Hi, I'm getting an iPhone and selling my iPod touch. Is there something I need to do besides just restore to factory and removing my files? In fact what's the best way to do that?

WAL MART now selling IPOD NANOS?

I was just shocked to se a commercial for WAL MART now selling IPOD Nanos. I never thought this would be possible Is this true? If it is I would think Apple would be throwing a hissy fit. I could have saved an awful lot of money on my Nano.

Yes, it's true. It's all a part of Walmart's campaigne to try and attract more upscale customers. (That's why they're remodeling all of their stores.) because it's gotten a repution for being the New and not so improved K-mart. (IE, A place selling inferior products where poor people shop.)
They're doing this to try and compete on Target's level because recent studies suggest that most higher-paid people prefer to shop at Target instead of Walmart.
Personally I think it's a losing battle. But then again I shop at Target and HATE walmart. hehe

What to do before selling ipod touch

I'm selling my ipod touch for an iphone and need to make sure I don't send it with anything to do with me on there. Whats the best order for erasing all content? Also, will the amount of computers is authorised with go back to 5? I dont really want to leave the buyer with only 3 chances. Basically anything else I need to know before selling it. I'd really really appreciate it. thanks!

What you need to do is a clean restore, and make sure you don't restore to backup, restore it as new and then DON'T SYNC! Leave it, the new person who gets the iPod can authorise the iPod to his iTunes account.

Selling iPod Touch

I am selling my iPod, so when it sells, what will I need to do to 'unregister' it from my apple account, and allow someone else to use it? Would they get 2.0? Or by them syncing it to their account, would it restore to factory making them have to purchase 2.0 again?

So is anything else required? The iPod has now sold on ebay, and I removed all media and reset everything, and manually deleted all apps. Anything else?

Question about selling ipod

I am thinking of selling my iPod. Now I have already registered it with apple. I do have the applcare which I just bought, but was wondering about can everything be transfered overt to the new owner like registration and all of that stuff. I know applcares are transferable (at least on computers) but what steps should I take in preparing the ipod for sale (like making it like a new ipod when it is connected for the first time. ect ect)

You can't change this (and it's not really necessary as it's no longer under warranty).
2. Is there a website that can estimate the value of my iPod? Good condition / no screen crack. ??
I don't know of any such website. The last time I sold an iPod I checked eBay and a couple of other local selling sites to see what prices they were fetching.

Selling iPod 4th Gen to get 5th gen, but.......?

Hi folks.
I'm currently selling my iPod 4th Gen to raise funds for my 5th gen. I won't be able to order the 5th gen until I have the funds from my 4th gen sale, and I just want to ask, how long does delivery take to the UK?
Also, is the warranty transferable? And does anyone know how I would transfer to warranty to the buyer?

The warranty should be fully transferable, but you might need the original paperwork for when you purchased the phone, such as a sales receipt or order confirmation. This is used for proof of date of purchase, but I contacted Apple regarding the same issue and they said in some cases the warranty was still valid as long as the original UPC was still on the box for the iPod. Also, the Extended Apple Care Protection Plan is available for purchase for who you sell the phone to, given that it's still under the original warranty. I believe it's $59, and for people buying a used iPod from someone else, it's usually a good idea to go ahead and extend the warranty. I did the same thing and sold my 30GB iPod Photo on ebay in order to buy the new 60GB, and ended up getting about $240 for it, so good luck.

No.
Apple sells ipods, they do not buy them.
They have a recycle program. They will give a 10% discount on a new ipod if you bring in an old one for recycling.

Selling iPod classic 160G don't remember old password, won't restore

Hi,
I have read all the answers to restoring my ipod classic to sell, and have already tried restore.
When I hit restore, itunes requests apple id & password.
My problem: This ipod classic was set up under an old apple id & password that I do not remember.
It does not in the end, restore, that I can tell. So I manually deleted everything and it is now empty, but not "restored". (Is there a difference?)
Here is my question: Is it enough to simply delete all my content manually, rename it to a generic name, and sell it?
Or do I need to contact Apple, find out my old password, and restore? I want the new owner to not have any trouble setting it up.

Selling ipod classic how do I set to new

I am trying to remove all my data and name from and ipod classic so I can give to my kids, but have reformatted and restored and each time it came back with my name, will it work if I connect to their account, would I restore from itunes in their accounts?? will that change the settings,
it is well out of warranty so do not need to register, just need to get all of my data off of it. Songs are gone but name remains.

What do you mean by name?
If you are refering to the name of the iPod Classic you can change it in iTunes.Just press on the iPod Classic in iTunes and rename it,just as you would rename a folder

Selling ipod mini to friend-what do I need to do?

I am selling my mini to a friend and have left all of my songs on it. Is it possible for her to re-register it? Also, will she be able to choose what songs she wants to keep and be able to keep what I've purchased from the iTunes store?

She should just need to connect it to her pc - iTunes will take care of the rest.
As for the music on it - almost all music is copyrighted material and it is illegal for you to share it with your friends. Sorry.

Backing up purchased apps before selling ipod Touch

I want to sell my iPod touch 4g. I am going to erase it first but is there any way to backup the purchased apps somewhere so that I may transfer them to my new iPhone 4 when I buy it?

First you should restore the iPod via iTunes. This will erase all data from the iPod and set it back to its original default settings. For instructions on how to do this, see this Apple support document.

I didn't know that.
I guess that was the big hullabaloo awhile ago when they put out that they were lookin' for game developers
and everyone thought they were makin' a compact game machine.

Ipod Mini--- no longer selling?

Are they no longer selling "ipod minis?" have they been replaced by the ipod nano? that would be really awful because I was just going to buy one. My reason to thinking that they aren't selling them anymore is in the Apple Store Website they dont mention the ipod mini in things you can buy..so please tell me if you know anything! thanks for your help..

Your sense of timing is as goofy as your sense of time. The Mini has been around for longer than a year. Apple didn't "started to discontinue" the Mini - it DISCONTINUED the Mini when the Nano appeared, just over a month ago. Many retailers still have a supply of Minis.
