SEM Balanced Scorecard - Trends

Hi Guys
I have been asked by a client about Trend Indicators in Scorecard. At the moment the Trend Indicator appears against each measure and indicates the trend period-on-period, but is there a way we can have Trend Indicators for the top-level status or score eg. Strategy or Perspective via the Analysis View?

Period in Personal view in SEM Balanced Scorecards

Hi all
I have a problem regarding Personal Views in SEM Balanced Scorecards. I have saved some Personal views, so that I can easily find the drilldown and selection I am interested in. The problem is, that the views are saved with the period initially selected, and when time passes, and I enter a new period, the views still contain the period initially saved, so I have to change alle views manually. Does anybody know how to make the period dynamic, so that saved views always shows current period?

Periodization - SEM Balance Scorecard

Hi,
We are implementing SEM Balance Scorecard and have a problem with periodization.
We are using Fiscal Variant V6 and the problem we are experiencing is that the Calculated and Restricted Key Figures feeding through to BSC is not calculating the KPI for each period.
Let's say our current period is 7 and the calculation for Labour turnover is defined as all Personnel Actions, that is Terminations for all 7 periods, divided by the average of all active employees, taken over 7 periods for the calculation of the average.
What we are expecting is a 'moving average' calculation that is different from period to period. Our column graph for the KPI is displaying the same value for each period 1 - 7, the value calculated for period 7 according to the definition of the the formula, which is incorrect. Could you please assist?

Hi,
I don't know how this would be done. I have some basic knowledge of the functioning of the virtual key figure but I don't see how I'd be able to calculate this.
At the moment I have a restricted key figure with amount, fiscal year variant, fiscal year period and value type.
I have a variable on fiscal year period to culmulate the values to the current period but the overall result for all 7 period are displayed even for period one.
% Operating Expenditure is calculated as actual costs / planned costs. How would this be done with a virtual key figure please?

SEM - Balance Scorecard: Run-time Variable for value

Hi Ravi,
Created a basic query with a key figure (Actual Capital Spend) and the characteristic value (Number of Households, this should be manually entered when the KPI is accessed on the scorecard by the user viewing the KPI). What has occurred in the design process is that the CPM variable for number of households does not show up when linking the query to the value field in the Measure. Only the variable folders are showing up.
Even if the CPM Variable does show up, I was thinking that this characteristic value has to be linked to a second value field so that I can divide the Actual Capital spend by the number of households. Would I be able to do this?

SEM - Balanced Scorecard Buffering ( UMB_BSC_BUF )

Hi all,
Need some serious help here.
Can anyone tell me more specific details about <b>Scorecard Buffering</b>? This can be achieved through report <b>UMB_BSC_BUF</b> or by creating a periodic job.<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/c4/58943a8948790ee10000000a11405a/frameset.htm">SAP HELP</a>
1- Where does the buffering take place in the system in terms of storage. In memory or is it writeten to a DB table, etc.?
2- Does this impacts overall system performance (reporting, backend, etc.)

Yes, as you can see the period is type P (Parameter). In this case you should
1) create your own parameter in table TVARVC (TYPE=P, numb=0000, LOW=<period value>
2) call the parameter in the variant attributes (set the "selection variable"=T and "name of variable"=the one you just created)
3) maintain the table entry by your own abap periodically (automatically with sy-datum reference)

   There is a need to implement SEM Balanced Scorecard for my client, NYSE.
   Thier current Balanced Scorecard is heavily customised.Is there a standard SAP SEM Balanced Scorecard available as part of Business Content ?

