Send a Serializable java object as a payload in SOAPMessage

Hi,
I want to send any kind of java object (Serializable) as payload in SOAPMessage.
I need the best solution to achive this.
Regards,
Riyaz..

Lenine,
Pardon me if I am stating the obvious here, but since you are talking about a java stored procedure, then you can use the "internal driver" to connect to the database. Have you read the relevant section of the documentation?
(Note: Since I saw no details in your post regarding the Oracle version you are using, I have assumed the latest version, hence the above link.)
Good Luck,
Avi.

  • How to store a Non Serializable Java Object ?

    Hi..
    I have a non serializable java object which I want to store in the Oracle database and retrieve it. Can anyone help me with how to go about doing this ?
    many thanks in advance
    Ragavan

    If you share the same JVM then its possible, but I doubt that is the case. If you don't share the JVM then its
    impossible to share an object between two apps.
    But if all your attempting to do is duplicate the object in the other app then I spose it is possible, as long as
    you can reconstruct the object from information that you can interegate from the object.
    For example, if you have App A, and App B. WIthin App A is a Double d object. Then you could get the
    value of the Double by doing:
    d.doubleValue()
    write the double to a file/socket/stream, read the file/socket/stream at the other end, create a new Double
    via Double d = new Double(parsedValue);
    Now the two Apps will have a Double d object that represent the same value via a a.equals(b) == true, but
    they will not refer to the same object within memory/jvm.
    James.

  • How to persist an entity with (any) Serializable Java Object as a field?

    Hello,
    I've understood, that in addition to basic and primary types, an entity bean can have basically any serializable object as its field. I just can't get it working. All I want, is just to have an entity bean with, for example, a HashMap or Properties as one of the its fields. And afterwards, when I'd query the bean again from the persistent storage, it would have the HashMap or Properties fields set just as they were while persisting the bean. So the basic functionality.
    So far, the only way I've gotten this working, is by defining the field as byte[] and then by using ObjectInput/OutputStreams and ByteArrayInput/OutputStreams I can read/write my HashMap or Properties as a byte[] and persist the entity... Not very clever, is it :)
    I've tried to annotate the field with @Lob but it eventually ends up with casting problems when fetching the data from the persistent storage, because TopLink gets a blob, a byte array from the persistent storage and doesn't know how to convert it into HashMap or Properties like I want it to.
    This was close to mine, but still didn't get it working..

    Samuli

    Hello,
    Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. The ID used for the entity does not need to match the actual database constraints, so you can use any mapping in the entity as the ID as long as its value will be unique. If it is not unique, you will run into problems when EclipseLink thinks the entity already exists, performing an update instead of an insert.
    Can you describe the performance problems you are having, and what type of sequencing you are using? It is possible to improve performance using batch writing and sequence pre-allocation.
    See http://wiki.eclipse.org/Optimizing_the_EclipseLink_Application_(ELUG)#How_to_Use_Batch_Writing_for_Optimization
    and http://wiki.eclipse.org/Optimizing_the_EclipseLink_Application_(ELUG)#Table_11-11 for some of the options available.

  • Serializing Java Objects to XML files

    Hi,
    We looking for SAP library which can serialize Java Objects into XML files.
    Can you point us were to find it ?
    We have found such open source library called "XStream" at the following link
    http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2004/08/18/xstream.html
    Is it allowed to use that library inside SAP released software ?
    Thanks

    How about https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/83f6d2fb-0c01-0010-a2ba-a2ec94ba08f4 [original link is broken] [original link is broken]? Depends on your use cases...
    Both are supported in SAP NW CE 7.1.

  • Sending Custom Java Objects over XML!!

    Hello all !
    Can anybody please tell me how can I send custom Java Objects through XML? For example we can set attributes for a node using the setAttribute method, it accepts only strings, also the setTextContent method requires text and sets the node's value.Can I some way set my own Java object as the value of a particular node or attach it to the node?
    Thanks in advance.

    So I should rather go for Marshalling or Serialization or is there any other work-around possible?I don't know. You didn't say what you had against text formats. Since all Java objects are composed of primitives when you get right down to the bottom, everything in Java can be serialized as text versions of those primitives. So you're going to have to explain why you think a work-around is necessary at all.

  • Setting workflow payload as Java object

    Hello,
    The documentation for CQ workflows indicates that a Java object can be passed as the payload data for a workflow process.  I have a Java class that implements the WorkflowProcess interface and have hooked it up so I can invoke it programmatically.
    However the documentation does not give any insight on the "payload type" options other than "JCR_PATH".  If I use JCR_PATH then it expects the Object passed to be a string (a node path obviously).  Passing anything else will cause a class cast exception. Using any payload type other than JCR_PATH results in the log message "com.day.cq.workflow.impl.jcr.WorkflowManager No payload set" and the process does not get invoked correctly.  They show up in the Workflow instances UI as RUNNING and have no payload (basically stuck).
    Any help?

