Selling Express 9 - how to be legal?

Hi there
I bought a retail copy of Logic Express 9 back in November, to dip my toe in the Logic waters after 10 years of using another DAW. Interesting thing to do, but it hasn't really worked out, and I realise I'm happy with the old DAW after all.
As I won't use Logic Express again, can I sell it? I've already uninstalled. I registered a serial number when I originally installed - any way to 'de-register'? I've looked through the manuals and can't see any licence agreement, and googling doesn't turn up much either.

I suppose you can call Apple to de-register, although there is actually no need. It's not an "ownership control" any more, what info you provide is used for marketing purposes I guess.
Make sure you supply the original receipt, all the documentation and the serial number to the next buyer. Receipt is important, because it is a proof of purchase in case the serial is lost.

MacKeeper seems to be the biggest threat to Mac users. How is MacKeeper legally allowed to exist. How can we get rid of it?

At least once a day I get a MacKeeper Pop-up that won's allow me to continue browsing unless I click close the MacKeeper page. Once I do that, a second window pops up that I need to verify that I want to leave the page. I cannot continue using safari unless I click this other window, which I am too worried to do, so I just quit safari, but this window is so intrusive, it stays open even after safari is closed! How is that even allowed to happen and how is that legal. I then have to force quit Safari and restart it. Then if I am looking to buy or download software, half the time the link to the software or the download icon is fake and simply redirects you to MacKeeper's home page, which again they won't allow you to leave. I have also been told that MacKeeper has planted writers in forums and bloggers and proffesional reviewers all over. Then I hear that the package MacKeeper offers is all software that is available elsewhere for free and it has just been renamed, and the rest of the software is inoperable. How is this company allowed to exist. How could their practices possibly be considered legal?
Is there anything legitamate they offer?mWhat can be done about them???

If you did not actually install MacKeeper, it can do nothing to your Mac. I'll assume that the only problems you're faced with have been the intrusive advertisements.
First go to Safari's Preferences and block popup windows: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > select "Block popup windows".
Then, make sure you don't have any Safari Extensions you don't want: Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Then, consider the possibility that your wireless router has been "hacked", a recent problem that has been growing in popularity:If the wireless router you are using is one that uses a web page for configuration, such as Linksys and Netgear products do, it is possible that its DNS settings have been maliciously tampered with. To fix it will require resetting your router using its hardware reset option, followed by configuring it again.
When doing so, be sure to select the option to prevent setup over its WAN port. Different routers use different terminology for remote administration, so be sure to find the correct setting and disable that option. Use WPA / WPA2 encryption and a reasonably secure wireless network password.
btw, it is not on pirate sights or xxx sites that i encounter mac keeper, but baseball blogs and stat sights, and the administrators DO say what you said they would... that they have a third party that pays them to do the advertisments. i know some of these guys personally, and none of them would allow this to happen if they could avoid it. they don't have the most traffic in the world, so they don't have the luxury of choosing where or how they get their revenue, they're just happy they can make a living.
I understand that and I don't begrudge anyone legitimate means of earning a living. However, I strongly disagree with taking the easy way out, saying they have no control over the ads that appear on their site. Would they adopt that stance if their site hosted advertisements for child pørnography?
Somewhere between that extreme (and illegal) example and having no advertisements whatsoever lies responsibility. Your friends should fire AdChoices or AdSense or whatever service is placing paid content on their web pages, and be abundantly clear about the reason. You don't see MacKeeper or CleanMyMac or similar ads for garbage products on many respectable websites. Unfortunately, they appear on enough of them to be the invasive problem it has become. Until enough site administrators stand up and say they're not willing to tolerate it, the scourge of garbage products will continue to result in lost time, money, irreplaceable data, or all three. MacKeeper alone has earned at least $18 million in revenue, by their own admission, and that was some time ago. If all that money does is to enrich one or two people, that's bad enough. How do they know the revenue is not being directed to fund more sinister purposes? How does anyone?

Use MPEG Streamclip to convert it. Depending on the type of file you might need to purchase the MPEG-2 playback component.

Hi, I'm about to sell my Late 2012 iMac but how do I erase the hard disk the proper way...?

Before you sell or give away your computer, in addition to the steps mentioned in this support article, take these steps:
Run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test. The buyer will do this (or he should), and you don't want to be surprised by the results.
Reset the PRAM and the SMC, which might contain personal information.
If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.
If you activated FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, turn it off.
If you use Boot Camp, the partition must be deleted.
If you created any other data partitions on the internal drive, remove them in Disk Utility.
Erase the data partition(s) with the option to zero out data. An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You can't legally or practically transfer any software downloaded from the Mac App Store to the new owner of the machine, even if it was free. That includes OS X, so if you upgraded to OS X 10.7 or later, you must reinstall an older OS, either from the installation media, if applicable, or by booting into Internet Recovery (option-command-R at the startup chime.) If you installed from physical media, deliver those to the new owner.
If you're selling the machine, or donating it in working order, and it originally shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, then you have the option of installing either from the discs that came with it or from a retail Snow Leopard disc (which you must then transfer with the machine.) The buyer should understand that if he doesn't get the original discs from you, he won't get the bundled iLife applications or the Apple Hardware Test. Replacements for the original discs can be ordered from Apple.
The new owner will have to redownload any software that came from the App Store, including OS X upgrades, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer those either.
Remove the machine from your list of registered products. If it's still covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan, transfer the coverage to the new owner by following the instructions in the AppleCare Terms and Conditions (under the heading "Transfer of Plan.")

