Send an alert with search query word if nothing return on search result??

Hi All,
is it possible to send an alerts to specific person, when end-users will not find any results on specific query? i know sharepoint has Search alerts, but i am looking to send an alert, if they dont find anything in search results.

Not possible out-of-the-box.
There are search usage reports for reviewing and optimizing the results... but nothing like what you're asking for... Nor do I think such a feature would ever be added... too much potential for misuse (no results found for "JaneDoe should be fired") or overwhelming
amounts of useless information (2000 emails indicating that "NotARealWord" returned no results).
As a developer, it is POSSIBLE with custom development... but I'd still advise against it.

This is a MS Office issue, I'd suggest taking it up with Microsoft or a MS Office forum.

Cannot send a text with a photo + poor battery life = RETURN IPHONE!

I am having so many issues with my iPhone 5 that I think I may just return it. I think that this has been the WORST product launch by Apple EVER! I cannot send a picture with a text message, I cannot send a group text and the battery life is HORRIBLE.
Anyone else agree or have the same problems?

Not the ones you described. I can send pictures and do group messaging, but the iPhone requires data access to do that. Is there possibly a provision error on your iPhone? And do you have an Exchange email account on your iPhone?

Email not in sent box when I send email with attachments in Word.

Several times, I've noticed that when I send an email with attachments in Word = .doc format, I don't find the emails in my Sent Box…Why?

Then this sounds like a problem at the receiving end. More information is needed.

Can't search for words anymore after saving PDFs in Preview

Hi everyone,
I would love to use Preview for my day-to-day use of previewing PDFs + highlighting + setting annotations. However, once I have saved the pdf with Preview I can not search for words anymore. If I search for one letter only, I would get cryptic hits like "7;%! 2%8%P%8!".
I am not sure, but I guess when preview saves the pdf using a Quartz PDF context, something happens with the index, or the underlying the font structuring.
Does anyone have had experience with these kinds of troubles?

Hi, thanks for answering quickly, and the heads up on that other thread.
It undoubtedly has to do with the annotations or mark ups (the last, in my case).
In the linked-to thread they end by suggesting that it's because it's has "commenting not allowed" when you see it
using Adobe Reader, File > Properties > Security says Commenting: Not Allowed.
However, some documents with "commenting not allowed set in Adobe Reader I can highlight or annotate fine, without it messing up after saving.
Besides, any document I save as pdf even from Word, will say commenting not allowed in Adobe Reader. So if even my own documents are not highlight- or annotate-able without garbling the text, what documents would these functions be for, then?
I think what somebody mentioned in the other thread about character encodings hold some truth, I see it in documents in Danish with æ ø and å (however, not all!), but not in English-only docs (yet. Have any of you?).

Unable to perform search query against custom property

I'm trying to perform search against specific property yet I'm getting empty result set.
I have list with some data on it and the field in question has it's value filled. I done full crawl on the site and the crawled property is present under search administration. Property has "Enable full-text search" checked and I'm able to
find these list items when I simply type something like 123 in the search box. Yet I'm unable to perform search against that property using syntax like
DocumentNumber:123.

but still unable to retrieve result when performing search against specific property. I does however return results when I perform search against default columns like
Created or Author.

IBots - How to send an alert when NO records are returned

It seems straightforward enough to send an alert when a query produces results, but I want to do the opposite. For instance, I only want to get an email at 7am when an object has no data in it for the current day. I do not want to know every day that records are returned.
how would i set up such an iBot such that it fires every day, and only emails me when no records are returned form the query?

1) Create a small report called "No Records" and create an unscheduled iBot for this report.
2) You have your iBot created for the original report, yes? Okay. If you don't want any notification when records are produced for this iBot, then in the Destinations tab, make sure all the boxes are unchecked for "Specific Devices."
3) Now in the Advanced tab, click on the "Add Action" button under the "Execute these actions when no records are returned by the conditional request" section.
4) Click on "iBot."
5) Navigate to the "No Records" ibot created in step one.
Now, when the original ibot fires and there are records, nothing will be sent because you unchecked all ways to get notification. But when there are no records, this event will fire the chained ibot you linked to in the Advanced tab. This iBot will have as an attachment, your report that says "No Records."

Email Alert with data from payload SAP PI 7.0

i have a requirement to send an email alert when a Purchase Order Transmission fails through PI. In the email i need to send PO number which had failed.
Format is:
Subject- PO # XXXXXXX failed to reach XXXTarget
in the mail content i need to mention the error and why the error occurred.
Please tell if this is possible in SAP PI 7.0 If yes then How?

Hi,
If the message fails in in mapping, you can send the alert with PO number in the email. Steps would be following.
Catch the execpetion
Call RFC SALERT_CREATE by passing required parameters
You can also pass the PO number as one of the value which will can be used in you alert category
PO number can be used as one of the Alert container
But if the message fails in adapter engine you cannot send the PO number in the email. You can just send email with standard alert containers.

Hi Stefan,
If you have already configured the alert rules then you just need to configure SAP connect and maintain the e-mail address for all the users attached to your alert category. You can go to transaction SU01 and maintain e-mail address for the each user attached to the alert category and the e-mails will automatically be sent if SAP connect is configured.

You will need to set the flag under the RWB for e-mail as well. You will need to login the RWB for each user and go to Alert Inbox - Personalization. Under the Time-Independent Delivery you will to check the box "Mail" as well.

My search bar doesn't send me to google and instead sends me to a website with just that word in it or it tells me that website doesn't exist, how do I fix?

When I try to use the url search bar to look for things on google, it instead sends me to a website with the name of that url. Like if I type in 'cats' it sends me to cats.com and I want it to send me to a list of google search results like it used to. And if I type in anything longer than one word it tells me the website can't be accessed. I don't want to be sent to a website and when I change the settings, nothing will send me to google.

Sounds that you aren't using the search bar, but the location bar and that the actual search bar is missing.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible:
*Firefox > Options
*"View > Toolbars"
Open the Customize window to set which toolbar items to display:
*View > Toolbars > Customize
*Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar

If I may impose on your generosity one more time, if I understand you correctly if I create a document on Word or WordPerfect, print it and scan it to create a pdf, the search function will not work. But, if I create the pdf document in Word the search function will work. Unfortunately, I am not sure how I create a pdf document in Word other than by printing it and scanning it. Could you please explain.

Error during search !!! Associate Search Query with Indexes !!!

We are trying to implement a simple index with Trex Search .
We have done the following tasks :
1. Created my index
2. Assigned data to the the indexes
3. Created taxonomies for classification indexes
4. Created my search query asociated to the index
When we try to search with the iview search , we got this error : <i><b>"Error during search occurred - com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: A received argument has an invalid value (Errorcode 18)"</b></i> .
We think that something is missing and for that we need to know how can we
associate the search query with the index ?
After the step 4), what we have to do in order to get this implementation (search working)

I want to search for words which are similar in meaning,
for example, search with the keyword LIME should give LIME , LEMON etc.
Can it be done using the inbuilt thesaurus?

I don't know how similar the example that you provided is to your actual problem. Synonyms are not the only relations that you can set. You an also use related terms and hierarchies using broader and narrower terms. In the following example, I have created citrus as a broader term and created lemon, lime, and orange as narrower terms underneath citrus. I have them demonstrated how you can query to return all items from the same category that lemon is in, by first finding the broader term citrus above it, then searching for all narrower terms underneath that. I have included some intermediary results that you don't need to run, just for better understanding of how the query is formed.

I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.

Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.
