Selling photos online

Is it possible to live just selling photos online?
Do you have any experience?
I would like to learn your web site advises for online photo selling ...

I have sold a few of my photos to [link removed by moderator] and got 6 USD per photo by contacting the webadministrator directly. You could also try to find websites that are related to your photographic topics and contact the administrators or editors. Goodluck!

  • Making offline photos online again...

In PSE7, I am trying to move offline photos back online on a larger disk. I've searched the forums and can't find advice that actually works. Any help will be appreciated. Some posting said that I can put the disk holding the offline photos online again and it should just work but the drive letter of the has to be THE SAME as it was when the photos were moved offline. But, is there a way to determine what drive letter PSE thinks this is supposed to be?
    Leif Pederson

    1. Is the drive a USB flash drive (thumb drive) or an external USB hard drive?
    2. When you connect the drive, is its contents accessible in Windows Explorer? Can you see the offline photos on that drive in Explorer? If you cant, then the problem is with the drive or its contents, and dont follow the rest of thes steps.
    3. In PSE, select one of the offline photos. Right-click the photo and select Show Properties. In the Properties General pane, what is the exact path of the photo shown next to the yellow folder icon? (If you cant find the offline photos in you catalog, dont follow the rest of these steps.)
    4. Leave the drive connected.
    5. Download "psedbtool" from here:
    http://johnrellis.com/psedbtool/#_Downloading,_Installing,_and
and follow steps 1 4. This creates the file output.log in the same folder where you extracted psedbtool post its contents here. This will list all the drives that are recorded in PSEs catalog along with all the drives currently connected to your computer.
With this information, we should be able to determine whats going on with your offline files. If youre not comfortable posting that information here (its not really useful to anyone else), click on my name above and email it to me.

  • Problems sharing photos online

In trying to share photos online, which sends them in an e-mail, people receive the e-mail with thumbnails of pictures. When they click on the thumbnail to enlarge it, the picture disappears. What is going wrong? How can my friends see my pictures?

Are you saying that the images are not available in the email itself?

  • Question - sharing photos online

I'm trying to share my photos online using photoshop.com.  (I'm an Elements 7 user).  When I try to share photos after creating an album, it directs me only to photoshop.com. When I try to sign into photoshop.com, using my user ID and password, it says I should try again later or may have a system 414 error.  This hasn't happened in the past.  In addition, I'm not provided with other sharing options (i.e. Shutterfly and others) which used to be available.  Any answers?

This could be temporary issue can be caused by some server error at that time.  Please try again and see if it works.

When i open Elements 11, I don't get anywhere to log in.  Can I save my photos online in my account?

    Actually they just did:
Dear Customer, Your current Adobe® Photoshop® Elements or Adobe Premiere® Elements storage and sharing membership on Photoshop.com will move to a new service called Adobe Revel™. Your photos mean a lot to you. And making sure they're backed up and easy to access means a lot to us.
That's why starting April 2, 2013, we'll automatically move your photos to their new home – Adobe Revel.
You don't have to do a thing.
By doing nothing, you are saying it's okay for us to move your JPEG photos and your Elements membership/Photoshop.com account to Revel. We'll handle your photos with care and keep you updated along the way.
If your library contains file formats other than JPEG photos, please be sure to download your complete Photoshop.com library before June 18, 2013, as Revel doesn't yet support the following file types – any video, PSD, RAW, ACR, PNG, TIFF. Archive now.
The move will start after April 2, but if you want to start using Revel sooner, you can start your move now.
Rather not have us move your photos? Simply opt out by April 2, 2013 and download your complete library before we close on June 18, 2013. Archive now.
We are committed to supporting you throughout this transition to a new technology – Adobe Revel. Currently, Revel gives you more access to your photos than ever before – on the web, iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And this is just the beginning – we are planning to support additional platforms, as well as, popular file formats beyond JPEG and video. We are committed to delivering frequent Revel updates and to continually pushing the envelope to create the best experience for reliving your memories wherever you are.

  • Interested in selling photos

We recently decided to explore our options for selling photos on our own in addition to selling through stock agencies. Wondering if anyone knows of simple ways to create a site for selling our photos. We were hoping to do it through Aperture and our .mac account, but reading the manual and an Aperture book, it doesn't seem to be so cut and dry. Anyone have ideas on how to create our own archive through which we can sell our photos? Thanks!
    Nicole

I thought I'd suggest the easiest way to accomplish "e commerce" by utilizing any of the sites that are set up to do that already. To do the same on your own website, you'll need some serious development advise, then more advise on how to market the site. It's similar to what I've been trying to do for ever...sell my music on the web. Anyone can make a website, but how do people find it that want to purchase. I eventually went with a commercial site, http://cdbaby.com/ But, even then, you are still one of thousands of offerings in your field. It comes back the 'ole, "how do I make it?" How do I become successful? ...whoa, I think I've wandered off topic.
Something I really like is Rapidweaver, and I think the info available from their support people and their user forum probably have instruction on how to add e commerce to your site. It's basically an iWeb app on steroids (to use that "overused" phrase). I think it offers so much more in terms of customization potential than iWeb.

  • HT201317 Where do I go to see my photos online?

