Manager Self-service (MSS) is available via the its installation on the portal and on the backend. It`s available via Business Package BP MSS 1.41.
Also, you would need an E-recruiting system for this functionality.

Unable to view actuals in Project Management's workplan (self-service page)

Hi,
I followed all steps you suggested, in details:
first of all I not enable workplan versioning like PJT R12 manual says at page 2-47.
1-Create a requisition for the project-task combination, then autocreate a purchase order and finally a receipt to create actuals in transactional system
2-Run PRC:interface supplier costs, at this time I found Actuals on PSI form
3-Run process "PRC: Update Project and Resource Base Summaries" (for all projects)
4-Run process "PRC: Update Project Performance Data" on my project
and Actuals were not reported in self-service page
please let me know if I have failed some steps

PRC: Transaction Import     Source "Inventory"
PRC: Distribute Usage & Misc Costs
PRC: Update Project Summary Amounts
PRC: Update Project and Resource Base Summaries
PRC: Update Project Perfomance Data
You should find actuals on the Reporting Tab within the project. To see the actuals on the Workplan, you also need to "Apply Latest Progress" on the Update Tasks screen, or "View Workplan Costs".

Self Service Personalization Making a Flex Required

I have added a flex field into my self service pages for iProcurement/Requisitions and it is working fine. The user base would like the field to be required but we cannot require it at the DFF definition because that would break PO's for us. Is there a way to make this field (a simple poplist of 4 values) to be required in Self Service pages without checking it as required in the FF definition? I see other field types like a Messgae Choice and the like have a "required" attribute, but the Flex does not.
Any thoughts?

I haven't been able to get this to work. I'm trying to change the Returns form in Receiving to force the user to enter a reason code when they do a return. When does the WHEN-VALIDATE-RECORD event occur? Is it when you press SAVE? I've set it up to give the user an error message when the reason_code field is null, but it's not working. It allows me to save with a null reason_code.

Business Package for Student Self Service and Faculty Self Service in EHP3

Dear All,
Can you tell me what all business packages available to provide Student Self Service and Faculty Self Service in the portal.
I am using EHP3.
Please tell me the name of the business packages so that we can download and integrate in portal.
If possible please tell me what functionalities are provided for student and faculty as self service in EHP3.
I did not want to mention this, but I have to say that its really very important for me for one of big prospective customer. I have to show a demo for Student Portal (Student Self Service)and Teacher Portal (Faculty Self Service).

How to use Applicant Hire in Manager Self-Service

Hello,
I was trying to use the Manager Self-Service -> Applicant Hire function.
I created a requisition in Core Apps using the Business Group Name HR Set Up -> Recruitment - > Requisition and Vacancy form.
I then created a vacancy against the requisition.
I then created a applicant against that vacancy.
I then went into the Self Service function Applicant Hire from the Manager Self-Service responsibility and tried searching by applicant no, last etc. But no results came up.
Any idea why the applicant is not comping up in the search ?

Self Service modules as portlets

Where can one find out if Oracle Self Service modules are available to be used as portlets ?

To find information about iProcurement read iProc user guide.
You can even select the help button in the screen itself to find the details about screen functionality.
In iproc, you can't create PO...
In iproc, can you do following things..
You can create requisitions.
You can recieve the POs
You can return POs.

Purchasing super user contains forms based creation of requisition---create Po--receive goods---etc.
Can the above process be done through self service responsibilities. I have checked the "Internet Procurement" responsibility but it automatically directs to the find requisition page.

ERRORS: "Create New Requsition Request" (SRQ1) in Manager Self-Service.

Hello Experts:
We are experiencing an error when we try to create a requisition in Manager Self-Service to E-Recruiting. The problem is that after we have submitted the form, a notification is suppose to be created except that we are short-dumping and no notification is getting created. When I try to select "Display and Print" of the Form I just submitted, it issues short dumps in the back end system.

this is the eorror regarding the workflow processings.
what you need to do is in ISR scenario find the simple requisition scneatio .
you will find the workflow attached there.
go to the workflow through SWDD enter the workflow number and then activite the workflow.
it will solve the issue. if not then just check the rules on which the workflow is excusting.