I have an Airport Extreme and want to extend my connection and have a printer connected to the express. How do I do this??

I have been looking on all the forums to see how this can be done. I would like to do this wirelessly as the Extreme is on the first level and express in the office with the printer. Could someone please walk me through the steps to do this. Can I connect my speakers wirelessly to the express as well?

No, not by a wireless connection. They would need to be connected to the AirPort Express' audio port using an appropriate (analog or digital optical) cable as required by your speakers.

I have got a question reg invoice reports thru xmlp (in the RTF template). They like to put legal instructions paragraph( which is legal terms and conditions already placed at right side of each invoice page ie in landscape so they want to put move that para to bottom of each invoice page) of each inovoice page ,if one invoice contains multiple pages then it should be placed under bottom of last page,
I have got pdf page from them, if I copy that paragraph, it is copying as image file.
Does anyone know please let me know,

How to scan legal size document with Adobe Acrobat 6.0?

How do you scan legal (8.5 x 14.0) size documents with Adobe Acrobat 6.0.0 ? There is no option for that size paper in the scan menu. And I can't find the answer in either my help file or on-line with Adobe.com. Can anyone help me?

I use a HP OfficeJet G85. I have no problem copying/printing legal (8.5 x 14) size documents with that all-in-one unit. So I assumed it should be able to send the image it collected to my Adobe Acrobat program instead of to the printer. Am I missing something? Or should I put the question to HP instead of Adobe?

Filter Express VI - How to make it work with single samples? (LabVIEW 8)

I'm trying to update some older code by implementing some sort of FFT. Currently, my program acquires X data points, averages them, and spits out the Mean value into a graph (Signal as a function of wavelength) (Spectrofluorimeter). This is done a number of times with the instrument moving to a different wavelength between each sample scan. I've tried to incorporate the Filter Express VI but it does not seem to be doing what I'd like it to. I have it wired to my Signal Acquisition Express VI with the Filter set to Low-pass 100 Hz with the result being passed through the "Mean" VI and then graphed with the Build XY Graph Express VI.
When I graph the Power Spectrum, I am seeing that the maximum observable frequency is always 1/50th my sampling rate (regardless of my low/high/bandpass settings). For example: my # of samples is set to 100, and my sampling rate is 8000 and I observe a maximum frequency of 160 Hz. If my # of samples is set to 100 and my sampling rate to 6000, the maximum frequency is 120 Hz. If I try the Filter Express VI with very basic wiring and just hook up a battery to it, I see all sorts of frequencies all the way up to my sampling rate divided by 2 (i.e. 8000 -> 4000 Hz) so this seems very strange to me.
I'm not sure what is causing this and perhaps its a limitation of the Filter Express VI and I'm supposed to filter using a different method? I was thinking that perhaps I would need to store all of the dynamic data and then wire it to the Filter Express VI once the entire scan was completed and filter that way but I'm not sure how to save or buffer this dynamic data.
I'm hoping this is a common problem and someone would be so kind as to offer me any suggestions!

I think I should clarify that these aren't necessarily "Single Samples". I take X number of samples at a specific wavelength, filter that, then take X number of samples at a different wavelength, filter that, and the goal is to have a frequency filtered data set at the end.

Expression.Evaluate() - how to use it with propertyobject?

I code in a process model callback and would like to evaluate an expression with the Runstate.Caller context.
I found the method
Expression.Evaluate (
evaluationContext, evaluationOptions = EvalOption_NoOptions)
This is exactly what I need. However, if I have a CallingStep.Expr, which is a expression, I can't access the Evaluate() function. It is not available, only the PropertyObjects functions are.
How can I cast it to be an Expression so I can access the function Evaluate?!
I though I could do:
Runstate.CallingStep.Expr.Evaluate(Runstate.Caller, 0x0)
This would return the expression evaluated in the caller context as a PropertyObject.
But it's not the case, I'm missing something so TS know Runstate.CallingStep.Expr is an Expression... even if I add it to Watch panel, it shows it's an expression...

I have an object of type Expression (from what I understand and from what the watch panel is showing) and I was expecting to be able to use the Evaluate() function.
Expression.Evaluate(seqContext, options)
But it seems that it's a propertyobject because only the function of this type are available.

anybody know is that option to define SID on this 10g Express Editino I installed on Windows xp, 32 ?
Tried to find config file or set ORACLE_SID from command line and failed.
I've tried XE, orcl but got "IE error minus 1 on read call".
Ping on my ip/port is succefull.
I'm trying to attache Aqua Studio I still have lisence for for this db.

Play Waveform Express vi: How to disable "Normalize waveform"?

I am an EE professor. My students are using LabView to develop simple music synthesizers. How can we disable the "Normalize Waveform" function within the "Play Waveform" express vi, so that we can control volume with amplitude?

Since you know that Normalize Waveform.vi is inside the Express VI, you have apparently converted Play Waveform.vi to a standard VI and opened its block diagram. You can either remove Normalize or, probably better, add a boolean control and a case structure around Normalize from the Play Waveform and save with a different name.
While you are at it, change the signal inputs and outputs to arrays of waveforms (as it uses internally) and get rid of the evil Dynamic Data Type. You can use the process to teach your students better programmig pracitces while getting the Vi to perform as you want.

I got an IP camera for surveilance but I have an old version airport express. How can I plug the ethernet cord for the camera if there is only one port that's connected to the modem (WAN)?

You will need to replace the AirPort Express with another wireless router that has a built-in Ethernet switch ... like the AirPort Extreme.
