Send a video in my library as a Video Message

The title says everything: Allow me to send a video already in my video library as a Video Message.

A few days ago, my girlfriend was traveling with her family, and I was in charge of taking care of their dogs. All of the sudden, one of the dogs started to play, run, you know, do dog stuff that we all love to see. I took my Lumia and recorded this using the camera app. It's a natural thing to do in those situations. I tried to send the video using Skype, but I was unable to select it from my camera roll, so I used another messaging app. This is a problem because we only chat using Skype. I don't want to use another app in those situations. What I mean is, video messages should work not only in those "I will send a video message now". Things happen out of nowhere, out of our control, and I want to send those moments too.

I have been trying to send a video message to two or three people on my contact list.  Is it possible to do this by adding a name to the list on the message or can I send the same message to a second person after sending it to the first?  Or do I have to record a second and third message, if I want to send it to 2 or 3 people on my contact list?

  • Can you send pic/video messages in texts?

i don't see the option to send pic/vid messages in the sms app...

Not yet. Apple have said sending pics will be in the next version of iPhone OS (3.0). Nothing has been said about video, but then you can't create video on the current iPhone.

  • I am unable to send a video message since downloading the Droid X update last week.

Before the update, I could send videos in 15 sec. clips.  Now, I cannot send one at all...it says "message size limit reached"  what does that mean and how can I fix the problem so that I can send a short video via text message? I have shortened the video to 10 seconds and it still will not send.    If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it!

There are size restrictions in what you can send ...  not sure why it worked before and not now for the same size though.  What is the actual size of the file you're trying to send???  You can upload to YOUTUBE and share from there - and YOUTUBE accepts larger files.

  • Video Message not Sending

I sent my friend a video message, and for the past 24 hours it has been stuck at 99% and simply wont send.  There has been no error message.  I tried restarting Skype and restarting my computer.  Now, the icon has even turned black and I'm starting to think it isn't even on the Skype server or anything... Also, is there any way for me to view the video while it's sending?

Ok so I found a way to send the video message.
For Windows users, follor this guy's tutorial.
    http://www.petri.com/save-skype-video-messages.htm
For Mac users, the porcces is similar but finding the files can be a bit more difficult if you dont know exactly what to look for.
    Start by downloading http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/files/sqlitebrowser/3.4/sqlitebrowser-3.4.0.dmg/downlo...
We will use this program to open main.db which is located here: /Library/Application Support/Skype/*your skype username*/main.db
Open sqlitebrowser and drag the main.db file into it.  This file contains all of your chat history.
Next click the "Browse Data" tab at the top.  Select the "Table" dropdown menue and click on "VideoMessages". This will essentially give you a spreadsheet of all of the information for every video messege you have ever sent or recieved.
Scroll to the right and find the "author" collumn. Use this and the "creation_timestamp" column to help locate the video message you were trying to send.
Once found, you can see, in two other columns, the "local_path" and/or the "vod_path".
Since we are trying to resend a video message you created, we are going to use the local path.  Double click on this.  A window should appear with the path highlighted.  However, we need to deselect the actualy .MOV file name. do this, then press Command-C.
Go to "Finder", "Go", and then "Go to Folder" and past the path into the text box.  Press enter and the folder in which your video message is stored will appear.  Reference the sqlightbrowser to find the exact name of you video message, and then copy your .MOV file to a more convenient location.  You can then go back to skype and send the video message as a normal attatch ment.
Voila! You just resent your video message.

  • HT4237 i want to send a video from iPhone but resolution is poor

please help me everytime i send a video message via my iphone the reciever gets a low quality pixelated video please help/

    Hello Mark,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when sending a video from your iPhone.
When sending a video using email, iMessage, or MMS on your iPhone, the quality of the video will be reduced so that the message can be transmitted.  If you need to share the video with a higher resolution, you can upload your video to YouTube, which will support the HD resolution:
When sharing your finished iMovie video via email, iMessage, or MMS (iPhone 4 or later), the Camera Roll scales down and compresses the video in order to improve upload performance. If you exported your movie from iMovie in HD resolution when sharing to YouTube, you can select whether to share a standard definition or HD version of the video.
Regardless of how you share your finished movie, the original full-resolution version remains in the Camera Roll, and you can transfer this version back to your computer when you connect your device. To do this, follow the guidelines in Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer.
    Find the full article here:
iMovie for iOS: Why are videos shared through the Camera Roll lower resolution?

