The demo you loaded is for Weblogic server, not for glassfish. You can't just deploy the demo and run it.
I'm not even sure it has been done jet, but may be someone has successfully done it.
Have you searched (google) for a solution?

  • Business Rules and Business Intelligence in Java CAPS 6

    Dear All,
    I have two doubts.
    1. Is there any way to add a Business Rule component and write Business rules in Java CAPS 6? As you may know, this is possible through eInsight in JCAPS 5.1.2.
Is this feature readily available in Java CAPS 6? If yes, can you please let me know where it is?
    2. Are there any Business Intelligence tools in Java CAPS 6? If yes, what all things we can do with that?
    With warm regards,
    Sree.

    Sree,
It sounds like you are talking about a Rules Engine - not necessarily a Business Process Manager..
Also it depends on what you mean with "rule".
The approach I mentioned previously about IDS-Scheer's Aris meant that a Business Process is modelled in Aris - that is the focus is on the business developer. However the actual implementation of the business process would need to be developed by a Developer. Likewise if a change is performed in the Business Process it would need to be retrofit into CAPS for implementation.
When it comes to Rules Engines, Sun has a partnership with Yasu. Yasu have implemented their Rules Engine as a JBI SE, which would work with the JBI part of CAPS6, OpenESB or Glassfish ESB. More infor can be found at:: http://www.businesswireindia.com/PressRelease.asp?b2mid=12735.
I am not aware of any explicit "business intelligence" functionality in the CAPS -suite.. Looking at the Jasper Suite however, the CAPS suite does have ETL functionality, no built in reporting, but a Master Data Management System (http://developers.sun.com/docs/javacaps/products/sun-mdm-suite.jsp), which I belive could assist decently when it comes to data quality and data source prioritization concerns.
When it comes to Jaspersoft there are examples of how to build a CAPS6 JBI BAM solution using Jaspersoft's IReport (Netbeans Plugin), which in turn uses JasperReports.

  • Integrating Java caps with tuxedo

    Hi,
Could any one let me know the best way of integrating Java caps 6 with Tuxedo.
    Regards,
    Abdul

But the C code that gets called from Java doesn't seem to have access to the data known by the C code that called the Java.
I don't know exactly what you mean here, unless you're simply saying that the scope of your C data makes it inaccessible between functions.
Is there a way to pass pointers into Java?
Yep - Just treat the pointers as opaque types and wrap them in something large enough for the platform - for example a jlong. You need to be sure to be careful in managing the lifetime of the pointers with respect to the Java objects that hold onto them - for example, with function pointers that come from a dynamically loaded shared library or any data pointers that you might be passing around. You probably want to read the section on native peers in the JNI programmer's guide.
    God bless,

  • Problems With The  eGatetutorial Java Caps

Hello i'm learning to use Java caps and i use the tutorial but when i create my project all run but my output data has don't created i put the directoy where is my xml file c:\eGate\Project3\*.xml this is in the input file
and the output file i can't put the directory and only have s3_output.dat

    Please help thanks

I had a similar problem during class and we made the following modifications. I had this happen with both 5.1.1 and 5.1.2
    running local install.
on the inbound file eway e.g. eaFileIn under the parameter settings I had to change the "/" to a back slash "\"
    so from C:/temp to C:\temp
next we had to modify the file eway properties in the connectivity map
    On the inbound
    Input file name *Input.dat
Polling interval 5000 **Note you can set this to what you want 5 seconds works for me
    Remove EOL set to False
    Multiple records per file False
    Maximum bytes per record 4096
    Encoding "blank"
    SerialMode False
    Resend On Error False
For the outbound same thing for the directory in the environment explorer
Output file name the name you want to give it, if you don't need to have xml, you can put a "." dat
    e.g. FileOut%d.dat
    Hope this helps,

  • I Need Information about  Open Source Java Client/Server Instant Messaging

I need your valuable help and collaboration with the following issue:
I need to know where can find a robust Open Source Java Instant Messaging Client/Server Application.
I thank in advance for their valuable time. And for the attention and the collaboration lent to me.

I was going to mention that right off, but since the OP is clearly unaware of the search engines on the Web, I thought I'd give him a hand. Jabber works pretty good - I tried it a while back and some of the clients were ... quirky.

  • Why opening from java the rpt search for a JNDI when it's setup for a DNS ?

I downloaded CR for eclipse 2.
All is 'quite' working froma a java app.
i've only a problem with an 'jndi name search error'. I'll try to explain.
In the RPT i use a DSN connection to a sql server into a differente machine. When I open directly the rpt, all is working.
From java code, i'll open the report, but when i try to export  to pdf iit tell me about an error 'jndi name search error', with the name of the DSN connection i setup.
Why? Why opening rpt all is working, but opening from code NOT is working ?
What's the difference from two opening methods? Why an .rpt opened from java cannot just open the connection like when opened from cristal report !?
*My question is: why opening from java the rpt search for a JNDI when it's setup for a DNS connection ?! *