SEM-CPM Balanced Scorecard and time-variant results/scores

Hi everyone!
I have successfully created a basic Balanced Scorecard with SAP SEM 4.0. By configuring the "Value Fields" and using "Formula Result-Score Assignment", I have specified which results are equivilant to what score. As an example, a have defined that a process cycle time of 25 minutes is equivilant to a score value of 85 (out of 100) and a process cycle time of 20 minutes is equivilant to a score value of 100.
Since I want to use my Balanced Scorecard for strategic planning (along with SEM/BW-BPS), I want these result-score assignments to vary of the upcoming period. As an example, in 6 months time a process cycle time of 20 minutes should be a score of 100 (as above). But since I want to improve my operational performance, in 12 months time a cycle time of 17 should be 100 (as my process cycle time should have improved by then). In other words, my planning targets should be dynamic (depending on time) and not only static (always the same).
My question is now, how can I define different Result-Score Assignment (in other words: goals/targets) for different time horizons? Can I do that with integrating SEM/BW-BPS?

Balanced ScoreCard Problem

We are creating Balanced ScoreCard in SAP SEM System.
The steps which we are following are like this:
1) First we created Scorecard Elements like Strategies,Perpsectives and init etc. in UMC_CUST tc.
2) Now, I am creating a Measure in UMK_MB and in Datasource tab, when i assgin a Value field..the RFC Connection and Infoprovider and Report is not coming. (i have created a Value Field at umc_cpm_strat..and i checked the RFC connection also which supposed to be local system only.)
Can any body throw light on linkage between measure builder and Infoproviders(Transactional One)?
I have some Questions regarding CPM-BSC asked by users to me
1) Can initiatives be set with Measure?
2) Is it possible to display tachometer and trend chart comparisons between two score cards?
3) Can more than one score card be displayed at a time?
4)How difficult/easy is it to add columns to reports or score cards?
5) Is it possible to change the decimal points?
6) How difficult/easy is it to add a new metric or delete an old one
7) Is possible to develop personal views

This is very generic question, you have to detail your question.
Balanced score card is an aproach for business management. In SAP SEM-CPM has tools to reflect measures in balanced scorecard dicipline.

User Exits in Balance Scorecard

In the balance scorecard project (SEM 6.0 and BW 7.0) at our clients place, we need more details to be incorporated for a given metric and initiative as follows:
Metrics: Apart from the metric owner, we need to store data entry responsible, backup for data entry responsible, metric due date
Initiatives: Type of Initiative, Internal Order Number, Allocated Budget, Budget Spent, Forecasted End date of Initiative (different from End date of Initiative), Effort based progress, Status
We need to know whether there are any user exits provided in Balance Scorecard to put these fields on the screens and post data into the backend tables when saved. Any suggestions/comments are welcome. I will assign points to helpful posts. Also could someone please post the list of backend tables in Balance Scorecard?

Scorec card is a front end and there is no question of saving scorecard. Can you pl explain what do you mean when you say ""We need to know whether there are any user exits provided in Balance Scorecard to put these fields on the screens and post data into the backend tables when save "..
If you need to capture the info that you mentioned you need to write the exits at the source from where the scorecard gets data.
For your other question, try tables starting with UMC*

The SAP SEM Business Content contains industry-specific, predefined scorecard templates that support the introduction of a Balanced Scorecard..
There are Industry-Specific Balanced Scorecard Templates..
The templates contain industry-specific:
Strategic themes
Strategic objectives
KPIs
Causal relationships between strategic objectives.
As you have your KPI's activated ..already..only you need to go thru a special workbench (wizard functionality) that guides you by dialog through the definition of enterprise-specific KPI sets.

Balance scorecard material or documentation

Hi everybody,
I need material or documentation about the following topics:
- Platform required to have the Balance Scorecard. We have the ECC5.0 (ERP 2004) version and we haven't seen these tools (Which includes SAP_BW 3.5 component). If I'm not wrong the SAP module is SEM-CPM but I don't know what do we have to do to have it in our system.
- Steps required to build a Balance Scorecard from a system which only has installed the FI-CO modules.

The SEM BSC (Balanced scorecard ) is a BW add -in. The SEM BSC exists as a componernt on a BW datawarehouse.
So ask you basis about your BW installation.
After a Bw installation you could install and populate the standard business content ( infocubes, extractor,s etc) that are going to populate your SEM BCS balance scorecard environment.
THe BSC are basically a type of view on BW KPI - technically Key figures...
