Send calendar invites "on behalf" of WITHOUT mailbox access

I am using Outlook 2010 (on Exchange with Windows XP) but do NOT have access to my boss's inbox - only to her calendar, which is why my question is in the Outlook section and not Exchange. We have added me as a delegate with the highest level
of permission: Editor. I am aware that this can be done via Share Calendar or Calendar Permissions and I did it via the latter.
When I create meetings in my boss's calendar, it sends them from me, showing me as the Organizer and her as an attendee. I have searched the MS Office Community forum extensively and keep seeing that this is because I do NOT have delegate
permissions for her mailbox/Exchange account. Yet a coworker said she was able to send an invite on behalf of her boss WITHOUT having access to his inbox.
Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Have you double-checked if the delegate permission was granted successfully under File > Account Settings > Delegate Access?
We can also try deleting the boss's calendar in your Outlook and then open it again to see if it helps.
In addition, do you or your boss syncs emails on a mobile device? I heard that syncing emails on a mobile device may cause such issue, if this is the case, we may try to disable the synchronization on the device and then test the
issue again.
Please let me know the result.

  • Send calendar invitation from mail

I've gone back to Mail from Outlook since "upgrading" to Lion in order to get around a bunch of problems.  Is there any way to take a message in Mail and "forward" that message to the people in the "to" and "copy" lists as a calendar or meeting invitation?  Yes, you can copy/paste the eMail addresses but this frequently involves a bunch of editing as the addresses do not come over without extra annotation.

    Hello all,
I sync Gmail account with iCal on my Mac, and with my iPhone and iPad. I can see all of my events on all of my devices without a problem, and can send calendar invites on everything but my iPad. Is there a way to add an event invitation option to my iPad's calendar application?
AFAIK MobileMe is the only way to send event invites. If you have a MobileMe mail account then a new 'feature' of iPad Calendar is activated which allows sending invites.
I don't know of any other way to do it.

  • Cant Send Calendar Invites

Cant Send Calendar invites ... the Button is grayed out any suggestions.

But it's not that the "send" button at the bottom is grey. The part I'm trying to use is the "invite again" feature from the drop-down menu next to each attendee, where it gives you the options of "edit attendee", "remove attendee", "open in Address Book" "invite again" and "send email".
As of my experience, it only highlights if the attendee has refused the invite. Not the most practical.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Can't send calendar invites with mobileme sync ?

    Hi,
I have an iPhone with OS 3.0, I'm using MobileMe to sync Calendars and Contacts with my Mac over the air and it's working well.
One of the new features for OS 3.0 for MS Exchange was to be the ability to send calendar invites from the phone - something not possible in 2.0.
However unless I'm mistaken it is still impossible to send calendar invites with MobileMe directly from the phone ?
If I then go into iCal on the Mac and add invitees to the event that was created on the Phone, iCal can send invites, and when I check back on the phone it now shows the invitees and whether they have accepted or not, but now the Edit button is gone for this calendar entry making further edits from the phone impossible, including even deleting the event.
    Huh ?
It seems crazy that the phone is able to display the invite status but can't edit it, especially if that feature is now available with Exchange. Or have I missed something ?
    Regards,
    Simon

    Hmm,
Well you can accept calendar invites on the iPhone since 2.0 if you're using Exchange, but 3.0 added the ability send calendar invites from the phone with Exchange.
If you can't send or receive calendar invites by MobileMe it kind of puts a lie to the "MobileMe is exchange for the masses" comment from the keynote speeches doesn't it Maybe in 3.1 we'll see it, and maybe in 3.1 we'll be able to Sync Notes by MobileMe as well cough.

  • ICloud isn't sending calendar invites

My icloud account isn't sending calendar invites on events.  I've tried sending them from my iphone, my ipad, ical, and also my online account.
Does anyone know if there is a solution for this?

Having found this on another board, I will pass it along here in hopes that it will be successful.
Apparently if you have the "[email protected]" domain listed as your alternate email in your Apple ID that it is somehow related to the glitch.  I just deleted my me.com as an alternate email and I am going to be resending an invite this evening to 150 people.  So I'd say that's a fair test pool to see how successful this solution truly is.  I will report the results.

  • How do I get my option to send calendar invites back?

I got my iphone 5 and was able to create a calendar event and send invitation to this event to people without any issues.  However, after synching my phone for the first time on itunes (I did not synch it as a new phone so that ) the option to send an invitation from my calender is no longer avaiable.  How do I get this option back?

  • How do I send calendar invites via email or IM from (the new) iPad?

I do not have a mobileme account (and can not sign up for one, because subscriptions have been discontinued.)
So how do I send an invite out to an event that is on my iPad calendar? (I do not have an iPhone, yet...) Is it possible?
(Should I start using another calendar app? I'll take suggestions...)
    Thank you!

  • Sending calendar invites to Blackberry user

I just switched to an iPhone, from my beloved BlackBerry!  I used to send meeting invites to my husband so he would know where and when kids and I woul be, and if he was required to attend or drive, etc, and other necessary information.  How can I send him calendar invites with my iPhone 5?