I have an iCloud account but if I want to see my photos online on my company PC where is the site I can log into?

    David,
you should see a symbol on the right side of the calendar name (a dot with curved lines, similar to those at the speaker symbol).
Right click/ctrl-click on the symbol and choose "Show calendar on .Mac". This should launch your browser with the necessary URL which yo can now bookmark.

  • How to back up photos online?

Hi. I want to back up my photos online using a service like Mozy. To use this service, I have to tell Mozy which folders from my MacBook Pro I want to back up. So I looked for the location where iPhoto stores my photos, and I believe I found them in user/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals. So I think I want to point Mozy to this folder. Does that sound right?
But I also found a folder named user/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Modified. Does anyone know the difference between this folder and the Originals folder? Both folders appear to have many of the same JPG photos in them.
Does anyone back up their their iPhoto library onto an online service? If so, what folders do you back up?
    Thank you

    Greetings,
To backup your entire iPhoto Library you want to backup Your User > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
This includes all your pictures plus all the other data that makes iPhoto iPhoto (Albums, Slideshows, Faces, Places, etc.). Backup the entire library if you want to have a working copy of the iPhoto Library.
Originals is where iPhoto stores all the original pictures.
Modified is where iPhoto stores all the pictures you have changed (cropped, red eye reduction, etc.).
    Hope that helps.

  • I cant share photos online -Nokia E75

I have problem with photo sharing online. try with Ovi-  every time some error. What can I do?

keep on ticking the photos box but as soon as I close the window it resets and we are back to square 1.
This is in the system/iCloud preference pane, right?  Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair both the disk permissions and the disk.  Reboot normally and try setting the System/iCloud preference again.

  • Making Offline photos "online"?

I have a bunch of photos that I imported from CDs. When I initially imported them, I chose to keep the full resolution files on the CD's. So in the Elements Organizer the thumbnails for these photos are marked to indicate that the photos are Offline.
I would now like to copy the full resolution photo files to my hard drive and have the Offline indicator removed from them in the Elements Oeganizer.
    How do I do this?
I know I could delete the original thumbnails and re-import the CDs, but then I would have to re-tag all the photos and re-create the Albums they were in.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Yes, using File > Move is the way to get your offline photos back online.
By the way, I strongly recommend not using the offline archiving feature of PSE.  A number of people have reported here that past versions of PSE had corrupted the locations of their offline photos (as recorded in the catalog).   Adobe tech support was of absolutely no help in either fixing the issue or providing a workaround.  They were eventually able to recover all the tagging and other metadata from the catalogs, but it was tedious.
So it's pretty risking using a feature that Adobe has clearly indicated by its deeds that it won't support.

  • Posting iPhone photos online

Is there a (free) way to take photos with the 3g iphone and then upload them online or add them as an attachment (e.g., attaching files to a UBB post) without the use of a PC? For example, if I'm traveling without my Powerbook and I want to post photos I take on my favorite bulletin board.
    I don't have MobileMe.
    Thanks!

i think its pretty obnoxious that your favorite bulletin board doesnt allow for email updates (blogger), or create an app for you to do so (countless photo apps in app store).
i also think its pretty obnoxious that my phone doesnt make my coffee in the morning or drive me around. i mean, i paid $500 for it, it should at least be able to do basic things like that.
and in case its not coming through loud and clear, </sarcasm>

  • Lost my phone, wondering if I can retrieve photos online

My phone fell out of my pocket in half a foot of snow and can't find it.  I will have to replace it or resort to activating my old phone, but I'm mostly concerned with my photos.  Does anyone know if it's possible they may be stored online?  The default is they store to my SD card...long shot, thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

They are stored online if you've backed them up somewhere online, like Backup Assistant Plus or another cloud service.

  • We have a satellite connection that restricts our download amount per day. Since watching videos on YouTube and viewing Facebook photos online counts as downloads, is there any way I can see how much each web page is in terms of MB or KB size?

Our satellite company's Fair Access Policy allows:  425 mb max per 24 hours, but it seems like we often go over that amount by just surfing the internet. We have 2 adults and 3 kids who use Mac computers. Is there a way to view the amount of KB's or MB's used after viewing a page? For instance: does looking at a Facebook page use 100 KBs? does looking at a YouTube video use 10 MBs?
    Thanks.

There are a few things you can do to cut down on bandwidth. I set Firefox never to check the cache with pages online, so that if I go back to a previous page, it does not need to download again, but can be pulled out of the cache.
    browser.cache.check_doc_frequency - set to 2 (never)
I use Flashblock to prevent Flash items from downloading automatically. If there is any Flash item you want to see, you click the icon over that space, and that one item will load but none of the others on the page will load until you want them to do so.
I use Adblock Plus to block ads. This saves bandwidth as well, since it stops banner ads from being loaded, and blocks popup ads as well.

  • HT4528 iPhone 5, Stretched Photos online. Annoying

I just got my iPhone 5. When ever I upload a photo to the internet it is very STRETCHED and distorted. It's very obnoxious, I want to know how I can fix this. Thanks.

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm just wondering (I have not tried this) but can the camera be deleted and than added back on to the phone??? And if you add a different camera app do the pictures still remained stretched?? I'm going to have to see. worth a try!
