In Fusion APplications, we dont find Forms based Applications...only Self Service Web Applications...i have read some where about this....
Forms ----> Jdeveloper
Reports ---> XML Publishser
what does it mean...Self Service...any meaning for that...

I am getting an invalid login message as I attempt to login to Self-Service Web Apps.

You might want to monitor icx_sessions table, but I can't remember how reliable it is in terms on reflecting responsibility changes. You might find some notes on metalink regarding user session management that could help you with what you are trying to achieve.

Architectural/design documentation required for Self Service Expenses application

I'm looking for architectural/design documentation on the Oracle Applications Self Service Expense Reporting application.
Specifically I'd like to know how it was designed & architected, what technologies were used to develop it (e.g. CABO, B24J, Oracle Workflow, AQ etc.) and how these technologies interact to form the final system.
We have a product called the Oracle Migration Workbench. It is a standalone java-based application that facilitates the migration of non-Oracle databases over to Oracle9i. We're investigating the possibility of developing a web-based migration capability. Of course we appreciate that moving from a tool-based, single user solution to a web based, multi user solution is not a trivial task.
Seeing that you guys would have already tackled many of the challenges we face I'd appreciate it if you can provide me with any pertinent information.
Any white papers/architectural collateral you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Overriding Approver in Self Service Leave Application

Hi,
In ESS Leave Application Page, I have configured the Overriding Approver into the DFF Additional Absence Details. The LOV is a value set that list all employees who are executive and above employees.
However, I am facing problem on how to default the Overriding Approver as the requestor default approver?
Appreciate if anyone could advise on this issue.

Hi,
Currently, we are using the AME to utilized position hierarchy as the approval routing. However, we would like to an additional column, Overriding Approver, to override the default approver.
Thus, we use the Additonal Absence Details DFF to display the Overriding Approver. However, we are not able to display the original approver (which is based on position hierarchy) on the DFF Overriding Approver.
Appreciate if you could advise.

Hi gurus,
I have 12.1.3 running on 11.2.0.2 on Suse Linux Enterprise Server. I have iSupplier setup with one apps tier box sitting in DMZ (web only) and another apps tier box within out network (cm, web, forms, admin). How can I find out the the number of iSupplier users logging in for a date range and also how can I find out the maximum number of concurrent users for iSupplier?

How to customise existing pages using self service framework

I am trying to customise the existing pages in internet expense module in oracle applications 11.5.9. I have taken an approach to use AK developer and Self Service Web Application Manager.
I have created a new web inquiiry using these two. But unable to modify the existing pages. Unable to decipher the existing flow of pages - regions and how the attributes are laid out.
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Web Application services failing to start (Foundation SS, Hyperion Admin)

Hyperion Essbase 11.1.1.3
In my installation recently my web applications are failing to start properly. I'm following the start order and allowing services time to come up, but they are still reporting an error.
1. OpenLDAP starts fine, and quickly.
2. Hyperion Foundation Shared Services - Web Application will not start. It fails each time (as does Hyperion Administration Services - Web Application) with the same error message in the logs (see below).
Nothing has changed on these servers in a long time. Any ideas?

I have had this exact issue and it is caused by a corrupt security.xml file in Websphere. (This was in our System 9 environment)

and replaced the old security.xml file with a non 0 kb file from backup and restarted the services and it corrected the issue.

Self Service Time Customization

Hi Friends
I have a requirement to include an option button / listbox to show where the consultant worked. That is either onsite or offsite in Self Service Time Application. We are in 11.5.10 version.
We dont have any descriptive flexfields in this HTML based application.
How can i do this. ? Please suggest me

OTL Timecard selfservice pages are not true OA pages and are based out of LDT layout files. There are wrapper classes over OA beans and a custom rendering engine to render the timecards. There are still some references to AK and hence the corresponding changes. We can directly use LOV OA regions on 11.5.10+ instances along with the LDT changes, but I still won't suggest that.

Update Planning table but need to restart Web application server

Hi All,
We want to update the process state externally. After updating table, Windows services (Web application server) need to be restarted.
However, the updating operation could be done frequently so that we can get real-time result. How to notify Planning application to refresh its data without restarting services ?
Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi,
Planning uses a caching system where it caches the current state of the relational tables. If changes are made in planning then the cache is updated and the tables.
If you update the tables directly the cache will not be updated so planning will still hold its previous state. I don't think there is an easy way round this and there is no simple update cache procedure.
If you do need to update tables directly then the only sure way of clearing the cache is to restart the web app.

Timezone setting in OA Framework (Self Service Page)

Dear All,
Even after setting the 'Client Timezone' profile option at the responsibility level, I am not able to get the date fields having date picker in the User Interface (Custom developed Self Service Web page) taking up the value of the particular timezone that is assigned to the responsibility, instead its taking up the local machines date and time...??
How can I populate a Local Timezone value to a date field in OA Framework?

Not able to launch Self Service Application thru JDeveloper

We have been able to install and configure the JDeveloper and Self Service application, but not able to launch the application because of the error message below. Seems like configuration problem at Siebel end.Check following points:-
1) Are you able to invokde SelfServiceTemplate rule web service from [SOAP UI|http://www.soapui.org/].
2) Recheck configuration details of custom object manager in siebel as mentioned in Self Service application developer guide.
3) Recheck Siebel web service url which you have given...
