Send a file from my powerbook to my Vista PC wirelessly

I have a Powerbook g4 1.67 running 10.4.10 tiger.
I have a Pc running the latest version of vista.
I have a wireless router connecting the two (iconnect 625W).
They both have a connection to the internet through this router.
I have about 20gb of data I want to move from my powerbook to my pc.
Any ideas?
Stuff Ive tried (there is more but i dont want to spend much more than the 4 hours ive already spent searching the net and mucking around trying to get this to work)...............
1) lol i just got it to work using a lan cable direct from my powerbook to the pc and then clicking in my powerbook - network - joelharvey-pc - then my computers password - then the folder i had enabled file sharing on could be mounted.
But just out of interest i will post anyway because it would be good if i could just do this wirelessly (i have windows onecare firewall but through all of this it has been disabled - id rather not disable it every time)

That helps. Your setup sounds fine, so maybe something needs to be tweaked.
Let's start with the basics:
1. Having both your machines on the same IP network makes things easier. That's to say that both computers have IP addresses that start with 192.168.1.xxx.
2. Having them both in the same Windows WORKGROUP helps as well. By default, they are both members of WORKGROUP. Unfortunatley, I'm not familiar enough with Vista to help you configure it but in Mac OS X you'll set this in /Applications/Utilities/Directory Access --> SMB.
3. Also, Vista has different default security settings from Windows XP. Have a look at this page for details of someone else's setup <http://www.jonsimpson.co.uk/weblog/2007-04-15/smb-file-sharing-to-a-windows-vi sta-ultimate-pc-from-os-x-104.html>.
I'm sure I've read several posts here about Vista and Mac OS X file sharing. If you haven't already, be sure to search this forum for recent posts.
Hope this helps!

    My requirement is to send a file from FTP to D3(External) server.

    I want to send the file created by the program thru FTP to D3 server.

    If u have any program,Plz send it...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sumi,
    You could do it so that you create a .bat or .cmd script to your server which does your ftp transfer.
    To do this you must use sm69 to create a external operating system command which you can call from FM SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE. To SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE you the file you need to transfer as a parameter.
    What happens is that your abap program passes the file to windows batch script (.bat .cmd) which will then do the transfer for you.
    Here's a sample of ftp-script for windows:
    echo open IP_ADDRESS_TO_YOUR_SERVER > c:zftp_transfer.ftp
    echo USERNAME>> c:zftp_transfer.ftp
    echo PASSWORD>> c:zftp_transfer.ftp
    echo put YOUR_FILE>> c:zftp_transfer.ftp
    echo quit>> c:zftp_transfer.ftp
    ftp -s:c:zftp_transfer.ftp
    also take a look here for more details:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=96269
    Ok, this might be a bit trivial but if your server is unix/aix etc.. Instead of using batch script you must do a shell script.

    Ville

    That's a kernel panic and indicates some sort of problem either with the computer's hardware or software. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. It would help to post the panic log: Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic.
    Meanwhile, try booting the computers into Safe Mode then restarting normally. If this is simply a disk repair or cache file problem then this may fix it.
    You can also try creating a new admin account on each computer then booting into the new account. This would help determine if the problem is related to a bad file in the user accounts.

  • Sending .xlsx file from ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    How can we send .XLSX file from ABAP.
    I have done as suggested in note 1459896 but it's not working.
    I have added the header table with such value
    concatenate '&SO_FILENAME=' lv_filename into lv_text_line.
      append lv_text_line to lt_att_head.
    passing header table to
    lo_document->add_attachment( exporting i_attachment_type = 'XLS'
                                      i_attachment_subject = 'AttachmentFilename'
                                      i_attachment_size = lv_size
                                      i_attachment_header = lt_att_head
                                      i_att_content_hex    = binary_content ).
    but when I try to open it in SOST it says," file format or extension is not valid " .
    Do you think if I send thsi mail to outlook it will work. ?
    Thanks
    Willi

    But SAP note says 1459896 , it can be done
    using
    filename = 'attachment.xlsx'
    concatenate '&SO_FILENAME=' lv_filename into lv_text_line.
      append lv_text_line to lt_att_head.
    but still not working.

  • Can we send .csv file from sap srm system to sap pi?

    Hi Experts,
    we have 3 options send the data from sap systems to sap pi.i. e.proxy,idoc and rfc only
    How can we send .csv file from sap srm to sap pi?
    Regards,
    Anjan

    Anjan
    As you know SAP SRM and SAP PI are different boxes.
    *_Option 1:_*
    we need a shared AL11 directory in between SAP SRM and SAP PI (Ask basis to setup shared folder). Place / Populate the file in the folder from SAP SRM and then it can be picked through sender file communication channel.
    In this case you (Basis team) will share one folder which is visible from the AL11 transaction of both the systems (SRM and PI). You will drop .csv file using some report or program from SRM at this location and from PI you can read that file using File communication channel (NFS mode).
    Option 2:
    Setup a FTP at SRM environment and expose some folder which can be accessible from PI. Use sender file communication channel at PI end to pick the file.
    You can use this option incase sharing of folder is not possible (due to network / other constrains). Here FTP server is required to expose any folder as FTP so as it can be accessible from internet (remote location). You need to expose some folder at SRM machine.  You will drop .csv file using some report or program from SRM at this location. Now PI can fetch the file from that location using  sender file communication channel (FTP Mode) providing user credentials.
    Hope it clears now.
    Regards
    Raj

  • How do you send a File from the Clinent End To the Server?