The .rpt has been originally created from an ancient version of Cristal report. probably the '8'.
In an italian software called 'Business', the .rpt is populated for printing of invoices and similar docs.
My society is trying to 'integrate' our software with the .rpt used from our customer.
So we want simply open .rpt, add a new logo, set the selection for record and save as pdf.
We so bought Cristal report 2008 (v.12 ), opened the .rpt, saved (so it 's now in a supported version).
The sql server is located at 10.1.2.40, and is a Microsoft Sql Server.
In my development pc I've installed Cr 12. I added a User DSN to point to Sql server at 10.1.2.40, at right DB with username and password. Opening from my development machine the .rpt and 'running' it, it display the data. Ok !
    I downloaded CR4 Eclipse 2.
I open report using the unmanaged sdk. (to access it through file system, not via RAS), Ok.
    I set selection record. Ok.
I execute .export with 'PDF' for format option and here I get an exception: the JNDI name 'CPR'  is not found. Where CPR is the DSN name setup into .rpt from Cristal Report 2008.
So, no, i'm not trying to using the designer from Eclipse, but from the full application. But I must use the rpt at runtime to export some rendered records.
What must I do to do this?
CR4E only supports java based connections, so it is looking for the JDBC/JNDI name and won't look at the DSN's.
How Can i setup at runtime a JDBC / JNDI connection ?
I already have a 'connection' from my code to the sql server, using sqlserver jdbc driver v. 4 from microsoft. And executing query I see the results. So i have right driver, ip, db name, user name and password
But is there a way to simply tell at runtime to my .rpt to use THIS connection? Or a similar connection...
Thanks in advance for help provided to us. (we bought a CR license only for this work...)

  • Legalities of modifying open source Java classes in a closed source App

If there is a better forum for this thread please let me know. I looked and looked and couldn't find any place where it seemed to fit.
Simply put, I want to know the legal ramifications of modifying open source Java classes which have been included in a commercial closed source application.
The specifics are my problem with the javax.servlet.http.Cookie classes interpretation with RFC 2019 in regards to acceptable cookie names. I currently am debating that in a thread here:
    http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5313146
I am using Adobe ColdFusion which is a J2EE application server running as a servlet in Macromedia JRun. JRun parses request headers and creates instances of the javax.servlet.http.Cookie class for each cookie. (An error is thrown from the constructor if the cookie name is not accepted)
I was able to work around the problem by modifying the code in the Cookie class, compiling it, and using jar.exe util in my SDK to update the new class into the jrun.jar file. I blogged it here:
    http://www.codersrevolution.com/index.cfm/2008/7/15/No-Cookie-For-You-Second-Solution
My problem is I'm not sure if what I did conforms to the license for ColdFusion. Technically JRun is a closed source program I am not allowed to modify, but all I changed was a open source class from Sun. I didn't even need to decompile anything.
I have Googled in vain, but I can't seem to find any information that applies to modifying pieces of open sourced code contained inside of a closed source application.

    bdw429s wrote:
"I thought it was straightforward and I didn't feel that lawyers were necessary. But you didn't seem to want to do that."
I'm unclear on whether you are implying that I didn't want to hire a lawyer or that I didn't want to read the licenses myself and make a decision. If you meant the former, you're darn right. I'm not paying anyone a dime to satisfy my personal acedemic curiosity concerning a random project I've been messing with in my spare time that isn't related to to any job or business decision. I'm simply looking for information because that's I do when I don't understand how something works. First, I Google the hell out of it and if I can't turn up satisfactory answers (or any at all) I find an applicable forum and ask there.
If you were implying the latter (that I didn't want to read the licenses myself) then you haven't been reading my posts. I stated to jschell that I have no problem attempting to figure out a license agreement on my own. In fact, I have read the ColdFusion agreement from Adobe before posting here. I talks about modifying the software, but I still don't think it is crystal clear about whether third part code falls under it's own license AND Adobie's or just its own license. Then that is the point at which you must do one of the following
    1. Consult a lawyer.
    2. Decide to allow for a liberal interpretation (thus you can use the code) and understand that you personally are liable if your interpretation is wrong.
    3. Decide to allow for a conservative intepretation to avoid liable on your part.
Regardless of what anyone says here it won't remove your own liability.
    >
The source for the java.servlet.http.Cookie class stated that it is release under the Apache license 2.0 whcih I read up on. I will admit I'm not actually sure how to tell the exact verison of the Java Servlet API classes that JRun is built on other than to cross reference which version of the servlet API came out with which version of Java, but that is a suspect method. I have been programming for more than 8 years, but I'm relatively new to the Java landscape.
I'm not looking for handouts here. I know this was a tough subject and I was prepared for NO ONE to respond and I would have been ok with that. I have no problems making decisions on my own and I have no intention of passing the buck to anybody.
Here's the thing though. A useful response is one that states some facts (or opinions), references a similar peice of software for comparison, a court case, or provides a few links to some open source-type websites were I might find more information about my issue.
Telling me to hire a lawyer and chastising me for "pass the buck" is doing about as much good as Linux snobs telling people to RTFM.
    Wrong.
A lawyer is the best and most correct answer.
And it is the first answer that should always be given with these sorts of questions.
If you choose not to accept the best and most correct answer then that is up to you.
I understand that a large number of people on public forums are lazy sponges who wish someone would just post all the code they need, but assure you I am not that person. I'll admit I don't know much about open source and I'm not sure where to start looking since I seem to have a scenario which is not really discussed much on the web. All I am looking for is information and sincere help. And presumably you also understand that we certainly can't give you legal advice but also it would be foolhardy for you to accept it as well.
You learn by reading many license agreements and reading as much about legal situations involving computers and related technical cases as you can.
And until you are comfortable making such decisions yourself without asking then the only useful answer is ask a lawyer.

  • Java CAPS (JCAPS 5.1.3) & AS/ 400 with OS/400 V4R4

    Hi,
I wish to connect the data base (DB2) of a AS/400 with OS/400 4.4.0 through Java CAPS 5.1.3. How to do this (if it's possible)?
I downloaded (to prove) the DB2 Connect (Trial) and I installed it:
    DB2 Connect for iSeries
Extends iSeries data across platforms and to multiple sources including mobile without moving your data and provides simplified and modern application development environments.
Product overview: DB2 Connects provides robust, highly scalable communication infrastructure for connecting Web, Windows, UNIX (including Linux), OS/2 and mobile applications to S/390 and AS/400 data.
