Self Training Product

Hi there,
I would like to get certified as SAP Consultant and Im pretty use to work by myself taking some self training course. Now I was looking for SAP self training course & I found a web site http://erpselftraining.com/produit_detail.php?id=72 , this web site offer a self training material but based on SAP Business One 6.50.
My first question is if somebody got those material & ask for a feedback and then the second question if there are a big difference from the ver. 6.50 and the 2005A PL 43.
The last question is where I can find material to prepare by myself for the exam as SAP Consultant

For your 1st question, I think delta training and material for SAP B1 2004A and 2005A are what to need to find the different between 6.5 and 2004A and also 2005A.
The second question, there are a lot of different. As I can see in the delta training material.
Just look for the pdf file i.e. solution in brief, solution in details, factsheet and highlight ppt file in the link or service.sap.com/smb --> solution --> SAP business one

Self Training in SQL Server

Hi Harish,
I echo all the recommendations you have been given so far. All the recommendations you have been given have different strengths meaning the different recommendations compliment each other and are not either/ or choices.
You've not mentioned which version of SQL Server you need to get trained up in. I recommend that you focus on SQL 2005 and SQL 2008. Most live systems out there (certainly in the UK are running SQL 2005), most managers who line manage SQL Server professionals are
aware of some of the advantges of upgrading to SQL 2008 such as improved Business Intelligence support. However I find when moving from client to client site that there is too much fear based on the past experience of migrating from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005,
where in fact there is much less effort involved in migrating from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008. The end result is there will be live SQL 2005 systems out there for a while.
Decide which SQL Server job role emphasis you want to specialise in there are 3; - Database Administrator, Database Developer and Business Intelligence Developer (skill sets between these 3 roles over lap).

Oracle self-training

Hi all,
I use Oracle 8.1.6 in work a little but I'd like to learn alot more about it especially troubleshooting and system administration. Hopefully I'd like to do exams in this one day. Therefore, I'm going to download Oracle 9i for home PC to play around with.
1) What's the difference between Lite and Personal.
2) After 30 days, what happens when the licence expires, will it stop working or just become restricted. How much is a licence to buy.
3) Does anyone know of a good source of docs to start learning about system adminstation of Oracle and troubleshooting beside the docs on this website.

1. Lite is intended for use in small footprint situations like handhelds etc. Personal is a slightly stripped down version of the standard database. It will do most of what the "real" product will, but cannot handle large volumes and a few other limitations.
2. Nothing happens. As long as you are not using the software for commercial purposes, or as a production system, you can continue to use it.
3. Although you should start with Oracle's documentation (Read the Concepts Guide until you have it memorized.) some other good sources other than this site are:

Apple training ??? Final Cut Pro ???

Okay I looked at the Apple training site ( very vague ) then eventually discovered that to do self training I need to get some books from "Peach pit".
So far so good but I can not find any info as to what to study in terms of "I want to do an intense course of self study and I know zero about Final Cut Pro" Or who/where is the test's done , what the cost of the test's is and how frequently.
Also what time frame is involved in the study to test to certificate ? min time ? Do I need to wait for the next full moon to do a test or study , next day test , 3 days to get test score , then 3 days to certificate , and is the certificate acceptable in any other country or just the USA ?
If not acceptable in another country is it then not better to do it in that country or can an add on be done to be use full in Europe ?
It would have been so easy to go to the Apple training page and see there is the course , click a link for additional info. On this new page see this is the options for the course and this is what you need and how long it will take and if it will be accepted all around the world.

