Self.xml - what's that?

Hello all:
Very new mac guy here so sorry if this is a dumb one. Anyway on day 2 now and still getting my bearings. So I tried Messenger Mac but my webcam doesn't seem to work with that. Did a search and found this Mercury - so tried that but did not like it - trust me I'm going somewhere... So I spotlight "Mercury" and delete everything that comes up... It asked me for my password to delete something... I'm guessing that something was this "self.xml..." So I deleted it, and of course emptied that rather cool looking trash can.
Now I don't know if that file had anything to do with Mercury or not. I'm guessing since it asked for my password, the file was probably related to something else. Everything is still running perfectly fine, but if anyone could tell me what that file was for, and if I need to do something about having deleted it I would really appreciate it.

Hi Ronald,
I found these file because I looked for a german thesaurus. The basic thesaurus in the ISO-format is only in french and english language.
Do you know, if there is way how I can load this German xml-thesaurus without writing a complicated parser?
Bye,
Jens
PS: I run Oracle 10.1.0.2

  • How to store xml data fragments, that will not be queried?

    Hello,
    Delphi Client application communicates with Java Server application via XML messages. Client sends XML message over HTTP Post method. Java Servlet gets XML message, parses it, performs requested action (select/insert/update/delete), generates resulting response and sends it back to the Client.
    I use Oracle DB XE 10.2.
    For example: Client sends a request to the server, to append certain Order with new Product info:
    Request:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <Request OrderID="123123123" Action="NewProduct">

    I use DOM parsers to parse the received requests, extract certain info and insert it into relational tables using standart SQL queries.
    My question is: what is the best way to store XML data fragments, that are not required to be saved relationally? I need to save the content of node <TechProduct> from the above example to relational table's column. There will be no need to query this column, no need to use relational views. I will use it only when Client application will request to modify certain order's product. Then I will have to send back the same <TechProduct> node via XML response.
    So what column type do I have to use? CLOB? XMLType? Is it better to use object types? Do I have to register XML Schema for better performance? The size of the fragment can be ~2MB.
    Thanks for your help

    Thank you for reply,
    As you suggested, I will use XMLType storage as CLOB (without XML Schema).
    As I mentioned before, I use Java Servlet, deployed on Tomcat WebServer, to receive XML messages from Client application via HTTP POST method.
    I use these libs to get the XML payload and parse it into a Document:
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import org.xml.sax.InputSource;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    And here is the code:
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
    try {
    // get the XML payload and parse it into a Document
    DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document dom;
    InputSource input = new InputSource(request.getInputStream());
    dom = docBuilder.parse(input);
    catch(Exception ex) {
    System.out.println("Exception thrown in XmlService");
    ex.printStackTrace();
    throw new ServletException(ex);
    I create a relational table, that contains XMLType column:
    CREATE TABLE xwarehouses (
    warehouse_id NUMBER,
    warehouse_spec XMLTYPE)
    XMLTYPE warehouse_spec STORE AS CLOB;
    Now I want to insert all DOM Document into XMLType column. So I do like this:
    import oracle.xdb.XMLType;
    String SQLTEXT = "INSERT INTO XWAREHOUSES (WAREHOUSE_ID, WAREHOUSE_SPEC) VALUES (?, ?)";
    XMLType xml = XMLType.createXML(con,dom);
    PreparedStatement sqlStatement = con.prepareStatement(SQLTEXT);
    sqlStatement.setInt(1,2);
    sqlStatement.setObject(2,xml);
    sqlStatement.execute();
    sqlStatement.close();
    dom is the Document, that I got from HTTP Request input stream.
    My servlet throws an exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLParseException
    at XmlService.GetMatListServiceHandler.processRequest(GetMatListServiceHandler.java:111)
    at XmlService.XmlServiceHandler.handleRequest(XmlServiceHandler.java:43)
    at XmlService.XmlServiceServlet.doPost(XmlServiceServlet.java:69)
    at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:716)
    at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:809)
    why does he needs oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException? I don't use Oracle parser? Does this code line throws the exception (I am not able to debug my code, because I have not configured JDeveloper to be able to use Remote Debuging):
    XMLType xml = XMLType.createXML(con,dom);
    Does it reparses the given dom Document or what?. When I deploy xmlparserv2.jar to Tomcat, everything is ok, application inserts XML data into XMLType column.
    Is there another way to insert the whole org.w3c.dom Document or Document fragment (that is already parsed) into XMLType column. Can you provide any sample code?
    The Document may contain national symbols, so they should be correctly stored and then later retrieved.
    Many thanks.

  • What is that thing in front of a person's name whe...

    Every time I'm on a group call there's always one person that has this symbol/thing in front of their names. I was just wondering what that is?

    Interesting... my podcast has this strange symbol too (just a square, no X though), since I included the feed on ITMS on August 2005.
    I double-checked my xml file now (that I edit by hand) and I simply could not find anything odd (not even a space).
    You can check the symbol on:
    podcasts --> International --> Brazilian --> Marcos Lacerda - Podcast de Variedades
    And the interesting thing is that it keeps correctly sorted by alphabetical order despite the symbol (it would be great if this could bring mine to the top of the list) :-D

  • What is that symbol in front of the Podcast listing

    In iTunes our podcast Midwest Movie Review has a funky delete like symbol with an X on it... see it????
    podcasts >movies and television >(weird symbol) Midwest Movie Review
    What does that mean? Is there a key to goofy symbols and updates for podcasters? Is this the place?
    How does one remove this mark?

  • Normal 0 false false false EN-US ZH-TW X-NONE - what's that ??

    Hello guys,
    The podcast that I'm producing doesn't show right in iTunes Store.
    The description always says:
    Normal 0 false false false EN-US ZH-TW X-NONE
    What's that and how I can fix it ?
    I tried contacting support but all they did is to send me a link from feedvalidator.org ...
    The feed is:
    www.reasonablediet.libsyn.com/rss
    Thank you

    The 'Description' column in the Store is populated from the 'itunes:summary' tag (Apple's Tech Note claims that it is populated from the 'itunes:subtitle' tag, but this is wrong - it ought to be, but it isn't - though it is when subscribing).
    In any event, these tags are missing from your feed. In their absence, the Store is displaying the contents of the 'description' tag - or trying to - if you go to the FeedValidator Report and look at line 41 you will see that this tag contains a vast amount of XML data, which it shouldn't. iTunes is rendering this as best it can. What you are seeing are the settings embedded in the XML, though not the tags which contain them.
    I can't think what it's doing there - LibSyn writes messy feeds, but not usually that messy - if you've put all that in there I should remove it, nothing is going to read it properly.
    You should add 'itunes:subtitle' and 'itunes:summary' tags to each 'item' and keep the contents in plain text: or find out how to get Libsyn to add these tags.
    This page may help to clarify things for you: it includes a basic sample feed so you can see what I'm talking about:

    You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
    Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
    If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
    Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
    Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
    To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
    You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. Welcome to the Apple Community.
    The Apple TV should set it's time automatically from the network time server, if it isn't doing this try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds, if this fails try resetting or restoring it.
