Send as virtual account?

Hi,
I have a virtual e-mail account that is being forwarded to my Gmail account. In turn, the Gmail account is being forwarded into Mail.
Since I am already receiving mail from this virtual account, is there any way to send as this account as well? I know I can't add a new account, since I can't send from the same Gmail POP as the other one. Is there a workaround for this?
Thanks!

you could add the email address of that virtual account in mail>preferences>accounts, select the gmail account, and then in the email field, add that virtual email address following the gmail address, separated by a coma.
you will then be able to send as either this virtual email address or the gmail address when you create a new email. do note that you will be sending with the same name, the name associated with the gmail account.
hope this helps

  • Outlook 2010 - Multiple Exchange Accounts - Won't send from second account

I've setup multiple exchange accounts in Outlook 2010.  I receive fine for both accounts, but cannot send from second account.  Sent email goes to the Outbox and stays there.
I've tried going back to a second profile, and it works fine.  Mail in Outbox from efforts above stay in Outbox.  If I pull them up, I can resend with no issue.
I need to be able to send with multiple accounts in same profile to do other projects I'm currently working on.  Any ideas???
    Thanks,

I was able to fix this with Outlook 2010 Service Pack 1.
Another area that I had to change was the inbox for that other account I created a rule to put in the primary inbox folder (email 2).
After that the email was only checking one to send and recieve based on the highlighted account, so to resolved that I went to Send/Reveive Groups > Define Groups > Edit Account Properties and made sure they refresh every 1 minute(s).

  • Can I have multiple "send from" email accounts in iCloud like I had in MobileMe?

I was using MobileMe to receive mail I was having forwarded from another (non-MobileMe) email account, and I had MobileMe set up so that I could also send mail "from" that account. I am still receiving that mail fine, but that separate "send from" account disappeared, and I don't see an option to create one. All I see is the option to create aliases, which isn't exactly what I'm looking for. Has anyone else run into this?
I access my mail through the iCloud website on multiple machines.

In fact you weren't using MobileMe to send 'From' the other account, you were using the web page to send using that account's SMTP server (MobileMe's own server only allowed the use of its own addresses).
That facility is not available in iCloud, and similarly you can send using only your @me.com/@mac.com address as the 'From' address.

  • Multiple email accounts but they are all sending from same account.

Set up with multiple email accounts but they are all sending from same account. I have checked account preferences and under composing they are to come from account of selected mailbox but this is not happening! Suggestions?

They are all in the same folder and it says all images are there, but it is only showing 1 card's images at a time. Does anyone know how to fix this?
This is kind of confusing, on the one hand you say "it says all images are there" and then you directly contradict this by saying "it is only showing 1 card's images at a time".
Could you explain in a lot more detail what you see (and don't say "it", say exactly what part of Lightroom or what part of your operating system you are looking at), or show us a screen capture?

  • Regd. error in sender agreement(when to check sender uses virtual receiver)

    hi Experts,
I  am doing a file(  SFTP adapter ) to IDOC scenario.
    I got an error :
    Couldn't retrieve inbound binding for the given P/S/A values:FP=XYZ;TP=;FS=XXXX;TS=XXXX;AN=XXXXXX;ANS=;
I checked my sender agreement  and saw some "*" symbol displayed at the end on SA name.
To quick fix it and remove the star symbol'', i have just created SAgreement  again and this time i checked "Sender uses virtual receiver " and revomved thestar symbol '' and saved without mentioning anything there.
When i tested it worked!  but i want to know what made it work, is it the right practice.
i did a lilttle search on when to use  "sender uses virtual receiver" option.i came to an understanding that it is mainly used to handle multiple input file formats in a single configuration scenario.
    one more qns:
What are marketplace adapters,is this error comes when we use adapters which are not inbuilt or bought from external vender.

  • Mail receives OK but will not send for smtp account.  Exchange server receives/sends OK

mail receives OK but will not send for smtp account.  Exchange server receives/sends OK  I'm away from home, using a family-member's wireless network that has always worked OK in the past.  Today, the same problem occured while waiting in a hospital waiting lounge.  Any ideas?

The outgoing mail server may be rejecting mail from your network address. Typically that happens when your mail service provider is also your ISP, and you connect to it from another network. The SMTP server will allow connections without a password from anywhere, but it will only relay mail from within the ISP's network. It could also be that your account on the server has expired or been suspended.
If you need to send mail from outside your ISP's network, use an independent mail service provider. I don't have a specific recommendation.

  • SQL Server 2012 Express Install on Windows 7 SP1 Embedded not using virtual account?

    Hi there,
I did a default installation of SQL Server 2012 Express on Windows 7 embedded Standard SP1.
When I look at the SQLSERVER service credential it is configured to run under "NETWORK SERVICE" instead of the virtual account "NT SERVICE\MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS".
This is different from SQL 2012 Express installation on a non-embedded Windows 7.
    Why is this difference?
Secondly, because of this, I am unable to take a backup of databases to any folder other than the default SQL folder.