    That's a reasonable limitation of the implementation behind the interface. Just serialize your payload into a JCR node (or a node structure) and then add this node as payload to the workflow. The WF steps then process this node.
    A possible explanation for this: A workflow is guaranteed to be executed exactly once. So at the end of every workflow step the payload must be serialized to the repository to ensure that the next step can be repeated if it fails for any reason. So you can either serialize it yourself and upfront (the workflow then just updates this node struecture) or you would need some OR mapper here, which does this job for you. I prefer the first approach :-)
    kind regards,
    Jörg

  • Send Java objects through a socket

    I want to send some java objects to a J2SE server from a J2me socket. In normal j2me socket there is no way of putting whole obejct to the output stream. Is there any way that you can send a object from a socket ? Please advice..
    Thanks.

    Check this article on making serializable objects in MIDP. If the objects you want to send receive across the network implement this, then you can easily transform them into byte arrays and back to objects so they can be sent across a network.

  • Bug in Java objects not serializable

    I plan to use the latest version TopLink 10.1.3.1.0 with Oracle Database 10g (10.2.x).
    Do I still have to use the “Type Conversion” mapping as I had to do in order to address the reported non-serializable bug exiting in TopLink (9.0.4.5). See the link for the bug description:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/1012_solaris/relnotes.1012/relnotes/toplink.htm#CEGEBDEG
    My Java object instance variable is defined as java.sql.Timestamp and the corresponding data type on the Oracle DB is defined as TIMESTAMP(6). Can I use the direct-to-field mapping from now on with new TopLink 10.1.3.1.0 without the serializable issue? If I still have to use the Type Conversion mapping, please help provide some detail about the mapping.
    Many thanks for any help.

    From what I can understand from your reply, I can use the direct-to-field mapping for Java class attribute of java.sql.Timestamp to the Oracle DB 10.2.x data type of TIMESTAMP(6) without any issue of not serializable. Please confirm. Many thanks!
    By the way, I am having the same issue (Java objects not serializable) with Oracle DB 10.1.x when I use the direct-to-field mapping. It seems to me that this is more than the Oracle 9i JDBC driver.
    If I have to do this with TopLink 10.1.3.1.0 + Oracle 10.2.x, I plan to use the Type Conversion with:
    Java class attribute: java.sql.Timestamp
    DB data type: oracle.sql.TIMESTAMP
    Is this the proper way to do it? Please confirm.

  • Sending Java object using E-Mail

    Dear Experts,
    In my application I am trying write java Object in a file. Then I have to attach that file with an E-Mail. In the receiver side I have to download the file and read the Java Object from file.
    The Problem is , when I am sending and receiving mail using outlook Express, My file is reduced by some Kbs(Example , I am sending 66kb but I am receiving only 64Kb).
    If any of you have some ideas to solve the above problem, please let me know.
    With Thanks
    Panneer

    Perhaps you are trying to send binary but e-mail must be in text or the data will get filtered/mangled.

  • Sending Java Objects to Flex

    Hi All ,
       I have a Flex+Java Application , which is running fine , and i am sending the List of employess to Flex from my Java(Struts) like :(In flex i am using HTTPService)(Employee is a java bean)
    XStream xstream = new XStream();
    EmpDAO dao=new EmpDAO();
    ArrayList<Employee> empList=null;
    empList=(ArrayList<Employee>) dao.getEmployees();
    response.setContentType("text/xml");
    xstream.toXML(empList,response.getWriter());
    This is working fine , but now my requirement is to send java Objects to Flex.
    Is there any way to send Java objects to Flex ??
    Please help me...

    Looks like the properties in your Java class are having
    default scope. Please make sure the getters and setters for the
    properties are public and are following Java beans naming
    conventions. Can you also try creating a DataPoint class in the
    Flex application and map it to the respective Java class. One more
    thing is that, can you change the type of "data" varible in the
    Flex application to ArrayCollection.
    Hope this helps.

  • Saving java objects without serialization

    Hi!
    I want to save a lot of java objects to file, and be able to restore the data structure that these java objects compose.
    The obvious way to do that, is to use some kind of serialization I guess. But, as I see it, the problem with this approach is that as the data structure expands and new classes are added and present classes are changed (even the name of the classes) this approach fails. If the user has an old data structure that he/she wants to restore there will be a problem with e.g. ClassCastException and the like.
    Now I am wondering if someone could give me some hints of how to solve this problem. What approach should I use instead. Is XML the right way to do it? Someone who has any experience with these problems?
    I would really appreciate some help!
    Best regards
    Lars

    Hi, Lars, funny you should mention this issue. I am
    dealing with the exact same problem at work. Every
    time I release a new version of my software, users
    cannot load files they saved with the previous
    version. This is a big problem !
    And, like you, I am toying with the XML solution.
    On the downside, saving these objects in an XML format
    will take more memory, as XML can be (and should be?)
    textually descriptive. Those ASCII tags and such will
    probably treble the file size of their streamlined
    "serialized" predecessors.
    But memory is cheap, eh ?
    On the plus side, your XML parser can be (by it's nature)
    forgiving if new fields have been added or old ones taken
    away. And that is why Serializable is giving be a headache
    to begin with !
    Two other thoughts cross my mind ...
    For exceedingly large files, a SAX parser (vice DOM) will
    only have a bit 'o the structure in memory at a time, instead
    of having the whole kit and kaboodle in memory (my understanding
    of DOM).
    Also, nothing is stopping me from taking a gander at some of
    the Zip packages ... now where did I run across them ? java.io ? ...
    where once I write out the XML file (saving my objects), I could
    compress 'em for the user, too :-) I seem to recall a ZipStream or
    something while scanning some of the (JDK 1.4?) packages.
    I am looking forward to your response, and those of other interested
    readers sharing their thoughts on this topic, too !