Self Service Purchasing vs. iProcurement

I am looking for a way to allow users who don't have access to the regular purchasing module to input POs.
Is Self Service Purchasing and iProcurement two different modules? Is Self Service Purchasing what I would need to use to give users internet access to entering POs?

You could set up automatic rollover from contracts and this way
the users will actually enter requisitions using catlogs which
in turn will automatically roll into Purchase orders.
Self service purchasing is the old name for internet procurment.
It used to be called SSP4 then SSP5 and now internet procurement.

Not able to launch Self Service Application thru JDeveloper

We have been able to install and configure the JDeveloper and Self Service application, but not able to launch the application because of the error message below. We have followed the steps mentioned in the attached Quick Installation guide. We tried the solution available on the metalink for the error message" Unable to Load Template mappings...etc... ", but still not able to proceed.

How to enable fnd log in self service page

Hello,
In professional forms, we can enable fnd log using the profile options "FND: Debug Log Enabled" to Yes and "FND: Debug Log Level" to different levels.
Similarly, can we do the same with Self Service page? how and where can i see the log results? Also when i'm running the selfservice page from jDeveloper, is there any possibility to see the entire log?
I need to track why i'm unable to run a page from jdeveloper and i need to track the log.

Hi,
To Enable to Log for a self service page click on 'Diagnostics' link avaible at the Upper Right corner of the page. Now from the Diagnostic poplist select the 'Show Log On Screen' then select the log level and save.
Now you perform your fucntional steps all the log messages you will be able to see at the bottam of the page.

Default Value in a DFF is not getting populated in Self Service Page

I had an issue in Self Service Page.
In the SS page there is hidden mandatory field in DFF segment,which should get populated with a default select statement.
But this field is not getting populated with the default values.
But this is working fine in Forms , i.e the default value is populated in forms.
Why the default value is not populated in Self Service Pages?
For Eg: If there is a DFF "SAMPLE_DFF" which has some context with segment
Context Code : GB_CODE
Segment : "Enter the Group"
and this segment is made required and defaulted with a select stmt (select stmt returns 'XXXXX')
In forms if am not entering any value, then its defaulted to 'XXXXX'.
But in Self Service this is not happening.
Can anybody help me out...

Actually, I have narrowed down the problem. It is not quite the same.
DFF is Receivables, Address Information (Release 12). We have 2 attributes defined and we want the default value of the 2nd to be dependent on what the user selects in the 1st.
So the default value of the 2nd is defined as a SQL Statement, select :$FLEX$.INDUSTRY_CODE from dual (where INDUSTRY_CODE is the value set name from the 1st).
We know the syntax is correct because if we actually hardcode a default value in the 1st attribute (select 'BLAH' from dual), then we do see that the default value for the 2nd attribute fills in with BLAH as well. However, we do not want that. We want the user to choose a value for the 1st attribute from the LOV, and then have the 2nd attribute default to that same value. This is the part that does not seem to work in OAF, but definitely used to work in Forms.
Any thoughts?

SSO to SAP EP6 (for Employee Self Service) using WebSEAL

Hi SDN friends,
We are about to embark on a SSO implementation using IBM WebSEAL for SAP EP6 ESS (Employee Self Service) connecting through to an SAP R/3 4.7 server. Since the ESS solution for 4.7 still uses ITS services, this means that we have ITS iViews in the EP6 portal.
We have managed to look through the whitepaper 'IBM Tivoli Access Manager - Single Sign On for SAP NetWeaver - September 2005' described at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/ibm
We have the following queries, if anybody has a simple answer to these:
- Is it absolutely necessary to configure an SNC connection between ITS/EP6 and R/3 server to achieve SSO for the portal?
- Given that SAP EP6 references ITS IAC iviews, is it necessary for us to configure both ITS and EP6 for SSO, or can we simply configure EP6 for SSO? If so, is it also necessary to configure both for SSL?
- Otherwise, how easy is it to set up SSO in this scenario without SSL (for demo purposes)?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hello John,
regarding your questions:
ad 1) no. SNC is only mandatory if you use X.509-based SSO to R/3. You can also use SAP logon ticket-based SSO from EP to R/3 or usermapping that do both not require SNC.
ad 2) yes, you have to configure both EP and ITS at WebSeal.
ad 3) you can always omit SSL. However for production use, it is recommended.