    Hi Chandrasekaran,
As Local Service account, the Network Service account and high privileged Local System account could be used by many services.
It becomes harder to track which service is actually accessing resources and performing actions, because all the services are using the one Network Service account or other account.
In Windows7 and Windows Server 2008R2, it introduces a new type of account called a virtual account, which emulates creating many unique instances of the Network Service account, so each service runs with its own instance of the Network Service account.
For example, when you install SQL 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 and later you’ll see the services run with virtual service accounts named like:
    in the format NT SERVICE\<SERVICENAME>.
According to your description, when the SQLSERVER service was run under “NETWORK SERVICE”, you only back up database to the default SQL folder. It may be caused by the NETWORK SERVICE account has limited local privileges, just accesses network
resource with the computer credential. I recommend you change the account to Local System account, by default, which has full permissions on your computer.
For more information about SQL Server service account and virtual account, you can review the following articles.

  • Why would you use a managed service account rather than a virtual account in SQL Server 2012?

In SQL Server 2012, service accounts are created as
    virtual accounts (VAs), as described
    here, as opposed to
    managed service accounts (MSAs).
The important differences I can see for these, based on the descriptions:
MSAs are domain accounts, VAs are local accounts
MSAs use automagic password management handled by AD, VAs have no passwords
in a Kerberos context, MSAs register SPNs automatically, VAs do not
Are there any other differences? If Kerberos is not in use, why would a DBA ever prefer an MSA?
    UPDATE:
    Another user has noted a
possible contradiction in the MS docs concerning VAs:
The virtual account is auto-managed, and the virtual account can access the network
    in a domain environment.
    versus
Virtual accounts cannot be authenticated to a remote location. All virtual accounts
use the permission of machine account. Provision the machine account in the format
    <domain_name>\<computer_name>$.
What is the "machine account"? How/when/why does it get "provisioned"? What is the difference between "accessing the network in a domain environment" and "authenticating to a remote location [in a domain environment]"?

    Hi,
“Virtual accounts cannot be authenticated to a remote location. All virtual accounts use the permission of machine account. Provision the machine account in the format <domain_name>\<computer_name>$.”
“The virtual account is auto-managed, and the virtual account can access the network in a domain environment. If the default value is used for the service accounts during SQL Server setup on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7, a virtual account
using the instance name as the service name is used, in the format NT SERVICE\<SERVICENAME>”
Per the above description, they are two concepts and not conflict with each other.
As you understand, virtual account access network resources by using the credentials of the computer account. Generally, computer account will not be granted permission unless giving the computer account permission on the shared folder manually.
    Thanks.

  • IPhone Mail Sending from Different Accounts

I have taken a look and cannot see anything on this topic - but I am having trouble with my iPhone sending emails from different accounts.
I have 5 IMAP accounts setup for different emails. When I go to send from one account, it seems to send from my GMail account (which is first in my email list), this is also true for when I reply or forward emails from any of the 4 other accounts.
I thought this might be due to the default mail option in the settings, so I changed this to another account but it was still all sending from my GMail account. When I turned the GMail account off - all accounts worked fine independently.
Has anyone experienced this and know if its a setting somewhere? or a problem in general?
    Many thanks

I am not sure - but I have had to disable the GMail for now so that I can send and forward from my other accounts. Its rather annoying that its defaulting to sending from the GMail account.
Do you think deleting the account and then re-adding it will make any difference?

  • True Virtual Accounts

I've called and asked Apple about enabling this numerous times.
The fact is that you have to create an account on the server for anyone to pop/imap mail off of it. First off this ignores the concept of a Virtual Mail Server.
Problem #1: By having a Non-Virtual account (lets call it "steve") setup like that "steve@anydomain_in_the_mail_serverconfig" will go to account "steve" unless it is specifically told not to.
Problem #2: Instead of using "steve@thedomain_hesat" to log into webmail, pop, imap, smtp, etc only "steve" is used. Again this ignores the Virtual Mail Server concept.
I guess the question is will Apple every change it's Mail Server setup to be ISP friendly?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Can you just confirm as what version of server you want to use for virulization( server 2008 R2 or server 2003)? Also please specify little more details for your case.
Because if you want to have server 2008 R2 used then you have different option. As you can also take benefit of RemoteApp feature. Through RemoteApp we just need to publish the application which we want to use and user can access through RD Web access site
and we don’t need to place on any particular place to use.
    What is RemoteApp?

  • Add login to sql 2012 server for a virtual account from another sql 2012 server

I have two sql 2012 servers.
Server A has sql server agent running virtual account: NT Service\SQLSERVERAGENT
    Server B has some databases.
Server A is running a scheduled SSIS package that needs access to Server B's databases via Windows Auth
Thus I want to grant access by creating a login on Server B to the virtual account on server A: NT Service\SQLSERVERAGENT
    Q1 - Is this possible?
    Thanks beforehand.
    Paulino

    Raul,
As a matter of a test and not with the actual intention to use it this way, I did try to add a login using the DOMAIN\MACHINE_NAME$
concept but it did not work anyway. I will not find it.
So I will use one of the approaches recommended by Mr. Gallardy
    Thanks!