    Hey insidespin,
This feature would not be available for a POP or IMAP accounts, this feature would require an email account that uses CALDAV or Activesync.
    Thanks.

  • IOS sends Calendar invites via icloud to known icloud users

I am having a lot of difficulty with our company phones and tablets with regard to calendar invites.  Users are complaining that they are not getting calendar invites from other users, and when they do they don't end up on their exchange calendar.  I believe this is the issue:
    1.  iPhone user creates a calendar invitation to their default calendar (which is an exchange calendar) via their iOS device
    2.  The email addresses they specifiy match with Apple somehow as account email with iCloud
    3.  The invitation is sent via iCloud somehow to users that Apple has matched as having an email matching their iCloud account calendar email
This presents multiple problems: If a user isn't subscribed to their iCloud calendar on one of their devices (say it's on for a tablet and not their phone) they will never receive the invitation.  More of a problem is that when the calendar invite is sent (by apple's servers apparently) in that manner, it will come into their iOS device on their device's consolidated calendar (calendar overlay of numerous calendars) but can never of course be sync'd to their exchange calendar which is used on their desktop/laptop.
I'm hoping I'm missing something here as it's a disaster in a corporate environment; it isn't an issue where they can simply use an alternate email address to send the invitation as the majority of users have configured icloud (specifically for icloud backup ONLY, they don't give a darn about the iCloud calendar) with their company email addresses.  This results in calendar invites that are accepted from a user's iOS device from never showing up on their exchange calendar.
The preference would be to either be able to configure a device never to send invitation in that way, OR to configure a receiving device to only accept emailed calendar invitations/configure iCloud not to match and send invites to their iCloud calendar but instead to always deliver to the associated email address.  I'm not sure if this is solvable, I've got to believe with how widely deployed iOS is and the fact that for companies of any size Microsoft Exchange is the de facto standard...there must be a workaround.
    Suggestions?

You are not missing anything, you are referring to integration of Apple product - icloud and Microsoft product - exchange. They do not integrate, were never intended to do so by either of the companies - as far as I know.

  • IPhone 3G sending calendar invites possible?

Just got iPhone 3G - my first venture into Apple Land and no doubt not my last. I was waiting for this to come out to replace my blackberry for work. Everything is EXCELLENT so far and definitely superior to my BB. One MAJOR problem I (and other BB owners) are trying to figure out is how do you create a calendar invite then email it ("INVITE") others to your meeting/calendar entry where they can respond with an accept/decline/tentative. Any ideas? Is this even possible? It is such a key component to BB and would be so disappointing if this feature was missed. Thank you very much to anyone that can help me with this!!

Apple does not comment on future products or features (or complaints).
    From the iPhone 3G manual:
"If you have a Microsoft Exchange account set up on iPhone with Calendars enabled,
you can receive and respond to meeting invitations from people in your organization.
When you receive an invitation, the meeting appears in your calendar with a dotted
line around it. The icon in the lower-right corner of the screen indicates the total
number of new invitations you have, as does the Calendar icon on the Home screen."
    And:
    "Tap Accept, Maybe, or Decline."
This means that answering invitations should work if you are connected to a Microsoft Exchange server.
It does not work if you're using MobileMe, because MobileMe is only "Exchange for the rest of us". And it does not work if you only use iCal with no server support. In short, if you are using iCal, you're out of luck.
Even if you use MS Exchange, you could only respond to invitations. You can't create them.
There's more. If you view an event on your iPhone, you can see the names of the attendees. You cannot see if they accepted the invitation because there is no status symbol. You can't see if you accepted yourself.
    Have fun!

  • I'm unable to open calendar invites with (.ics) I could previously access these. Any suggestions?

I am unable to open calendar invites that have the .ics extension.  I had been able to do so prior to the last ipad update .  I have read several other comments and possible fixes, but they are not working for me.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Trying to send Calendar invites to "groups"

Because of issues with our Exchange server, we are forced to use a backup calendar until server is fixed or replaced.  (Calendar events are not showing up, disappearing, etc.)  Attempting to use Calendar (brand G) on our IPhones, but having some problems getting started.  (IPhone 4S's and 5C's - all with 8.1.2 installed)
Searching the web I found a way to create a "group" on an IPhone by setting up a new contact.  Using the group name as the contact name and the e-mail addresses of the group members in the "e-mail" area (addresses are set-up in this form  -  <[email protected]>, <[email protected]>, etc).
This works fine when I send out an e-mail from my IPhone.  I just create a new e-mail and enter the group name in the (To:) line.    My test group has just 4 individuals and they all get the e-mail.
But when I try to use that same "group" name for sending out an invite for a new calendar event, no one in the group receives it.  It shows up on my calendar (on IPhone and laptop) but shows no invitees.
Would love to hear if someone has dealt with this.
Also experiencing the GMT issue in trying to get this all worked out but hope that a fix for that might come to fruition when I get these other issues worked out.
    Thanks

Have you found a solution?  I can't even Accept someone else's invite.  I went to the ActiveSync to solve the Calendar issue.  I might switch back to regular Email, contacts and hope the Calendar works.  I lose all other folder functions, task, memos, etc.  My 9900 was never a problem like this.  Not happy!