  • Sending and parse javascript object variable to java variable

    can anyone help me how to send and parse javascript object variable from client to java variable on servlet. Here is what i mention about:
    suppose i have object variable var_js with it's properties:
    <script>
    var var_js = {
    id: 'var_js1',
    name: 'this is var javascript',
    allow_value_type: ['int', 'string', 'object']
    </script>
    /* after processing javascript object to java var, that i hope you guys may help me, it's java var (var_java) become something like*/
    var_java.id = "var_js1";
    var_java.name = "this is var javascript";
    var_java.allow_value_type = {"int", "string", "object"}

    You could have this html page:
    <html>
    <script>
    var var_js = {
    id: 'var_js1',
    name: 'this is var javascript',
    allow_value_type: ['int', 'string', 'object']
    function send()
    document.getElementById("id").value = var_js.id;
    document.getElementById("name").value =var_js.name;
    document.getElementById("allow_value_type").value =var_js.allow_value_type;
    document.form.submit();
    </script>
    <form name="myForm" action="http://localhost:8080/servlet/myServlet" method="post" >
    <input id="id" type="hidden" value="">
    <input id="name" type="hidden" value="">
    <input id="allow_value_type" type="hidden" value="">
    <input id="cmdGo" type="button" value="Button" onClick="send()">
    </form>
    </html>
    Then have a servlet like this:
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class myServlet extends HttpServlet {
    public void doPost( HttpServletRequest request,
    HttpServletResponse response )
    throws ServletException, IOException
    String id = request.getParameter("id");
    String name = request.getParameter("name");
    String allowed_value_type = request.getParameter("allowed_value_type");
    Var_java var_java = new Var_java(id,name,allowed_value_type);
    //and have you java object
    class Var_java
    String id;
    String name;
    String allowed_value_type;
    public var_java(String id,String name,String allowed_value_type)
    this.id=id;
    this.name=name;
    this.allowed_value_type=allowed_value_type;
    well...something like that i think.
    Hope it helps.

  • Is it possible to send Java Object as parameter to an applet

    Is there a way to communicate to the applet using java objects instead of String parameters.
    can we do the following while invoking an applet
    <applet code=some.class>
    <param name=name value=object/>
    </applet>
    in applet
    Object obj = (Object) getParameter("name");
    Please le me know if you have any suggestions.
    Thanks!

    in the applet:
    URL url = new URL("mypage.jsp?somearg=somevalue");
    URLConnection conn = url.openConnection();
    conn.connect();
    ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(conn.getInputStream());and in the JSP (although servlets would be better for this):
    <%@page import="java.io.*, java.util.*"
    %><% // This is important... if you are going to use JSP, you can't allow any newlines,
    // which is why servlets are better for this type of thing...
    String somearg = request.getParameter("somearg");
    ObjectOutputStream objOut = new ObjectOutputStream(response.getOutputStream());
    objOut.writeObject(someObject);
    objOut.flush();
    objOut.close();

  • Persistenance for Java Objects Using Toplink

    Hi All Happy New Year
    I am trying the a tutorial in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 called
    Provide Persistenance for Java Objects Using Toplink.
    I have followed the instructions and get the following error.
    com.evermind.reflect.UndeclaredExceptionTypeException: oracle.oc4j.rmi.OracleRemoteException
         at __Proxy1.persistEntity(Unknown Source)
         at acme.ejb.session.EmpSessionClient.main(EmpSessionClient.java:29)
    oracle.oc4j.rmi.OracleRemoteException: Invocation error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: acme.ejb.session.EmpSession.persistEntity(java.lang.Object)
    The release notes mention TopLink POJO's Must Implement java.io.Serializable When Returned From a Session Bean's Remote Interface (4902787) When creating a session bean facade for TopLink POJO objects, you must implement java.io.Serializable for each of the TopLink POJO objects returned from the SessionBean facade through a remote interface. This is typically required when using ADF Swing, a EJB Sample Client, or when your EJB Session Bean resides on a separate application server from the client. You can also tell you you need to implement java.io.Serializable when you get the following exception:
    com.evermind.reflect.UndeclaredExceptionTypeException:
    /oracle.oc4j.rmi.OracleRemoteException/
    at __Proxy1.[Your Class Name Here] (Unknown Source)
    The workaround is to manually edit each POJO object to implement java.io.Serializable.
    I have only one POJO which is declared as follows:
    public class EmpInfo implements Serializable {
    Can anybody help me understand what I need to do to get it to work?