Believe me I hate a piece of paper saying I have completed someone's idea about a product and is now familiar with their theory.
Problem is 12 years after leaving school having retired and reached successes that will only be bettered in 50 years according to my former lecturers I now need a piece of paper to make traveling easier as the noncreative community still believes a piece of paper give's you access to places or status and likely that is why the noncreative community barely makes enough money to buy a roll of toilet paper or $15k per month.
Q? about is the certificate useful outside America.
USA certificates mean nothing in any other country as to a believe about the schooling standards.
IE: USA University = several persons tired of reading some company's business card and paying $20k and spending 2 years having to hear the lecturers reading the business card to them went to Heidelberg Germany to go and do a real computer course.
They arrived there and was informed that the 12 years they have spend at school was completely wasted ??? They where informed they have to first go and learn English (reading and writing), math etc. and then come back and after then completing the entry test see if they will be able to keep up.
They then had to go to special classes to learn how to learn.
3 years later they where admitted to Heidelberg University and learned in 10 secs. what they learned at Devry in 2 years and their course + accom. + all expenses = $10k per year.
So solution is try some new direction get some certification as it does open doors and yes it is no testimony of one's skill.

How do I get rid of the security warning for disc based Flash product

I have a project that use a program called Articulate to turn
powerpoint shows into a more rich flash product with audio, search
capacities, quiz etc. There are multiple sections from multiple
powerpoint files that generate a dozen or so flash files. The flash
files reside in an html shell to allow for navigation. The whole
thing is delivered on disc as a browser based training product.
The problem is that viewing flash from a disc results in a
security alert every time the viewer goes to a flash file. There is
an Articulate theme blog that suggests using a product called
server2go to make the disc function as a server to kinda fool
browsers on the local machine into thinking the disc is a web
server. My client wants the product to allow the users' default
browser. So far, although server2go is supposed to allow this, it
doesn't with the latest version of firefox (client's preferred
browser). I can only get it to work on a select machine or 2 in my
office with IE (server2go default) but it takes forever to launch.
I haven't gotten it to work on any of the client's machines. The
disc (auto launch) just freezes the machines.
Can anyone recommend a better server emulation product, or
tell me another solution to delivering a disc based flash product
without getting the security warning and without making the viewer
change settings on their machine to allow flash to play?
I understand security issues but this makes flash virtually
unusable for this application and I'm dead in the water if I can't
fix it.

Weblogic Server training

Need a Summarized Training Report

My management is asking for summarized training reporting that shows by curriculum (for all curriculum/courses) how many trainees have completed the curriculum by month of this year. The only way I can see to get this is to download each curriculum's details each month and add the details to a spreadsheet. This is very time consuming. A major training product like Adobe Connect should have some way to generate this. Attached is an example of what I want. Ignore the top level. This is something that I inserted for grouping. If this is not possible in this application, I would like this as an enhancement.

Advise of Certification after Training

I have recently got my self trained in SAP FI (Business One Solution) though an SAP Partner Authorised Training Partner
However am bit Sceptical about giving a Certification Exam as I am not sure if this will really help me , am currently a Lead PMO with Bank's Captive unit

however my query is my current work involves very less interaction with SAP , some where in deep heart i really want to move into implementation of SAP (FI CO) however my fear is industry will consider me as Fresher to SAP and with load of liabilities that i am currently carrying it will be difficult for me to sustain downgraded pay structure (Considering me as fresher to SAP)
The only advantage that I see is I am Project Management (Prince 2 / CAPM ) certified professional , however not sure if Employers will value it and relate them while selecting me for SAP

SMSY - Product definitions

Hi All,
Within SMSY you can see all active products in the lanschape. However I do not see "self made" products that were defined on the SLD...
The "self made" software components do show on the different instances but the installed poducts tab stays empty.
Do I need to take extra actions for the other products to show within SMSY?

I'm not sure but I don't think the products are replicated, just the systems/instances. The documentation in the IMG shows the following:
ABAP Systems
o   System name and number
o   Message server
o   Clients
o   Installed software components, release, patch level
o   Instances and assigned servers
o   Server data
o   Databases
o   Database servers
JAVA Systems
o   Instances and assigned servers
o   Server roles (types)
o   Installed software components, release, patch level
"Products" are not listed so you will need to create them manually.