    Hi, I'm jut learing Java and am tring to send a file from the Cleints end to the Servers' end, I know how to do this in Php, but its some what different in Java, i know where is a File Class which i can post the information into but for some reason it woudn't work
    <%@ page import=" javax.servlet.*, java.io.File" %>
    <%
    String fullname, emailadds, genre, filename;
    fullname = request.getParameter("Name");
    emailadds = request.getParameter("email");
    genre = request.getParameter("genre");
    filename = request.getParameter("clip");
    File file = new File();
    file.isFile();
    if (file.isFile())
    out.print("File is true");
    else
    out.print("file ain't there");
    %>
    just as a tester i tried this to see if file is being read, but it won't compile
    I keep getting this error sign! Have i missed out a lib or somthing?
    \upload_jsp.java:52: cannot find symbol
    symbol : constructor File()
    location: class java.io.File
    File file = new File();

    Sham, dont show your anger... and dont use provocative words...
    Now, coming to your problems.
    your jsp/html should contain some thing like
    <form action="/uploadServlet" method="post">
    <input type="file" name="file"/>
    <input type ="submit" value="upload"/>
    </form>and for servlet code, refer to
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=516176&messageID=2461686
    or the easiest way would be to use 'commons-fileupload' api available on http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/

  • Send binary files from SAP System to SAP XI/PI

    Dear experts,
    in our SAP ERP-System we have a link to JPG files which are stored in an archive. We want to send these files with some other information to our SAP XI and then store them on a file server. Is there a way to send a MIME attachment via RFC? Or is there another way to send binary files from SAP ERP to SAP XI? We want to avoid polling the files on OS level.
    Thanks and regards,
    David

    Most recommended way is to go for ABAP proxies. They support attachments.

  • Transfer of Files from Old Powerbook

    How can I transfer the files from the hard drive of a Powerbook 520 to my iBook G3?

    Hi Tommy,
    Some possibilities:
    The PowerBook 520 has built-in Ethernet (an AAUI port). You would need an external AAUI to RJ-45 adapter (called a transceiver) in order to connect the computer to a network. See also the manual (here) and this article.
    For smaller files, you could use 1.44 MB floppies and a USB floppy drive connected to the iBook.
    If the PB 520 has the optional PCMCIA Expansion Module, a CompactFlash (or a different kind of) memory card could be used in an appropriate PC Card adapter. A card reader (typically, USB) would then be required at the iBook.
    If the PB 520 has Internet software and a modem (internal or external), you could send the files as email attachments.

  • Error message when trying to send .dng file from Lr to Ps

    If I am working in Lr (5.4) and try to send a .dng file from Lr to Photoshop CC (reinstalled latest version from Adobe.com today, 4/13/2014), I get this message: "
    Adobe Photoshop CC cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop CC works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X."
    I uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop CC today and that did not fix the problem. I am in OS 10.8.5 on an iMac. Thanks!

    Hello,
    Programs that run in the background cannot address controls on the frontend. This is why you are not able to run a Program using SAP Office Integration which is a Frontend Control and can be used only with the SAP Gui. Since background process cannot make use of UI screens or actions hence it's not possible use SAP Office Integration in background processing. The reason for this is explained in note 674060. Therefore sending emails using a batch macro is not supported.

  • Sending xml file from client to servlet

    Hi,
    I am writing the server component of an applcation, such that it will receive xml files from the clients(standalone application similar to javaSwing stuff but it's coded in C#), and the servlet will have to extract the data from the xml file and update the mySql database. it will also fulfill the client's request for xmlFiles (and extract data from DB, format to xml file and send back to client)
    I'm new to implementing the servlet receiving files from clients so would need some help.
    I've got 3 questions to ask:
    1) How does the servlet receive/returns the xml file from the client as a series of httpPost request/response. Do i send a File or the file's contents as a String to/from the client?
    2) Is it also a must to use socket for the file transfers? I have read in other posts about sockets as well as HttpURLConnection but i don't quite understand.
    3) When I send a file back to the client(client is standalone application written in C# whereas server is coded in java), what do i specify for the HttpResponse.setContentType() in my servlet? (i'm returning the xml file to client)
    Would really appreciate for any help rendered. If you have any useful links, would appreciate them too. Thanks a lot.

  • How do I transfer files from a PowerBook 3400c to a MacBook Pro

    The subject header says it all.
    I've got an old Mac PowerBook 3400c (OS 8.6) and a MacBook Pro (OS 10.4.8) and I'll like to transfer files from the 3400c to the Pro. How do I do this?
    Thanks.

    lol, I had a 1400 a few years back.
    Honestly, your best bet is to email them to an account you can access with your Macbook ...if you don't have a lot of course. Other option would be to save to floppy's and find a 'USB powered' floppy drive to get them to your book - textedit should be able to open any word files you have saved (not the formatting though).
    I found this from this Apple site...
    Mac OS X 10.4 and later don't support Personal File Sharing (or other AFP) over Appletalk, though by initiating the connection from the opposite direction you could still achieve an IP connection from a Mac OS 8 computer to a sharing Mac OS X computer.
    Looks a little complicated though.
    Good Luck!