  • Can't send video message

I've tried lowering the quality of the video and tried using different messaging apps (stock and hangouts) but every time I try to send a video message, I get an error, "Video is too large for MMS message."  I've even tried to send a 2 second video and get the same error.  I just had a friend with an iphone send me a video and I received it and it played no problem (lower quality than the actual video though) and I was able to forward it back to her through hangouts with no problem.  She received the low quality version that I got.  Then I tried saving it and attaching it to an MMS back to her through Hangouts and it sent without a problem (low quality).  So I checked the size of the file she sent me and it's 255kb and about 12 seconds long.  The size of a 5 second video I tried to send but couldn't was 8.3 MB and that's with low quality settings.  Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to send a video on this fancy new LG G3 phone on the best high speed wireless network? Thanks in advance

    Disregard.  Figured it out.

  • Trouble sending video message

I have the HTC Rezound. So far I hate it. I was talked into it by the employees at Verizon. I wanted the iPhone. They assured me this was a better phone which was compatible with my MAC. My MAC doesn't even recognize my phone when I plug it in to it.
Anyway, I am told by HTC that I cannot sent videos unless I use the lowest resolution (which you can't even see because the quality is so poor). I have tried downloading all kinds of applications to help send video messages and still cannot do this. I had no problem with my old non-smart phones. You would think that a more expensive "smart" phone I could do something so simple. I wish I had got the iPhone.

kdinger - demmo86rt is correct. What you want to do is set the camera/camcorder resolution to MMS. You can choose 320 x 240, but your video can be no longer than 3 seconds. In this case, MMS resolution is the way to go. The reason it looked better on your older phone is due to the screen resolution of those older devices. They were closer to that resolution, than what you are using now. The Rezound's display outputs at a resolution of 720 x 1280. (720p) It's pretty much the same as viewing a non HD channel on your HD television. That same channel looked better on your old set versus your new set. The HD video you take on your phone will of course shine on your phone and on your HD tv. Your video message can be about a minute long. You can send a video message with a video size of 1200KB or a bit over 1MB.
With regards to Mac connectivity you should be able to connect it, as I have been able to mount my Rezound my iMac. Are you plugging it in with the original USB cable, and then lowering the notification bar and selecting mass storage mode from your USB menu?
    Let us know!
Thank you everyone and take good care.

  • Video Message Issue

Hello, guys! I have a bit of an issue with the new video message feature of Skype. That is, the option to send a video message is grayed out on every contact I have on Skype, but my friends can send me video messages and I can view them without any problems.
Skype version: 6.21.59.104 (searching for updates yields me that I have the latest version of Skype)
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (100% legal)
Camera: Turbo-X 1080P Full HD with built-in microphone (functions perfectly during video calls)
Internet Speed: Average of 100Mbps if I remember correctly. Fairly fast and functional 100% of the time (I don't know if it is relevant)
Note: I have no Facebook or Live contacts on my contact list. I do not log in as Invisible. Some of my friends do, but the option is grayed out for everyone, not just those that are Invisible. The only personal modification I have done for Skype is to block the advertisments by blocking access to apps.skype.com through my Control Panel.
    Solved!

It seems that everything you are telling me to do about video messaging is not working.   Even going to the Help, About to check for the latest version of Skype is not working.   I downloaded the latest version just in case.   I want to send a video message but the instructions tell me to 1. Click on the contact and then 2. Click on the plus sign.   When I click on the contact, I do not get a plus sign.   I get a dialog box that has a paper clip beside it.   I click on the paper clip and it has the "Send Video Message" there.   I click on that and Skype tells me there is a problem.   What do I need to do?
    Help please.    Thank you.
Most likely you are on the new Skype version with a different design of user interface.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit option).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

  • Is there a way to leave Video messages?

I am using iChat, I understand you can leave video messages to your buddies, provided they are not Off Line but is there any kind of software that would allow me to record and send a video message to someone?
    Thanks
    Frederic

There is no such thing as a video answering machine yet in iChatav3 .... but that would be a great option to have on this app, wouldn't it? You might want to suggest it on ichatav feedback.
For now though, you have a couple of options. Try using iMovie or QT Broadcaster and an iSight camera to record a short video message then export as a QT file to your desktop (or as an e-mail attachment) and send the file that way. In fact, you can even send such a file thru ichatav as well as thru aim or even gmail ...
And if you own mult. FW cameras and a fast enough cpu you may be able to use both ichatav and QT Broadcaster simultaneously which I have done a few times along with a video conference recorder (which is a 3rd app that can be downloaded for use with ichatav). Works great! Post back if you have further questions.

  • IMessage: Video Message BAD Quality?

Hey guys, I just updated my iPhone 4 with iOS 5. I've been looking forward to use iMessage because video message is my primary way of communicating with my girlfriend (no FaceTime over 3G). In iOS 4, I used a 3rd party App called Kakaotalk but it can only send 10 seconds of video message.
So I tried sending a video message through iMessage and I can send it longer than 10 seconds, which is great, but the receiver gets a bad quality of the video. If you are the sender and you play the video on iMessage, the quality is the same as the Camera app though.
Anybody have the same problem? If so, will Apple fix this?
